Problem with HTC HD7 Camera

Hello
Now i am going to return my HTC HD7 phone and change it for a new one.
Why?
The camera wont turn on neither on the camera button neither in the menu.
Here is the film, what it actually does.
I understand that i am not allone with this camera issue.
So far there is no solution for this problem so in this case there is only return and get a new one option.

Camera Issue Solution
I had the same problem with my HTC HD7 and have found a possible solution. I simply took the battery out and my SIM card, let it sit for about 1 minute. Put the SIM card back in and the battery then turned the phone back on. It fixed my camera issue.
I am not saying this will fix the issue permanently but it worked for me, I havent had any issues with the camera thus far.

Yet another reason to stop buying HTCs phones IMO.

OP, I've never had that problem nor have I heard of it, so it's most definitely specific to your device so using the manufacturers warranty and getting a replacement is definitely the best solution, although nando's workaround might work...or a hard reset if it's a glitch.

AFAIK Its a windows phone issue, It has nothing to do with htc, HD7 or whatever.
It happens to zune, and marketplace too, and It only takes a simple reboot to solve it.
Still, if you believe its an hd7 issue, you shouldnt be asking it here. This is a windows-phone 7 forum, and device-related problems should be asked in their respective forums.

I have fixed this problem by myself, its an hardware problem. Nobody helped about the solution even HTC engineers. I can send the solution photos. [email protected] (Antalya/TURKEY)

As stated already, You might get better help with HD7 issues if you post in the HD7 specific forum, and it might help to keep the device trolls at bay...

I tried two ways of succesfully fixing this:
-3 times hard resetting
-3times soft resetting
Both did the trick for me, but for obvious reasons I now always soft reset 3 times whenever this occurs.
(Hasn't happened since NoDo tho..)

I do have a same problem. I am from indonesia, already told the shop which i bought this phone. They cant give me any replacement, only said, under repair or somekind of service.
Actually i rarely use handphone camera, but under this situation, felt weird. Any one has solution? please share..

It's a hardware issue with certain batch of the HTC HD7. I suggest you take your phone in for a replacement.

But they wont replace for a new one, i just bought it 3 weeks ago. The said they will repair it or under service. What a shame..

My buddy's HD7 had the same problem but seemed to go away with NODO. Is your phone all updated?

Hi there
I had the same issue with my HD7. O2 serviced it for me and it worked for another few months. Today the camera wont load again. I would say it is a software issue rather that hardware issue as I remember when it happened before soft reset and then hard reset could fix the issue till it completely stopped.
I need to take it again to the service.

it's remind me my desire phone ( android ) i had the same problem after clockword and cooked rom install. i just updated the phone radio and all was ok.
I know it's not the same plateform but i hope it can help maby try to update software.

I have done that already. Did not help. I also took the battery and the sim card out for 5min but still the same... Only service

HTC HD7 Camera Dead
Hi all,
I have the same problem - just went to use the camera on day and no response. Pressing the camera button or intiating from within the software just results in the menu scrolling away (as though the camera is starting) and then scrolling back.
I've tried pulling the battery and sim - no luck.
Unfortunately my location means I can't send it back for repair with it costing $$$s and taking over a month.
Only had the phone a couple of months - not very happy.
There seems to be a lot of people writing about this exact issue on the HTC forums so I can only assume it is indeed a hardware fault in a batch of the HD7s rather than a software issue.

Hi, all.
Here is the situation....
In the past week or so I been getting update notices for .....45.....
Message was so brief that I haven't had a chance to get all numbers..
After accepting an update phone was hanging on the exclamation mark doing absolutely nothing over night...
Of course, I have my phone S-off and rooted. Nothing else was done yet, same stock ROM with no alterations. Now the tough part. Since that attempted update battery life was awful... Needed to charge almost twice a day...
NOW!!!! Does not take the charge at all... Charger works, charging my HD2 + USB computer charger nothing works. When plugged in and I remove the battery, insert it back it gives me an amber light for 5 seconds, then goes dark. Cannot boot with power cable plugged in..... Bunch of crap...
Did anybody else ran in to the same problem? Was that update meant to kill the phones with S-OFF? Or it's just my phone crapped up or battery?
Please give me some guide... 3 week old phone and so many problems.

Phone doesn't charge at all

Never, really never install an ota on a rooted ROM, even if its stock. I guess you should start by reinstalling stock ROM and wipe before. The charging thing is a known bug due to recovery. An update is available which you should install. You will have to manually charge the battery with a cut charging cable. Instructions can be found in this forum.

And my phone have the same acting as you.
I call my local HTC service. he say he will take my phone to check.
After one day HTC told me the problem is the mainboard. He have to change for me, but do not have the spare prats now, so I have to wait.
But today HTC call me he will change the new phone!!!!!.
I am waiting to confirm for the date.

[Q] Sensation XE sound stutter/skipping

Hey guys,
since a few days my Sensation XE has some random wierd sound issues. Its nearly the same as the sound issue on the HTC One X ,which got fixxed by a hotfix (i think today or few days ago) by HTC ota update.
I found a thread in the One X forum, which explains it really well.

