Gb oc kernel - Verizon Droid Charge

So no gb oc kernel yet for ep1f leak?
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App

There won't be any OC kernels for GB till we get an OTA and source is released.

the only hope for those who like to oc before than, might be if tegrak overclock in the market gets updated to support ur gb kernels
it loads a module (similar to how voodoo sound works on non source kernels) that allows for overclocking and undervolting (think how the dx does it)
it wont perform as well obviously as a source kernel...but for those who care it could tide you over
that being said i have no clue if it support the charge .35 or not

I'm back with Gingerbread Kernel goodness for all.
As always, I am not responsible for Borking for phone if you do. It's your brick, you made it.
Note: Only works with SAMSUNG roms, not AOSP based roms. In addition, if moving from 1.1 to core-A/B please remove boot settings in Voltage Control before flashing.
Includes:
Voodoo Sound 10
Voodoo Lagfix
Insecure boot (ro.secure=0)
cfq scheduler
Planned:
bfq and more schedulers
TinyRCU
Possible GPU-OC
and more to be determined... Tell me what you want!
Use CWM or Kernel Flasher by Neldar to flash your kernel, and as always if you need to UV, use Voltage Control from the Android Market, brought to you by Xan.
Update with GB-1.1
Interactivex governor
Tweaks with Ondemand
1400 and 1000 frequencies enabled.
Bootanimation support. (non-Hellraiser roms, rename to sanim.zip instead of bootanimation.zip)
Update with GB-CoreA/B
New Frequencies 16-12-8-4-2-1 (A) and 14-10-8-4-2-1 (B)
InteractiveX Gov Tweaks (now a load based gov, max when over a certain load, lower when under, sorta like Smartass for CPU load)
Implemented modified Entropy initramfs tweaks.
GB-CoreA/B2
FFC Fixed.
Updated for AT&T GB Leaks (J series)
For a workaround to wired and wireless tethering, use wired and wireless tethering workarounds for the time being, both have been working for me, and make sure with the wireless that you set it as an SGS/Galaxy S in the settings. This will work for the Hellraiser rom-patch. Make sure you choose the top one in both download areas linked above.
Thanks as always to everyone in the past who have worked on an SGS kernel/phone (Netarchy, Hardcore, Unhelpful ect)

With the regular gingerbread kernel, I had some lag but with this one there's barely any! Overclocked to 1600 and undervolted abit and everything is running silky smooth!
Very very impressive!

[Q] can someone help me overclock?

ok guys i dont know weather its me or not
but i had flashed some kernals the are 1.5ghz but my quadrant score wont go up than 3010 highest i got.
some people on youtube shows them more than 5000 so i was wonder what was i doing wrong
at the moment im running CM7 lates build 158
and i notice some kernals wont work with lates buil
what kernals can i flash to overclock my phone as fastest?
and how.
thanks in advance
Try the cm oc/uv 0.4.2 kernel by faux, install setcpu (free to members here, don't have link at the moment). Inside setcpu is where you adjust the kernel speeds. From what I've noticed, a custom kernel will be clocked around the normal kernel speed (stability reasons maybe) so even with custom kernels your not running as fast as you can.

i done the setcpu all the way to 1000 but it didnt seems to helped. i didnt go into profiles cause i dont know what im doing in there.
What kernel are you using? You have to use a custom kernel to overclock. Setcpu will detect the settings created by the person that made the kernel and allow higher settings. With the kernel I suggested you can go up to 1.55ghz

[Kernel List] HTC Doubleshot Kernels. February 21, 2012.

Kernels for the HTC Doubleshot. I'll update, and make it look more nice later. I put some time into this, so hopefully it's used. If there's any Kernels I'm missing, or info that's wroung let me know. Now I give you the First
::HTC Doubleshot Kernel List::
Basic Terms:
Undervolt (UV): An Undervolted Kernel is a Kernel that's supossed to bring in Battery savings. The higher the Undervolt, the better the battery savings. But this isn't with out drawbacks. Some CPU's can't handle higher Undervolts. So you'll have to figure out if your CPU can handle it. This can be done by starting at the highest UV, then see if it causes issues. If so, drop to the next UV (8%, 5%, 2%). If no issues (Like Reboots, Blackouts, etc.) Enjoy the UV.
Overclock (OC): This is simple, it's just making yours phones CPU go faster than it comes stock. Our device has a Qualcomm® 8260 dual core Snapdragon™, 1.5Ghz (But shipped at 1182Mhz). So an OC would be anything higher than a 1.2Ghz (Really 1.5Ghz). With an Adreno 220 GPU.
GPU: A graphics processing unit or GPU (also occasionally called visual processing unit or VPU) is a specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory in such a way so as to accelerate the building of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a display.
For the less geeky, it controlls anything based with graphics.
Icecream Sandwhich (ICS) : Android 4.0.X
Stock Speed 1.2Ghz UV 0%
OC 1.5Ghz/Slightly UV 2%
OC 1.5Ghz/Middle UV 5%
OC 1.5Ghz/Extremely UV 8%
These Kernels are made by tbalden. There to only be used with ICS Roms. There are both OC, and UV Kernels.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1505394
[ROM][Feb 19 2012] Pyr'o'Ice ICS Desensed 1.1.0 - Android 4.0.3, AOSPish, 1.5GHz OC
The Kernels are the 3rd post down, and updated when need be.
Gingerbread (GB) : Android 2.3.X
Note: Anybody using any newer Radios, or HBoots. Any kernel that isn't Stock might cause issues. Most GB Kernels where made for the Stock Hboot, and Radio.
How to flash these: Reboot into Recovery. Wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache, and Mount System. Then Flash Kernel. Wait 10 Minutes (For best results) Then do a regular reboot.
Stock Kernel
This is the Kernel that comes on the Stock Rom. No OC, no added parts. Just how HTC sent it. Use this if you want a super stable Kernel. Or flash a bad Kernel, and can't boot.
Thanks to Undead for making this flashable Zip. (Enjoy your GSII Undead)

Romanbb's Kanged Kernel v.0.1
OC to 1.512 GHz
[*]UV across the board
[*]Upgraded to .14 from .10
[*]compiled with Snapdragon optimizations
Theres two of these Kernels. They're both very unstable, and cause a lot of random reboots. They're for use for any Rom based of the Stock Rom.

