[Q] Datel wii wireless retro controller - Where to buy? - G2 and Desire Z Accessories

Hi,
I'm looking for the datel wii wireless retro controller for so long but can't find one!
Does anyone want to sell their controller?
Or is there a good alternative?
I already got the game gripper but I want to try it with this controller.

I might be completely wrong here, but it might be possible if you have a wiimote + the interface app and plug in the classic controller. Not sure if it's possible but maybe it'll work?
Sent from my Desire Z via XDA App

Yes that will work, but i'm not a big fan of the wii-mote.
So I want that one

I have more experience on this then anyone else on this site.
There are no more wireless remotes that come close to what you are looking for. I myself made 3 different wiimote and classic controllers strapped to each other, inside each other etc etc... there is nothing else. unless u find a good bluetooth controller.

Have you tried any of these: http://www.google.com/search?q=datel+wii+wireless+retro+controller&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&client=firefox-a#sclient=psy&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=lDE&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&tbm=shop&source=hp&q=wireless+wii+retro+controller&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&pbx=1&fp=1&biw=1280&bih=841&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&cad=b

yes, practically all of them.
One thing you didnt think about is that most of the gamecube type wii controllers have a little receiver box, so that thins out the controller choice by like 90%. Not very many wii controllers were made specifically for the wii and not very many general bluetooth controllers were ever made.
Here is the first two controllers I made. I still have the white one and it works great.

I know that they all work, but I want the one from Datel.
Because you can use it wireless.

I paid 50 bucks shipped to me. Most likely Id sell it for 60 with the mount if someone would want it... I just like the oem classic controller pro that much better. Besides I can make a better one lol

I know they are all wireless but you don't need any thing else when you have the Datel controller.
Because you need a receiver with the Wii controller.

HTC name for MPx?

Hi all,
Noob question: Whats the HTC name for the Motorola MPx? I tried looking, but hitting a brick wall. Even the HTC website doesn't list it down.
And any idea if WM5 has been successfully installed on the MPx?
Um...it's not an HTC, it's a Motorola?
Mmm... do excuse my ignorance, the MPx isnt a very common device to begin with.
Seeing that this forum has many mods/comments for the different types of HTCs, does that mean there really isnt much for the MPx in this forum then?
as far as I know MPx(at least 200) was made by HTC, and only branded motorola. But i think it was of course made based on contract that probably made MPx 200 exclusive branded only motorola.

As far as I know, the never-really-released (okay, it was released on some asian markets and there are tons of engineering samples out there) MPx is a Motorola device, not a HTC one.

Yes WM5 can be installed on MPx200 for sure, probably to MPx220 as well. But part of the system is on storage card.

He is talking about the MPx, also known as MPx300. It was a vaporware device: the release date was pushed further and further and in the end it was only released in a few asian countries, however there are quite some engineering samples out there. It was a really nice concept (portrait AND landscape clamshell) with great design, a QVGA screen, a keyboard and WM2003SE however it had only 32 mb memory (after a hard reset, it had like 8 mb ram available for everything) and a slow processor. It was overhyped, and there were rumors of a 64 mb version, which never came to reality.

(and no, there is no WM5 out there for it as far as I know)
Not to mention it was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced for what it was. Anyway, I think you'd probably do better checking howardforums.com and seeing what they have over there for the motorolas. From there you could probably find a site specific to them. You'll also notice that there isn't much here for the Treo, either. pcgeeks.com might have better coverage for you, too.
sorry i didnt know that he's talking about 300. there are 3MPx - MPx200, MPx220, MPx300, he didnt wrote which one he's speaking about. Because 200 & 220 are most common i guessed its about them. btw i'm 90% sure that MPx200 was made by HTC.

He did not write "what device he was talking about" because that is the actual name of the device. The "Motorola MPx" actually was its final name. MPx300 was more of less just a rumor or at most an early internal name for the device.
Sorry, you are incorrect. The MPx200 was not made by HTC or Motorola. It was made by another Windows CE device ODM named Chei Mei Communication Systems (CMCS) of Taiwan. Both the MPx200 and MPx220 were made by Chei Mei Communications rather than HTC. As for the MPx, I'm not 100% sure but I would not be surprised if they were also the ODM for that device.
CMCS's ODM codename for the MPx200 was the "Beethoven". This is also why many of the ROMs for the MPx200 have names such as "BEN-XXX".
Here are some interesting photos I found of the unbranded Chei Mei version from before Motorola announced they would sell it:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,111839-page,1/article.html
Cool stuff!
I'm not sure, but I think that HTC was an ODM on the mpx200.
EDIT: oops, nvm

New IPAQ devices

Hello others!
What do you think of the follow two new models of HP?
The IPAQ 600 and the IPAQ 900.
I like the IPAQ 600 very much and at this moment I doubt between this device and the HTC TyTN II (Kaiser). Should I use the whole keyboard of the TyTN II?
Another thing about to doubt is the (tweaking) support of the device here on xda-dev.

