Does anyone have a fully working Google Chat with video that can take/receive video calls and works over 4g? P3droid released one but it only works on wifi.
Thanks!

Nope, its not a problem with the app but an issue with the base of the OTA.. I would suggest using Tango as it works just fine

Agreed. Or Skype, which seems to work better than Tango for right now.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm looking for something that will let me do video calls with my existing contacts. I'm using Skype but also have a lot of gchat only contacts.

I've found this http://www.dialandroid.com/2011/09/how-to-install-gtalk-13-video-chat-on.html Even after wipe cache, wipe Davik, it still forces close on me. If anyone knows how to make it to work, that would be awesome! I'm on Humble 4.2 btw.

Hey guys, I'm working with some things on the standard Vibrant and I'm aching to try out the Qik software you guys have with a Vibrant 4G FFC I have installed. If someone could link the apk that would be great.

Grab Bionix Frost on the Vibrant forums.
It includes Qik, and the correct drivers for the FFC.

Gracias I'd still like the latest APK if possible though. I got a message requiring an update on that ROM for that apk and it wouldn't allow me to update.
odd. mine just updated fine.
let me pull it real quick.

Ok awesome links. The first one doesn't allow me to use the FFC but the second one does it just has a sideways orientation is all. Atleast I'm getting somewhere!
Oh and for the record, the system camera app works just fine it's just the video chat apps I'm trying to test with and see what can we can confirm working. So far that second Qik link is all I've gotten to show the FFC of the latest non-banding FFC floating around.

both should be installed.
are you using the SGS4G FFC? or the i9k FFC?
I've searched the forums, google etc and can't see an answer to this. I've updated my ROM to the latest from Virtuous Unity running sense 3.0 and android 2.3.4 but when i try and do a video call, either with google chat, or Skype, my image always comes out sideways to me, and to the other person, no matter which way i turn my phone.
Any ideas why? Is there a solution? Tried a couple of other ROMs but same issue.
Any help would be appreciated

As far as I know this is a 'known bug' don't think there is a work around for it yet

Is your mirror app unsidedown when you turn your phone to landscape?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
also for me, i can video call with skype without a problem
Yeh so can I. But test your mirror app. What kernel are you on
using 'My Mirror' from the market, no problems in landscape mode.
Kernel is v9.
I'm a bit of a noob with all this flashing lark, i rooted the phone and installed the 2.39 virtuous rom, so no idea if that changed the kernel to the one that the phone came with. How do I know?
Installed latest Skype and you are right video is now correct, but still sideways on google talk which i use more and prefer. So guess it's a google thing?
Now that Sprint has updated the stock ROM to android 2.3.5, I'm looking to use Google Video Chat.
My understanding is that Sprint disabled the video chat capability, as I think they did with the 3D, but that was "fixable" with the addition of a couple of files and and some changed permissions.
Anyone able to do the same for the 4G yet?

There is a thread over on the 3d forums on how to do this, as long as you have a nandroid why not try it out on the 4g and see if it works?

I just tried it with my wife's phone and it didn't work but it could be the rom too. I'll try with another rom and if it works I'll link the thread in here.

Hi,
this is a well known problem in ICS, and all builds have this problem. I've been told that its due to the drivers.
Hope this helped,

I can confirm this. A friend has the Sensation w/ ARHD 3.6.13 and I have the Sensation w/ARHD6.21. His Skype video looks normal, while my Skype video is green. Great if you want to look like the Hulk, otherwise not so much.

It's only an issue on certain phones/tablets running ICS. I had the Galaxy Nexus which obviously only has ICS and Skype video was just fine.
Mike will update ARHD 6.3 today, and I'll give it a try. I hope HTC fixed this problem in their latest base.

Any news on whether it's working with the new base or not?
Sorry for seeming impatient - dying to give ICS a try but can't until Skype video is working.
Thanks,

I'm on Hypersensation ICS 0.4 ROM, I also have the same problem. The Skype video calling problem is the only issue I have with ICS at the moment, and sadly it doesn't look like Skype will be fixing this any time soon.

I've installed it but only weather notifications work. Voice search is also a little glitchy. I would love it if I could edit sports teams to receive notifications, etc. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. The option to edit teams is greyed out in the Google Now options.

Sorry about that. I have Jester's build on my phone... also tried to edit the double post but it won't let me as a noob
As for the sports teams, I'm having trouble too. It found the Baltimore Orioles for me and notified me of the score. The only trouble is that I'm not a baseball fan; instead, I wanted the Ravens tracked but there's only the option to uncheck the Orioles with no way to add the Ravens. I tried some pointed google searches and no go.
I chose not to use this while running the Bamf release due to poor battery life. Now that I'm running liquid I'll have to install it when I get home from work.

well, i've experienced some issues with the voice aspects on liquid ICS, as have others. google now works perfectly on jester's desensed rom and the bamf leak. i'm hesitant to look further into my issues with google now on liquid ICS because i believe some of issues with voice are yet unresolved issues with the rom itself, as it works on two of our other ICS roms perfectly.
No way in hell am I going back to Sense...
I would rather live without google now then to live with sense anything *shudders*
