My experience leaving the great G2x for the Sensation

Enjoy the read. I was once on the fence to which is better and more stable.
Now its no second guessing after a weeks of use with the sensation which is better.

Honest review I guess. I personally think you should have waited or flashed CM7 before jumping ship. You'd be much happier with the more powerful G2x with a fully working rom.

Stop. There are enough stupid threads clogging up the forum without another kid telling us about how great the buggy, slow, locked sensation is. Just get on with your life already.

wow, you know what roms I flashed? lol I did man. CM7 was nice, but buggy. I had a n1 with CM 6 nightlies and they were much better.
Good luck with the G2x. Im just happy I gave the sensation a try cause I was all about cm7 and what your saying....

I honestly think the G2x is better all around. Better screen, processor, Rootable, etc.
The G2x doesn't even have gingerbread yet. It will be just pure awesomeness then.
I do respect your decision and wish you well with your Sensation.

As I always say to those that serve. Thank you very much. My family and I appreciate your hard work and dedication keeping us safe.

I sure hope GB fixes a lot of the issues and that it comes out soon. The g2x is a really really nice device, but those damn bugs. I know the sensation has them too but not nearly as wide spread.
I really would have liked to keep the g2x. hell if they release a good g2x when back in stock. Ill pick up another.

I think the dust under the glass bothers you more than you think. The paragraph you wrote describing it is longer than everything else

I'm from Hawaii and I have more friends and family then I can count on my fingers and toes who has/are serving in the military. Some who have been on multiple deployments to Afghan and Iraq. And yet none of them have ever said or pulled the "I served your country so give some respect." #justsaying
anyways good luck with the sensation.

They didn't promise anything about the sensation. This phone was a month from release when that was announced. U had to know they meant phones after the sensation and Evo 3d

He saying people getting tired of waiting they could just let people know if it's getting unlocked or not so people can abandon this phone for a rootable devices. As of now it don't seem like apps are utilizing the duel core power anyways thinking about pulling out my nexus s and enjoy being untamed.

Rightly said...they shld mk the policies more clear coz when I called customer care they said asian users hv still no access to full htc sense... Bt no where it is mentioned. So kind of sm hidden facts they follow bt never wanna disclose...this makes the confidence a bit low in them....

This is like the 8th thread about the same thing. There is one Rom avail. If s off was availble u will be complaining about the one rom that is present and u want more. U have root and u have the overclocking ability now. U know what u were getting into during the purchase. The ones that are complaining should have just held out till s off has been implemented.

Humans are working on s off not robots. The phone isn't even a month old so pull down your skirts and stop complaining. They already said the developers are bricking their phones trying to get s off correctly. So do u still want them to rush it? Than that will be something else you guys can ***** and moan about. No, we don't have the overclocking ability with the Sensation, only with the Evo 3D, get informed before taking such a superior-I-m-more-adult-than-you tone.
We can only downclock so far, it won't go over the stock 1188Mhz.
As it was said here before, whether HTC unlock the Sensation and the Evo or not, they could at least answer YES or NO. It has been one month with not a single official piece of information from HTC about this.
The work of devs on these devices is amazing, no need for them to rush in, they already did better than HTC did, when for HTC unlocking our devices would just be so easy.....

Last time I checked which was last night there is a overclocking ability for the sensation. Maybe u need to take a trip to the development section and look at something marked 7/9 there are updated batch files for overclocking temp root and perm temp root as well as bloatware remover

What do u want them to keep doing? Check in everyday? Answer EVERYONE individually. Your not helping the process by complaining and demanding. Be patient that's all u can do.

HTC has committed to unlocked their bootloaders. The S4G will be included with those.
This thread is redundant, please read my sticky on bootloader matters.
That being said this thread is now closed. Please stop posting bootloader speculation threads.

Stock Android Rom for HTC Sensation 4G

I really, really deeply despise HTC Sense, its worthless, is there a Nexus One/Nexus S style Generic Android Rom for this phone. It has to be 100% stock Android.

So you bought an Sensation (which MAJOR selling point is Sense) for what reason??

CM7 nightlies will be here soon (hopefully) Meanwhile you can try nosense script and some mixed ROMS (meaning it has some things from Sense and some from AOSP)

P.S. hate to admit, but Samsung has done a better job this time. I just prefer looks and feel of Sensation. But after experiencing few problems with it , if I had a choice again, I'd probably go SGS2. Not a fan of Samsung or HTC, I'm a fan of good quality equipment.
Just read somewhere that nexus prime is going to be Samsung parts in metal body. Now that is something to look out for.

Yeah I know. Both of them are top of the range, high end amazing devices. Don't see why it's so sensitive. Just depends on your preference. For me, the look and resolution of the Sensation took me to the dark side

I was on G+ on a CM developer and on the post about Sensation port this guy was just insulting CM7 saying it sucks, yet it takes time and effort to develop. I'm a developer myself (not for Android) and I know how it feels to have your work disrespected.

I'm amazed at how some people can act like little children.
I never used any of Scott's work before but I've heard he turned out some pretty kickass stuff.
*sigh* People will never learn.

When people ignore mods telling them to knock it off, you know it's not going to end well.
Maybe a timeout for a day or two will let cooler heads prevail in the end.

I understand, if I was in Scott's position I would probably do the same. I just thinks it's funny how things clearly say what to do, and someone still messes it up.
I just sucks that people have to take it so far as to blame the dev for not doing something. When it for one flashing any thing has always been at your own risk, and two getting pissed off, and posting a nasty thread instead of just asking for help politely.

