According to the HTC website, the HTC Desire S should have Bluetooth 3.
However, when I check the Hardware info on the phone, it says Bluetooth 2.1+EDR.
Does anyone know which one is correct? I think file transfers from my laptop didn't go as fast as bluetooth 3 should be capable of.
HTC tells it is 2.1
http://www.htc.com/europe/product/desires/specification.html
Ok, too bad then.
The dutch website (/nl/ instead of /europe/) says 3.0, but that is probably incorrect then...

The current FM Radio App is really bad on the HD2 and it does not help that the FM hardware within the HD2 is so bad also.
In my case for some bizzare reason the FM Radio randomly when i am listening to the radio will start to dial the last dialed number.
However does anybody know of any other FM Radio software for the HD2? PowerRadio does not work with HD2.
Thanks,
Rishi
Hey, the 'randomly dials last number' bug is posted here on the forums and is known. What model earphones are you using when this happens? From what I gather from another thread this is due to 'bad' contact on the 3.5mm plug which has said to happen especially with certain brands of earphones.
I, however, had this bug when I had the HD2 plugged into my car's stereo via a simple 3.5 to 3.5mm aux cable. I haven't had this since upgrading my rom from stock, though.
(this happens with any audio btw, in my case Sense Music player, not FM radio)
Would you be able to state which ROM and earphones/headset you're using?
EDIT: Here's the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=637502&highlight=HD25 .
I am using the 24th April 2010 219XX EnergyROM. It has also happened in all other Energy ROMs
However the headfones are very cheap quality and this could be the problem. Will change them across for another set of headfones and get back. Thanks for your help.
Any other good FM Radio Apps for the HD2?
From what i see on other threads, different ROMs and different headfones does not seem to make the problem go away 100%... its a bit of a hit and miss.

I spoke to an HTC UK Escalations Manager (Mike B) today who claims that HTC UK have never head of this and as he was the escalation's manager he would be the first to know.
Its clear that many people have reported this to HTC UK via the website but HTC simply chooses to ignore it.
I have forwarded this Thread's link to him so that he understands that there are a lot of people with this problem and hence simply claiming not to know about it is not the answer.
I have this problem on the Stock Rom too.
If you have reported this to HTC, can you kindly paste your Ticket Number here. This way the Escalation manager will know that there are a number of calls into HTC that he as the escalations manager has somehow missed. And that his statement of HTC has not had any such reports is incorrect.
Hello all,
I just wanted to inform you that Sim Access Profile is not working neither with this device.
I own a german car (ok, exclusivity for xda... it's an Audi ;-) ) with built in bluetooth hands free prep. I'm able to get Sim Access Profile with my work phone, a BB but not with the Sensation. I was hoping for but as it's the 5th HTC I have, none of them was able to sync the sim etc..
I know there are solutions (to be tested once the Sensation gets root) like rSap but still, just wanted to inform you.
Android doesn't support rSap, at least for now. Have to ask you though, as a vag-fan, does the bluetooth-phone work at all without rSap? Can you transfer phone numbers to it, and make calls just like with a normal (non-premium) bluetooth system?
Well, just connecting the phone to the MMI (MultiMedia Interface) via bluetooth, then I'm able to see my call history and my contacts. No more needs to intervent on the phone (no dialing directly on your device, can be done on the MMI), except for sms reading.
With SAP the signal should be handled by the external antena (on the car's display, normal bluetooth connection symbol is a phone but SAP connection is a sim card) and receive/read sms directly on the display.
They say that it can potentially save battery (the car is taking the phone role, disabling the gms on the phone and running it directly from it) and increase signal (external roof antena)
Audi a 4 avant and HTC sensation via bluetooth
@Swissman... so you assured me that's works with audi? I'm just going to buy the car and won't loose the HTC sensation and his capabilities. I'm interested in making phonecalls via Bluetooth. Be more clear please. Thanks
The car I dream Is an Audi a4 avant
so is there any normal solution for this?
Well, just rooted my phone so I will test two different softwares today and will let you know.
Thanks, let me now
Well, no luck... tried 2 different softwares (rsap) requiring root access to work, but even, no chance to pair the Sensation to my car :-(
Sorry for the bad news
Have no problem with my car. Works like charm.

