What ROM & Kernel Combination are you running? - T-Mobile LG G2x

I'm looking to see what ROM & kernel you guys are using and what you're if battery life you are getting? Just trying to see others experiences with various combinations....
I'm on Phoenix Blood 1.3 with faux 0.4.8. I average about 10 hours of battery life on heavy usage Web surfing on and off for a total of 4 hours, texting at 3 hours on and off, voxer 1 hour, email is on push, twitter refreshing every 1 hour.

I tried Phoenix and its pretty darn fast and stable except I had a few issues with recording long videos. .maybe an isolated incident. Gonna try your combinations next.

one the of the best iv ever seen on my g2x i think its better then faux's kernel and it doesnt have the funky readings btw iv been hearing great things about pheonix blood how is it?

running MIUI and last faux, so far it's pretty good.

I have reverted back to Tsugi 12-7 update. It's fast and reliable even with its stock kernel. On top of that my phone has been running for 12 hours now and am sitting at 50% battery. It's pretty great.

[Der Kernel] Trinity for G2x - Performance + Batterylife - CM9 + CM7/GB 2.3.5+ based

Trinity G2x
This kernel aims at bringing performance and usability to your phone.
Is this kernel where i want it to be? No, not yet.
Is it worth flashing? Yes it is.
It seems cpasjuste's UV feature is something hard to get around, so I didn't fight the source and just included this.
So what do we have?
cm source based (2.6.32.43) (cm changelog not repeated here, i'll try to stay in sync)
Cpasjuste UV/OC
VM improvements (keeps you from running out of memory, stalls if they happen are shorter and less severe than in stock kernels)
Build improvements (leaner, meaner code)
No crazy long feature lists, less is more!

Thanks to @RyanMacG for euroskank hosting
For those who can't wait for the next kernel release and want the new Trinity bootanimation by the awesome @rascarlo NOW.
Check his other awesome stuff while you are there.
Make sure you have a recovery with support for ext4
Setcpu supports these kernels, as does the cpu settings under CM7 performance setting, no tool required if further UV is not desired!

Blazing fast after the update

I got a quadrant score 2500+ for the first time after the update. I notice the IO was doubled, in quadrant advance before the update I would get 2000+ on the IO test, but now it gets 4000+. What did tmobile did on the update that it got the device IO scores doubled?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
I have the same thing with my device as well. After testing it with Quadrant Advanced, my score is 2500+ and before this update it never reached 2000 at all.
It's not just speed... battery life has been improved as well.
just updated mine as well. It went from 2160 before the update to 2783 in quadrant and 4911 before to 5225 on AnTuTu. Now lets see how much the battery is improved

Yea I just got 2714 score on quadrant. Damn this update was very good for the device, this just proves that how fast a device is isn't just about the processor, its more of like a balance between the processor and the software. If the software is crap but the processor is the best one out there, it really doesn't help much. For instance look at the galaxy nexus, it has the hummingbird GPU not the latest exynos yet it is faster than the galaxy s 2!
So really if you think about it its not about the processor only is more about the software.

It depends.
ROMs based on the T-Mobile base won't be as fast until they incorporate what's changed in this ota update. Once they do, they'll likely end up being faster.

Temple run issues

Does anyone else have problems when playing temple run with it not being sensitive enough? I even turned my sensitivity all the way up and i feel like i have to tilt really far in order to get my guy to move from side to side :/
There are like 2 threads about this, check the general section, there is a thread about it. From what I've seen its a problem with cm7 and cm7 based ROMS or CM7 kernels like Faux's cm7 kernel and Trinity's cm7 kernel. It works perfectly on stock and on Cm9 WITH harsh's 3.0 kernel.

Just like a 1st person shooter. Get used to it at a super high sensitivity and you'll be way better off.
It could be rom issues. I recently flash Genesis ics and the sensor works fine when it wasn't b4. however, sometimes my swipe doesn't register

Definitely a kernel issue the stock kernel is the way to go kuz that's how the game is meant to be sensitive but trinity and faux make it not sensitive enough. Also words of advice when playing temple run to prevent the falling off the edge just wait a milliseconds longer before attempting to make turns...trust me it works I broke 5 mill a few times but for some reason my screenshot app didn't work lol

For one, the "stock kernel" is going to be different depending on which ROM you use. And no one is going to choose which kernel they use over one game.

Best Battery Life Kernel

I'm running synergy nightlies and am looking for a kernel that get the best battery life... I don't need over clocking or anything like that I keep the phone in power saver mode if that even does much... If anyone has some information on this that would be great!
Also is the kernel that comes with the latest synergy nightlies good on battery? Thanks!

Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I've found that using setcpu and keeping ziggy's synergy kernel at 1.51 max and .384 min with the ondemand has been stellar in battery life. Those are the default kernel settings for the stock samsung kernel. Its been great for me, but its also all relative to what you consider to be "best battery life" i keep a charger at work, at home, and in my car, so my phone is always plugged in, i also keep the brightness all the way down because that seems to be bright enough for me, and i don't do much streaming since i keep all my music on my sd card. But i can easily get 3 - 4 hours of screen on time
If ziggy's kernel isn't your choice then i'd say go with imoseyons lean kernel, i used that all the time on my tbolt and it definitely improved battery life. That kernel can be found HERE he doesn't have a thread for it on xda, so you'll have to download it here.
Oh and if you do try out imoseyon and want to return to ziggy's kernel, there's a link to download ziggy's kernel in the OP of the synergy thread.
I hope this helps

KT747 is a pretty baller kernel with lots of govs. I was on lean but I'm liking this one much better so far, including battery life. It's in Original Dev if you wanna check it out.

A TW version was released yesterday.
I am running the KT TW kernel now. Seems to be running great. Lots of great features.

I really enjoyed his CM10 Kernel. However on Beans 10 this kernel just ate battery and completely killed my performance. IMO .4 seemed the best on my phone.
