This is not hTc fault. This is T-Mobile fault because T-Mobile has to agree about everything hTc want to do with the device.

Update seems to make sense more stable! Hope it stays that way. Very responsive and fast like it was when it was new, but like I said hope it stays that way.

Wow! First we hear that s-off is close, then a system update? Merry Christmas in July

Downloading now, anyone else notice any differences?

My phone seemed faster at first, but now it's back to good ole Sense induced lagginess.
GHasgy%^&#ERRFD. At least we got some good news from AlphaRev.... hopefully soon....

The update was just for stability as far as I know. Regardless I notice everything working a lot smoother since the day of purchase.
The battery seems to last a tab bit longer. Nothing super duper but enough to notice some increase as well as increase in overall system performance.
Sent from my Skynet Wonderland (HTC Sensation 4G)

I find that the update improves stability and smoother.
Strongly S-OFF !!

What is the hboot version after the update?

This is the same HBOOT after the update as I said : HBOOT : 1.17.0011

The 1.35 OTA is only minor bugfixes.

I dont see any changes
I dont really see any changes, oh well

This is someone's post about the 1.35 update:
http://www.sensation-devs.com/index.php/w4lth3r/378/leaked-1-35-update-review/
After a month of working with version 1.28, 1.35 leaked last weekend (thanks Football), so I flashed it right away!
This version was for 'unbranded' devices only, that means it has been made for devices without customization of carriers. This unbranded devices are normally called 'vanilla'. The nice thing with unbranded devices is that you can flash the newest software update from HTC without waiting for your carrier to approve it. In practice the carriers release the updates months later than HTC because they have to put their customization (bootanimation, apps etc.) before they release them to the customers.
But ok, back to the update...
We are eagerly waiting for the update by HTC that will unlock the Sensation. Unfortunately, nothing changed after this update, the Sensation is still S-ON. This means you can only flash software made by HTC, no custom roms can be flashed yet. Too bad for the development community...
The new update brings a lot of improvements that you won't see but feel.
HTC seems to work on optimizing the software to get the maximum performance out of this device. Besides the cosmetic improvements there are also some differences under the hood. Just to mention some, the agenda, camera, contacts, gallery, twitter and Sense have being improved, and there's a new version of them on this update.
HTC Sense has been improved a lot, not in the looks, but in its performance.
Sense first consisted of several so-called modules, that were loaded separately depending on what the user did in Sense. This meant less memory usage, but more memory fragmentation. In detail, memory fragmentation increases the battery usage and can slow down the phone. Because people were complaining about the lag on Sense, HTC redesigned Sense and made it into 1 module instead of several separate modules. This results are positive, and Sense is now faster and a lot smoother.
This update includes a new, improved, radio.
After purchasing the phone, I wasn't really satisfied with the signal strength. While any other HTC device had enough Wi-Fi signal to chill in the garden while browsing the internet, the Sensation was not getting any signal at all. Happily enough, HTC did a good job on the latest radio and now I won't lose my wifi connection anymore when I'm moving far from the router. Despite this improvement, I still think they can do better with it.
Battery life - a hot topic now that smartphones become increasingly powerful and consume more power.
The battery life was good before the update, and now it is even better. Sense has been improved and optimized to use less power and the new radio manages the wireless connections of the phone efficiently and saves battery power. Also, charging is much faster now.
All in all, this update is worth the shot. Do not expect vast improvements but it will make your phone snappier, improve your Wi-Fi performance and make your battery last longer.
The full potential of the Sensation will be unleashed once we get root and S-OFF. Everyone is looking forward to custom roms, and I hope we can flash this beast soon!

I havent received the ota,why?
I'm in china, and I use local 3g sim card.could that be the reason?

Does anyone know if this fixes the battery percentage to show full forever and them drop dramatically?

Anyone else not as inspired to flash?