Hi, which car do you have?
I have a Verizon htc trophy. On monday I tried to activate bluetooth for the first time in a few weeks or so. I turn the status to on, it searches, doesn't find anything and then kicks back to status off. I've tried this with 4 or 5 different bluetooth devices.
I've scoured the internet and this forum with every search term I could think of with no luck or even mention of a similar problem.
Notes:
I updated to mango beta through the windows phone developer portal when it was made available. I'm pretty sure I was able to use bluetooth at some point with that os, but can't be sure. I updated to the newly available leaked 7720 last night hoping it would fix the bluetooth issue, but it still persists.
No other problems with the phone, and I haven't dropped it or anything. I do however use it to track my runs, and enough sweat has gotten into it to start to change the water damage stickers.
Wich devices did u want to connect?
This phone canĀ“t connect with other phones, just with a few bluetooth-car-kits
and somethig like that!
I've now tried with a laptop, desktop, a cheapy noisehush bluetooth headset, a motorola s9-hd and also a motorola s10... Pretty sure all of which I have been able to connect with before (certain on the s9-hd and noisehush headset).
Any thoughts? This is a pretty limiting problem, especially since my state has banned the use of cellphones while driving.
I'm pretty close to opening the thing up and seeing if one of the Bluetooth antenna wires has popped off its connection maybe.
Anybody want to take a final stab at this question before I tear into my phone?
hi,
I have exact the same issue with my HD2. I have 7720 running. With 7392 it worked fine.
regards Coolity
It's possible there is an HTC driver needed to access the Bluetooth radio on the Trophy that is not on the Beta or RTM but would be on the final Mango roll-out ROM for this phone. All I can suggest is try to load the leaked VZW Trophy Mango ROM (but you can't unlock since it wipes the phone) or wait for VZW to roll out Mango for this phone.
Thanks for the responses. I have installed this version of Mango:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254384
which I'm pretty sure is as final as it gets. I did notice one thing, however. The firmware version seen here is 2305.13.20198.6 something, mine is 2305.13.20104.605.
Maybe this is the reason? All other revision numbers are the same, including the OS version in that picture.
This just in....
I also don't have regular fm radio. It's stuck loading (on 4 minutes now) with no moving forward.
Anybody else having these problems? Tried FM radio with the HTC shipped earbuds and it is still stuck on loading. The bluetooth is still experiencing the same problems.
I've tried to use the leaked htc verizon rom again but am not able to re-flash using the same steps as before.
I opened up the phone and looked around and it appeared that everything looked ok. no burn/oxidation marks anywhere.
Currently any SENSE 4.0 ROMS connecting to Bluetooth car kits DO NOT WORK at all.
My findings are as follows:
At the weekend i thought i would test something out whether or not all the custom roms that are being cooked with sense 4.0 have the problem with bluetooth connectivity to car kits or is it actually any sense 4.0 roms IE: A BRAND NEW HTC ONE X STRAIGHT FROM THE BOX RUNNING STOCK INSTALLED ICS SENSE 4.0 BUILD.
I drove to a car phone warehouse centre to day and asked if i could try the new HTC ONE X and tried to get it to connect to my car kit (my car kit is THB BURY CONNECT 8 UNIVERSAL BLUETOOTH CRADLE and guess what NO WAY would it connect at all. We even tried to get the ONE X to connect to the shop managers own portable car kit and again NO WAY would it connect to any car kit at all.
The phone and car both agree that a PAIRING connection has been made but when i use it to either ring out or receive a call the radio DOES NOT MUTE AS REQUIRED ringing tone sounds over the car speakers but I can`t hear the caller except THROUGH TO PHONE'S OWN SPEAKER which isn`t very useful. Would a ROM or radio upgrade help or is it just a compatibility problem.
Not sure if the following will help developers etc but i had an idea.
