Lets get evild a g2x!

I'm sure many of you are firmilar with evild's work on the n1, mt4g and other highend devices. I happened to flash his 3.0 rom on my wifes mt4g sand got to chatting with him. Hes interested in getting a g2x, so I told him id attempt to orchestrate a collection of funds to buy him a g2x. First things first, what will a no contract g2x cost? What is the cheapest anyone has seen one for sale off contract? Secondly, if anyone has an upgrade they are willing to donate, THAT WOULD BE PHENOMENAL! I'm good for $100 to start things off. If you find one off contract for cheap, please post links! Moderators, please feel free to get involved.

That is why I hate xda bunch of free loading crack flashers that don't help the Dev. community just piss people off and whine for help when they get in trouble....... count me in for 20 bucks

Does he plan on making a sense port for the G2X might wanna specify what his work will entail, I'd be very happy to donate to the cause if he could get sense to work on the device... Pretty sure it won't/can't be done. I'll stay tuned in nonetheless.

Very good question... I can only assume so, since alot of his work is done with sense ui. I sent him a pm with the link to this thread, so as he reads through it, I'm sure he'll clarify on that.

haha yea a little part of me died when the sense roms stopped for the N1

Yea, I guess I didn't miss it all that much because I went straight from the n1 to the mt4g. So I almost immediately had evil support again lol.

have you been on the internet long? people are people. and you'll find people like that on any forum. i've seen people talking like that online since before the internet was mainstream. it's not only xda. there is no way to stop it. so just get used to it. but, i got your back on voicing your opinion as well. what xda needs is a dislike button. i've seen them on other sites. and after so many dislikes,your post gets hidden and members have to click "show" to see it.

People like you thinking it's ok to use these Roms for free without donating a dime is a FAIL!
These Devs work hard and long hrs. to make these roms for your phone to function and look better!
So a little donation wouldn't hurt for you to give!
Or better yet if you don't, don't bother commenting on it!
Don't look at it as paying for there phone, but rather an advance for work they are going to do for you!

Your idea is ingenious. I will take it up with a friend whose a mod here and see what he thinks. Not sure it will get too far but you never know.

That is a very good idea. Giving thumbs down to certain posters would warn other readers at this forum. It would also be useful against scammers who steal the Dev's work and pawn the mods as their own begging for donations. There was one on the Samsung Epic forum last year and on the Asus Transformer forum a few weeks ago.

I've been on the internet for awhile... a lot of forums and yes I know there are always negative people... I can be one of them... at times... but I hate how broad the ignorance on this site is..

G2x replacement with Gingerbread

Spoke to a rep about getting my G2x replaced yet again #4 as this thing is getting constant reboots *stuck to stock OS to see if it was true* he explained to me that the latest G2x's are updated with Gingerbread and the displays have been fixed and I did not even mention the display...
Tomorrow it will be here. Lets see if this guy did not pull it out of his ass and was being true.
Will keep this thread updated.

Tomorrow the update will be here? Yea. Sure. Honestly I don't have any issues with my phone but it would be nice to get an update.

That is not at all what I said. I said they are sending my replacement and it will be here tomorrow and the rep said it would have GB I didnt even request any of the info just wanted my damn replacement.

No. I only made this thread because I told them to call me for my replacement when the G2x problems have been solved.
I got a phone call they mentioned all that ****.
I dont believe them but the fact that they called me back to tell me this 2 weeks later and so i can get my replacement is pretty bad ass.
So we will see what happens when I get the new G2x

This is right, we honestly have no idea when this is coming. I check our internal information DAILY and nothing has been updated. It comes when it does, anyone who gives you a solid date is wrong as of this moment.

Well, if you do receive a G2x with the update, you can post the files for us then.

Going to a concert at an abandoned warehouse in Detroit, it'll be fun, kind of sketchy because in like the worst part of town, but should be fun none the less. But I got the day off of work today so I'm flashing my new nightly and enjoying the freedom.

