Hey guys, I'm working with some things on the standard Vibrant and I'm aching to try out the Qik software you guys have with a Vibrant 4G FFC I have installed. If someone could link the apk that would be great.

Grab Bionix Frost on the Vibrant forums.
It includes Qik, and the correct drivers for the FFC.

Gracias I'd still like the latest APK if possible though. I got a message requiring an update on that ROM for that apk and it wouldn't allow me to update.
odd. mine just updated fine.
let me pull it real quick.

Ok awesome links. The first one doesn't allow me to use the FFC but the second one does it just has a sideways orientation is all. Atleast I'm getting somewhere!
Oh and for the record, the system camera app works just fine it's just the video chat apps I'm trying to test with and see what can we can confirm working. So far that second Qik link is all I've gotten to show the FFC of the latest non-banding FFC floating around.

id love to get my hands on this as well.
not sure if its allowed, but here is the link for the apk. It works on my Nexus One, but I don't really see anyone using this, its horrible. Keyboard layout is awkward, no autocorrect, and it probably drains the battery.

LOL works great on my INCREDIBLE hahaha
Finger covers camera but whatever haha.
Found this in the nexus one section the other day, works fine.
I'm using Sky Raider's 1.9 ROM and this app doesn't work for me. It installs and comes up but on a black screen with red keyboard and it "sends" but its never received by the person I'm texting. Anyone else have problems with this app?
I just want to see it work

Duh...can't believe I missed that.
Anyone have the HTC camera app apk floating around?
I miss the touch to focus and widescreen photos. Any similar camera app would be appreciated also.
Tried a search but only found a thread for an HTC Desire camera app but it's for CM5 (N1).
no touch and focus but the CM6 camera has widescreen just go to settings on the camera and choose 6.5mp
Huh, where, I can't find that
I'm not sure if this is going to work with CM6 (nightly or rc) or not, but here it is. Pulled from a stock Evo.
Um. CM6 doesn't have sense...HTC Cam isn't going to work.
When I was on CM5 on nexus, Paul @ Modaco was able to port the HTC Desire Camera (same as Evo) over to the Nexus and it worked on CyanogenMod.
Here is the old link:
http://android.modaco.com/content/g...era-application-on-nexus-one-mcr-cm-enomther/
Some people are already asking if it's possible with 2.2:
http://android.modaco.com/content/g...not-possible-on-vanilla-2-2-android-on-nexus/
I can't really blame you for asking though. I can't decide if the pictures are turning out as nice as the stock apk. I also am not a fan of the focusing on this version. These are major players for me when deciding my rom as one of my biggest uses for the phone is documenting the antics of my children.
As much as I love the rom and the work Cyan has put into it (which is extraordinary), I may go back to DC (also extraordinary work) 2.1 for the camera.
i'm thinking once froyo comes out offically for the evo then there will be a better chance of porting it

Not long to wait
Tried dumping HTCCamera.apk from ava froyo and the one from the new stock 2.2 with no luck. Just got 'Application not installed'... I'll be trying some new stuff tonight to try to get this loaded!
i dedicated about an hour and a half of my time to try and get the HTC camera app working on this. I followed modaco's layout for putting on the camera app, hoping that he didn't actually make many changes to the apk itself. It didn't work.
If i could figure out what he did to get it to work... that'd be great >=D

Maybe we could contact him and ask for advice or if he'd be willing to help us port it over for cm6. Just a thought.
Ok, so I pulled the de-odex'd HTCCamera.apk, and various /system/lib and /system/framework files from the new stock froyo build, in the same manner modaco did with his n1 port, and loaded it into a zip.
Flashed from clockworkmod over the 8/1 nightly and I did manage to get the HTC camera/camcorder apps loaded!!
However it would force close immediately.. ugh. Now I'm frustrated.
I'm no programmer, but it seems modaco modded the boot.img to get this working (as that is the only file I couldn't find an evo equiv for his n1 version).
The zip contains the CM6 boot.img (resulting in force close).
Tried using the stock (from the official froyo) boot.img, resulted in a boot loop.
I'm not even sure if this is the problem, but it seems logical from my standpoint.
I don't know how to mod it myself and I think I've made all the progress I can within my knowledge, so I'll post what I've got so hopefully someone else can tinker with it and get this working!

Check out Vignette in the market, its the best camera replacement I've used yet and it offers leas of great processing effects too. Full version costs money but there's a free demo version.
Tried Vignette and all it has are a bunch of filters.
Some of us want touch to focus to take nicer pictures.

its actually shoots 8mp too. if you look at the details on the HTC cam, its only 6ish MP. unless its a typo, but i dont think they could mess up the resolution like that.

Can't see that happening with Captivate's processor, despite the fact that they are used in other handsets; we don't seem to have the wherewithal to satisfy Netfix's DRM scheme.
I would love it if someone would post a link to the .apk to be able to 'test' compatibility...
Just go to the web market, it's there.
the web market shows it grayed out for both my xoom and my captivate.

Gotta be a way to spoof it!
I downloaded the app in the "Themes and Apps" section. Its running great under Perception II beta 3.
It runs under continiuum 5.4 without a problem.

I could be wrong but I think that is because CM7 is not a JVB or JVH official samsung code release. Those of us running actual Samsung code look like Nexus S devices to the netflix app.

Thanks, that did it!
However now all the apps think I'm on a G2. And swype won't work.
Could someone that's on a 2.3 Samsung rom with netflix working post their build.prop file?
Thanks again.
It seems that GB roms running as a nexus s in the build.prop can access playback. Anybody got a quick way to edit that file and directions on what to change for people with cyanogenmod?
EDIT: Doh, I'm an idiot. I should read the full thread before commenting. Thanks guys.
I tried it on cm7 with the build.prop spoofed to look like an HTC Vision and when it plays a video, there is no image, just sound. Any ideas?

Same.
My guess is that it is because CM lacks all of the codecs which you get with the official samsung roms.
I sideloaded it but it doesn't work on stock froyo. Another checkmark on the list to update to Continuum...

Works fine for me. Watched an episode of prison break, on my second now.
Running CM7 the 05092011 nightly.
Couldn't find this posted anywhere so here it is for anyone that needs it.
SamsungApps won't correctly download this package on gingerbread roms so I had to downgrade to 2.2 to fetch it for everyone.
Installing this apk then running it will update your built in camera(s) firmware to version OZ. Install directly from sd card, no need to push into /system (discouraged actually, as this app will ask you to uninstall it after it runs)
I'm not entirely too sure what has changed, but why not keep it updated if the update is offered.
This is the same update offered through SamsungApps. Nothing new, just an installable apk people can use to update their firmwares if they are outdated.
Enjoy.

It doesn't change the camera itself just the firmware. The OS version won't matter. I guess I had already upgraded mine at some point because it said mine was up to date.

Can't tell a difference either. Bit its done now. Don't remember panorama being an option but I musta overlooked it.
All I noticed was slightly better handling the camera. Pictures seemed to be a little easier to blow up and edit. Not a critcal update if you ask me, but haven't delved any further into it.

After installing this I was screwing around with my camera settings and ran the update firmware. It said I wasn't running the most current version so it updated something with my camera firmware then installed Samsung apps in my programs.
Not a bad thing I guess, its kind of like a mini market with 20-30 programs.
Light sensor is more accurate and adjust faster in this version.
Yay, this update brought back the ability to disable GeoTagging pictures that was lost in the firmware update that was released around the official Froyo update time.