What's your opinion?
Nobody?
Has nobody an opinion?
I will be getting my TyTn II in about a week from now. It is on its way from Dubai.
Probably the only reason I had not seriously considered the Ipaq 600 before ordering the TyTn II is the availability of the 600 as yet. Had this been available on the shelves, ready for delivery, my decision could have been different.
The full QWERTY keyboard on the TyTn is also probably one of the things which make me favour the TyTn II over the Ipaq. Nevertheless with recently introduced SIP's such as Pocket CM and TouchPal the advantage of a full QWERTY versus the bulk and mechanical complexity it adds is worth considering.
Regards
I'd get IPAQ600
Cuz i've been waiting, and waiting....currently am in HK...personally i do no think keypad is a must on ppc, for the past yrs i've used few ppc without keypad, so i'm like used to it...hehe....but then the HTC Tynty is good of course...hehe...
cheerz
not sure
due to Kaizer will be full supported from independent developer, however in my opinion it's looks not so good,
HP are good looking, but HP have been blocked on itself, bad support (update)
The other thing that goes in favour of the Kaiser is that HTC has a reputation of a good build quality. They have gradually improved their build quality and now HTC devices are at par to the best e.g. Nokia definitely has no better build quality than HTC.
Now for the ipaq I am not sure who is the manufacturer. I have heard it is Techfaithwireless. I may not trust their build quality until I have actually seen the devices in the mass market and we have some reviewers comments. So it is a long uphill battle for HP. They have to re-establish themselves in a market dominated by HTC. Now it is entirely up to HP how well they manage their product quality and support. They may or may not win.
And finally will the HP devices receive the kind of support from this community like the HTC devices ???
Regards
When will these 600 / 900 Series devices finally ship?
Some 6 months (!) later ... and these devices are still not officially launched.
Does anybody know when HP plans to start shipping these?
Also, given such an extensive delay and the availability of Windows Mobile 6.1, will the 600 / 900 Series be made available with 6.1 (either from launch or via upgrade later)?
I read this week that HP will not provide upgrades to 6.1 for "available devices". Question is how that applies to the 600 / 900, one can interpret it either way ...
Thanks.
The 600 series is already launched for the rest of the world except USA. I already have mine (Ipaq 614C) which I got from www.clove.co.uk
Thanks

Benefits of XDA II
400 mhz processor
128mb ram
normal SD Card slot
Benefits of XDA Mini S
Full qwerty keyboard
Wifi (B/G)
Stand-by Up to 200 h
Talk time Up to 5 h
Camera 1.3 MP, 1280x960 pixels, video, flash (as opposed to XDA II's VGA Cam)
v2.0 bluetooth
smaller phone
Personally i owned a xda mini s and loved it - so much that my upgrades have led me to the XDA Trion (upgrade from xda mini s but downgrade from xda stellar)
but its all preference i love it due to the keyboard and wifi.
Thanks

correct!
It means SDIO Wifi Cards which means you cannot have a SD card and wifi at the same time.
It says
Features:
Bluetooth, Camera, Email/Web, Expansion Slot, MP3 Player, Phone Capability, Speaker(s), WLAN/WiFi
The description has just been copied from somewhere.
Yeah, can't go wrong with the mini S even though it's a bit slower and the screen is smaller. The form factor is much better.
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&id1=68&id2=331
Plus it adds WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 (1.1 on the XDA II)
hmm o2's website says the xda II has wifi too..
this is getting confusing haha
i would still of chose the mini S though, but you have bought the xdaII now so no worries - could you possibly clarify if the xda II has wifi?
cheers
I had the Mini S - actually it was a T-Mobile branded MDA Vario. Out of all the phones with slide out keyboards I found it the most usable - the spacing between the keys makes it easy to type with. I did find the device to be very slow and unresonponsive though, particularly with the operator's original ROM - when I unlocked it and flashed WM6 ROMs from the Wizard forum I found performance improved considerably.
Most of the time it performed well - wifi was good - I found connection to my home router very simple and straight forward. Still found web browsing painfully slow though. And the screen is pretty small for most web pages.
Quite liked it - it was my first PDA phone - I'd always had separates in the past. I did get a little tired of it though, and found that I didn't use the keyboard as much as I thought I would - I've just ordered a new phone without a keyboard this time and bigger screen.