I'm doing some casino boat ride Friday night with a couple of friends, hopefully everyone behaves themselves. You are lucky to have the day off today. The next time I'm seeing freedom like that is sat. I also need a new rom to flash.

What kind of rom are you looking for? AOSP or Sense? I've definitely been in love with CM7 Nightlies. I used the stable and the RC and they were alright, but the nightlies have been awesome for me.

Just want to say I am enjoying the change of regime. You all are really mod'ing it up, and it is an improvement. Thank you.

That's the thing I don't know what I want. Both aosp and sense have their pros and cons. This is what happens when we have great devs that spoil us with so many great roms. I'm a fat kid in a candy store . Gonna probably give stardroid a whirl later on.

i was on sense up until i started on gingerbeast. i ABSOLUTELY LOVE it. Battery life is great, it's fast, its smooth, its clean. No program incompatibilities or programs crashing. it's really nice. and the only tihng i really missed was a proper dialer with t9 and both dialer one and go contacts/dialer solve that problem. i'd highly recommend it if you want something clean, but the only caveat is that di11igaf, the guy that made the rom, left att recently he has promised us an update, but tehre's no telling when it will come out.
as for me, i'm trying to decide between ARHD 5 and stock rooted. arhd juts has a bunch of stuff and mods so i've found it to be slower than i like, but stock rooted is only froyo :\
anyways, back to off-topic - nothing big going on tihs weekend so i have time to relax with my family

I would suggest rumrunner. It is pretty much a stock gingerbread build tailored for the inspire.
This weekend for me will consist of plenty of job hunting. Damn unemployment.....

The worst part of Detroit? I think that qualifies as the worst place in America. This weekend I'm taking my wife to the Oregon Coast for our anniversary. Since summer finally arrived in the PNW, I figured it's time to get outside. I may even leave my Inspire turned off. Dun dun duuuunnnnn!

Oh, trust me, I'm all for good laugh. But you know how sensitive whole sgs2 vs sensation thing is, even a joke will cause a war.
P.S. hate to admit, but Samsung has done a better job this time. I just prefer looks and feel of Sensation. But after experiencing few problems with it , if I had a choice again, I'd probably go SGS2. Not a fan of Samsung or HTC, I'm a fan of good quality equipment.
Just read somewhere that nexus prime is going to be Samsung parts in metal body. Now that is something to look out for.

Yeah I know. Both of them are top of the range, high end amazing devices. Don't see why it's so sensitive. Just depends on your preference. For me, the look and resolution of the Sensation took me to the dark side

I hate people that disrespect devs. Thumbs up to them for porting it.
I was on G+ on a CM developer and on the post about Sensation port this guy was just insulting CM7 saying it sucks, yet it takes time and effort to develop. I'm a developer myself (not for Android) and I know how it feels to have your work disrespected.

With as much time as we spend on here, did you ever wonder what everyone looks like.

How much did you know 6months or a year ago. We can't all be MZ or Fjfalcon (much respect), but we all contribute something, if only as much as a hand hold through something. Case in point LM and me today on Bravo.

Exactly, that was Rev MZ and HM for me too, I always feel like helping out if I can, it's like an obligation since the guys that were on here when i didn't know a thing helped me out pretty well and never flamed me when I was asking really n00b questions that time, so I feel I should give what I got.
**LM don't worry, IT IS funny, I agree, maybe that's why we (i think i can safely speak for the 2 of us LOL!) don't know what's happening on the dev threads half the time.. LMAO!

Well Rev accused me of being a troll once, I was new and on khal's V4 I seen 4g signal on my phone and I asked about it wondering how or what he did, I assumed he tweaked the radio and got us 4g! I didn't know **** about radio's then didn't know it was impossible all I know is I seen it lmao! Then after he accused me of trolling others came forward and were saying they seen it too so it was just a mystery after that. But I swear I was showing 4g signal! lmao

Got that once too IIRC, when the "official Cincinnati bell froyo" was released, I was posting all over so excited and all, then realized that I was hours late and didn't read first.. lmao! Looking back it was pretty funny..