I'm pretty sure he is on his rom forums, maybe, just maybe if those people apologize, and we all ask nicely he may come back.
His work is great, I mean the s3 forums are donating to get him a phone. That alone should say something.
Now we are down to, we'll one sense rom that is kept up. And our aosp roms which can't progress much more without source.

I agree... Ban them, god I hope Scott comes back, one of the only reasons to keep this phone. I was worried and stated that this could happen, I saw it in the Vivid thread.
I hope he reads this and realizes that there are way more that appreciate his work more then complain about it. If he did leave I can't say I blame him, just hope it doesn't happen

So I have a few choice words that I think this entire forum should read, but its mainly directed to whomever was talking crap about Scott. And I don't know who it was. And I apologize for the occasional profanity, but its stuff like this that really hits home for me.
As developers, we try to enhance the user experience of our phones for the good of the community. We don't get anything out of developing besides the occasional donation that someone gives us since they like our work. We aren't forced to do the work that we do. I can turn around right now and cease all development on the two ROMs I do (AOKP and Evervolv) for this phone. But I don't. Want to know why? Because of all the people in the threads saying "Wow, this ROM is awesome! Thanks Rohan!" and "This made my phone really awesome! Thanks!". If I didn't have those people then I wouldn't feel like updating the ROM. Even if you aren't using my ROMs and you drop in to say "This looks awesome, though I will wait for more stability!" That feels good too since you know someone still liked your work.
When you have someone calling you "selfish" and "annoying" it gets to you. When you put your work out, you want it to be the best. When it isn't the best, you try to make it the best. Thats why I and every other developer on XDA update and fix bugs. We want the ROM to be the best it can be. Thats why I stay up regularly till 2 AM looking up new Android features and the Platform Guide on the android developer site. I want to become a better developer for the community. Not for myself, but for the community. When you have someone degrading yourself, you feel like ****. And when you don't feel good about your work, you feel like the community is not enjoying your work. At that point it becomes a "why bother even updating this" sort of thing.
So when someone is being an asshat in the forums against you, it hurts. If you think that putting these ROMs out benefits us, the developers in any way besides the infrequent donation, you are sorely mistaken. We put these ROMs out for the community. I enjoy making ROMs for the community because I like to see all of the "Great job!" posts in my thread. It vindicates my work and proves me right that I can indeed make a ROM people like. Sure, the donations are an added plus and they help as well.
And now onto the "selfish" part of that statement. Are. you. effing. kidding. me. Seriously? You call us selfish. After staying up late hours to get a ROM out for YOU, you turn around and call us selfish? I dont even know what to say to that statement. We are not "selfish." You think putting our name onto a ROM is the best prize in the world? Why the flying f*** would we need that? So that people know my name? Are you effing kidding me?
So whomever it was, GTFO. The work that we do as developers benefits nobody but the people of these forums. We, the developers help make XDA how great it is. If you don't want to deal with developers, please, go back to stock. We don't need you to run our ROMs.
And to the rest of you, thank you for showing your support. Its a sad day when someone as nice as Scott is lost due to a few spoilt brats in the forums. And please, if you are using a custom ROM and you are enjoying it, tell your developer that you like it. Tell them that this phone became better because of their work. I promise you that we read the posts when we have time. And whenever we do it makes us feel a bit more warm and fuzzy inside.

So the little whiney, self-entitled b!tches of xda strike again. Seriously, f*ck all of you little twerps that posted anything disrespectful to Scott. He's amazing, and makes an amazing ROM and you should all be ashamed of yourselves for driving him away. I swear to god, I hate what xda has become. there are only a select few that put in any hard work for the rest to reap the benefits of, and there are always a sh!t ton of brats who think that they paid for these ROMs when they paid for their phones. It doesn't work that way, you sniveling little d!ckheads. These devs don't work for the manufacturers, the carriers, or xda- they do it FOR FREE, FOR US, because they kick ass, and they deserve nothing but respect from ALL OF US. Seriously, I am issuing a blanket F*CK YOU to every douche on xda who ever talked sh!t to or about any dev here.
I am going to go through his threads and anyone I see talking any sh!t to or about Scott is from here on out permanently banned from receiving ANY of my case giveaways.
Gunny, kleeman, rohan, or any of the other forum regulars that I interact with on a regular basis, if you would be so kind as to help point out who the offenders are it would be greatly appreciated.

Sad thing is like at least 4 people had the same issue, and it's all from lack of reading.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Scott state a long time ago like cleanrom 2.1 days that CWM caused issues? And Scott also said he loved CWM and hated to switch from it?

Yep, back when the SD card wiping issues first started happening he told everyone not to use CWM and to use TWRP instead. Buuuut people don't want to do any actual reading so it becomes Scott's fault for not showing up at their doorstep and holding their hand for them when they flash his ROMs, cross the street, take a piss, what have you. Bottom line is if you flash, you assume ALL risk. It's your own damn fault for not reading. Even if you're flashing an updated version of the ROM you've been running for months, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS read the entire OP for changelog, flash instructions, etc. The moron in question said that it's because his xda app didn't put the warning in red but bottom line is it was still there. Had he READ THE ENTIRE OP, he would have seen the warning whether it was red, green, blue or purple with pink polka dots. His own damn fault, and at this point I'm glad his phone got eff'd up. Serves him right.
