Kernels for the HTC Doubleshot. I'll update, and make it look more nice later. I put some time into this, so hopefully it's used. If there's any Kernels I'm missing, or info that's wroung let me know. Now I give you the First
::HTC Doubleshot Kernel List::
Basic Terms:
Undervolt (UV): An Undervolted Kernel is a Kernel that's supossed to bring in Battery savings. The higher the Undervolt, the better the battery savings. But this isn't with out drawbacks. Some CPU's can't handle higher Undervolts. So you'll have to figure out if your CPU can handle it. This can be done by starting at the highest UV, then see if it causes issues. If so, drop to the next UV (8%, 5%, 2%). If no issues (Like Reboots, Blackouts, etc.) Enjoy the UV.
Overclock (OC): This is simple, it's just making yours phones CPU go faster than it comes stock. Our device has a Qualcomm® 8260 dual core Snapdragon™, 1.5Ghz (But shipped at 1182Mhz). So an OC would be anything higher than a 1.2Ghz (Really 1.5Ghz). With an Adreno 220 GPU.
GPU: A graphics processing unit or GPU (also occasionally called visual processing unit or VPU) is a specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory in such a way so as to accelerate the building of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a display.
For the less geeky, it controlls anything based with graphics.
Icecream Sandwhich (ICS) : Android 4.0.X
Stock Speed 1.2Ghz UV 0%
OC 1.5Ghz/Slightly UV 2%
OC 1.5Ghz/Middle UV 5%
OC 1.5Ghz/Extremely UV 8%
These Kernels are made by tbalden. There to only be used with ICS Roms. There are both OC, and UV Kernels.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1505394
[ROM][Feb 19 2012] Pyr'o'Ice ICS Desensed 1.1.0 - Android 4.0.3, AOSPish, 1.5GHz OC
The Kernels are the 3rd post down, and updated when need be.
Gingerbread (GB) : Android 2.3.X
Note: Anybody using any newer Radios, or HBoots. Any kernel that isn't Stock might cause issues. Most GB Kernels where made for the Stock Hboot, and Radio.
How to flash these: Reboot into Recovery. Wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache, and Mount System. Then Flash Kernel. Wait 10 Minutes (For best results) Then do a regular reboot.
Stock Kernel
This is the Kernel that comes on the Stock Rom. No OC, no added parts. Just how HTC sent it. Use this if you want a super stable Kernel. Or flash a bad Kernel, and can't boot.
Thanks to Undead for making this flashable Zip. (Enjoy your GSII Undead)

Romanbb's Kanged Kernel v.0.1
OC to 1.512 GHz
[*]UV across the board
[*]Upgraded to .14 from .10
[*]compiled with Snapdragon optimizations
Theres two of these Kernels. They're both very unstable, and cause a lot of random reboots. They're for use for any Rom based of the Stock Rom.

Just a stock kernel with CIFS.ko , TUN.ko , NLS_UTF8.ko built in
Works fine for me except for 1 bug (it's related to cifs i suppose) :
- on samba server rights for folder\files must be 777 or cifs won't allow to execute\view any.

Unity Kernel va1 for Doubleshot.
By the Unity Team
- 2.6.35.14
- 2WCR ( 2-Way Call Records)
- NOOP I/O Sheduler
- SLQB
- OC 1782Mhz (1.8Ghz)
Default Speed 1512Mhz (1.5Ghz)
-JHash3
-Flash disabled @ 10% Battery & 5 Degrees Temp.
-Lower Wi-Fi Voltage
-Wi-Fi PM_Fast in Standby
-Tweaked Governors
-VDD SySFS Interface
-Fixed Scaling Cor_Freq
-GPU OC up to 320Mhz
-X2 Kernel Compression
-Cifs/Tun/UTF8
This is the only Kernel made by a Dev Team.
Heres the Website http://www.virtuousrom.com/
This Kernel is "Stable" any clock speeds above 1080Mhz causes issues, reboots, etc. But IMO this is the best Kernel for any GB Rom. This can be used with MIUI, any Sense 3.0, and Stock Based Rom.
The Download Link for this Rom is Broken, so I'll upload it later tonight.
I'll Upload any Kernel, to any File share site on Request.