(In sense 4 there is an app that HTC has written straight into the built called CAR. Its a steering wheel with the app name car written on it. When you activate the app and go into it it asks for a variety of questions to connect automatically etc etc.)
My question is any developers please try and take out the files that relate to this app as i believe it is conflicting with any third party bluetooth devices which try to connect to it even if you turn off all the defaults in the HTC CAR APP in sense 4 .
I had that issue in sense 3 a while ago when i installed the htc car app called car dock and it gave the same problems then and i wonder if this is the issue now.
It seems very strange that even a Brand New HTC ONE X has the same problem with a stock rom installed thus now giving light to the fact may maybe is generic with all SENSE 4.0 builds STOCK or OTHERWISE.
If anyone has any ideas on this or if there are any HTC employees that may have access to finding any further evidence to the above please lets all get together and find a solution to the problem and cure it so that everyone can drive safely with a working BLUETOOTH CONNECTION.
Please pm me if further info is required.
Yup blue tooth is a bug you want it get a 3.6 rom
Sent from my Sensation using xda premium
Hello Craven, im currently running a 3.6 rom now but have tested a lot of the custom roms on here and the findings are all the same as also posted by other users.
My findings were to help try to find a solution to the problem not just to switch over to a 3.6 rom but to get the community together to work out a solution to this annoying problem.
The interesting thing is that HTC are releasing NEW phones to the market and their STOCK ICS SENSE 4.0 BLUETOOTH CAR KIT CONNECTIVITY DOES NOT WORK.
Im currently in contact with HTC to report this finding whether it will help i dont know but was trying to help with the findings i had with a BRAND NEW PHONE not just a cooked ROM. If this issue is with ALL SENSE 4.0 PHONES then shouldn't HTC do something about it ie: A ROM UPDATE ETC. addressing the issue.
Hey guys,
I have a bluetooth headphone (Wearhaus Arc), which I had to sent in for repair recently. Since I have them I faced with connection issue, but sometimes it worked at the first go. Also because I wasn't able to update to firmware, the support told me to return it. Before doing so I unpaired the headphone from my phone (HTC One M8 running latest official stock unbranded Android 6.0).
Since I got headphone back, my phone isn't able to "see" the headphone. Bluetooth is on and the headphone as well, but for my phone it's like the headphone isn't there/switched on. I did some pairing testing with other phones (HTC Sensation, BlackBerry Q10, HTC HD2), which found the headphone immediately and worked fine. So my guess is, that only my M8 has a problem with it. Pairing, unpairing and "repairing" (pairing again) between my M8 and the other mentioned phones worked well, so there can't be an general bluetooth issue.
After doing a factory reset on my M8 I'm a step futher, because now the phone sees the headphone (somethimes), but it isn't able to establish a connection. In case my M8 sees it, I tap on the available devices, the phone tries to connect, but a second later I get the message: "unable to pair. Make sure your devices are on and discoverable, and then try pairing again". Rebooting the phone does not work. I also cleared the data and cache of the bluetooth share app and performed a network reset like described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/htc-one-m8-bluetooth-wont-android-6-0-t3340279
My question to you guys is, what can I do, to get the headphones to work?
Is it possible, that the phone has is still a piece of information left about the former connection, which refuses any new connection?
Is there a file on the phone, which stores the bluetooth connections? if yes, maybe deleting or editing the file could help?
Thank you in advance!

Are you sure that the Bluetooth antenna of your phone is working correctly? It sounds like its an issue of the phone.

Maybe, but as I have written, my M8 can be paired in both directions with the other mentioned phones flawlessly. That's why it actually can't be a general issue, right?
Is there a possibility to test the Bluetooth antenna?
