Can Windows Mobile 6 be loaded on the Motorola Q?

Hey guys,
Sorry if this was posted somewhere before, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out what needs to be done if anything to install the Windows Mobile 6 onto my Motorola Q.
I understand that the original Q may not support WM6 out of the box, and I'm kind of new to hacked/burned ROMs to replace the standard stuff on these phones, however I've managed to pick up 2 different Pre-release versions of WM6, and I attempt to run them, but I get a bad contry code error or that the ROM isn't compatible.
Is there anything I can do as far as using a 'modified' ROM to make this work? I'd like to get WM6 onto this unit if possible.
Thanks in advance,
Tech
Do a google search. Really, no one can explain the whole thing in such a way you can fully understand.
Like you forgot to mention what versions of WM6 you got. Where they smartphone or WMPC? Which gadget where they made for? What is the exact error?
Also, I take it that you are in fact new, since this is a generally HTC website.
You could be better served at a Motorola Q forum.

Android Forums, get it working on your HTC

Hi!
Ive just set up a simple forum after finally getting Android to run on my Touch Dual. I thought i would just spread the word, because on the forum you can find posts with specific files and instructions to get Android to boot on various HTC Devices.
link
I know this would have saved me a lot of frustration when I was trying to get Android to work, as I struggled to find the right files for my device. Hopefully it will be just as helpfull for others!
CHeers!
any chance at that Android will work on my Eten M600?
Never seen that phone before..
Judging from specifications, Im guessing it is rather old? Il try to dig a bit and see what I can find

Yea, its kinda old, im waiting for the SE X1 to upgrade. And I appreciate you taking a look for me, I'll also doing some digging of my own
Your best bet would be to try to get hold of the zImage known to work on a similar phone. Il let you know if I find something that should work.
In the meantime, why dont you give the Android Emulator a go?
Thanks for the heads up. BTW, I tried the Touch version from your forum and it loaded into a black screen with some really small text, the text was something like:
shutting down device
loading linux
.......
.......
Sadly, I would guess you need a different zImage then
It does something but after the Linux boot thingy, I just get a white screen and nothing more. HTC Touch with Shadow 2.1 rom.
Checked out this post?
If it still doesnt work, I guess its the rom thats making it difficult!
I've tried it on the Universal with the zImage for openmoko but after haret finished loading, the screen wipes out and I get a great big vibration going forever till I soft-reset.

gba on i910

hi all. usually i just read the forums or use the search feature, but im stumped on this one.
I have a verizon omnia i910 flashed with adrynaline's m2d cf03 rom.
anyway, i am attempting to load up some gameboy roms (namely pokemon, the best time killer ive ever had, looking to reminisce a bit) but also some gba roms would be nice too...
I have tried pocketGBA and it wont even attempt to install, i've also tried morphgear but i keep getting a 5 minute timer lockout because its the trial. from what i've read its supposidly free and open source now, but i dont know whats up with that.
Does anybody have a free solution? dont be afraid to get technical.. i was on sprint's ATS for 2 years so im pretty sure i could handle anything you guys throw at me.
Moved as not software release.

[Q] SD card for use on htc hd2 running Windows Phone 7

I just flashed my HTC HD2 to run Windows Phone 7........ However, there is NO memory on the phone. I sent a total of five text messages and the phone is stating that it needs more memory....I have a skandisk 16gb sd card but cant seem to get it to work. PLZ Help...Thanks in advance.
i have the same problem. I stick the memory in phone but he don´t recognize it and won´t use it.
Same here. Is there a Problem with Sandisk SD cards and Win 7?
Same problem, anyone got answer for this?
Are wp7 phones not supposed to have external memory? I remember I read a LONG time ago wp7 devices were not going to support any sort of removable media. If this is true this might be what's happening to all of you. This is totally unconfirmed by me, I don't have an HD2 and I have never messed with wp7 ports so just sharing the very limited knowledge I have on this.
I feel like there's a forum reg w/ the answer sitting back laughing their butts off.
Lmao good intuition.
I searched and found this thread then 5 secs later I found the thread with the answers lol. Here it is for those who have not found it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918993

[Q] Transferring SMS from WinMo 6.5 to Windows Phone 7

I've spent several hours researching this, but I'm having a hard time finding anything in any way recent. Most of what I find suggests looking into using MyPhone, which went black for Windows Mobile 6 months ago.
I need to transfer the texts from my Windows Mobile 6.5 phone to my new Windows Phone 7 handset. I've found how to transfer contacts, etc, but nothing for my texts. The best I've found is to copy the few most important ones to the SIM, but that's maybe 50 messages at best.
It doesn't seem like getting them out of 6.5 is the hard part - getting them into 7 seems to be the catch. Can somebody please tell me that some progress has been made in this area in the past 5 months? I'd even take it to the AT&T store, and let them use their little copy tool, if that's what it takes.

I am afraid that such a solution, at present, does not exist.
I would be happy to be proved wrong, though.
Well, thanks for confirming what I was afraid of. Oh well. If anybody wants to prove us wrong, I'd be happy for them to do so, too.
microsoft set-up the "sms access api" request as "under review"
maybe in next releases ...
