Is this exclusive for mazel rom?
Or can we use this in stock ics?

Just flashed the kernel. For some reason unable to use WiFi. Not being detected. Initial reactions: pretty smooth. I'm on bb rom. Will test for a while and update.

buddy I used ur kernel , but the battery life is terrible,
I think it is because of oc , I set it to 1ghz but for some reason it stays in 1.2ghz, I checked in CPU spy...
so my suggestion is to delete the oc because no one is using it
although with this kernel the phone runs very smooth and snappy

Thank you selva for the effort buddy:beer: so
used the kernel for a while.
Pros
1. Deep sleep perfect
2. Zero game lag. Tried with Subway surfers
3. Silky smooth
Cons
1. WiFi not working/connecting even after wiping cache/dalvik.
As I don't have much 2g data left for this month reverting back to ardatdat beta 6.

Battery Life, yes it may be terrible as its only beta version. Its not because of OC. Its because i have not included all the tweaks needed for battery life. Still its in testing stage. Reason for including OC and having only 1.2 ghz is to test whether its preventing the game lag. Generally when i OC with limits and intermediate ranges as 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3, mostly the mobile clock in 1.1 ghz and very rarely going to 1.2 ghz. So i skipped 1.1 and included only 1.2 ghz.. Just a testing.

Will you add BFQ scheduler at a later stage? I have good experience with that and have been using it since I moved permanently to CM.

Let's try again : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1950052 - it's a "fixed" kernel by codeworkx for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, my other device, which also had serious lags and freezes in ICS as our Galaxy R. Hope there is magic you can add from that to your kernel.

Ok now..included intermediate freq of 1100 and then the BFQ scheduler as suggested by Adam. Getting few compiler errors for BFQ. Will check it tomorrow.
And finally setup the environment for AOSP build. As Ubuntu 12.04 was not supporting all the branches to do AOSP build (though its gud for kernels), now setup a diff environment using 10.04. Will Start init/sync tomorrow.

Nice work buddy! You can spare a lot of upload bandwidth by adding a '.gitignore' file. It tells git to ignore the specified files so they will not be pushed. Get one (specified for kernels) here: https://github.com/Adam77Root/android_kernel_samsung_i9103/blob/jellybean/.gitignore

Testers needed for CM10 kernel
Friends,
Need some testers for a new CM10 kernel. I have not even tried it as im doing some testing with ICS kernel in my device. So those who are about to test, have a back-up and then test this kernel. No special features added yet. Just wanna check whether its boots-up in cm10.

[Kernel] ardatdat kernel v1.8.1 [CWM] (2012-06-27)

Dear all,
The v1.8.1 kernel is ready!
I have been working hard these days to study on the touch panel source code and the auto-brightness source codes.
Progresses on the touch panel to make it more sensitive & a fix on auto-brightness are the major features of this v1.8.1 kernel. Below lists out the detailed features:
v1.8.1 (based on newest ZSLE6 kernel source)
==================================
- Support for all ROMs (including ZSKK5, ZSLE6, etc...)
- This kernel is not overclocked. In other words, stock frequencies are used
- Touch panel fully support 10 points multi-touch with better sensitivity
- Touch panel gets better performance under moisture & water drops
- Auto-brightness finally fine tune to an appropriate brightness level. Try it out!
- Doesn't support 2-way voice recording & off-machine alarm
- All features of v1.7 are kept, including Voodoo sound enhancements
Please kindly download the kernel below and flash through CWM recovery:
File: ardatdat_9103_kernel_v1.8.1_1G.zip

Mirror: http://115.com/file/e7ym8ypx#ardatdat-9103-kernel-v1.8.1-1G.zip
MD5: 5E5F1EE84F295748CC167E3BFD6A52A4
Next step: OC version will be released after 1-2 weeks
v1.7 could be found there:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633345
Finally, flash at your own risk! Please feed back how you feel and don't hesitate to give me a 'thank' & donations if the kernel works great for you
(Please refer attached images for the explanations on the auto-brightness fine tune logic. According to the chart, this kernel will not go extremely dark nor extremely bright. Thus making a comfortable brightness adjustment. Please try it out!)

Have you tried my v1.7 kernel? It already included the Voodoo sound improvement that makes a huge difference when comparing with my older kernel versions.
Of course, the newest v1.8.1 kernel has also included Voodoo sound as well! Try it out!
Testing will report back soon.

Yes, I can say that the auto-brightness level is far more comfortable & reasonable than the stock one
I flashed the v1.8.1 kernel over ZSLE5 with Neo Rom v2.1 but I cant find any difference.. First of all it took a lot of time to boot.. Secondly, my overclock freq doesnt exceed 1ghz. Prev it was 1.3ghz... Third I cant find any new app or any thing.. is that ok??