Correction - the maximum processor clock speed as recommended by the manufacturer is 1.5 - HTC nerfed it down to 1.2, so saying it's a 1.2 processor is not accurate.
The GPU is the Adreno 220.
I'll toss more tech specs in later.

Hey could you upload the Virtuous Kernel plz
Can anyone tell me which one works best for the miui port? I'm on the one that comes with the rom but I heard v1a might be better and is it oc/uv
Thank's aren't asked for but appreciated
we have some new kernels over in the dev. section so far we know they work for stock 1.28.531.9, 1.28.531.10, and Bulletproof.

Im rooted my desire Z yesterday to the gingerbread sense 3.0/3D rom.
im very happy that i have done it and my battery experience is either improved.
but my experience of the reaction time, smooth animation ect. were kindly bad
this is why i want to overclock my processor, but the rom included the new kernel 2.6.35.10 to be exactly. this kernel is not yet overclockable and i wanna know why.
- why make different kernels need different methods of overclocking
- why can it by bad if you overclock it to high.
- can i just flash another kernel to overclock my new gingerbread sense 3.0 rom.

if you overclock the processor of your device you can smoke your DZ
but if you do it with careful it is not bad for your device.
the kernel that you have its a stock kernel (factory kernel) and its not customized for to be over/underclocked... you should flash another kernel for to change CPU speeds...
nornally you can overclock your desire z (good machine mate ) 1.300mhz-1500mhz i not recommend to do overclock upper than 1500-1700... i had read some threads that some people was smoked his device (all with the proccessor QUALCOMM SNAPDRAGON 1ghz)another think its the freeze problem when you overclock your processor too much.. be careful!
and one important thing.. also its important if you do underclock.... don´t put it under 245mhz more or less because maybe your device don´t has sufficient power to exit of stanby mode
i recommend that ALWAYS do overclock with SETCPU.apk that its available free for XDA MEMBERS its the most safety mode
sorry for my english

right now i have revolutionary hd 3.0.3 rom. with revolutionary hd stock kernal. and in the setcpu i couldn't get more then 568 mhz speeed.
can anyone please explain and point me at the right direction.

most likely you need setcpu to auto detect your overclock...its a setting, click menu and then device selection
1.8 ghz is very unstable and could damage your device
Dont use setcpu.
Its better to leave it "ondemand". Its much safer.

Firstly, if you're on the stock kernel you won't get 1.8GHz - max on stock is 1.2GHz, so you'll need a custom kernel to allow those speeds. For SetCPU, go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All - go to SetCPU and clear data. Then go into SetCPU and select Auto Detect. It should then give you up to 1.2GHz.
You should not need Setcpu if you use Android HD Revolution Rom because the rom come with that overclock on it. Go look yourself. You will need root however.

Previously that was the case, but Revolution HD 3.0.3 has a script you can flash that applies OC to both cores. Revolution HD 3.0.4 no longer needs the script flashed on top and comes with a custom kernel out of the gate running at the processors true speed of 1.5ghz.

You probably won't be able to clock that high anyway... You'll must likely reboot higher on anything higher than 1786 mhz....