It did not have Wifi.
He said he would refund as he made a mistake.
I asked for £10 off.
I got the XDA II new cond inc delivery for £30.
Any good?
i am suprised he gave a refund.. due to the fact he stated "optional Wireless LAN capabilities..."
nevermind, worked out well for you
is a good deal to be honest, cant go wrong with a pda phone for £30..
mini S would have costed more to get anyway.

Ubuntu for Android

http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/android
Might be good, full Android phone. When you dock it to an "empty shell" it shows full Ubuntu on the monitor.
When I saw this, I was instantly mad at myself. I could've bought a new smartphone, and had a desktop eventually running from it. Instead I bought a new laptop :-\ I should've been patient because this is amazing!!
I have a feeling this will be the future of how computing will be done. A lot more people are going computerless and just putting a secondary OS into a phone like device is pretty awesome. Just hook a displayport or HDMI cable to a display and bam a useable desktop.
Its technology evolution.
So will it be possible to install this on your own phone or is this something that has to be included by the OEM or with a custom ROM.
It would be nice to have ubuntu on my transformer prime!

The demoed it on an Atrix 2 with Motoblur. That tells us that it doesn't need a custom kernel since Motorola locks their bootloaders. Also doesn't need a custom ROM since its still Motoblur'd. So in theory it should then be possible to port this to existing devices.
its doesn't care what rom you're using, cause it running using VNC..

Although it's true that previous Ubuntu versions on a myriad of devices run chrooted and you connect via VNC, that does not appear to be the approach here. Watch the video and it is clear that it is running natively over the HDMI out without VNC. Very impressive IMO.

This is the same setup that Ubuntu provided Motorola for their Atrix/Bionic/RAZR phones where a stripped down version of Ubuntu with a custom DE instead of Gnome or Unity. Its easy for Ubuntu to mod the Atrix 2 with the full Ubuntu distro since they created the base for Webtop. Just because the kernel and boot loader is locked doesn't mean you can't modify the system after achieving root.

I don't see why not. They've ported NT to ARM and we have even seen the regular explorer based window system running on ARM. It seems Microsoft's strategy early on with Windows 8 was to try to unite mobile and desktop.

OK guys this has just been announced today regarding the Ugoos UM1, which is a Mini PC, not a TV box like the UT1 above. Now I can't decide which one to choose, as the UM1 they reviewed today has HARDWARE support for XBMC. Here's the Ugoos UM1 review here. XBMC Mini PC is very tempting, OK someone help me choose which one.

No Bluetooth. Even though the Bluetooth menu is there in the settings, there is none onboard. Other than that, it is probably one of the best Android devices I've owned, despite being from a no-name Asian manufacturer. The system responds fast and played 720p videos without issues or stuttering.
I hope the devs can get there hands on these units, I would to love to see a custom ROM on this.

I bought one. XMBC and Youtube videos are flawless. I have had issues with navigation with the remote and with my tablet using their control software. I've had to use a combination of both to really navigate quickly.
I think I'll end up buying an airmouse/keyboard combo.
Which Android apps are you all using with this device that you really like?
Go for the Ugoos UM2 then, has Bluetooth and has the same power and high quality hardware XBMC video decoding as the UT1. And it's cheaper than those devices you've mentioned.

Just got one as well. What XBMC apk did you install? I've tried 3 so far, all have terrible (lagging) hd-video playback and static sounds when i select hdmi/5.1 as audio output...
- xbmc-20130925-92bbdb9-master-armeabi-v7a.apk
- xbmc-frodo-12.1-xaf-neon-set_top-20130503-47b0a23c60.apk
- xbmc-20130714-6ec63cd-adddroidlibstagefright-armeabi-v7a.apk
They posted the exact XBMC version that comes shipped on the Ugoos devices. The thread is over here and contains the apk. The stock UT1 firmware has also been released here.

Although hdmi passthrough works with the stock mediplayer, xbmc won't recognize the drivers.
so you will get stuck with analog stereo sound for xbmc that is bad

Not too much time ago I saw that ugoos prepared a new firmware for their past years' products
on ugoos.net
In particular they have 1.1.3 for Ugoos UT1 based on Android 4.4.2
A lot of bugs were fixed since last firware update release.
