new video app - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

Anyone get the new video app to play market rentals? Mine keeps saying "failed to fetch license (error 12)".

Are you rooted? It blocks rooted devices

not rooted
Yea, I know about that. :-(
No, not rooted.

Yep just tried and it let me install but no streaming, it's probably only because the market doesn't recognize the firmware now so it's simply not blocking the download.

[Q] New Videos App

I am having a small problem with the new Videos app. I have it installed and can run it, but when I go to My apps in the market it is listed under "Not Installed" , not sure why. Then when I try to install it from there, I accept the permissions and it seems as if it's going to dl/install, but the app just appears back in the "Not Installed" area. Any ideas?

Try to force stop the Market app, clear the the data for it, then open it again. Does it still come up as not installed?

Happens a lot for me. I just ignore it, it fixes itself over time.
I tried clearing the data and stuff and it still shows up there. I guess I just have to wait it out?
have you tried using the videos app to rent a movie? were you able to watch the movie in the videos app?

Note- you cant be rooted to use it.
not rooted
what's the apk name of this video app?
Anyone got it hacked to an apk?
The market on tablet sucks. Just deal with it until they update.
What videos app? I have the newest update but I don't see what you are referring too.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
that might be because you are rooted, it is not available for us in the UK either.
Videos app broken?
I just got the 8.4.4.11 OTA update and tried to watch a movie using the Videos app. First, it would not let me stream it. It says "The rental period for this video has expired." Then, I tried to download the movie to the device and got the "Failed to fetch license for [movie title] (error 49)”. My device isn't rooted. I e-mailed Google about the issue to see what is going on....anybody else had success watching a movie on their Eee Pad?

[Q] Hulu Plus

Decided to try the new Hulu Plus app since it has been updated. I am no longer getting the dreaded error 93 DRM check, but now when I try to load a video ads will play but when the video is about to start I get error "Streaming Unavailable [52]". Can anyone comfirm that it is happening on your device, maybe they finally got rid of the DRM check? Would love it if someone could verify, might have better luck then me.
It seems that EOS 4.2 rom is able to pass the drm check, but 4.1 roms don't.

[Resolved] [Q] Unable to sign into YouTube App - An error has occurred - anyone know how to fix?

Hi,
Wondering if someone could help. I downloaded
While its a brilliant ROM for my Desire S, the dev for reasons unknown has not used apps signed from Play Store, therefore some apps like YouTube refused to update.
Using Titanium backup, I remove YouTube, rebooted the phone, reinstalled it via Play Store, and while its now linked correctly and up-to-date, it refuses to sign my Google account in.
I'm getting an error message stating "an error has occurred" when the app is first loaded, when attempting to click the sign in options and when any video is played.
The videos will play but I can sign into YouTube with my own account to see my history, uploads, channels, etc...
I tried clearing YouTube app data and cache, reinstall but same issue.
Would be a pain to have to wipe and start again considering this is the only app doing this.

Here is the solution that worked for me. If you go into the 'app info' for YouTube, you can uninstall the current update. This seemed to be the problem, afterwards I was able to log in via google. A full reinstalling does not work because that still uses the current update. You must only get rid of the latest update App Version 4.2.16. After doing so, I am using App version 4.1.23 and everything is flawless.
Click and hold on YouTube-->drag to app info-->uninstall updates-->okay --> it works.

[WhatsApp] Error Message relating to 2.11.152 update

I updated my WhatsApp a week ago and now I'm getting a message in the app frequently saying "This version of WhatsApp will require an update in 14 days..."
I checked in the Play Store and the version there is 2.11.150 as compared to 2.11.152 installed in my phone!
P.S. I had installed the app from Play Store only.
Anybody else with the same problem?

Me too, and i only use apps from play store.
If it's related to acquisition by FB, it deserved a little more attention.
