Hello.
I bought a LG Windows Phone 7 Pre Release version that has the not final version of Windows Phone 7 installed.
The download of content via Marketplace is not possible.
I talk about the device is visible here: http://www.xda-developers.com/windows-mobile/lg-windows-phone-7-oem-apps-dumped-and-available/
Is it possible to install the actual/final version of windows phone 7 on this device?
Thanks
I also have this device (LG GW910). Current Firmwire version is 7003 (looks like a debug version, but stills fully functional), but zune hadn't founding any updates (i tell about yesterday's update).
if it is really build 7003 then it looks like the update will be for you to .
if you look inside the update then you will see that the build number 7003 is there to , so just wait a few day's and see if it work (the update is pulled by MS and will be re released later)

How did you watch inside? Using sniffer, i've downloaded 4127275_2c13fa19e584b0b758fd2c4396876559ba291b63.cab, which constains a txt file, but i didn't found anything useful there.
We all have build 7003 on our Panthers. I haven't gotten the update yet either. Unfortunately I think all we can do is sit and wait.

I was wondering about that, but I don't know. Since we're unlocked and unbranded, I thought we'd be the first to receive the update.
I guess a good question is, are there people out there with Samsung Taylor devices that also have no gotten it?

Good point, and I don't think you can change it.
look here "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963431 "
it is a .cab and in that .cab are a few .cab.pku files (look at the name of the files and you will see what I mean)
to open the cab.pku you just remove .pku and then extract .

Same here, but now I'm having a huge problem. Everytime I slide out my keyboard, my screen dims to an unreadable level. I've never dropped it so I'm hoping that it's not a power cable problem.

I have a pre-release focus, it's unlocked and no branding it seems. When I check for an update on Zune it says my phone is up to date 7.0 (6512), but no....it's not up to date at all. I wonder if I will be able to update?

Wow. I hope you get an update more than we do.
Btw, as of today (2/25) still nothing.
when i have my phone locked and im not even touching it, every few minutes the screen will turn on and sit there for around 30 seconds then will turn back on a few mins later, this is very annoying and im sure uses a ton of battery over the course of a day, im running leedroid 3.1.2 and it used to do it on 3.1.1 so idk if its rom related
Are you sure your not getting notifications??or if any app is causing it (alerts?)?

Check for any stray apps. Install "Battery history for GB" app from market and check for apps that are using "wake lock" excessively.
I had a similar problem with my inspire. It seemed to be caused by a faulty usb cable. After I plugged my phone into my car charger it started working fine.
I have an Inspire 4G with the same problem. I doubt that it is an app, because I changed the rom 3 times so far. And with every one of them, the problem persists. Anyway, i'm trying the Battery log now.

Do you have any apps that you set up profiles for, i.e. Llama? They can be buggy sometimes with the screen commands.
I have the same problem. Going to have to waste my upgrade in august for a new inspire. I am trying battery history for gb now. IF anyone has any ideas, please lets us know. This is absolutely ridicolous.

annoying screen randomly turning on
Hey I've been having the same issue, my SGS I9000 international version keeps turning the screen on by itself randomly, I've flashed my phone back to stock Eclair 2.1 and then I went to Froyo, Cyannogen mode 7, ICS rom which I forgot the name of it, and then I'm running on the new value pack now which is 2.3.6XXJW4 however nothing has solved this damn problem, my screen keeps turning on and it's killing my battery, help please..!! I've tried to see if the sensor is not working, however I believe it's something else.. please let me know if someone has fix for this..!
I'm running LeeDroid v5.1.1 and haven't experienced this yet. I've been running it close to 2 weeks now with no real issues. Just an occasional lag spike on wake up.

Has anybody seen a heart over their battery symbol? I just replaced the battery on DVP, and its now showing a heart symbol over the battery. The heart is still showing there no matter what % the battery is at! Any ideas what that is?

You can still text and make calls, but it won't retrieve data for emails etc or run background apps.

I would, but I just had my phone replaced due to bricking, and my new one is having a lot of issues. I don't want this one to brick and them not replace it because Mango is installed on it.

Back up your phone! The only bricking I've heard about on WP7 is from flashing completely custom ROMs
Aww, yep im running Mango, and I have the battery saver mode on. Thank you! And I would highly recommend upgrading to Mango too! You can always restore you phone through the Zune software, and you don't have to be Dev Unlocked. I had Mango on my other DVP (before I dropped it off a rollercoaster) and was able to restore it and exchange it no prob!