Have you seen my #1 post first? Before flashing the kernel?
As I said, this time, I do not do any overclock, so the frequency is stock.
Second, it takes time to boot is the normal behavior that also happens on v1.7 because I have also cleared the cache & dv-cache during flashing.
Please read thoroughly at post #1 before flashing any things. Thanks.
Waiting for OC version ; any chance of GPU/RAM OC as in Cranium kernel ? I've also noticed that Nexus scores higher than GSII and GR mostly because of RAM speed.
I'm trying this new kernel, I installed it two hours ago, everything's fine for the moment.
I'm afraid of the problems I had with 1.7b2, the sleep of the death. At night, while it was recharging, it used to enter to a state where it wasn't possible to wake it up. I hope that's solved
The speed is very good and also the sound, if you use poweramp and increase the preamp level a bit, you'll not miss unkn music.
Auto brightness is much better.
Thanks ardatdat, very nice work!

[Kernel] ardatdat kernel v1.8.3 [CWM] (2012-07-22) ** NEW RELEASE **

Dear all,
The v1.8.3 kernel is ready!
Special thanks to Adi_Pat for the ram hack coding!
So, if you are worry that this kernel will brick your machine or not stable, you are suggested not to flash this kernel. And if you have flashed it, you can always go back to previous kernel.
v1.8.2 is a private beta, in order to avoid confusion, I mark up the public release version to v1.8.3.
The major updates are listed below:
v1.8.3 (based on newest ZSLE6 kernel source)
==================================
- Support for all ROMs (including ZSKK5, ZSLE6, etc...)
- Available RAM increases to 853MB (increased by 129MB when comparing with stock)
- This kernel can support OC to 1320Mhz. By default, it is not OC, you need to OC using software like SetCPU
- Touch panel revert back to 5 points multi-touch as it is more stable
- Support EFS auto backup! EFS is auto backup to /data/.ardatdat/
- TCP/IP & SD Card tweaks are applied
- All features of v1.8.1 are kept, including Voodoo sound enhancements, auto-brightness control and etc
Please kindly download the kernel below and flash through CWM recovery:

For HOTPLUG, check TITANIUM kernel.
If you're also interested in GPU OC check CRANIUM kernel.
And I was just wondering; there is a guy on Antutu Benchmark that has Android 2.3.7 - 1920 MHz - 4841 (score). How's that possible ?
downloading!! huhuh..
yeah very much appreciate if CM release for this device. and your help would be greater in the development.

Yes RAM gets allocated according to the kernel version you flash. So if 1.8.1 did not have RAM hack GPU would get the default allocation and you'll get 724MB free RAM.
After flashing 1.8.1 check the Task Man what you see there is what you get.
Hope this helps.

Set the user agent of your mobile's browser as 'Desktop' then you can download data from mediafire.
Here's how to do it:
Change stock browser's user agent:
Type 'about:useragent' in the stock browser to select 'Desktop' from a list of user agents available.

[Kernel] JB/ICS Kernels V2.57 Linaro 12-27-12 Flashable zip works with ANY ROM

First off, here is the github
https://github.com/pio-masaki/at100-kernel.git
Everything I do for this kernel is done there.
Now that's out of the way, here are some highlights:
Beginning of OC code (yes, an OC ICS kernel)
Added a slew of governors for your choosing
Added a couple i/o schedulers
Slight CFLAG tweaking
This is a work in progress!
If you have issues feel free to report, but this is my first ever kernel project, and it may take some time for me to address them!
Dos and Dont's in this thread:
No flaming, please. If someone asks a question thats been asked before, simply remind them and if you would, link the post or thread containing the answer. Replies like "Use search" don't help at all. Saying "Next time, use the search, the information is here" is of course what I would like to see. XDA will be better for this.
No ETAs! I can not, and will not, make any promises on when I can fix, build, or otherwise even think about this kernel, or any rom, period. Asking for ETAs, even politely, will either go unanswered, or reminded of this note.
Issue reporting: I always welcome issue reports, of course, however keep in mind, the point made above is also covering this, I may not have time to address an issue immediatly, though I will try to post back and acknowledge that I have seen the issue, or to ask further questions. Please include as much information as possible, settings for speed, governor, IO, profiles in use for screen off (which I advise against), cpu control app in use, etc. Dmesg would be nice as well, use pastebin, we don't want to see an 8K line post of a log
Changelog:
Experimental V0.1 10-02-12
First "release" for testing. This is internal build 8, and from this point on, will be labeled and numbered as releases, IE if this does ok, next will be Alpha 1, or experimental V0.2, etc.
Added OC code
Experimental V0.2 10-05.12
Second release for testing. Does now include the CODE for voltage control, but is not enabled yet. I didn't enable it to help prevent issues with instabilities from UV being confused with kernel issues. GPU OC is active, 320/400 MHz 2D/3D. Does not play well with ICS, CM10 use only.
Experimental V0.3 10-06-12
Rewrote alot of the upper end speed/voltage/timing code from 1.508 to 1.472, VT, haptic feedback fix? Proved unstable to the point of being unusable. Pulled.
Stable V0.4 10-06-12 "Caspar"
Reverted to V0.1 OC code after the disaster of V0.3. Left out voltage control code, implemented GPU OC as previous in V0.2, VT is enabled, possible haptic fix (not likely). Governors and IO schedulers should remain as before, min/max settings should remain as before. 1.5 is likely still broken.
Experimental V0.5e "Melchoir" 10-18-12 ICS only
All new CPU Speed tables, overall max is lowered from 1.5 which froze to 1.478, and more speeds in between. Those who used the Shiva Kernel will be familiar with the speed range. GPU OC is bumped up 20mhz in 2D/3D. SmartassV2 code added. The kernel has branched since V0.4 and is now a JB and an ICS specific design, one doesn't work for the other anymore, sorry to say. "Melchoir" is the ICS branch kernel, "Balthesaur" is the JB branch kernel which is included in the CM10/Kuroikaze builds.
"Melchoir" V2.4 ICS
Experimental support of CIFS and slight config changes to maybe improve kernel performance. Branch from "Caspar" and includes speeds, governors, IO schedulers and any previous bugs. 1.5Ghz is likely still broken.
"Balthesaur" V2.75 Linaro JB NON OC
Experimental fixes for ExFat corruption issues.
No CPU or GPU OC
Built with Linaro 4.7 toolchain with some optimizing tags turned on
Retains Governors and IO Schedulers from the OC version
Instructions
Download the zip from the link given below
Boot into CWM
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik cache
Install from zip
Install the kernel zip
Reboot
First boot will take longer as the caches are being rebuilt
Let kernel settle for 10 minutes
Reboot
Let kernel settle for 5 minutes
Begin normal usage and setting up
System Tuner has been reported to work with great success.
Downloads
Experimental OC 1 | Mirror
*note* 1.5Ghz is unstable, please limit to 1.4Ghz for testing.
Experimental V0.2
*note* 1.5Ghz is unstable, please limit to 1.4Ghz for testing. Only for CM10.
Experimental V0.3
*note* completely unstable, pulled.
Stable V0.4 "Caspar" ICS
*note* 1.5Ghz is unstable, please limit to 1.4Ghz for testing.
Experimental V0.5e "Melchoir" ICS
*note* does not boot. See change log for information. ICS only kernel. Please have V0.4 zip handy in case this kernel goes ballistic or doesn't boot, etc.
Experimental V2.4 "Melchoir" ICS
*note* likely retains the 1.5GHz lockup issue.
Balthesaur V2.75 Linaro No OC JB ONLY
Non OC kernel by request. Built with Linaro and current 2.75 source. For use with Jellybean ROMs only. Retains IO Schedulers and Governors, just no CPU or GPU overclock at all. Possibly includes fixes for exfat corruption (planned for U6, but may as well)
Revert kernel
Favum ICS kernel | Mirror
Use this in CWM, same as before, to restore the boot.img and modules for Favum ICS, it may work for other Official based ICS, may not, untested.
Notes and Updates
Mirrors added, V0.1 initial release
V0.2: GPU OC 320/400 MHz 2D/3D. Does not play well with ICS, use only with CM10.
Kernel naming and what they mean:
As the kernel development for Jellybean gained momentum, changes to the kernel source and drivers made the kernel no longer compatible with BOTH ICS and JB, so a new branch needed to be built, one for each android version.
Caspar = The trunk kernel, the first base which all other kernels are built from, contains the original OC settings, governors and schedulers, but not much else, pretty stock.
Melchoir = The First branch, this is for ICS only, and is slightly more updated then the JB kernel, but not by far, is pretty stale development wise while I work on the JB kernel.
Balthesaur = The second branch, this is for JB only, and is the more updated and recent and heavily developed kernel by far.
Each kernel release is still compatible with ANY ROM, however it MUST be of the proper android version, Meclchoir should be flashed only to ICS and Balthesaur should only be flashed to JB. Caspar, should you choose to use it, is ICS only as well.
Do not flash these to other android versions, including Honey Comb, they may boot but they will certainly not function correctly.
FAQ
Q: How does this work with any ROM?
A: Installs by taking apart the current boot image, replacing the kernel binary, repacking then reflashing the boot image, and copies the matching modules into your system/lib folder. It keeps the existing ramdisk, which is why it works in between both ICS and JB.
Q: Where did you get your source changes from?
A: Source changes are coming from ezTerry and Godmachine, with guidance from Godmachine. Changes by ezTerry may come from other places, however I can not verify that, and its from his github.
Q: Is this included in any ROM?
A: Yes, this kernel is included with my CM10 builds, including Kuroikaze-Thrive
Thanks go out to:
First off, godmachine / linux society! We've had our spats (rather, I've had mine) however his guidance made this possible.
ezTerry: for giving us the first modded Acer Iconia kernels, also basing some of this work on his work on ezT20 kernel.
Da-pharoah for as always encouraging my work and to try new things.
tybar over at thriveforums.org (he may also be here?) for his work on CM10 and supplying the initial source this began with.
The rest of the guys pitching in over there!
Very excited to see a kernel! Could you possibly post a stock kernel as well that can be flashed back to if needed as this gets refined? Just trying to cover all contingencies.