custom ROM + stock kernel = no OC
custom ROM + custom kernel = OC
basically you need to flash custom kernel, mike already posted in his thread for sensation custom kernel.
there is a kernel that support till 2Ghz, but i don't recommend though, your phone gonna be hot and the battery won't last long.
and on-demand governor is the best.
I got up to 1.7Ghz running stable using Android Revolution and an RCmix kernel i think it was. Battery drain was quite bad on that kernel though so switched to the stock Revolution HD kernel running at 1.56GHz, stable and good battery life
First as always, I am not responsible for any damages caused by using any files I release.
ok, right down to the point of this post.
I built kernel with the help of faux123 with OC/UV & GPU OC and have been asked to release it, so here it is:
Downloads:
iconiaN Kernel for A700 Final version
Currently it only clocks to 1.5GHz (Used SetCPU) more work is still to be done
GPU is OC'd to 520MHz
I welcome feedback and suggestions :fingers-crossed:
Please do NOT package these kernels with a custom ROM, instead point your users to this thread
Massive thanks to faux123 for complying with GPL, as I borrowed the GPU OC & UV from his kernel sources.
GPL States I should provide full source, so here it is: on GitHub
Wow. That's definitely a must have! I hope this will change the experience and launches apps faster.
Aren't the CPU and the GPU put together in one socket?
Will this kernel be packaged in iconiaN 2.2 by any chance?
I wondered why you wrote that the GPU is clocked at 1.5 Ghz. That`s a little bit too high in comparison with the mali 400 and other mobile GPU. Now I looked at your github and I see 520 MHz. A really nice Overclock too. Maybe you have clocked the CPU to 1.5 GHz?
I will test the kernel in a few minutes. Big THX for this
I was tired.
Was thinking CPU lol.
Yes it is a 520MHz sorry
I've not done the cpu oc yet though.

Vorbeth,
I downloaded and installed this last night. It was stable, but seemed to lag a bit. I think the OC of the GPU helps less than an OC of the CPU. Running the modified kernel OC'd at 1.4 seems to have a greater impact than OC'ing the GPU... it really seems like 1.3 GHz is not fast enough to support the higher clock speed on the GPU...???
Obviously, getting the both ramped up would seem to be the best scenario.
Your work on all of this for the A700 is very much appreciated!

Yes Sir! If 600 GPU aren`t stable, I think we can life with 500 too, when the CPU runs fine at 1,6 Ghz.
I`ve tested Wild blood(gameloft game with the Unreal engine 3, that works after I edited the build.prob) with your default kernel, and I think it was around 20 fps so I definitively need more horse-power

Battery Life, yes it may be terrible as its only beta version. Its not because of OC. Its because i have not included all the tweaks needed for battery life. Still its in testing stage. Reason for including OC and having only 1.2 ghz is to test whether its preventing the game lag. Generally when i OC with limits and intermediate ranges as 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3, mostly the mobile clock in 1.1 ghz and very rarely going to 1.2 ghz. So i skipped 1.1 and included only 1.2 ghz.. Just a testing.

Let's try again : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1950052 - it's a "fixed" kernel by codeworkx for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, my other device, which also had serious lags and freezes in ICS as our Galaxy R. Hope there is magic you can add from that to your kernel.
Ok now..included intermediate freq of 1100 and then the BFQ scheduler as suggested by Adam. Getting few compiler errors for BFQ. Will check it tomorrow.
And finally setup the environment for AOSP build. As Ubuntu 12.04 was not supporting all the branches to do AOSP build (though its gud for kernels), now setup a diff environment using 10.04. Will Start init/sync tomorrow.

I've been looking and searching for an overclock kernel for my d2g which I finally have running CM7.1.0. Since the unit came with 629, I used the unofficial cm rom from kang?pooka? We all know it uses the gb leaked kernel 2.6.32.9, and the os version is of course 2.3.7.
Suprisingly, everything works great, but I'm just never satisfied unless I'm overclocking lol.
Advice on a daily user kernel that's compatible with this cm7 port? Not just any droid 2.6.32 oc kernel will work right?
[Edit]
Partially solved,
I used the Milestone Overclock and SetCPU combination, seems to be working ok for now...
You cannot swap kernels on DROID2/D2G/DX. Their bootloaders are locked. Unsigned kernels cannot be installed.
There are apps and governors that let you overclock the CPU, though.
Oh that explains my failure to find any oc kernels for it lol and I should have known, since I know it has a locked bootloader. I use SetCpu for underclocking, which I know has an option to pull custom freqs from a text file, but I have been hesitant to try that if the speeds aren't supported in the kernel.
I'll look into it more and look at additional governors.

I made some progress, using Milestone Overclock to mod the kernel and SetCPU to control the clock. I found that I'm only stable up to 1340 Mhz with a vsel of 80.
This is progress, but I am more than significantly disappointed considering my last HTC Desire Z clocked from stock 800 to 1.5 ghz with no problems at all (besides obvious heat) lol.
I shall keep at it!
