[Q] stuck in fastboot Help - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have rooted my phone with gingerbreak and wanted to install gingersnap rom. i followed this methood http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197991 and my phone is stuck in fastboot now.... i am able to press home+voldown+power button to go into clockwork recovery i think thats what its called and pretty much nothing else please help im new to this stuff

Go into the recovery, then use the volume keys to navigate around and either the search button or the menu button will select things depending on the version you're using. Once you're there, wipe cache and dalvik cache, then reboot it. The boot will take a long time, if after five minutes it's still trying to boot, then go back into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache, then install a rom like gingersnap. If after another five minutes that isn't working, boot into recovery again do a factory reset (this will wipe all of your apps, contacts, calendar entries etc), wipe system, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache (do not wipe sd card or external storage) then install a rom like gingersnap and see if it boots up.

thanks for trying to help but none of that helped i dont really know how to install/flash a rom but i looked around a bit and found that i made a backup before i tryed to flash it so thanks

[Q] LG Optimus V stuck in android system recovery

i was running CM7 then i went back to stock and it kept saying my memory was getting low so i went to settings>privacy>factory data reset. then now it wont come out of android system recovery with any rom or anything! PLEASE HELP!!
if i were you i would just load another custom rom:
1. in recovery, wipe data, cache, dalvik cache
2. connect your phone to your computer
3. download a custom rom on your computer and transfer it to your phone (by enabling usbms toggle)
4. flash the rom
ok i did that and it didnt work, said it installed successfully then i went to reboot system now and just went back in android system recovery.
Do it again and again and again until it works. Which recovery are you using and which rom? Btw, I guess you now know why they say not to use the inphone factory reset on the phone. May want to check in the ov forum instead of the general forums

[Q] HTC Desire with MIUI 2.1.13 not booting

Hi everybody.
I need help with my HTC Desire.
I have been for several months using MIUI and I´m very happy with it.f
Last weekend I updated it to 2.1.13 and it was working well until today.
Today the mobile has run out of battery, and when restarting it, it will not finish booting. It gets stucked in the black screen with the MIUI logo. I have tried to restart it, take of battery for some time. Charge it off and try to start it again. I can boot to recovery mode, but doesn´t matter what I do, when I restart, it will not boot.
Can you somebody please help me?
Thanks a lot for your support and this incredible web.
Best regards.
hello well first of i would hope you made a back and or a nanadroid ?? did you lol
when you go into recovery do you do a wipe system userdata
wipe cache wipe davelik ??
if not try that then if that dont work and you did not make a backup pull out your sd card download a rom of your choice from a pc to sd card and reinstall in your phone then boot into recovery and reflash your rom or a diffrent rom
ps if you have ? just pm me please hit thanks button if it helps any thanks
Thanks for your reply.
I did a backup when applying the last OTA and I have made a copy of all content of the SD card, just in case.
I have tried to install a full ROM, but when I do the reboot, it get the same: HTC Screen, then MIUI logo from silver to gold color and stays there forever.
I´ll do the the wipes and I´ll let you know.
Thanks
I have done the 3 wipe (data, cache, dalvik)
When doing the "Wipe Dalvik Cache" I get this message:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
(File exists)
Dalvik Cache wiped.
After do the reboot it works
Before I had tried to do only the Wipe Dalvik Cache, not the others
Thanks a lot, you saved my day and a lot of time

samsung infuse: com.android.phone has stopped

I am new to android and yesterday I accidentally clicked the red download button when I held the power button down. Then a black screen with yellow text came up and said "don't power off the target!!" I left the phone on for about 30 minutes, but the battery died. Now when I power up the device I get the message com.android.phone has stopped working. I also tried a factory reset but it didn't fix anything. The device is rooted, I checked using the root checker app (i bought the phone from someone). How can I fix this? Any help is appreciated, Thanks.
Try pulling the battery for 10 minutes or so. Do you know what ROM you are running? Only other thing I can think to try is trying to boot into CWM and wiping cache and dalvik. The usually fixes a lot of my issues.

After wiping Dalvik/cache, go into Advanced, and select Fix Permissions, just to cover all of the simple bases. If none of that works, you may have to Heimdall/Odin back to stock and start all over again.
I got into CWM, but there is no option for advanced. There are 4 options: reboot system now, apply update from SD card, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition. There are no other options. Maybe I have an older version of CWM, on the top it says Android system recovery <3e>
Is the wipe cache partition what i have to click to wipe cache. Thanks for the help.

Yes...wipe cache partition to wipe cache.
And it does appear like you have the old 3e Modded Recovery. I forget the version numbers but the CWM recoveries: commonly referred to as green, red and blue, will give you other options including Advanced as mentioned above

If you plan on doing any serious flashing, I'd think you'd want to upgrade to Red CWM. Here's a thread that tells you how.
I'd recommend Method 1:

[Q] Phone not receiving calls after installing ROM to get out of fastboot

I was following a guide to root and flash a ROM for my LG Optimus V. I got to the step where I wipe data/factory reset, cache, and dalvik-cache, but I decided to continue the guide later and powered off my phone and ended up in fastboot. I got out of fastboot by installing the zip files for BACKside ROM from the recovery menu, so now my phone works but a few things are off like I can't receive calls, getting server errors on google play, and getting an error that com.phone.android stopped working. I'm not sure what to do next to resolve those issues.
Edit: I realized that before installing BACKside, I didn't wipe caches or format anything since I had done them before my phone went into fastboot. Does this make a difference and means I need to re-install BACKside (by wiping caches, formatting, and then flashing)?

1)maybe the rom and ur baseband don't match
2) maybe bcoz u didn't wipe so ders problem
3) or the rom itself has prob
so do a full wipe including formatting system.

Try a smaller Gapps package than the one that you flashed with the ROM. The package you used is probably too large to fit in the system partition along with the ROM.
Or, you didn't factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache when you flashed the ROM. Failing to do those wipes will cause bugs due to the new system conflicting with the saved system data/settings from the previous system. In other words, data left over from the old ROM is causing problems with the new ROM.

Boot back into recovery, then factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache, then reboot.
If that doesn't work, try booting back into recovery then flash the ROM then the Gapps then factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache then reboot.
If that doesn't work, try booting back into recovery, then select the "Wipe" option, then choose the "advanced wipes" option, then choose the system partition, then swipe the slider at the bottom to run the wipe, then try flashing just the ROM but don't flash the Gapps, factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache then reboot. After you get the device booted, you can delete the Gapps file then download a smaller package and put it in your phone's internal storage then boot back into recovery and select the "Install" option, at this point, you already have the ROM installed so no need to flash it again, but you do need to flash the new Gapps file, then factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache.
Do you see how important it is to factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache every time you flash? It is a vital step.