By Nusferatu
Just a stock kernel with CIFS.ko , TUN.ko , NLS_UTF8.ko built in
Works fine for me except for 1 bug (it's related to cifs i suppose) :
- on samba server rights for folder\files must be 777 or cifs won't allow to execute\view any.

Unity Kernel va1 for Doubleshot.
By the Unity Team
- 2.6.35.14
- 2WCR ( 2-Way Call Records)
- NOOP I/O Sheduler
- SLQB
- OC 1782Mhz (1.8Ghz)
Default Speed 1512Mhz (1.5Ghz)
-JHash3
-Flash disabled @ 10% Battery & 5 Degrees Temp.
-Lower Wi-Fi Voltage
-Wi-Fi PM_Fast in Standby
-Tweaked Governors
-VDD SySFS Interface
-Fixed Scaling Cor_Freq
-GPU OC up to 320Mhz
-X2 Kernel Compression
-Cifs/Tun/UTF8
This is the only Kernel made by a Dev Team.
Heres the Website http://www.virtuousrom.com/
This Kernel is "Stable" any clock speeds above 1080Mhz causes issues, reboots, etc. But IMO this is the best Kernel for any GB Rom. This can be used with MIUI, any Sense 3.0, and Stock Based Rom.
The Download Link for this Rom is Broken, so I'll upload it later tonight.
I'll Upload any Kernel, to any File share site on Request.

Correction - the maximum processor clock speed as recommended by the manufacturer is 1.5 - HTC nerfed it down to 1.2, so saying it's a 1.2 processor is not accurate.
The GPU is the Adreno 220.
I'll toss more tech specs in later.

[KERNEL][CM7/9] Custom Gingerbread kernel [2.6.32-61][v1.0 RC2]

Custom kernel for the P999, Gingerbread version
--- Smooth, Fast, Efficient ---I've been requested to make this kernel because development for gingerbread (and ICS/JB hackfest) is dead for this device. You asked for a fast and responsive kernel, here it is. 'nuff said.
Original work by Faux123***Like always, I am not responsible for any damage to your device related to the use of this kernel!***
Instructions
1) Flash any compatible ROM (CM7 or hackfest)
2) Send the kernel's flashable zip to your SDCard and install it via clockworkmod recovery
3) Reboot
Afterwards...
- First boot might be slower, this is normal
- Adjust the overclocking in Settings->CyanogenMod Settings->Performance->CPU Settings. A Max CPU Frequency of 1015mHz is recommended if overclocking is not required. Remember to tick "Set on Boot"

So this is my first gingerbread kernel. It's based on Faux123's work, which is already well updated and relatively stable. I backported several memory management features which makes a good increase in overall performances and smoothness. This, of course, required some adaptations since they are "normally" only compatible with linux >2.6.37.
I will also investigate the CM7 bluetooth audio bug with the newest firmware. This is why I updated those drivers. If this issue is kernel-related, then there's something I can do.

Yes of course. Try it first and if you still get BSODs I will need a kmsg taken during the phone call that caused the issue.
Concerning the charging BSOD, I've been testing this kernel for some days now and left the phone charging most of the time and I had no problem at all.

Actually it's possible..Sometimes, BSODs on android are caused by a bad CPU frequency management from the governor. In some cases, the frequency would drop too low and the device will then crash.
If that's the case here, changing the governor to smartassv2 and updating it might've fixed that issue.

Ofcourse. It was the CPU governor, as increasing the min frequency to 51x MHz eliminated the BSODs during calls too. It was mainly occurred when screen turns on and off during call or during charge. Ur governor must hv fixed it. Anyway. One request. Can u get us the boot.img version for this kernel? as dual boot doesn't work without it.

[Q] OC Kernel for d2g running CM7.1 kang/pooka?

I've been looking and searching for an overclock kernel for my d2g which I finally have running CM7.1.0. Since the unit came with 629, I used the unofficial cm rom from kang?pooka? We all know it uses the gb leaked kernel 2.6.32.9, and the os version is of course 2.3.7.
Suprisingly, everything works great, but I'm just never satisfied unless I'm overclocking lol.
Advice on a daily user kernel that's compatible with this cm7 port? Not just any droid 2.6.32 oc kernel will work right?
[Edit]
Partially solved,
I used the Milestone Overclock and SetCPU combination, seems to be working ok for now...
You cannot swap kernels on DROID2/D2G/DX. Their bootloaders are locked. Unsigned kernels cannot be installed.
There are apps and governors that let you overclock the CPU, though.
Oh that explains my failure to find any oc kernels for it lol and I should have known, since I know it has a locked bootloader. I use SetCpu for underclocking, which I know has an option to pull custom freqs from a text file, but I have been hesitant to try that if the speeds aren't supported in the kernel.
I'll look into it more and look at additional governors.

I made some progress, using Milestone Overclock to mod the kernel and SetCPU to control the clock. I found that I'm only stable up to 1340 Mhz with a vsel of 80.
This is progress, but I am more than significantly disappointed considering my last HTC Desire Z clocked from stock 800 to 1.5 ghz with no problems at all (besides obvious heat) lol.
I shall keep at it!
