How do I perm-root my TMO USA Sensation - HTC Sensation

I want to root my Tmobile USA Sensation but I am clueless. I have never done this before so I was wondering if someone can give me a step by step guide.
Also, once I reboot the device, will it go back straight to stock version and not have any side effects?

You cannot perm-root at this time. Check the dev forum for temp-root options.

Where is the dev forums? Sorry I am really new to all this so I don't really know where to temp-root.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1112

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152148
What is that btw?
Also in case I manage to temp root and install this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1084195
and I have to reboot, will the camera app go back to normal?

That's what temp means . It will be reversed after u reboot
But why would u change camera app
Sensation's is v v good

How to root sensation:
1) place in washer with light colored clothing. Darks will bleed and cause screen discoloration.
2) add mild detergent, no bleach.
3) do not use spin cycle, this may damage phone.
4) run washer. Phone should be rooted upon completion. Post results here.

You're kidding right? Being a noob does not make it ok to not read the stickies and instead clutter the board with another thread that didn't need to be posted.
*edit* I will give it to the OP that at least this is in the right section and not another "how do I root my phone" thread in the development section.

In order for your post to be classified as "humorous"... wouldn't it have to be funny? I agree with him, your response was asinine. It's not about hurt feelings, it's about wasting the OP's time by responding in such a way that contributed neither substance nor helpfulness. If you want to work on your comedy skills, go to amateur night, not a thread by someone looking for help on XDA.

Counting updates. Evo 3d & Sensation

Have you noticed how quick HTC & Sprint are to fix the issues with the Evo 3D?
Evo 3D has had 2 updates already. 1 before and 1 right after launch.
T-Mo on the other hand does nothing..and the Sensation has way more issues than the Evo 3D.
Let's weigh in and see what you guys think the reason is.
Personally i think it was just a bad batch or 2. Each device seems to have different versions of different problems. most people are only complaining because they go looking for an issue most times. Dust can only be seen if the screen is off is not anything honestly to complain about to me. A couple dead pixels? yes. Lag and things like that can be fixed i think.

T-Mo likes to put out collective updates that fix multiple things, rather than two small updates that might lead to other issues...
There aren't many major issues with this phone either...most of the ones complained about are hardware (which must be replaced) or user error. There are alot of clueless people complaining about problems that aren't even problems here.
Agree with the above post.....
People have to keep mind that the Sensation is, for a vast majority of owners, a problem free device.
Other than a speck of dust on my first one, my second one is just about perfect....hardware and software.
It's a VERY small % of Sensation owners that ever even look at any forums, let alone post on forums. Even then, the people who are on this forum and have major issues over and over are in the extreme minority.
As far as updates and s-off and all that stuff....wasn't it just a month ago that the CEO of HTC said they were going to change their policy on bootloaders? Thats not long at all...gotta give corporations time to get their ducks in a row.
For me and a VAST majority of owners of this device.....its great and doesn't really need anything that's urgent or absolutely necessary....
Oh....the OP should add one more poll question..... Is everything great with your device? My answer would be yes!
Htc has already "leaked" an update for their unbranded sensations...

Have you seen the reviews on tmobile.com? This phone has 5 STARS. There's 2 reviews that have 1 star. Probably from an apple fanboy who created accounts to spam.
I picked up my Sensation today, and the only thing that bothers me is the dang voicemail icon that's always there. Other than that. This phone is pretty awesome, and T-Mobile's network speeds compared to what I was getting with Sprint makes me wonder how in the world I stayed with Sprint so long.

Yeah. I don't understand why we all can't get along. We all have the same passion for the same devices. I guess newbies ARE annoying..I can agree on that. But flaming for no reason is so rude and nonproductive.
So far I'm quite happy with my Sensation. Best device I've had and I've had quite a few. However, it does seem that the Sensation is being pushed aside. At Bestbuy today there were plenty of accessories for the 3D including the Otterbox cases but absolutely nothing for the Sensation. Why? I'm not sure but its becoming rather annoying as this seems to be the case everywhere so far.

[Q] Does anyone know how to Unlock the Infuse 4g - Simple Terms Does it Work?

Hey this is only my Second phone I have messed with and I haven't even messed with this Infuse 4g much, but already like it far more than the Gravity or Gravity 4g. I am wondering if anyone can give me a Turn by Turn if you will on how to unlock this phone. I also have not kept track to what has been discovered in unlocking this phone and if rooting it was ever proven to work.
Thank you

The one thing I hate about forums/texts is that attitude is easily misconceived. It wasn't meant rude but most of the things I post come off that way sadly (perhaps I should stop posting lol).

