I did the temp root a few weeks ago and disabled some bloatware through adb. I've since rebooted several times and the bloatware that I disabled does not show up in my app menu. I'm guessing it stays disabled. Btw, I have fastboot enabled if that makes any difference.

Yes...I'm a noob at this but this is what I did.
1. I used this guide to get set up to do the temp root.
2. I used this guide to do the temp root.
3. I used this method to disable bloatware.

Oh, I also used this video to help me out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t9AXZWcFQU
If you just follow the guides/video, you should be able to do the temp root and disable bloatware. That first guide will get you set up with everything that is required for doing the temp root, the second guide and the youtube video will help you actually do the temp root, and then the third guide will help you disable apps. You can post in those threads if you need help in any of those steps.
First read this. It was stickied to the top of the forum you posted in.
Second, more adb help here.
Third, best method for temp root here.
Fourth, tool to disable packages here.
If you uninstall from Titanium they will return once you reboot. Disabling them they will stay disabled (but installed) unless you wipe your phone.
If you cant figure it out after all the info is provided, please go here.

I picked up a G2 yesterday, played with it, used the G2 Forum here to get the steps to disable a bunch of stock apps, and am now pretty sure I am going to go swap it out for a MT4G (the hinges are way to loose).
My question is can I follow the same steps for disabling some of the same stock apps on the MT4G as I did on the G2?
The steps were root the phone, launch a terminal, and just type in pm disable followed by the package name.
I have not tried that yet. Am hoping this will work the same - they is a lot of TMo junk on this device.
Will be trying it on Monday, and if no one else posts on it before then, will do so.
Read the threads before posting, your answer is here already.

Yes you can. I did the same steps and got the same results. Only difference is the app list between the two devices.

That thread refers to how to "force remove" apps via Titanium, which is NOT the same thing as using the pm commands referred to by the OP. Using pm commands manually is the same thing as using Titanium's freeze function, and will allow you to receive OTA updates. "Force removing" apps on the other hand will not allow you to receive OTA updates, in which case, according to that thread at least, you would need to get a ROM that would allow you to flash back to stock. And, as far as I'm aware, this is not possible on the MT4G, as system writes are not possible. So, if I understand things, I wouldn't go the route of "force removing" apps, but rather, stick with "freezing" them with Titanium or using the pm command.

Is freezing them with titanium permanent? Or does this have to be done at every boot?

Freezing is not permanent, as in it can't be undone. But, it does survive a reboot, even with fastboot turned off. The reason is is that the changes are written to the data partition, not the system partition.

And freezing will allow me to still get the OTA? I deleted a bunch of apps & couldn't get the update so I reverted back to stock but I still wanna get rid of the bloat. I figure freezing is safer than deleting anyway...

Yes (I need a 10 character reply.)
so i recently used superoneclick to root my phone. The program said my phone is rooted yet when my kernels etc are the same as stock. I have superuser on my phone but how do i change the kernels etc so that i can use non market apps like wireless tether?
Kernels can be changed with new ROMS. Rooting means you get superuser permission on the terminals so things can be changed.
i dont understand what you asking about non market apps? But you can use apps that required root.
Hope i helped.

Try barnacle(it's in the market) for wifi tether and you need to download and install busybox in order to use titanium backup, and be careful what you remove because you could brick your phone...

Thank you for the barnacle thing, i havn't removed anything im having issues using anything that requires root access, just unrooted my phone.
Can anyone give me a step by step to rooting it? I simply want to remove sprint ID and have my phone run faster. Cant think of any apps i would really need.
Download z4root here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=446145&d=1290341328 transfer it to your sdcard and use a file manager to open it(if you don't have one download astro) install and run it, choose permanent root, and let it do it's thing...
did that, still isnt working, thank you though.
it appears anytime i try to run an app it says something along the lines of not having root access, even though it is rooted
Weird. Hmmmm. I meant i dont know much about your phone. I know that when my root got effed, i just did a factory reset and re-rooted and it worked.

You could try installing Rom Manager from the market. If it works you will be able to flash a custom recovery, backup your device and flash a custom ROM.
Give it a go and let us know if it works.
cool so i followed the video, then it wasnt rooted, so i used z4root apparently it took two things to fully root my phone. Not sure why, some sort of sprint failsafe?
Although i forgot to set a backup to sprint features, so im a bit screwed down the road.
You prolly can find a sprint ROM somewhere. Or you could do a factory reset, not sure of that will bring back the sprint apps. Dont they have the sprint apps on the Android market?

That would be my video. AND no, you are NOT rooted if you flashed that tar. All that tar does, is make your phone STOCK with custom recovery, to ensure a nice clean platform to work with. You would hold down volume down, voice button, and power. let go when you see samsung, and then apply an update.zip for the kernel. i do have a video on how to root the Android 2.2.2 and it's a proper root video. Sorry for the confusion.

Oh snap! Ok sending donation as soon as I get on my laptop!
Has anyone yet provided a step by step video by chance? I know nothing about adb stuff as I've never had to use it so reading the firewater instructions I'm a little lost :/. Haven't tried installing weak sauce root either yet, is this easy or a video? I believe i need weak sauce root installed first? Then S-Off, then I install twrp? How would I install twrp and after I do install does it then install full root then can delete weak sauce?
I'm sorry I know this literally was release an hour ago but just hate to brick my device out of ignorance and not knowing. Appreciate any help for someone like me that doesn't use adb or sure of the methods and steps here.
I believe a few people are working on videos as we speak. Should be done soon.

It looks like we have R/W access without doing this after firewater. I've added/removed stuff from /system without any issues(apps, priv-apps, stuff from the media resources, etc)
edit: I've done probably 20 reboots with no issues along the way of modding stuff and still everything is fine.

You do not need this kernel mod after you have S-off'ed and perm rooted.
I have personally tested this. All system changes survived hard reboot (via adb reboot)

I posted a guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708628
tried to install a boot animation with rom tool box didn't stick
Dears,
I'm having a problem in which I don't know how to solve, I tried searching before opening this thread, I found many who have similar problems but I can't do what they do to solve it, I'll explain why.
Problem: I have a ColorOS OnePlus/64GB - the seller had mentioned that he flashed the latest update of CM11 into the phone. I received the phone and it works perfect, can not love it more. However, I noticed that these apps (Root Explorer + Titanium Backup) are installed, I downloaded "Root Checker" to see weather my phone is rooted or not, and it tells me that my phone is NOT rooted. The problem now is how do I uninstall these apps? it seems they are "system apps", so they can not be uninstalled from Settings>Apps.
In all the other threads, topics, the answer would include (a rooted phone) to get rid of these apps, any solution? as I have no clue in Android developing, please bear with me.
Regards,
You cant delete sistem files/apks without root.
You cannot uninstall system apps without root. You will have to unlock your bootloader and then obtain root in order to remove these apps.

Would it be possible to just flash another stock ROM that doesnt come with these apps ?
At the end of day you'll need root. Just remove it using titanium back up, it's easy to do and I doubt there's a stock rom that just removes those apps and that's it. If you're looking for a custom rom, Mahdi is the best in my opinion.

this is the link for the root method https://download.chainfire.eu/982/C...Auto-Root-heroqltetmo-heroqltetmo-smg930t.zip
i did not tryed it my self yet. but if theres a user that rooted their phone that way, let me know.
bump
I don't think this will work unless we get our Bootloader unlocked (which hasn't been done yet as far as i know)
UNLOCK BOOTLOADERS
If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device - with the exception of Nexus devices, which will usually automatically "OEM unlock" and wipe your data !
this is kind of lame.... why chainfire release a auto root if the thevice have bootloader locked down? and onlockable?
Confused myself
I want to say root is possible, there are tons of sites with instructions: https://www.google.com/search?q=SM-...i57j0j69i60.9343j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Of course, XDA doesn't seem to have a specific G930T thread for rooting with instructions, then see threads like this today. I was all set to give it a try, but unsure if should proceed...
Did find this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s7/help/sm-g930t-root-doesnt-void-warranty-t3415936
EDIT: so the one linked in original comment was the bleeding edge root process and seems like had a really high failure rate. Most current I've seen is: http://lifeatsamsung.com/root-t-mobile-galaxy-s7-sm-g930t-2/
Seems a little more clean cut and easy. I'll edit again if I find a newer solution or at least commentary on success/fail
In comments OP posts:
Yes I am planning to make a video tutorial.

Worked for me, no problem. Even installed the debloated, deox'd ROM. Unfortunately after root you will need to follow rest of guide, otherwise you will see some lag issues.
On the other side of it, phone is great, fast, if not faster than before, and got root. Let me know if you would like some screenshots proving a TMO phone is rootable or if can answer any questions

This means that the only rooting method right now isn't as stable as it would be if it had a unlocked bootloader the root right now will cause some issues but they can easily be fix from some of the steps after rooting guides that are in the xda forums and yes it using a Qualcomm processor Witch is pretty much the snapdragon and there hasn't been any luck this past year of getting the bootloader unlocked for full and smooth rooting I'm really ****ty at explaining sorry if your still lost
The Chainfire method he released does NOT work. I'm not sure why he released it...maybe he knows of a future bootloader unlock that we don't know about.
