Dell "Stage UI" Launcher & Widgets
This is the launcher used on the Dell Streak reformatted for any Android device running 2.2.
You MUST have froyo to be able to install the launcher! I take absolutely no credit for this.
It is a unique launcher with some awesome widgets.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NnvL22Y_gg&feature=player_embedded
.
i can find this launcher on "filesonic"
BUT i do not know if it is legal to post a link here
as there might be copy write thing-a-ma-doo's
so if a mod tells me it is all right i'll post the launcher
otherwise you'll have to find it on your own (If u can)
I personally like some things about this launcher
BUT wont use it as it deviates too much from what i am use to
enjoy the video and maybe testing this new launcher (if you can find it)
peace

I'm sure it would work on 2.2.2
it's still 2.2
BUT I'm not sure what u mean
AND this is just a first version there maybe others and/or some programmers here can pick-it up and tweak it for 2.3.3/2.3.4
again if that is what u mean ?
and who knows till someone tries it may work on 2.3.3/2.3.4
i Just found this and thought i would share as it looks COOL

Hows 160 work on the G2x though? I tried 160 and had a screwed up notification bar (smeared icons)... I'm also running on CM7...
180 worked ok but the lock screen is whacked. 190 seems the sweet spot with the G2x. Everything just works the say it should.

Theres a newer version that's for devices with bigger screens like our evo's.

Wow, it has requested just about every permission imaginable I'm scared Or maybe that's the case for the stock HTC widgets? Maybe the developers declare whole permission set just to make their lifes easier assuming no one will see this as hardly anyone will be installing this (instead of getting it preinstalled)?

In stock HTC Sense, there's an option to download these somewhere in settings or maybe at the top of the widget picker. I can't check because I'm running cm now. But when I first got my Evo I downloaded a bunch of the extra htc widgets and I noticed two things: some of them were crazy huge, like upwards of 10 mb for no noticeable reason. And they all asked for every permission available for no reason.
This is what you get when you deal with Sense.
Yes I checked there but I am running myn's Warm Z 2.2 with sense 2.0. And the widget is not listed on the "Get more". I downloaded the one from this thread, and I get an error "There is a problem parsing the package." "Parse Error". Any ideas? I went to the file using root explorer to install it.
I've always used 209 on most my devices but with this enormous screen I think we could go much smaller. Usually changing the density messes with certain apps. Anyone have suggestions on the best settings that has worked for them on the TB?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
@youneek, i had tried both of the lcd density apps (paid and free ones) and neither of them works on the thunderbolt. quite disappointed because the first thing i wanted to do after rooting was to change that density.
*sigh*
hopefully the developers are working on it. i guess i need to go ahead and be pro-active and email them about it.
were you able to change it at all from the default 240?

pretty sure you have to be rooted to change the density? if you are not it won't.
second, I came from the evo, and I liked 185. Only app it messed up was speedtest.net, and even then it was just smaller with spaces around it. I use swype so it making the stock keyboard all tiny didn't matter to me.
You can manually edit your build.prop if you are rooted. I'm using 209 since widgets align perfect on LP when using extra columns. Might try to go one up and reboot while taking screen shots each time.

Terrible screen to show the difference lol. 210 and 185 look the same with your setup. I guess I should do screenies of mine since it is insanely different because I use Launcher Pro and not the stock launcher. Aslo apps like facebook will look dramatically different between 210 and 185.
Not trying to slam you or anything, just explaining because someone is going to ask why they don't look different.

LOL I didn't even notice what it does to the sense clock. I guess if you want to keep Sense you will want to not use 185.
Although changing the LCD density on this phone is very different from the Evo that I came from. The density change on the TB only changes somethings, not everything, like it does on the evo.
The thing I noticed about not setting a device to its correct native ppi, is that you won't get sharp 1:1 pixels but blurred antialiased pixels instead. Which makes sense, doesn't it?
build.prop
Using root manage i did a search for build.prop to play around (back up naturally) with the LCD Denisty. During the search i fould 2 build.props. One located /data/data/com.android.browser/app_plugins/build.prop and the other /system/build.prop... Do I need to sync the two values of will changing /system/build.prop be sufficient?

Yeah, you can say that would be the equivalent of setting a 1920x1200 resolution lcd monitor on your computer to 1900x1080 or something lower. The screen will obviously be blurry because it's not the native (optimal) resolution. It's not a good idea to do that on your computer, so I am not following why it would be on your phone.

Hi I have made a new theme, nothing big or fancy, just a theme that is inspired from the original Xperia X1, have taken some of the original X1 backgrounds and put them as backgrounds in the menus, and have also ported the boot screen. its a build from the 2.1 eclair rom, (2.1.A.0.435) with Arc home screen and Arc lock screen. And a transparent drop down menu. I love the feel of this theme, it makes it feel like a true classic SE phone ^^
The dock bar is half transparent witch makes your background shine though a little ^^
Some screens (not theme wallpaper on the imgs) (The Default wallpaper is attached)
Try it if you like it ^^ (Don't forget to make a backup before you apply the theme)
Install though xRecovery
Download
I really like that transparent notification bar...and i would download this theme, but the colorful images are to much for me lol. Nice job tho.