See what I did there... You know, with the title.
Any who, this is my second android phone and I'm so happy with my inspire, I actually am not that inspired to flash any roms. I mean this in no disrespect to the developers here, as they are doing awesome work, I'm just very content. Sure I'm curious to flash, but I don't feel the need to at all. Htc has done such a great job with sense and the phone is just so smooth! It's pretty damn fast out of the box. I love the email app and Internet. The browser is fast and the entire sense GUI is quite intuitive. I guess with my captivate, I was never quite happy so I needed to flash often at a glimmer of hope of a decent device.
Anyone else feel the same?
I will eventually flash. I will...but I'm in no rush, at all.
exactly I never was happy with captivate tried flashing different things but it really doesnt change much except for theme removing bloat and some lag fixes but all in all it was still very laggy no matter what. inspire looks great out of the box and i dont feel the need to change roms all the i probaly will just to check em out and check out the speed increases

I don't side load apps. I got tethering to work with apn settings. Don't really see a need for OCing. It's cool, but don't see the need. There doesn't seem to really be much on android that pushes the CPU. One of my arguments for not getting the dual core atrix. If the screen was big like a tablet, maybe. There is just a lack of resource intense apps on android.... At least to rationalize the loss in battery life. The screen on the inspire slides from screen to screen as fast as my finger glides. The browser scrolls fast as well. I do appreciate some of the optimizations that devs have put into their roms. The roms look great...I just can't believe I'm happy with stock. I was really gearing up for a flash fest.
Well it really depends on what you want. If you flash a ROM say like Android Revolution. Yes it will remove bloat ware, and enable tethering. But you can also overclock the cpu, enable upload (which effects your download). It is more about having control over your phone then changing how it looks or feels unless you go with CM7 or the like. I get about 10 more hours of battery usage. I can unplug my phone at 7 in the morning use it heavily throughout the day and go to bed at 11 or 12 and still have about 40% left on the battery. To give you an idea how heavy my usage is, I went through 1gb of data in three days.
Ditto.... I have no reason to flash....everything works the way I want it to, and excellently at that.....

Ya I don't have a desire to flash a custom rom either.
I felt I had to when using the Captivate since the stock rom was so bad. But I feel the Inspire's ROM is great just the way it is.
I used to jailbreak my iPhones for years, but finally got bored with doing it.

Yeah, upload speed, memory optimizations, and prolonged battery life would be my only reasons for flashing. I don't want to lose anything from the current sense ui. I still don't quite understand the goldcard concept.
Anyway, this is a rare phone that is good right out of the box.

I felt the same way all of you did about how great the phone is out of the box. But I needed to have it work as a hot spot and the upload is so slow out of the box because of AT&T. After flashing (now using CoreDroid) I have HUSPA back and my phone is so much faster. What I like about this ROM is it is very close to stock but no bloatware and he made HTC sense look even better (which is hard to do).
As to the goldcard thing, there is a video on Youtube that walks you through step by step making it very easy for anyone.

I want to enable those upload speeds but when I did that on my captivates, the battery went to utter crap. I think it was due to using an European radio..how has battery been with it enabled?
My battery lasts any where from around 20 to 30 hours with heavy to moderate use with uploading enabled. Also just like leedroid android revolution is pretty much stock but faster better battery life and uploading enabled

My reasons to flash :
1 ) I like tidy. All that crap on the stock ROM annoys me.
2 ) APN hack to enable tether isn't tidy.
3 ) Speed. Revolution ROM is faster than stock, noticeably so.
4 ) Fixes. I have more faith in the XDA devs than I do in AT&T to fix problems
5 ) Battery. I'm getting great battery life on Revolution ROM, but I'm not a heavy user so stock would have been suitable for me here but I suspect *most* XDA peeps would fair better on a non-AT&T ROM.

I think the battery out of the box on this phone is the worse I have ever seen. I have a Desire (not HD) that I bought unlocked and it works on AT&T (got one for my wife as well) it has a BIGGER battery in it with a smaller screen that battery last forever.
In our beloved inspire (which I think is a great phone) for whatever reason they have put this very small battery in it and I could not get 6 hours out of it with my usage from the stock ROM.
On the custom ROM I am using I think battery use is still an issue but at least I can get a whole day out of it. It has improved and I know the Dev's will make it even better.
edit: the kernel and radio you use will also play an important role in battery life
Yeah, I was like that up until I finished the video tutorial on Gold Cards jumping from the captivate as well, that thing was flashing like...every three days. It was absurd. It was awesome, but going from a build where I liked everything but the GPS didn't work was super depressing. Gambling is fun and all, but not when some of your phone's core functionality is at stake :'( well I guess that's just a risk with flashing in general... but I just feel like with the captivate it was a necessity... and a risk. Here on the other hand, you wipe, wipe, and away!
P.S.
Does anyone who used to own a captivate still get a reaction to Galaxy S/Captivate news? I got sort of excited when I was reading engadget and I saw the Captivate 2.2 update and the Galaxy S Gingerbread leak. Then I remembered I have the ability to flash CM7.
Im trying to find a reason besides battery to flash..the phone is quick, Sense is really good and replaces a lot the widgets I already had. Im tempted just for the sake of doing it more than for a need
I never flash.... I was stock on my N1 and I will remain so on my Inspire.

I'll more than likely root and flash Revolution in the next couple weeks...but I'm still lost to all the jargon in the Development section haha
I'm going to wait for the best one-click and any kinks to be worked out before I pull the trigger though
It took going through the app drawer with my 115 apps plus the AT&T stuff lagging all the way for me to think, "This phone needs Cyanogen." Haven't looked back, although I do want to flash one of the Sense Roms floating around. Sense was pretty amazing.

I would really love to flash but coming from the Cappy, my first android phone. Rooting this phone seems to be really confusing. The one click looks promising but there are some problems with it, that I hope Buddy fixes soon. The Attn1 method lost me. I have never been able to use adb on my computer for some reason. I have all the drivers installed and the androidsdk but for some reason I can never figure out the how to start to connect to my phone in the command window. I always get an error.

General review for my Inspire

I've had my phone since December 2011, I order or from US because here in Ecuador we don't have and it is most likely it will never arrive wince this device already's been about a year in the market.
This phone is actually quite marvelous compared to lots we have here. I've only seen similar characteristics and performance in the Samsung galaxy s2 specially the display which I think is better compared to Inspire 4G.
I got it with gingerbread version which was updated while a relative had it while in the US, as soon as I got to toy with the device I started looking for the perfect and not moat problematic way to root my phone. Well actually I had already done my research but it was from September and the links were removed . I was preparing everything to follow mike1986 ARHD method but after hitting a wall with the links and removed forums I had to continue for a new method. It took me about a week to finally come across with the ACE HACK KIT which worked like a charm for my device and I almost didn't have any delays in the process.
Once I rooted my phone I decided to flash the ARHD with Sense, I've been on this ROM ever since it is very stable, maybe minor glitches but in general it is a great ROM for this device. Once I entered the android device world I got caught up with it, I'm always checking if there's any news for this device or any updates for the ROM.
After browsing a few weeks along the posts I found the IceColdSandwich for Desire HD and started following the thread. AFter reading for a few days about the compatibility for my Inspire, I decided to go through with the flashing of the ICS. Once done it actually look very sharp at the beginning but then I came across with the mentioned glitches in the thread so I kinda was prepared for those. Since it is still in development I just tried it for about a week and went back to Mike's rom.
At first I didn't know what useful apps I would install in the device other than games, but browsing YouTube xD was very helpful and also I tried some apps directly from the market just with reading the description. Soundhound, Waze, ESPN Score center, XDA Developers, Pinger Textfree, Whatsapp are some of the apps I use everyday.
Another great app I found, now that I'm becoming a father, is Pregnancy it helps me a lot to understand a little bit more about this subject and taking care my beautiful lady.
Overall the performance of my device is brilliant and it was the best $350 I spent last year. The speed of the phone is great, it's very responsive, big screen, though it fits perfectly in my hand and pockets, medium-high battery performance (also got a 2nd one just in case of running out during the day), great sound with headphones, not so much in speaker, very good camera and dual LED, ARHD 6.3.1 is very good for this, keyboard performance is better than imagined I can write as if I'm on my pc with nearly zero typos, and of course waiting anxiously for some more great work either from ARHD or IceColdSandwich.
Well that's my review, hopefully it might serve you if your country still doesn't have this phones yet.
Mayne some technical details about network here in Ecuador:

Lord clockan ics 2.0 has worked good for me last few days. Nice review.
Sent from my Inspire 4G XDA App using ICS
I'm sure ARHD will go to ICS as soon as the Desire HD update comes out. mike1986 is really on top of updating it.
@ Rybean actually I tried ICS 2.0 for about 3 days, and the main problem which is very known already was the camera, but since last built it was improved a lot, at least that's what happened on ny device . I tried 1.4 and it had too many glitches and bugs and I couldn't even make the camera work with an external camera app, but now on 2.0 camera performance is quite better.
@ pazzo02 according to what I was reading from HTC, a lot of their current devices will get ICS update later this year. But as many have stated, Inspire 4G was not in that naming, but DHD was, meaning that ARHD will surely come up with their great Rom for both devices and that's what I'm hoping for, but it will be far later this year.
Meanwhile I'm still running 6.3.2 and in line for ,hopefully, an ARHD 7 fully supported for my Inspire. I tried the DHD Rom but I decided to roll back no to spoil the surprise when it is ready for Inspire.

So it is carnival here in Ecuador and here people throw water at random people just because yes...
I was getting out of my car and they throw two gigantic buckets of water at me and got completely wet.. and of course I had my Inspire in my pocket..
Next thing I do is getting back inside my car and start driving home because I was mad..
A while next I remembered my phone I took it out of my pants and I freaked out and didn't even want to try to unlock it.. a few minutes later the phone rings and I was surprised..
It survived the flood I got and now I'm writing in my review..
I love my Inspire..
Obviously I'm never trying to do this on purpose xD

ARHD T-Mobile Questions

I currently have a HTC Sensation on T-Mobile US and I was wondering what are the differences between the ARHD T-Mobile ROM and ARHD 6.6.5XE (My current version). Is battery life, reception, or data improved in any manner? Would I lose Beats audio?
Battery life is horrible. It goes from 100 to about 10 percent in about an hour of use. With nothing but WiFi on. It goes from about 75 to 10 percent in about 2 hours with the screen off. I am very disappointed in all sensation roms. In MY opinion none of them work right. I am sure someone will say I need to be kicked off because I stated my opinion. My opinion is that they don't work right. I superwipe and let it sit for 10 minutes each time I flash but all the roms never work right for me. No beats audio but also in MY opinion its just a marketing gimmick. Why waste 17 mb of storage to have one sq setting when you can download an eq from the market and set it any way you want?
I never have had that bad a battery drain with any of the ARHD roms. However the big difference, in my mind, between the tmous and the xe rom is the radio. Yes they both use the same version of the radio but the radio is set to to dish 2 on the tmous rom, better signal and strength in the tmous in the US. Also the xe does have beats but as said before you can download an eq from the market.

All the roms I've tried work perfectly, not only that, they in my opinion are MORE stable than the stock rom! I'll give an example, stock rom kept rebooting all the time, NEVER had this happen with custom rom. Also my battery life is MUCH better on custom rom! This is the truth. Custom rom in my opinion is MUCH better than stock. More options, smoother, faster, better over all experience! This is my honest truth. Not for one second do I regret having rooted and running custom rom. I think most people would agree. Custom rom is the only way to go! Iove the wonderful options of Roms we have here at xda Personally I'm grateful for the many wonderful choices the developers give us. I've NEVER had a negative experience with ANY rom. I've chosen !

I don't know why my battery life is so horrible. I hate it. If I leave it sit with screen off and set CPU turned down it will still die within a couple hours. Lately the phone has not been ringing. It was rebooting after I tried a new kernal. It would restart every time I hung up from a call. It would be nice if the battery wasn't so weak. I've had this phone for less than 90 days and I got it brand new. It is MY PERSONAL opinion that these custom roms keeps to be worked on more. I can't remember where it was that I saw it but there was a whole list of bugs for a certain rom that was months old and none of the real bugs never get fixed. Everything was still in red and one thing that was in green highlights I guess that had been "fixed" was that the play store had been updated to the latest. As if people can't do that themselves when they install a new rom. I could be wrong but in my opinion nothing in a custom rom truly gets fixed. I have problems with the stock browser in elegancia. It only goes to google when I try to do a search. I have other problems too. Arhd works pretty good but this battery sucks. Truthfully I'm done with custom roms. Next phone I get (if its even another android because again in my opinion all android phones suck, maybe its just the os but everyday I realize that android is not really such a great thing to have) anyways next phone I get will be reasearched

