[Q] Bricked phone ? - HTC Desire S

Hello everyone ,
I got a HTC Desire S. Yesterday i opened my phone and suddenly it closed. And didnt open again. It froze in HTC screen. (Quietly Brilliant is not coming) And i couldn't make a factory reset or recovery. When i press factory reset it froze again. Is there a way to fix this? Also the phone is not rooted or installed any custom rom. Lastly i am a newbie on Android devices. While answering me, can you also please describe what should i do step by step. Especially technical terms.
Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Hey. When I turned mine on first out stayed on that screen for about 10 mins.
Just turn the phone on and leave it. How long did you wait?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App

pull out battery, wait for a wile then turn on..lets see what will happen

I pulled out the battery than waited for about 10 min. after that i pulled in and tried to open, its trying to pass HTC logo and still no "Quietly Brilliant" text is coming after 10 min. waiting.. Still waiting...

try to remove sd card too..thats my last idea..

After 28min waiting i pulled out the battery and removed sd card. Now trying to open without sd card. I will post the result. Thanks for responses btw.

@uteamnofear is that happed to you also?

No it didnt happen while downloading or doing something. It happened suddenly. It looks like i will return it to warranty.

i think its best idea

Try boot into recovery or in the hboot menu wipe the device. Then try to boot again.

Unfortunately i tried them too. But results are same phone froze while i tried to do them.

this happened to me while i was downloading in the market.
phone got stuck in the htc screen and could not load anything at all, no reboot or factory reset either.
i send it back to HTC last wednesday n got it back friday! all good now.
they simply changed the motherboard.

I think i will do the same Thanks for sharing your experience.

Same here, just send it to HTC, they'll just install new motherboard or swap your phone for working one.

[Q] I Need help fixing my HTC Inspire

the other day I turned my HTC Inspire off to charge for the night and the next morning I turn it back on to see it stuck at the white HTC screen. The phone vibeates like 5 or 6 times while on the White HTC screen... I get it to the BOOTLOG menue to try to reset the phone and it will not do anything it says no CID and something else. Please helpif you can.. I am open to any advise.. I was told that I could download new rom on my external SD card and then upload it thru BOOGLOG but cannot find what i need to download... any help would be great !!! please advise as I anxiously await!! Robert
First thing to try when it is stuck is to pull the battery out. put it back in and restart the phone. See what happens after that and report if the phone is still stuck or if it booted.
it is still stuck wont do anything ... i have to hold the power button and the volume down button to get it in Bootloop mode and still does nothing... is there any hope on saving this phone?

Please do your research on what you are doing before you do it. Bootloop is not a mode but what your phone does when it loads the animation and then starts the animation over and over again. My advice would be to read the stickies before you do anything else.
Please for the love of all tech. Do your homework on what your doing or you will wind up with a device that wont turn on and cant be returned. Flashing things to your phone is not for people that dont want to learn.

You obviously need to read up on this device. There is bootloader or fastboot. Yes you can flash a Rom through bootloader or a signed ruu through fastboot. One can be done if you are s-off and the other if you are s-on. Read the forums to learn about this device because no one is going to be able to help you if you can't even understand what they are telling you.

no, it seems completely dead. Even when I connect it to the charger the charging light doesn't turn on!

remove battery.. then try powering the phone.. if nothing happens.. follow this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1198585
and if still nothing happens..then I would say that it's bricked...

Hi, I am new to the forum as a member, although i have been on here before browsing. Think its excellent and helped me alot with my old htc.
My phone went completely dead today, for some reason it wouldnt take charge from my car charger. I got home and charged the phone, it switched itself on, but wont get past the HTC ONE splash screen. I have rebooted it several times.... any ideas?

You going to need to charge it for half hour or more before you want to start messing with stuff.

Its not rooted, just tried the recorvery option in bootloader, but that just came up with a phone picture with an exclamation mark.
When it stalls, if you hit the power button the bottom keys continually flash. :s
I hope i can get back into this phone as i have alot saved on it!

Think you going have to reset it but not sure if doing it in bootloader will wipe the SD.

Try the factory reset option. Your data will still be there afterwards you will just have to setup the phone again.
If you haven't rooted the phone or unlocked the bootloader it's best you stop trying to fix it yourself before you blow your warranty. Try the factory reset and if it doesn't work start calling and trying to get a replacement.
Also, all questions go into the Q & A forum.
Hold the power and volume down buttons until the phone turns off and reboots itself into the bootloader. Then factory reset from here.

Factory reset in recovery? Might be worth a try putting one file on the storage and doing a reset through recovery. I doubt it though, since it removes locking and if it didn't wipe out would give access to all your photos and documents.

[Q] Stucking in a uncommon bootloop

Hey guys,
well I bought off Ebay this phone some weeks ago and I already had some problems which I was able to fix, but now I'm having problems again.
The standard is done, means S-Off, hboot 1.28, 4EXT recovery and JellyBam CFW. It worked now for like a week... haven't even been finishing the contact sorting due that I lost some contacts from the last **** that happened. <.<
Since yesterday evening, without that I did something, it starts to reboot when I hit the "Power"-Button which actually is used to wake it up when the screen turns black. It boots normal, asks me to put in the sim-pin, then it loads and screen turns off (usually due to screenprotect). When I now hit the "Power"-Button it just restarts instead of showing the screen for the protector. I tried already to wipe the cache but it didn't help.
I don't want to reinstall Firmware or something neither do I want to contact the seller. My job requires this phone.
Thx to anyone who might help me.
Cheers

That's not a solution. Isn't normal that I have to plan a new ROM like every week.

7 vibrations Bricked..

can anyone help me if my phone have been bricked and doesnt turn on?
when plugged in or powered with the battery, pushing the power button results in a black screen and 7 vibrations. I have done some searching and seems to be some mixed results.
*its BRICKED
*put it in the freezer (doesnt work; same issues)
*reload the RUU (dont quite understand how i can flash it from the computer)
any help would be great! thanks

You tried holding Volume down while booting? That should get you into the bootloader if it's not corrupted.
yeah holding down any vol down or vol up or both and power is the same.. black screen and 7 vibrates.. i am afraid its bricked.. hopefully there is a way to revive it.. i have been looking and it doesnt look good.. haha.. darn!

Hi, i used to have the same problem... after a lot of research and test.... im going to give what give me the best result....
first take the battery, sim card and sd card out.... let it there for a day without touching it...
2- put everything back, sim, sd card and battery of course...
3-lets try a factory reset... wipe all data, and reinstall rom....reboot and thats it... (worked for me)
NOTE: you must have the rom and google and google appk in the sd card... cuz when u reset u will install the rom from there... so make sure u first have that in your sd card...
good luck and let me know the ressults...
