So I was trying to uninstall the OCLF V1+ from my I9003. I was looking around the forum, then I found out that I had to delete a file in system/bin playlogo and reboot after that go back into OCLF and hit restore boot animation and I will be able to remove the lag fix. I removed playlogo from system/bin. Unfortunately, when I was rebooting my phone, it kept looping at the Samsung logo and would not go into the lock screen like how it does every time I reboot it.
Note: I am still able to go into clockworkmod(CWM) recovery and download mode.
Please help me! This the the first android phone I have and will probably be the only one that I can afford.
Help will be very much appreciated. Any other tips will also be appreciated. Thanks.
Do u have back of os with help of CWM??? If not then u have to reflash with ur stock rom.

Dont worry dude.. Its no biggie.. Just like vishal said if you have backed uo your firmware tgen u can restore it through cwm.. If not you can always reflash it.. Search the forum for flashing i9003..
do not use the restore boot animation in oclf.. The paylogos it will restore is for i9000 not for i9003..

its not difficult do a nandroid restore or flash with ODIN.
u can also try clearing cache..
I did backup in the external sd card but when they said backup completed, I rebooted into my phone and saw that my external sd card has totally no free space at all, I was afraid that the backup was not complete and that they said backup complete only because there is no more free space on the external sd card.
So can I use the backup?

Try to use the restore option.. It will automatically lead you to a folder that contains the backup.. If not it will say no files..

What I mean is that the backup I did was not complete. Maybe it was just 3/4 complete then due to the lack of space in external sd card it was not complete.
Thanks for your quick reply.

Hmmm.. You should just flash your phone to your stock firmware(if you remember) or to other firmwares I.e xxkb3 w/c is widely used here

Many of us used xxkb3 because alot of themes were modified for kb3.. I also have dxkb2 as a stock rom.. Just flash it in pda and dont check repartition.. In other words open odin then select the single file in pda and don't use the latona file.. Make sure you are in download mode..

Yes part.. When I sent my phone to service center I flashed to dxkb2 (although they didn't checked it because they only checked for hardware).. When you flash it the pda phone and csc will be changed to your stock dxkb2.. Hope it helped
Edit: part, did u mean that is it compatible if u use dxkb2 as pda and xxkb3 as phone and csc? I think not.. But if you want to flash back to stock dxkb2 you can and the phone pda and csc will be changed to stock even if it has only one file

Thx everyone i have already flashed back to dxkb2. It worked now i just have to redownload my 200++ apps(very tedious). Are there any other tips?? Should I apply lag fix again, will it be of alot of help? Should I also flash cwm? Is the risk of bricking(anytype of malfunction such as soft bricking or boot screen looping etc.) flashing cwm very high?
Thanks guys.

Bro not only me but every member will recommend u to flash CWM for high level safety. You can backup whole rom as it is. Even if ur phone gets bricked dont worry bro...with restore option from CWM will restore everything. U will feel that nothing was happened to ur phone.
NEVER use lag fix!!! Its an head ache.
Hope u got ur answer.
U can use titanium backup as mentioned by misledz if u flash your phone then u can restore all as it was previous

I know about the original thread but it's too long and about random stuff.
So i flashed via Odin to the KG4, it's fast and smooth but i would like to root it so i can (a) get my apps back with titanium and (b) have some fun. However, when doing the z-image and z-image root files with odin, the phone would show a boot screen and then come back, it would do it every minute or so. But this only happened while rooted. I was wondering if there is another way to root KG4?
Also can i use a regular backup app to restore my apps and data even though its in a titanium backup file?
I take no credit for this...
Thanks to corradokng for this method and to dsexton for finding original root zimage!!
For Root Follow Below:
THIS IS FOR ODIN
1. Flash This zimage-root-tar
2. Let Boot Loop Twice, you should see a fish.
3. Boot Back into Download Mode
4. Flash this. zImage-KG4.tar.md5
5. You should now have Root
6. Hit Thanks

So Odin back to Kd1 or Kc1 and then flash to KG4 and root?
Also can i restore my apps that i backed up with titanium backup with any other restore app on market?
Again, Post in the correct sections. Thread closed.
First off, i'm sorry if there are posts on this. I searched this site and Google to find my answer. I tried flashing the Infused rom first, the flash didn't work, I was stuck in boot loop. I eventually used Odin to get back to stock. I decided to go with the SuperCM7 instead to try my luck with that. I am rooted and have installed CWM through rom manager(galaxysi9000 as im sure you all know. I'm trying to follow the steps on infinitybiff's post(directions for flashing....) Anyways when i try to go into CWM recovery, i'm taken to the standard android <3e> recovery screen. Should I try downloading CWM to my sdcard and trying that? Any suggestions would be great!
Just manually replace the recovery file.

Hahaha, yes Seinfeld was a good show. No worries got my phone up and running, now to try this flashing crap again... OK, update.zip is on my INTERNAL SD CARD and still not booting into CWM. On the verge of giving up.
Did you try to manually replace the recovery file yet? ROM Manager doesn't always seem to work for it.
My method :
Flash the kernel+cwm by sgs kernel flasher apps.
if your rom.

Pls help-
I'm not quite a noob, but def no dev... got my Atrix 2 rooted using mastermind's 1-click method, installed bootstrap & flashed clockworkmod recovery- everything went fine until trying to flash/restore the ROM itself. I followed the instructions to the letter (save ROM in cwm backup folder, wipe cache & data, do not flash zip... restore in recovery). Yet i've bricked 2 atrix 2's trying to install this rom. Luckily the store I work at was good about letting me switch out, but kinda scared to brick a 3rd device. It just errors on restore then goes back to cwm. I try to reboot and cant get past the moto startup screen.. I'm sure i'm doing something wrong, cuz I know it should work (there are screenshots in the thread)... any help?

You do know that you are more than likely going to be charged full price of the phone if you are returning a bricked phone to the store.

Luckily I work for a phone sales store, so they didn't charge me full price, as I blamed the phone bricking on a "bad software update" (which is kinda true- if the rom had restored properly, I wouldn't have been bricked in the 1st place)
; )
and it was still within the exch. period anyway... But that's neither here nor there... Yez, I unzipped the folder into the cwm backup folder. Not sure about reflashing fxz, havent tried that yet... don't really know how, never had to do that? I've flashed dozens of roms on my HTC & Samsung galaxy phones, but this is my first exp. w/ moto. So any help u can give is appreciated.

I had a similar problem, found the unzipped folder nested 2x under clockwork/backup.
Like this
sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/myrom/myrom
What I did was move all the files from second folder to the first then deleted second folder.
Hope I am clear and that it helps.

Just try to flash fxz,it's pretty simple. You just need the file you need and let the pc doing everything while you watching a tv.
I got this problem twice when i try to flash victory rom this morning, wich is caused by a corrupt file.
And everything is sorted out by flashing fxz.

The devs have got some roms from other moto phones to boot but have problems mostly with the radio and probably a handful of other things. I would highly recommend you not try to do this. We have plenty of good roms here in the dev section that you can flash that are good roms. Generally if you follow the instructions for each rom you would be fine but if you are afraid of bricking your phone make sure you read a lot before attempting anything and always make sure you have a way back to stock.

You need to flash CWM using NVFlash on the G2x; ROM Manager won't do the trick.

As long as you used NVFlash for CWM, it's super easy. Just download the ROM you want and save it to your SD card. Then go in CWM, wipe data, cache, and system, then choose "install from zip file"and select the ROM you downloaded. Voila
Oh, and don't forget gapps, too. It installs the same way

You could easily find this but
1.download cm7 and appropriate gapps
2.go into recovery recommended you make a backup
3.wipe data and factory reset, wipe cache partition, go to advanced>wipe dalvik cache
4.go back install zip from SD>pick cyanogenmod
5.install zip from SD>gapps

I have been using Samsung Galaxy 3 GT-i5801 for 2 years now.. It was having Android 2.1. Today I decided to install custom ROM to upgrade to Android 2.3.7. Used the below steps in the process:
1. Rooted the device using SuperOneClick
2. Installed ClockworkMode ROM manager 4.3.3.0. Installed G3RM as well.
3. I could not take the backup. G3RM when tried to open was opening a html code when i clicked the options. ClockworkMode did not have the option for Galaxy 3.
4. Downloaded the CM7.2.0-GT-i5800_Alpha8.3_CWM.zip from google code pages for cm7-i5800 (92.2 MB in size).
5. Copied the zip file to the base directory of SD card and renamed it to update.zip. Using CWM wiped the data/factory reset. Phone rebooted to Android 2.1 with all data erased.
6. Then I updated the ROM using CWM. It didn't throw any errors. Mobile rebooted. But it gets stuck in opening screen forever (display contains just GT-I5801 and Samsung). I assume this is a soft brick. As I recollect now, I forgot to clear the cache before the upgrade. Will this be a problem?
7. Tried to recover using Power + Vol Up+ Vol Down + Menu combination. This process is also stuck with a message "FORCED UPLOAD by KEY PRESSING".
8. I suspect the device is bricked now.
I am new to android ROM updates. I am looking forward for your help to unbrick the device now. Please suggest me the steps to unbrick the device (Or a link which i should follow).
Regards,
Shreekanth
At Step 7, try use ODIN and flash a Rom through it. Theres a guide somewhere on this forum. It should help save your.. Oh wait. I think you have to get a special i5801 ROM, but I might be wrong.
My phone does not boot up now.. Will it be possible to use ODIN to flash a ROM at this stage? Before step 6, I had cleared the wiped the data / factory reset using CWM. That time it rebooted to Android 2.1. Later i copied the ROM and tried the ROM update. I am facing the problem since then.
Since the display turns on, I assume this is kind of soft brick. So hoping for a fix. I am searching the entire forum for any possible answer. Please help me with your suggestions.

A xda thread "How to use ODIN for dummies" was very helpful. Thanks a lot for all of your suggestion.
