How do you make use of the rar file. What do I need to convert it into a sbf file usable in rsdlite?
I can't believe I'm reading this.

why, you've seen it hundreds of times
too bad there isn't a quick way to look those things up

hi everyone, i rooted my droid 2 a couple of months ago. the phone has been freezing up so i am going to take it into verizon but i need to get rid of any evidence that the phone was rooted. i was planning on doing an sbf recovery to "unroot" the phone and go back to stock. i downloaded rsd lite 4.9 and downloaded the 2.3.20 sbf file. how should i go about doing this, do i need to use ubuntu if so how? i have two computers to do this from one with windows xp os and vista os.
Maybe an SBF will fix your problems outright, so you don't have to take it to Verizon.
It's easier to do an SBF in Ubuntu but it's not a necessity.
Make sure that you have the required Motorola drivers installed. After that you need only run RSD Lite, plug your phone in, choose the SBF file, and watch it go.
I would recommend looking up a guide to SBFing for good measure, they're easy to find, and very helpful.

Even after adding the APN, I only get G. No EDGE, no 3G, no H.
I am going to try APN Manager.

It probably needs the baseband updated. Based on what's in the Androidiani stuff for A853 this is the /system/motorola/bp_nvm_default directory. I guess that needs to match your sbf? Maybe we should compile a bunch of basebands and make an XT720 targeted recovery...

There is no /system/motorola folder in this build.
/dev/block/mtdblock10 /system/etc/motorola yaffs2 ro 0 0
In that way I use the baseband from the right for me sbf

Yeah, except all the custom ROMs I've seen (even on Milestone A853) specifically disable that. That fact makes me think there's something up. It's the cust partition in nandroid (it's yaffs format).
this i will hope fix 3g

I had run comparing, when I was stock.
they were equal. So I decided to use the cust partition. (there was commented entry in the stock inits)
Actually they are mounted ro, and in my opinion are used just once to populate /data/bp_nvm.......
Then the data in data is modified and used.
I have no concern using cust position, as the whole nand is the same. So some reading of it wont hurt

Not sure if it will work from Humble 4.22 but in case anyone else wanted it. If only one from Humble 5.0 works let me know.

It's obvious I don't know how to search very well but have tried. How do you do a system dump? I looked at Odin but couldnt figure it out.

don't need to do a system dump to get apk's if there's a CWM file, just open it up and rip out what you need.. taking apart stock odin files takes a bit more work

Where can I get dungeondefenders.odex ?
Someone...please??
maybe try uninstalling dungeondefenders and installing it again afterwards...
What you need to do is download the stock 3.2.1 image from the MotoDev site and uncompress it. Try extracting from the .img files the files you need and uploading them to your Xoom via adb and you should be fine once you have got all the files that it needs (which you have removed in the past)
Let me know if you need more help, I use Linux for the task because its easy to manage .img files.
I'm sorry...where on the site can I download it? No luck finding it
Thanks again for helping!
please..? no sign of it anywhere on the Site

sorry, just noticed that in some xooms dungeondefenders came preinstalled. Mine didn't I don't have a dungeondefenders.odex that I could give you.
But why do you need it? Can't you just completely remove dungeondefenders from your device and install it from market later on (if you want)?
I'll try that, says the odex is needed for it and cordy for the latest small stock update available

There is a thread on rootzwiki in the Droid2Global section named "Another update" that may help you.
I can't post the exact link because I haven't reached the number of posts.
Let us know if you solve anything.
