Try clearing the cache and data from the applications>All>Gmail settings screen. Then open up gmail again and it'll re-sync. That should work.

Thanks I tried it and it seems to work but when Im on my tablet It seems to only get pushed just to the tablet not the phone as well. Is that normal?
Do you have the "Mobile data always-on" checked?

Lol yea. Unless it goes into power saving mode
Go into settings > Accounts and Sync > select the account that is not syncing > Then make sure that the Sync Gmail checkbox is checked.
It is it does sync but it doesn't sync as in pushed notifications I can have an email and I won't know unless its refreshed
Bump.
Having the same problem. Gmail push isn't working reliably. Sometimes it works, but mostly not. I've verified all settings for syncing. If I go into a Gmail account and select Refresh it downloads the new emails, but auto notification is just flaky as heck, and mostly not working.
I'm running pure stock, not rooted. Anyone else seeing this, or have suggestions for fixing?
Thanks.

This is what messed up my sync a while back:
Settings > Power > Enable power efficiency
If it's on it will turn off auto sync based on what when idle. That fixed my gmail issues, dunno if it's the same for you.

I did have that setting turned on, so will leave it off and see if that's the issue.
Thanks.
Try reinstalling gmail through the market.

Ok so I have notice that the sync icon keeps popping up and I have went into the settings and disable the sync for gmail but kept the contacts and same with FB just have contacts but every like 3-5 mins it pops up again has anyone had this issue and know how to fix this? I am rooted not roms just root.
I don't remember seeing it that often but it didn't stop until I turned off auto sync and background data on my completely stock Inspire.

Well so far everything seems ok after I took off g calendar but still not sure but what does disabling the data and auto sync data do anyways

Turning them off keeps you in control of syncing your accounts. If an app needs background data, it will tell you. When you want to update go into accounts and sync under settings and click sync all.

I see.. was not 100% sure lol and I also noticed that the mock location was un checked if I remembered it was checked so I checked and its almost 24 hrs can I have not seen it starting to auto sync.
I have had this phone fur a year and I know I'm hacked. Apps open by themselves and I always have high data usage. I took a few screen shots that I thought might be helpful? Haha please help!!!!
I highly doubt you're hacked. I see you have the Facebook app installed; that's known to drain your battery. Have you gone into its settings to make sure it's not set to auto-refresh at high intervals? I think the default is every 15 minutes. What about Google+? Is it set to automatically upload your photos and videos? And finally, I see you're on Sprint, which has LTE almost nowhere. Is your LTE set to on?
Bro.. why not try a full wipe 'coz if your phone is infected your privacy is exposed lol
Facebook app is installed yet auto sync is disabled. I keep having apps download on their own yet I disabled auto update. Not to mention my location services are jacked up

Are you using Google Now? That's known to destroy battery life by at least 30% (its been tested). Turn that off. It keeps your location services running 24/7.
Worst case, I'm not sure if your device is rooted or not (it doesn't matter), but try and wipe it and "start over" if you can. Make sure your contacts are synced with Google, and if your photos are on your internal storage, move them to your computer or your SD card. Then go into Settings -> Security -> Factory Reset.
Can u explain these?

It looks like logcat is logging signal strenght of your 3g, and your mail app is checking for new mails.
It might be your voicemail app... Unless you changed the icon that isn't stock TW. But yeah definitely just do a factory reset or Odin back to stock...

Nah, that's the Sprint Voicemail app's logo.
I'm running stock rom and notice something strange on my phone. All Google services such as Gmail/Voice/Android Device Manager do not sync automatically. I need to open app and hit update manually.
Factory reset didn't help. Any idea?

Yes, I did. Also cleared cache but it didn't help.
Beside that, the Exchange Email works just fine.
I had the exact problem! I finally realized that I had turned auto sync off.
setting>Data Usage>3 dot menu> check the AUTO-SYNC DATA
Then
setting>account>email addy>check the needed boxes.
took me hours to figure this out! lol

None if my GMail accounts are reviewing push notifications. At best sometimes I get it after a 15-20 minute delay, but mist times it doesn't come through until I manually refresh.
Anyone else having similar issues? I've checked my data connection and WIFI is set to always on but still no luck

Hi
I had the same issue. Just remove the account under settings and set it back, this should fix it.
When on wifi double check if port 5228 TCP is open cause gmail uses that port for push.

Anyone else having problems with the G3 syncing up to things? Mine will start syncing, but it won't finish.
While its syncing, I won't be able to do anything with data at all until I toggle airplane mode on and off. As soon as I turn off airplane mode, I get all my notifications. I have seen this happening the most with Gmail sync, google wallet sync (turned this off), twitter (turned this off), and haxsync (deleted this after it took forever and would refuse to finish syncing).
NOTE: This happens to me on both ART and Dalvic runtimes.... Not sure what the issue is here.
EDIT: Happens on wifi, LTE, and HSPA for me.
EDIT2: I am on stock/not rooted.
I've been having issues with my Google account, but I think it's Google and not my G3.

Inside of Gmail app, you have to enable the sync last 30 days in your primary box or which ever box.
You click on the three dots on the upper right hand corner and go to label settings and enable sync for last 30 days.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for that! I just switched it to 15 days. Maybe that will help...