I believe Android is a excellent operating system! Also I've tried numerous Roms and they work perfectly. Your saying besides the foul language that they do not function correctly? I've never ever had a negative experience with Any Rom I've choosen. You are not forced to root nor are you forced to use custom rom. So I feel your anger and flaming are not necessary. In my HONEST opinion I love Android OS and love the choices of available Roms. No offences but I don't understand why you are still using Android if you hate it so. I was just stating my opnion and their is no need to become ABUSIVE to me. Android gives us more options than any other system, its open source, also the Roms have proven MUCH more stable than the stock systems in my experience. I don't have constant rebooting, its faster, more options, smoother and looks better. It's a all around better experience. Nothing to attack me personally about.....you sir have anger issues.... I refuse to stoop to your level and flame back at you! I stand firm in my opinion of Android and custom Roms. There is a simple solution for your issues, simply get a different device and operating system and be done with it.....there is no reason to be so angry....I have my opinion you have yours. Personal attacks are not necessary and are juvenile......so leave Android and be happy in what ever else you choose...

You honestly are one of the only people to actually give a helpful response. Thank you. Any comments on battery life? I can always get through a day with 6.5.5 but I'm interested to know if the tmobile ARHD will provide any benefits.
Sorry for the long absence, the ARHD t-mobile rom has given in my opinion about the same battery life as the 6.5.5 does or did. The only actual benefits in the tmous rom is the signal I feel is better due to the dish setup. But if you're half savvy with a computer and adb you can change dish setups yourself.

I had the same problem as you. I bought a replacement HTC battery for an Evo3D on eBay, and my battery life problems are gone. You probably need a new battery.

Any news for the jellybean OTA ?

When is the JellyBean ota going to hit our one s ?? I already read its this month only , one x has got its jb ota , using a tmous device how much time will it take to get it ?

One X doesn't...

They got a leaked version. Not official ota.
I'm with ya. Hopefully soon.
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using xda app-developers app
Yeah, I know about the leak but OP said they have the OTA, which they don't. And the current one is quite buggy, I believe which is why there is only a ROM of it, which requires HBOOT update. We will probably need one, too, so that you can't go back to ICS after flashing.

Well, HTC said October and theres only about 2 weeks left in October so I'd say sometime within about the next 2 weeks..
Probably closer to the end of the month, but thats just speculation.
I need update

Us T-Mobile customers won't get JB till sometime in November......that's just the way it always is. Would be shocked if we got it officially before then
Gotta remember we just got the ICS 4.0.4 with Sense 4.1 update like 3 weeks ago

That's the beauty of custom roms. I'm sure Torxx will have something built shortly after the international update is released. Why wait for stock? unless you really love bloatware I suppose

They said October but that was for the non-carrier branded devices. Carrier ones always take a longer

I feel sorry for anyone who is waiting for T-Mo's OTA release... Not only will it be filled with bloat and T-Mo's worthless anti Wifi tether code, but it will be released much later than the international release.
Love viperOneS and cant wait till he_stheone gets a hold of it

Along with an updated hboot.
It's always best to just wait for a ROM to be made.

Rooting phones is getting outdated to me personally unless you wanna switch to stock ICS or JB.....I can't find one thing wrong with ICS 4.0.4 with Sense 4.1, great battery life, fast, fluid, everything works, and you can disable the bloat which frees up space so.....you guys have fun rooting your phones and F'in em up I'm personally done with that gets old after a while.
Oh man... Why did I decide to f up my phone?! XD

I just hate one thing that WiFi tethering is not working on any custom Rom , I tried trickdroid, viperones , and the one by football maximus something , WiFi tether doesn't work on the that's only the sad part .. I am from India , using Vodafone so no need of T-Mobile Sh*t , I would prefer a custom Rom , if the WiFi tether and the data jumping from 3g to h+ is fixed

