arabic - HTC Sensation

hello again
i have EU Rom 1.35.401.1 and i have two questions.
1- why the hell is the bottom bar not transparent anymore and its said to be only done by vodafone's rom but i think the rom i have is unbranded right????
2- how can i get arabic letters support for this rom as the arabic letters i have are not connected and messed up
this is not a question but i want to open a thread for these two things and discuss it
thank you
VIPER

1. It's never been transparent (neither was my Vodafone Sensation before getting the unbranded handset)
2. Don't think you can, you need the Arabic ROM (which you can't flash unless you have the Arabic handset)

i do have an arabic handset and its unbranded but i can't flash the arabic rom. i had arabic support before with the old rom but i had to intall a different rom due to errors in the rom. and its still not transparent i mean its not clear and smooth

You can't flash a different ROM on the Sensation - you can only flash ROMs that match your vendor number. For example, I can only flash ROMs that are x.xx.401.x (which is the EU vendor code and NOT the Arabic one, which is x.xx.415.x)
And the dock has NEVER been clear - it's always been as it is. On the Desire the custom ROMs have set it to be transparent but stock HTC is solid as it is on the Sensation

i flashed this rom
RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.35.401.1_Radio_10.43a.900 7.00U_10.51.9007.27_M3_release_198179_signed
and it worked but i lost arabic support and the bottom bar seems to be not smooth

1)it has never been transparent
2)the Arabic letters issue for now u can only use
>twitter for sense and friend stream gadgets for social networks
>firefox for web
till we have S-off

thnx for the reply but what about the bottom bar of the launcher. it seems a bit ugly. something is changed and the curve is not that smooth
or maybe am smocking crack alot

The only way to Install Arabic Rom on your device now is to have S-OFF !
So you have to wait till developers crack that !

ok pple now i hope this thread will be helpfull for other guys related to the arabic text, and sry for the bottom bar problem, i figured out that i smoked expired crack yesterday . and another thing, this phone is with me for a week now but i realy fell in love with it.(L)
cheers

I'm wondering do you have an S-off Sensation ? cause I've heard the one they sell here in Egypt is S-off, not from a reliable source though.

nope its S-ON but build quality is good and does not have any defects such as touch unresponsivness or death grip.

oh okay thanks for the info, I got mine from the USA and the only issue I have is a bit of creaking when pressing on the bottom right corner, other than that everything is fine.

Any Mandarain/Chinese custom WM 6.5 rom available??

Hi all, I haven't been up to date and keeping up with the scene lately (I'm now using a newer phone, Nokia N900). So ya i haven't been using my Touch Pro all that much..........so forgive me for asking some stupid or noob questions
U see, my mom needs a phone just like the Touch Pro with the slide out keyboard that can type/txt in mandarin. And since my Touch Pro was purchased in Taiwan, the keyboard naturally has the mandarin characters on it, and since i'm not using it anymore i thought i'd give it to her.
But I remembered using the phone for the very first time, the stock rom was slow and crap. That's y I installed EnergyRom on it, and since i prefer english then it doesn't affect me. BUT as for my mom, her english sucks balls, so now i'm left with 2 options, either restore it back to the stock Taiwanese rom, or try to find a custom rom with chinese support......
I would prefer the 2nd option, because the sole reason y i found this forum and got into all these custom roms, is coz they're just so much better. I love EnergyRom for the speed and pure awesomeness, so would prefer if i can use a custom rom that has chinese support.
By chinese support, I mean using the keyboard to type chinese. I know there are programs like CEStar etc but those are slow and my mom wants to use the keyboard to txt instead of using the stylus or software keyboard.
So ya, does anyone know any chinese custom rom?? I already Googled for the past 20 mins and found none, i did find a few chinese forums but all their custom roms are just copied from here........
Lastly, what does "WWE" mean?? I saw a few topics with that in their title, but forgot what it means.
Update:
I'm about to download the stock rom coz i might decide to use it, but then i read something important in the middle of the page. It seems it'll change the radio version as well, is that possible??
Can someone please confirm this?? Coz i remembered the radio version of the stock rom sucked, that's why i changed it to a different one and is also one of the main reason y i installed a custom rom.
Also, i can't exactly remember the process of setting up your phone so that you can get it ready to install custom roms. All i can remember is something about the HardSPL?? So my question is, is it possible that if you install the stock rom, it'll restore the HardSPL back to the factory settings and everything else that was modified?? I.e, will i have to reinstall all that crap again?? Or is ROM the only thing that will be changed?? I'm just kinda unsure about this since the radio version might be changed, and i'm not sure if i can change it back to the one I want after installing the stock rom........
Here's the page if anyone can read chinese/taiwanese:
http://www.htc.com/tw/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=140&cat=2&dl_id=527
BTW, i did find a lot of custom chinese roms, and one of them is even THE SAME as EnergyRom, which is the June 19th 2010 build, it looks EXACTLY the same except that it's in chinese......most of the roms are very up to date, mostly updated to June 2010, and I actually just installed one of them and it's got chinese fonts alright, the output works fine and all but the hardware keyboard output doesn't work, it's still in english and doesn't output the corresponding chinese character that you type on the keyboard. So ya i'm still looking for solutions if anyone's got any.
Edit:
I found this thread and it has the language pack for Taiwanese (but the link is dead). I'm not sure how to use it though............can someone plz help?