Gorilla Glass is a heat treated tempered glass with incredible resistance to scratching and cracking due to short drops. But when you put a phone in your pocket it can be subjected to twisting and bending forces it is not designed to withstand. The phone was probably getting upward pressure from your thigh and upward pressure from your abdomen/waist and being flexed in such a manner created forces that cracked the screen. Phones with large format touchscreens should never be carried in this manner, as you can see from your unfortunate results.
From what I have seen on the net these phones are one of the easiest smartphones to disassemble, but LG USA will do the repair for about $75.00. Beats taking it apart yourself to save $20 IMHO. Call them, set up the service and send it in for repair.

Blaze Rom.. Debloated?

I recently installed Blaze; while it is a very detailed Rom that shows an immense amount of time and hard work, I prefer a minimalist approach.
However, my question is I followed the instructions to the letter and still had bloatware installed! Am I missing something. I thought it stated it was Debloated?

I have come to the conclusion that you sir are a condensing egotistical person.
Perhaps I could have been a bit more clear, but I do state that the Rom "is very detailed ", and "shows an immense amount of time and hard work "!
I just had a question pertaining to a potential issue that I have due to something I.. Me... Myself.. Might have done incorrectly.

Holy misunderstanding Batman!
When I said it's hard to hold my tongue, it's not necessarily that i'm holding back from reaming the guy on his rom, it's because what you said almost prompted me to give my opinion on it. Being that I just flashed it yesterday and said that I would run it through the weekend before forming one, your insight almost made me go back on my word. Reason being, I flashed v2 when it first came out and formed a quick opinion on it without even taking the time to set it up to my liking....I didn't want to do that this time around.

So if next time it's not written there for you in black and white, instead you feel the need to interpret the meaning of what I wrote, you're probably sticking your foot in your mouth again.

Hopefully next time ur in a similar situation you will get clarification before jumping to conclusions. I could see how you could misinterpret what I said but the reaction was a bit much even if I did mean it the way you interpreted. And you also might want to consider the irony and contradictary nature of your post before you click "post reply". Bashing someone for posting their opinion (or your assumed and misinterpreted opinion) with a post of your significantly more abrasive opinion seems quite the contradiction wouldn't you say? But no harm, no foul, apology accepted

I'm not sure if it is possible to create a higher capacity battery while still keeping the same dimensions of the original battery. If it was that simple, shouldn't HTC have done this themselves?

People who feel the need to scold or correct others is a bigger problem here than any caps IMO. Been here at the One S forum for less than a week and had my fill of it. Wasn't this bad at the G2X side.

People who feel the need to scold or correct others is a bigger problem here than any caps IMO. Been here at the One S forum for less than a week and had my fill of it. Wasn't this bad at the G2X side.
I know......I'm doing it too.
But the needless scolding, mean-ness, and bad attitudes ruin this great forum IMO.

You are right about the pointless scolding and correcting. I wasn't trying to offend anyone, I just found the topic annoying to read and I think I may point that out. That doesn't say I agree to attack the op about it.

Sorry, I'm just shocked at how dumb your overall post is in general. Not just the question but the OMG OMG OMG bull****... It's stupid and it makes people ignore you because you seem childish. Are you having a panic attack or something or is that how you talk in day to day conversation too?

I wouldn't do such a dangerous manipulation. The One S's battery is already excellent so I would not consider changing it before a long time.

OK so to answer your question there is a way to change the battery say it becomes unusable, (Direct from T-Mobile tech support ) you can bring in the device to a service store and they can replacement it for you or upgrade it with an extended version that's made for it and there is a battery / case you can buy that fits over the device and doubles the life of the existing battery and protects the device at the same time.
Once I get mine in the mail this week (buy one get one free, I got two) I'll pull one apart and try to change out the sdcard to a 32gb (I guess it's gotta be cut on the left side to fit) and I'll report back with how I do.
But for the short answer, No and No with a side of lost topic abuse. Good luck...........

Teardown video. Can't watch now, but from the freezeframe, doesn't look like there's an actual "sd card" you can replace.

Actually it's been done already but I'm having a hard time finding the read through on it again but it shows you how to cut the SDCard ( along the side , it has to match the one taken from it.) so that it will fit the holder it locks into, it's not like the standard slot it actually has a plate over it.
If I find the breakdown again I'll post it but it actually doesn't look that hard to do but I think it didn't matter what kind of card it had to be as long as the casing was cut correctly.
I'm just not going to let this 32 gb SDCard go to waste even if I ruin one in the process I'll try anything once. I have pretty good hands though and because I'm use to soldering boards I think it shouldn't be too bad.
(If the information I got was correct too, you never know with the Net though.)
The information about the battery is valid though a tech at T-Mobile did say there is a battery that is made that will fit the case that you can upgrade it too but I didn't ask how much.

I'm very curious about this. I did a search last night, but couldn't find anything. Saw many interior pics but nothing w/ a card visible.
Any idea where you saw it?
The speeds from the internal storage are way faster than a typical micro sdhc, I'm not convinced that someone will find an sd card slot in there