A hard reset wasnt helping either. It still has this sound bug.
I am running Sensation XE stock Rom with Sense 3.6 and ICS 4.0.3 with T-mobile as carrier.
Is this a common problem on the XE and is there a fix for this?
Its really hard to hear any music, because this stutter is really hurting my ears sometimes.
The HTC support told me to get use of the garanty, because they have no idea.
I would likely stay at stock ROM if this is possible, because i am a big noob to Android Phones and rooting and i dont want to mess things up.

[EDIT] Its not Beats Audio. If i disable it nothing changes. Sound bug is still there. I am using stock music app. Using PowerAmp hasnt helped either.

So i am still here and i didnt find a solution.
I tested this problem with an other SD card, but the problem is still there.
I am now also considering to root my phone, if someone knows if it will fix it (maybe because it is a known bug with Sense 3.6)

So... I tryed this method in a different way. at first i used the musicplayer without a backcover. Soundbug still there.
Good thing i had two different backcovers for my sensation i exchanged my backcover with a new one. Soundbug still there.
The next day i tried hearing some music (i thought i would get the soundbug like i did before). But i DIDN'T! It is completly gone now. I dont know why. I had the bug with exchanging the backcover. Then over the night it was gone. I still believe that this bug is still there in a weird way, but maybe i am just a bid paranoid >_>
But i am still thinking that something is wrong with my phone.
Now some of my pictures i had on my phone are getting distorted, like half of the picture is green and a bid shifted.

Hi, i didn't want to started new thread but after spending 2 hours of searching i gave up Something weird happened with my device. When i press power button i can see Sense unlock screen, i can see that i have network signal even wifi connection. I can even plug device to pc and there is a connection. But when i try to unlock device there is no response, no vibration nothing at all. Does any of Ya had the same problem. I'm on a stock HTC Rom with official ICS update so nothing special (my device is still on warranty )

because your STOCK and still under ware tee I would bring this to the attention of your provider or who ever handles the warentee issues for your device. Perhaps they can offer a fix OR replace the device through warentee. I'm pretty sure you won't have any problems going through warentee. You have not altered your device in anyway so you will be good. I would contact them asap and see what they have to say. I wish you the best and hope you get this resolved soon. Let us know what they say. Likely you will get a new device . Good luck!

I live in Norway so as You know Scandinavian countries recieved ICS update as first. I was running my device without any problems since then, nothing at all and then yesterday evening this **** happened Yeah but i can try fixes or tommorow i will get Nexus Damn i hope those guys at the store aint gonna make any problems (i spared money for 6 months to buy this phone and now that :/ )

Finaly today i got my phone back. They just flashed new Rom into it. You can imagine how happy i was (let the customize begin ) When i came back home the first thing i've done was installation of ADW Launcher Ex then suddenly i see that my volume button is missing (FUUCKK) I've found it on the carpet. So i've tought that i'll read about it in the internet. Everyone was complaining about HTC's Customer Service. But i've filled the form, attached two photos and after five minutes THEY called me. The guy was verry nice and only because my device is six months old i don't have to pay for the cover BUT suddenly right after we end talking a LAG came back. SOME FUUCKKINNGG DISASTER !!! So my friend have called me and i was able to answer the phone. I think it's because of ADW Launcher because right after i've unnistaled it everything works fine. Such a shame, i really like this launcher. Can You guys give me some tips about launcher similar to ADW. Cheers

Just take the plunge and root the phone and stick a rom on there.

Phone screen turns on randomly

It didn't happen to my device until I upgraded to 4.0.4 Android and HTC Sense 4.1 (Spanish Orange network HTC One S version 2.38.75.4).
When it switch on while on a pocket it is very annoying as the phone "tries" to make an emergency call.

I was flashing the new Viper on my nieces phone and didn't quite get everything set up the way she likes it before she had to go home so I had to restore her nandroid of Viper ICS and now she is texting me telling me she is having this issue. Can anyone tell me if they ever had this issue and resolved it and if so i guess i might resolve it when i see her next weekend by reflashing the ROM? Or is it a serious issue or maybe one she can resolve? thanks for any info pertaining to this, my niece is quite picky and i am sure any of us crackflashers here know what it is like when you promise a woman the best for her phone then screw it up for her, never hear the end of it! lol. thanks for any help!

All i can really think of is that in the viper rom you have the option under tweaks to let the screen turn on when a message arrives. Mine used to do the same thing every once in a while but it was somehow connected to my data connectivity jumping all over the place so i re-flashed and wiped caches which did the trick.
Hope you get the problem resolved for your nieces sake!

I'm having the same issue with my Evo LTE

The same problem with SGS2 / ICS 4.0.3. Any idea how to fix that please ? It is VERY annoying, cuz it drains my battery !!!

If there are still people with this kind of issue,
I would recommend to check for "wakelock" usage.
As third-party apps can use "wakelock" to turn on the screen, there might be some buggy app which is using the feature improperly.
I had the same case before, turned out that "Naver Mail" app was using Screen wakelock to turn the screen on randomly.
As a solution, there is an app in Google Play called "Wakelock detector" which has a feature to show statistics of Screen wakelocks.

Random Screen On caused by faulty power adapter
I changed my power adapter for charging, and the problem went away immediately. I assume it was the result of either drawing too much power, or not enough to charge the phone. Anyway, there you go. Hope it helps! :silly:
