I have this issue as well. I inserted a 16 GB micro SD card into the transformer and it was not recognized. I think that the solution is to format the card on another android device or your computer and then put it into the transformer and see if it is recognized. I haven't tried this myself but that's because I don't have time to copy 16gb worth of data to my computer then transfere it all back later after I formatted it. In the end, some cards are recognized and others are not. I also recommend trying to remove it and reinserted a couple of times in the transformer to see if it will recognize it.

This is not a good idea if your card is full up
Hi.
I was wandering is there any way to format the microSD card on teh TF300T?
If so what is the filesystem used/permited?
I would like to put some home videos, that are bigger than 4Gb, and the Fat32 filesystem doesn't let it.
If you want to use the card in Windows computers as well as the tablet, format it with NTFS. If you're just using it in the tablet, ext4 is the best. Note that Windows doesn't support ext4 (or anything that isn't FAT or NTFS for that matter; it won't acknowledge the card at all), so be aware.
Edit: I don't think you can format the card in the tablet. It was removed from ICS. You'll need to use a computer or an Android phone (pre-ICS).
"I'm a PC." So I will format it to NTFS. Too bad i have to use the computer.
Thank you.
Just formated my microSD to NTFS and it works just fine.
Thank you for the advice.

Hi.
I just got a transformet TF300T and i have the same doubts
The card will only be used in the tablet and transfers using Wifi transfer
So... should i format it to Ext4? Or leave it as Fat32?
Can i use as swap?
What tool can i use to format it as fat32 or ext4?
And for the swap?
I have formated my SdCard 32GB class 10 on NTFS by my PC.

yes you can.
I have tried with SD card, microSD and USB drive together and Asus file manager managed to pick up all the drives and ICS moved to mount them all.
tl;dr : you can use all slots simultaneously

Hi,
I'm facing a problem with writing large files (more than ~80 Mg) to external HDD via dock's USB port. Tab crashes after copying approx 80 Mb... and restarts. I have tried three different hard discs...the same... writing from HDD to tab is ok. No probs with SD either.
Could someone give an advice how to solve this...

I will test this now and report back.
EDIT: Yep, I seem to have the exact same issue! I can copy the exact same file to a SD card using the same USB port though (using a SD card reader), so it seems specific to external hard drives. Very strange... Ahh, I just check and my HD is formatted with NTFS, which I believe is a no-no (especially right now, since I've heard that there are NTFS-specific issues with the current ROM).
If possible, try formatting using ExFat or just plain old FAT and see if that helps... Of course, that is just a work-around - problem is that when you *really* need to copy a file to whatever external HD is around, you don't always have the option of reformatting it! Hopefully, Asus will address this issue.
EDIT2: I reformatted my USB drive (exFAT) and then I was able to copy the exact same 1gb file without any issues... So, it's definitely an issue with NTFS format drives...

In our times everything is possible
I've received an answer from ASUS regarding this issue:
" Dear valued customer Thank you for contacting ASUS Technical Service Please update the latest firmware first, it is improved. "The update should automatically download. If it does not auto down load after a week you can manually install. From your TF700T you can also try going to Apps/Settings/About Tablet/Check Update, make sure to turn on WiFi and the device can access the internet. For manual download: From your PC you will need a micro SD card 1. Go to http://www.asus.com/Tablet/Transformer_Pad/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_Infinity_ TF700T/#download 2. Select Android OS 3. Download Version V9.4.5.26 from the Global server 4. Unzip and save to desired location. 5. Copy entire folder to root level of SD card 6. Remove SD card from PC and insert to into Transformer TF700T 7. Bottom of screen in notification area next to clock you will see and update. " If the problem still remains, you can restore your os for a try. Enter Settings menu>Privacy settings>Factory data reset. Prior to performing the full factory reset, please back up all personal files because data will be erased during the process. Note that all your applications are tied to your Google account. Please remove the micro SD card if you have one i already onnserted. To perform a full factory reset please follow the instructions below: 1) Enter Settings menu 2) Select Privacy settings 3) Select Factory data reset Once the factory reset starts, simply follow in onscreen instructions. When it is complete, the unit will restart.
If your could still not solve your problem after my suggestion, please try to contact our local service center for help."
I'm already on V 9.4.5.26-20120720... don't think that factory reset may help

1) copied LARGE <MOVIE-Mp4> to Tablet ( internal SD card )
Copy using USB3.0 stick (via File Manager built in)
2) Than tested that file = plays normally via VLC Player ( beta version )
3) MOVED file to (MOVE to feature - via stand built -in file manager
a) SD card on Dock (64GBFULL SIZE slot) = no issues ( played the file there with VLC)
b) SD card in tablet (32GB micro slot) = no issues ( played the file there with VLC)
4) Also - just tried .........COPY(via built in file manager) some files from Tablet HD ( non sd card files that I could see - am not rooted)
COPY to:
a) tablet 64GB = worked
b) external USB = usb3.0 slot = worked
c) Micro SD card (32gb) ..... worked
However these files were not BIG (total of 3 files = 3.7Gb approx ... as am NOT YET ROOTED so couldnt get to larger files in other folders)
So am but puzzelled .................. I also have a USB to USB cable = that was from an older WINDOWS TRANFER cable that seems to work when I plug DOCK USB slot to a PC ( which is a very instresting senerio!!) .............. note PC = Linux distro =SuSe Ent. version
(side note = all items USB, SD cards = still @ factory formats ........)and am on V9xxx.26.20xxx US version
so am ,,,,scratches head ,,,,,,,,,, lost as to what wouldnt copy??
I have mu micro sd card in my tablet and when I plug my tablet in via usb I open up the storage and open up micro SD and it won't let me delete or add anything to it.
Also, when I try to delete stuff on the micro SD from the tablet, it says permission denied.
I don't have access to a micro SD to SD adapter anymore, so what can I do?

I had this problem on a phone's SD once. My solution was to reformat the card. Sometimes if it has trouble reading any portion of the card, it can revert the SD mount to read only. You could verify that by looking at the removable folder through root explorer if you have it.

How do I reformat while it is in the tablet?
I can't put it into my computer anyother way besides the charging cable through the tablet
I removed mine and put it in a PC card reader and formatted that way, then put it back in. Again, what I did was on another device, and this is strictly a guess based on your description.