Couldn't agree anymore. I think rooting was kind of needed with the older smartphones. The slow single core processor phones needed to be stripped of bloatware and overclocked and all that jazz but now phones are getting so powerful that changes we make are making little difference or giving us hardly any benefit. I remember with my HTC wildfire if I had more than 10 apps the phone would slow down! Now you can have hundreds of apps and the phone barely slows down. Same with PC's. deleting programs and defragmenting our PC's gave us a huge speed boost but now they do nothing to my PC it's just fast and it stays fast. Woohoo! Just means we can't show off how fast our devices are to people with little technical knowledge with slow phones anymore

Battery is probably the weakest point of the phone. Stock battery gives about 2.5 hrs on screen with 10 hrs total , however, I use the 1900 mah anker battery which gives about 14 hrs use and 4 hrs on screen time.
There are also many awesome ROMs to choose from (sense, aosp, aokp, miui...)

Dude, you probably got a bad battery with your device. I can go through a WHOLE day (read: 24 hrs) of moderate use and still get battery (with right use and turn-offs I managed to get 5 days where having the phone on would drain it (I was in the middle of nowhere)).
I'm using the phone for two years now, and yes, the battery could be better, but with the right cinfig it's great (on CM ROMs I get some nice battery life, and Sense ROMs are fine, too).
As for performance, It's quite good for a 2 year old device. ROMs are smooth (although I think sense ROMs might have a memory management issue (across all versions I used - Sense 3.0->4.5), because after a few days of use, they become slow and require a reboot (I'm not a big fan of task killers). But there are solutions to increase RAM (you can have SWAP on about any partition you like).
Overall, ROMs run great (do not take my RAM issues as a deal breaker, it's only after a week of use, and even this is on a ROM that was never meant to run on the device). Smooth, and run apps well.
You won't regret it.
Oh, and almost forgot. I spoje of how the phone is, but the development community (and the community itself, beside the devs), is great.

Well, idk I'm a pretty heavy user and have tons of background apps running all the time. My WiFi is on 24/7, as well as GPS, and mobile data, so that may justify why my battery is not up to par.

sorry dude,....this phone never getting Official Android 4.2.2.....hell we didnt even get sense 4, until team venom and other devs got down to it, and today the main reason we have good roms is sharing the chip with HTC One S.....although even One S wont get official 4.2.2, so again not happening..
But still very good phone, been using it for 18 months and will probably use it another 6months to 1 yr....

I got a confirmation from the HTC India support that Sensation Xe will get a Update Possibly 4.2.2 but as usual they don't know the date
but here is the mail that I got from them
" Thank you for contacting HTC support.
As per your email, we understand that you want to know when the 4.2.2 upgrade will be available in India for the HTC Sensation XE handset.
We understand how important it is for you to have your phone upgraded to the latest available operating system in the market.
Since the phones manufactured by HTC are country-specific, so are the updates released for them. That is why an update available in one country might not be immediately available in another one.
We are currently working on the 4.2.2 upgrade, and it is slated to be released soon.
When this happens, you will receive a notification on your phone (if it is connected to the internet). "

Well, this is surprising...
To be very honest, it is quite possible the HTC employee who replied to you is a complete idiot....because i checked the htc website, and no such update is planned, not even for One S, which has better specs than sensation..
Although if it is true, it would be awesome...because the main problem for our phone is that HTC has not released a JB ION kernel...for Revelation/ViperS-JB, SebastianFM ported it from VilleC2....so if they release any JB rom with full kernel sources, it would be ****ing awesome...
Hell if this happens we might even see ViperS with Sense 5.5/6 and android 4.3
Although as i said, highly unlikely.

Well I Certainly Agree with you but Lets wait for a couple more months to see what happens And I believe HTC should respect the customer at-least the customer who bought the flagship products. and well the 4.0.3 combined with sense 3.6 sucks the life of the device :silly:
All I can saw now is Lets Wait :fingers-crossed:

I totally agree with you!! It really makes no sense upgrading the sensation which is a year (?) older than OneS. There is no benefit for HTC. I dont know where this email comes from or if it really is real. A few days ago they brought 4.2.2 to OneX+ and i think this was the last update for that too. So there will never be a new official updqate from HTC for OneX and below. And I dont think it is country-specific...
