Internet radio setting - HTC Sensation

I was told to set my sensation in the mobile network setting to gsm/wcdma auto and then go onto the testing menu and change it there to cdma auto prl but it won't stay on that it changes itself back to wcdma preferred .....
Why is it doing this and how can I get it to change and stay changed.
I was tips to do this because it would save battery but won't lose speed for the internet.
Thanks for any help with this

You can turn data on and off. There is actually an HTC widget that toggles data on and off.
Go to the market there is an app that you can use to toggle on stock rom. Just search 3G.

I found a way to turn off 3g/4g and have Edge enabled by going to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > here you can toggle from WCDMA Only; GSM Only; GSM/WCDMA Auto (default). Selecting GSM Only switching my connection to Edge. How can we create a shortcut/toggle for this option?

There is no such option on the Inspire 4g.
*#*#4636#*#* is the option. Dial it. Go to phone. Scroll down. Select gsm only.

Yes. I use it to keep mine on gsm. I also used the stock widget to keep data turned off
Turning off 4G speed is easy. Turn on the phone, it doesn't exist
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Using: *#*#4636#*#*
Then selecting GSM does not work for me..still reverts back to 3G "H+)
Any other suggestions? Do I have to root to get access to all the grayed out network options?
Thanks

3G/mobile Internet won't turn on.

I have tried rebooting, turning the mobile network option on and off, airplane mode on and off, removing battery and sim, but my 3g won't turn on. No symbol in the notification bar or anything.
I'm in the UK on vodafone.
Any suggestions?

Go to your dialer and type in "*#*#4636#*#*" click on phone information and after that scroll down till you see a drop down menu click on wcdma only or on wcdma preferred.
That should do it..

Thanks, I tried that but no change. It's like its not coming on at all, usually 3g watchdog comes on when I switch to 3g but nothing is happening.

Hmm.. are you on the stock Rom or on a custom Rom? Also has it worked before or you've just bought a new piece?

Your SIM card could be old, remember when you get a device you should ask for a new SIM. Some one had that same problem and their SIM card.
Had the device since June, stock rom and brand new sim. Has worked fine until now.

Go into the settings and double check all the APN settings are correct. Maybe somehow the settings have been lost or changed.
This is strange. I checked the apn settings, the only option was UK vodafone contract (that's correct) , the address underneath said wap.vodafone.co.ukextendedcontrols (hmm)
I recently tried extended controls but uninstalled cos I didn't like it. So I just installed it again (I guess my refund / uninstall didn't work!) and added 3g toggle enabled it and lo and behold my mobile network is back.
I check apn settings and now the address just says wap.vodafone.co.uk!
Looks like it's fixed. I guess extended controls modified the apn address and then I uninstalled it, which left it reading the wrong address!
Woooo!
Thanks for the replies!

First make sure 3g is on, then open your dialer and dial *#*#4636*#*#
From the menu that now pops up, select phone information, then scroll down and under preferred network type, select WCDMA preferred.
That work?

Check you have the correct APN settings active.
Settings > Mobile Networks > APNs >
Google the APN for your provider then compare to what's been loaded on there.

GPRS connection Problem

Hi All,
I'm using HTC Sensation XE past 4 months. For last 3 weeks I'm facing this issue pertaining to GPRS wherein the "E"sign remains but the ARROWS below that don't highlight, add NO data transfer takes place. This roughly happens after every 2 days.
Now I've tried both:
1. Disabling/Enabling MOBILE NETWORK
And
2. Disabling/Enabling FLIGHT MODE
After umpteen attempts with both still the GPRS doesn't start working. The only way it starts working is by REBOOTING the phone.
Is this my Carrier issue or problem with my Phone?
I'm really really annoyed with this problem and shall greatly appreciate all the help provided here.

What is your carrier?
Anyway try manual settings for mobile networks for your carrier.
First switch off your mobile, remove the sim card and wait for 1 minute. Now re-insert the sim and power on your mobile.
Go to settings --> Mobile networks --> Access point names
Edit the access point with proper name, apn, proxy, port, username (generally blank), password (blank) and others.
Also check is APN enable or disabled.
NOTE: Change or edit all these settings by disabling the data traffic.
After making the changes, reboot your mobile.
If you still have the problem, contact your carrier's customer care. This could be problem from their side.
My carrier is AIRTEL and mine is a Corporate connection. Yes the APN table is preconfigured as always no changes in that. Also once I tired to rename it differently and then reverted the changes to check if GPRS worked but alas.
I'm just concerned if this problem is pertaining to my handset as I've tried all options and permutation & combinations to get GPRS working BUT rebooting only get that thing alive!

Hi All,
I've attached the screenshot of APN settings is which is correctly set. Also just now the GPRS went off with the E sign present and the arrows below it non highlighted (in grey color as in the screenshot).
I just restarted my phone which made my GPRS to come alive.
I'm seriously irritated and need help ASAP. Really disappointed to see no helps popping in.

HTC U11 Drop 4G Network { Latest Android 8 Stock}

Hi
I just got an HTC U11 (128 GB/6 GB) and I updated it to the latest Android Oreo Software No: 2.33.401.19 /Stock No Root
And after update I deleted cash and hard reset the device.
My problem is 4G network drop ....... when I go to the basement the network drop from 4G to 3G, and when I go back upstairs or out of my home, where the 4G network coverage is available the phone keep with 3G network .
Nothing change until I change the network mode say for 2G and get it back to 2G/3G/4G Auto then I will get a 4G or 4G + for a while then it will drop again to H and 3G network !!!
Any fix for this issue ?!
Any body face such an issue ?!
Regards,
Update
After trying the code { *#*#4636#*#* } then phone information then Set Preferred Network Type: according to my Mobile service Support I have to select LTE/CDMA/GSM auto but that option is not available in the list instead there is another select menu item LTE/CDMA/UMTS auto, after selecting this there is no way to save it even after restart.
the selected item by default is LTE/UMTS auto (PRL) ...... and there is no way to change it !!!!
any idea guys

The settings is fine
but I believe that it's some power saving thing implemented in the firmware where changing networks take some time longer than other smartphones.