[Q] Changing the Design?

Well I want to pre-order my Sensation now (20th of June first stock on UK :O)
but something is bothering me.. I was in the UK 2 weeks ago I think (MUN vs Barca match :O) and I tried the Sensation on Vodafone and the Galaxy S II on somewhere else.
I didn't really notice any major difference, except the little uhm... "un-completely-smoothness" in both of them.. but that's usual if I understood correctly. (I mean not like the iPhone or something like that)
Still, the Sensation and in general any HTC device attracted me because of several reasons- one was the design of the system. (The lock screen with the ring, the bottom bar with the Phone and Menu buttons and all of this) and I wanted to ask:
If CM7 will come to the Sensation (as I saw in one thread here), will I be able to use CM7 on the Sensation but change the design to HTCs' original design? (As I mentioned above)
Thanks! and sorry for the length of this ><
When the bootloader of the device is finally unlocked, we will most probably get CM7 support. CM7 is an optimized stock gingerbread rom and you will get the standard stock android interface and design. You can't have Sense functions on CM7, such as the lockscreen and the widgets because it's a different rom (operating system, actually). So, no you won't be able to have the Sense interface on CM7. And there's no point in doing so - if you like Sense, just keep HTC's stock rom .

[Q] Unroot Desire S + S-ON again?

yes you can. with a little bit of research, it should have already pointed you on how to.
Ok so if i root it i go change the host file to block ads and unroot it and swich it to S-ON will the changes i've made stick and the ads be blocked as this is the only reason i want to root my phone for now?
Nope, it won't work like that. If you want to go back to S-ON and unrooted after S-OFF you would have to flash an official update from HTC, which would basically mean losing all your data, so if you just want to block ads, that's not a way to do it. However, there are hundreds of other reasons why you would want to unlock your phone, besides blocking ads. A few to mention are overclocking, backing up all your apps, using custom ROMs, small tweaks and hacks to improve performance, hell, even changing your boot animation. You'll have absolute(almost) control over your Android experience.
There are a lot of well written guides in the development section that will get you well on your way. Just have a read through the index thread. Once you get started, a whole world of opportunies opens up for you

What he says.
I Previousely had an Xperia X10 but that got stolen. I rooted that and played with the boot logo and a bit with the overclocking but it did not make that big diffrence (might just not used the right tools). Compared to the standard ROM of the Desire S to lets say cayanogen mod: How reliable is it and will my htc sense still be working? My one big concern is the warranty.
Oh and is there stock ROM's for a South African network or will the UK one work for South Africa?

Ask that question on the CyanogenMod thread as I believe who posts there are their users. They should be able to answer you much more accurately.
Also, I believe CyanogenMod does not use Sense. (correct me if I'm wrong, i don't use that rom)
Once you've change something (hacking, rooting, unlocking, s-off), your warranty goes bye-bye. Again, a lot of threads out here already that topic.
You should have checked the Desire S Shipped ROM Collections thread. There is a high chance that the roms there are the ONLY ones available. But there might be still out there. Your answer should be there.

[Q] Two questions

Hello everyone, respect for community!
Short and precise...
I have two questions about Sensation...
hope it wasn´t asked before...
...mine one is still all stock regarding software with s-on (still waiting for possible dust issues, and that custom roms become final without any bugs)
First one, when in the next few weeks HTC rolls out official ICS OTA, and i upgrade, will i still be able, if i dont like it, to get s-off, root and flash some of custom roms?
Second one, i have silicon soft case and have issues with slower 3g/wifi speeds, so can you recommend any case/material without that issue?
Tyvm for answers
And to all female members happy Woman´s day!
Hey. For future s off, revolutionary will have to be updated to match the new version, so nobody knows
As for the case, I'm using a hard plastic case and I can say I'm really happy.. no more deathgrip
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using Tapatalk
The case I use is HTC SENSATION 4G / SENSATION XE GEL SKIN CASE by Qubits. You can find it on Amazon
I have had NO problems at all!!! This case has been awesome for me! If you have your phone face down on a desk, the edges of the case are raised to protect the screen.

I would recommend You S-OFF Your device. Becasue custom ROMs are much better then stock. There's no way that You'll find a custom ROM without ANY bug. Always is a possibility that You'll find a minor bug in it.
I recommend You a CoreDroid ROM which is stable, fast, smooth, looks awesome, just perfect! Check out my sig
As regards a case. I use Screen Protector HTC SP P540 and Pouch HTC PO S621. I bought my Sensation in december and still looks like new!

full hebrew rom

hi,
my friend gonna buy i727 and want a rom with full hebrew interface on it .
i think the only options is full aosp roms like cm9 . i saw that there are few roms in the development section based on UCLA3 and UCLD2 . is anyone of them has full hebrew?
No. Wait for CM9, we have an alpha build available now in the dev section, try that
so, you want a jewish phone? just cut a piece of its foreskin and VOILA!
Tell your friend hebrew sux pretty bad on everything technological based. You can try hebrew windows and get pissed, facebook hebrew and get pissed and of course same for the phone's interface.
So unless its for an adult-old who cant get along with hebrew I don't really see the point.
Best option for him is to get a phone that is available here is Israel and just flash one of the companies hebrew embedded rom.
