First of all let me introduce myself (plague) and say thanks to all you guys who are on XDA

Started out just trying to install a kernel, was in downloads on CM7, used rom manager to clear dalvik cache as it said, went to recovery to finish install, and now I have no Backup or Restore Options!!!!
Tried to reboot, and it forces update from zip...sprint lovers....gay
Anybody have any ideas on how to get my CM7 back, its just gone.
Still have original backup on clockworkmod, but cant access it through recovery
Cant get it to factory reset or nothing......

[Q] Please help, Semi biricked G2

Ugh! Please help! freaking out. I have a G2. I was messing around on Rom manager and downloaded a pershoot kernel, when it went to reboot.. It never turned back on. I did a factory reset, wiped SD, wiped data, wiped cache.. Is there any way to do a complete reset? I have S-On and everything.
chill out, just get odin and upload/download (whatever you like to call it) a actual stock rom to your phone. then it should work again!
It's a bootloop caused most time by wiping the dalvic cache completely, some of the dalvic cache files have critical system information in them..
Please explain the steps for that.. Or give a link or something.
should i tell you the 1,2,3-method ?
ok
1. download odin and a stock rom from the developers forum of your device
2. start odin, put your device in update/download mode, flash the stock rom
3. done! If not, use search: http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php or try youtube (flash g2 rom)

[Q] Endless Recovery Reboot

Hi,
I have a GSM(Non-US) Xoom 3G, rooted. I downloaded an update OTA and it failed to install. I wiped the cache and downloaded it again. I renamed it to update.zip and tried to install it manually. And now, I keep getting rebooted into recovery. I tried to wipe the cache again but to no avail. I tried to restore from a backup but it doesn't help either. I'd hate to do a factory reset.
Is there anything else I can do before I succumb to a factory reset?
Quick replies are highly appreciated. Thanks!
Edit: I did a factory reset and it didn't work! Please help me! I can't boot up normally anymore. What should I do??? T_T

[Q] stuck in fastboot Help

i have rooted my phone with gingerbreak and wanted to install gingersnap rom. i followed this methood http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197991 and my phone is stuck in fastboot now.... i am able to press home+voldown+power button to go into clockwork recovery i think thats what its called and pretty much nothing else please help im new to this stuff
Go into the recovery, then use the volume keys to navigate around and either the search button or the menu button will select things depending on the version you're using. Once you're there, wipe cache and dalvik cache, then reboot it. The boot will take a long time, if after five minutes it's still trying to boot, then go back into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache, then install a rom like gingersnap. If after another five minutes that isn't working, boot into recovery again do a factory reset (this will wipe all of your apps, contacts, calendar entries etc), wipe system, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache (do not wipe sd card or external storage) then install a rom like gingersnap and see if it boots up.
thanks for trying to help but none of that helped i dont really know how to install/flash a rom but i looked around a bit and found that i made a backup before i tryed to flash it so thanks

No Dalvik Cache?

Hello everyone. I have a little issue with my phone. I had JellyBam installed and I wanted to run an RUU to restore my phone and do a hardware warranty claim before I leave the country. I did a nandroid backup with TWRP before starting the process.
After I flashed the stock ville recovery i remembered i need to unlock my phone so I could use it in foreign countries. I wanted to use this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693491
I flashed TWRP and wanted to restore my nandroid backup. It said it failed and I dont believe it told me why it failed.
So then I thought I dont really need my old settings I just need a rooted phone to run some codes in the terminal and get the unlock code. So I decided to flash the jellybam zip folder along with its corresponding kernel. After rebooting it was stuck on the HTC logo.
When I tried to wipe Dalvik cache it said it failed. Then I was wondering if it was just from the recovery so i tried it with CWM. After selecting advanced, wipe Dalvik Cache. it didnt show the list of NO,NO,NO,NO,YES,NO. and it didnt say it failed either.
I think I hit a dead end... could someone please help me? Is the Dalvik cache gone or something?
I never had this happen but I think, if you completely wiped, installed a fresh Rom and never booted once its logically there's no dalvik as its only created on initial boot up.