That depends on the ROM being used so no, I hadn't planned on it. I probably could but its per ROM which is quite a few lol

Ok. Was just thinking of a backup in case. Flashed it to favum and letting it settle right now.

On jbreezy darkside ROM v2 he modified the ram disk a bit would that interfere with installing this kernel?
Edit: nevermind you said it keeps the existing ram disk
Could you make a revert for his darkside ROM? Sorry for being a pain

Yeah unless something is different with the kernel binary as well, which I doubt, it shouldnt cause a problem.
As far as I know its the first kernel from source for ics so I don't think any issues will come up.
Edit: I'll try to get a revert zip up for dark side as well, the favum won't work, different ramdisk I think.

For the device this forum is for? In other words its for the Toshiba thrive 10" tablet. Flashing this on anything else can lead to no boots or even bricks. Its for any ROM, not device.

I nearly was going to brick my phone /: maybe not cos your updater-script might have been aborted but the main thing was I could not download it because of some sqlite error
God damn goo.im I've been waiting for an oc ics kernel for a minute.. A long minute
me checking the site every minute isn't helping probably either
Can I flash a kernel for similar phone which has similar buttons and screen resolution and sensors but different board base and hope it works?

[KERNEL][CM7/9] Custom Gingerbread kernel [2.6.32-61][v1.0 RC2]

Custom kernel for the P999, Gingerbread version
--- Smooth, Fast, Efficient ---I've been requested to make this kernel because development for gingerbread (and ICS/JB hackfest) is dead for this device. You asked for a fast and responsive kernel, here it is. 'nuff said.
Original work by Faux123***Like always, I am not responsible for any damage to your device related to the use of this kernel!***
Instructions
1) Flash any compatible ROM (CM7 or hackfest)
2) Send the kernel's flashable zip to your SDCard and install it via clockworkmod recovery
3) Reboot
Afterwards...
- First boot might be slower, this is normal
- Adjust the overclocking in Settings->CyanogenMod Settings->Performance->CPU Settings. A Max CPU Frequency of 1015mHz is recommended if overclocking is not required. Remember to tick "Set on Boot"

So this is my first gingerbread kernel. It's based on Faux123's work, which is already well updated and relatively stable. I backported several memory management features which makes a good increase in overall performances and smoothness. This, of course, required some adaptations since they are "normally" only compatible with linux >2.6.37.
I will also investigate the CM7 bluetooth audio bug with the newest firmware. This is why I updated those drivers. If this issue is kernel-related, then there's something I can do.

Yes of course. Try it first and if you still get BSODs I will need a kmsg taken during the phone call that caused the issue.
Concerning the charging BSOD, I've been testing this kernel for some days now and left the phone charging most of the time and I had no problem at all.

Actually it's possible..Sometimes, BSODs on android are caused by a bad CPU frequency management from the governor. In some cases, the frequency would drop too low and the device will then crash.
If that's the case here, changing the governor to smartassv2 and updating it might've fixed that issue.

Ofcourse. It was the CPU governor, as increasing the min frequency to 51x MHz eliminated the BSODs during calls too. It was mainly occurred when screen turns on and off during call or during charge. Ur governor must hv fixed it. Anyway. One request. Can u get us the boot.img version for this kernel? as dual boot doesn't work without it.

You are using the beta-test version right ? This should be fixed now
This kernel should be compatible with any GB ROMs as well as the hackfest version of CM9 and CM10.

No, I have not changed anything related to touchscreen. Cheatman will work on this related to touch issues.
Actually, when merging the changes from my kernel you also included the touch screen fix, but that's not a problem
Still, thanks a lot for your help with the kernel development work! It has enabled awesome stuff for the future!
Cheers,
C.

Good job Vamshi&Cheatman.
Thanks a lot
Hello again,
I think that is not necessary to work in BLN suport because there was one app that we can use as well as BLN but wihtout modified kernel... Here is the link to the developer's page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958939
I've installed it two days ago and works really well. I only modifyed my mail apk because the old one "Stock" don't have any led indication option... (I've installed Maildroid)
@cheatman, Maybe you can add into your room If you are agree.