Thx for the theme!
Since you brought the X1 to my mind again, I just want to share something to smile about:
My retired X1 is running a stable Froyo build that's already faster than my X10 was on stock 1.6 and first unmodded stock 2.1 ROM Overclocked to 652Mhz instead of 600Mhz and a remarkable 24,5fps on Neocore (... without sound )! And everything working, Wifi, GPS, 3D Acceleration, great battery life
SE: 0 - XDA: ∞
edit: maybe your theme is running fine on the froyo version of my X1 - that would be pure awesomness!!! Just realized it's based on stock ROM, not on custom ROM

Yeah, I don't even get to see the first SE logo, so I can't see anything :/ the screen lights up and everything, but is just all black. I found a replacement screen but it goes for like 100$ so, don't know if it's worth it in the end, will have to wait and see.
Might see if I can find a broken X10 to buy cheep or anything
Did you try THIS?
Worked for me when my x10 was like that...
is there a way that i don't change the lockscreen icons? because arc lockscreen is freaking laggy compared to x10 stock 2.1 one.. i don't know why but it is true.. and is it possible to port the retail arc launcher into this theme? thanks in advance! =]
I dunno if this is pretty well-known or not, I do see a few threads in the Galaxy S II section, but I figured I'd let more people know since I just randomly found this on the market.
For those looking for a replacement to their stock lockscreen(and those craving the Honeycomb Lockscreen), SunPengfei brings us Ripple Lock on the Android Market!
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.MyLockScreen_free
There's a bit of customization that can be done and so far everything's worked pretty well for me. You can change the font color, style, and size. There's the ability to have app shortcuts as well.
The free version does sport an ad at the top, but there is a paid version you can buy. I'll stick to the free version myself, just waiting until the quality is a little better, but who knows, I might just purchase it anyways. It's only a buck and some change.
I think it's a great compliment to any honeycomb theme out there.
P.S. Would this be better in Themes? I dunno.

Yeah I thought about that, I've been all over my phone messing with Go Launcher and stuff, so I can't give a good reading, but I'll probably charge to full later and I'll take a look.
If anybody else decides to try it out, let us know!
I ran it for a few hours then it became very unreliable.
Sent from my X10x using XDA Premium App
I had it for a week or so, and noticed it unreliable too (2.2.2)
Its pretty, and more convenient to "unlock" being able to drag the circle any-which-way you want... but meh.
Doing ok for me so far, but I'm hoping for updates to make it more reliable as well. I did read a few comments with some gripes, but I think it's got potential.
What ended up happening with it for you guys? Was it that 'double lock' thing?
The circle would get "stuck". Had to cycle the lockscreen (via power button) a few times to get it to reset and work. Also found it sluggish at times.
Overall, I thought it was good, if those problems were not there.. but at the end of the day, if its eating even a moment of extra battery, its simply not worth it for me.

Make sure none of the app shortcuts are broken, define a background image and make sure to set ALL options.
it wasn't until I did that that it started working good. REAL good. now I can have my camera loaded up faster than my stock lockscreen would unlock on my DX2
much faster and more useful than stock 2.2 lockscreen.
the honeycomb lockscreen from lockbot is better...
Works well except for the power button not turning the phone back on. Have to push the volume buttons to get the phone turned on to unlock.
Nexus S 4G with CM7 nightly.
You can also use lockbot, I'm not trying to troll but I've used both lockscreen replacements and lockbot seems more like the original honeycomb lockscreen. There is a free and pro version.
Check it out.
-Remember, Android hell is a real place and you will be sent there at the first sign of defiance-
sadly it randonmly works on my x10, using 2.1 version, dunno what's wrong
sometimes it won't change to this lockscreen it gets back to the original one and worst to restart

EDIT: ok, so, using for a couple hours, i really hate the fact that the volume buttons will turn on the screen on. and, if i don't have it silenced, beep. Its really annoying, and i may end up just uninstalling it if it bugs me too much.
Free version is compatible with the Dell Streak, but paid version is not. I bought the paid version while using a captivate for a couple of days and when I went back to my Streak could not install the paid version. I ask the dev about it and sent information verifying my purchase and the response was that it is Google's fault. Won't fix the issue and won't refund.
Edit: I am on a stock ROM, so it's not because of some strange configuration.
I was wondering if anyone have ever used the LCD Density changer application in the Android Market. If so, which would be the best way to correct the issues with the dialer being out of place after the density change. I prefer having smaller text on the screen that is why I've opt to changing the density to 200 and below in the settings. I will post a screenshot of the issue I am having after the density change.

I also noticed my text werent coming through when my density was changed. After i rebooted they came in.

Which is the best way to get smaller text within the whole ui? I used spare parts + to make the text smaller but I'd prefer the text size to a bit smaller throught the ui.
UPDATE: So I found a way around the incompatible app situation.

**UPDATE: I've also found an app in the market called LCD Density Modder Pro, which claims to fix the market compatibility issues. Purchased and testing. Will update with more information after testing for some time.

I just hate the dialer issue. There are some other problems when changing the resolution.. Wish it wouldnt cause problems with other applications because I love how the whole UI looks when the fonts are much smaller.
Didn't even know this existed
This is my screenshot with 200 density.
Everything looks great except for Dial Pad.
I used Rom Toolbox to have the density set permanently. Even after reboot.
I love it

Been using 720p res, crazy lol
Also 720p here. Using Go Launcher Ex and Go Dialer which has awesome themes...iphone keyboard also! Everything works fine and youtube videos look two or three times better. Checkout big buck bunny on youtube at different settings then on 720p and be amazed..

Don't you have problems with Market updates?
I use LCD resolution and have never had issues with the market
I haven't had that issue. Texts come in just fine.