No, my phone bricked itself. I had backups from previous updates and they wouldn't work. It happened randomly, my phone reset itself and then gave me a "Storage card is not working" message. After that, it wouldn't boot past the Samsung screen.
(I know this isn't technically "bricking," but ok my phone was a brick with a nice Samsung logo displayed on it.)

I noticed this the other day and I was like WTF ?
The display stopped working 2-3 days ago. On booting i can see the google logo for 2-3 seconds before the screen goes dark. The phone works and i can hear dings of messages, but i cant access any of it. Once i kept shut it for a day i was able to see the screen for 10-15 seconds( i used this window to remove the screen lock so that i can use the usb transfer ). Now keeping the phone shut for long duration has no effect.
I can see the fastboot screen but not the recovery screen throught it.
I also bought a slimport so that i could see the screen on my pc. It works (not for the fastboot or recovery), however the touch doesn't work and the volume and power buttons response is too sluggish. I can connect the mouse but it is of no use as i can't see the screen on PC and use the mouse at the same time. I tried adb ( i have no experience of it ) but i cant touch the allow pernmissions key on the screen for the above reasons. Also what advantage would adb be in this case?.
Any advice ?
PS: i have cyanogenmod
I think ram is your only option. It definitely sounds like it's hardware and not software related.

Oh, you mean sending it to LG for servicing? I am a bit hesitant since i have cyanogenmod and also am in india and i doubt they will give a replacement. I think going back to stock rom and then sending it for repairs might help but i have no idea how to go about doing that in this situation.

Its all done via fastboot or lg flash tool. Probably the latter is best for you. Have a read of the guides in my signature

Same issue I had pretty much, it died about 2 months ago. I was still able to copy all of my files, phone worked perfectly but the screen was black. Had it replaced it no time. Is that by any mean a 311k? I've seen another thread like that pop up lately.

I don't know yet, I'm just trying to figure out whether it's a particular batch that started failing or it's completely random, just curious. The two replacements I was sent were 403K. Build is perfect, but they both had some light bleed issues. Looks like every batch comes with some good and some bad, QC definitely hasn't been too great on this phone.

They're not really built in batches. Manufacturing was continuous. They just changed the serial number every time the month changes so I dont think this would actually mean anything
I know but I'd still use it as a milestone more than anything, I mean there have been some differences in the units (eg bigger speaker holes), this way it's easier to track them along the timeline, because they definitely do change something in the manufacturing process from time to time if they have to make up for issues or something. They also did it with the N4 if I remember well.

Speaker holes is a bad example because even the latest built devices it was still a lottery whether you got bigger or smaller holes. That's down to what you mentioned earlier, QC

I was able to unroot and flash the stock image. The problem still exists though, so it has to be a hardware issue. Fortunately the phone is still in warranty.

Unfortunately I have tried the upgrade assistant and Smart Switch from samsung themselves, and neither will detect it, it highlights the phone red (I assume when it's checking for an update) and then goes back to being white and says under status "Up to date" and my version is still OJ3...
I've tried removing the device from the list, readding it, reinstalling the program, repairing the device to reflash it in hopes of getting it, numerous things.
I'll post images of it.

I have tried this as well. I believe I may know a way to get it through the Upgrade Assistant but I believe I need help from someone who is already updated in order to be able to get it. Anyone up for the task by any chance?
If you go into "C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\VERIZON" you should see a BinaryDB.db file, if uploaded I may be able to use it to trick their servers into thinking my device is updated, but needing a factory reset, then in essence allowing the software to download the files needed to "factory reset" (hehe the update file I need...) my phone.
Another way to do this is go into any folder, type %AppData% and then browse to "Roaming\VERIZON"
I have literally tried everything that I can think of other than this.

Which issues were you having with battery? Because I think I am experiencing it as well. I was expecting a large boost to battery from both the Marshmallow battery features and from using WiFi calling and putting the phone in airplane mode. It doesn't seem to be any better, if anything it seems worse than it was on 5.1.1.

Many of us have seen increased battery drain with the first Verizon Marshmallow update. It's been a difficult thing to narrow down because some claim they have better battery life.
New to Samsung. Got the Note 5 a few weeks ago and immediately jumped to MM. Got the new update today and it just told me my SIM card was removed. I had to reset to get it to register.
I had pretty good battery on the original MM update. I'll know more tomorrow after a full discharge/charge cycle.
