I Really need some help. Whenever I type an adress that involves kinky videos like empflix and redtube, the tap switches to a mobile site with a m. Infront... and no video. I have the same isue on my optimus 2X. But not on my HTC Desire! Here all pages load perfectly! I have tried opera, skyfire and dolphin and even tried to white aboutcant remember what) and choose web-layout. Ofcource I have also tried to switch from mobile to web-browsing in settings. I really need to override this isue... I purchaced the tab mainly for wathching (dirty) internet videos. Best regards.

Look, more dog **** advice from k0sh. What a shocker.
OP: Type this in your url bar:
about:debug
Then hit enter.
It will look like it did nothing. But now hit menu, settings. Scroll down to the bottom and tap "UAstring" and change it from Android to desktop.
Happy fapping, and with out installing some crappy 3rd party app.

Guys, need help with my new Nexus S. How to turn off mobile view in browser? I prefer to use desktop view. On my previous phone[Desire] there was an option to turn on/off mobile view, so far couldn't find it i Nexus. Thanks a lot.

Go into settings and change the UA to Desktop. This does not survive a reboot though.

edit: do you put that in the URL, hit go, then go to settings and there will be more at the bottom of the list.
BUT from the way it looks, it's not a quick change, like it was in my HTC phone is it? That's supremely annoying. Some websites I want PC view, others mobile is better.
Has someone made an app or something to make it flip back and forth much easier/faster?

Yes you put about:debug in the URL and then you should see some hidden settings under settings in the browser...

Does anyone else notice a lot of checkerboarding when scrolling down a web page? Why is this, the captivate never did it and was less powerful spec wise....
infuse 4g "a lot a screen real estate"
I'm noticing that, as well as the page jumping from zoomed in to out then in again when I'm scrolling (even slowly) along a page. Clearing data helps for a bit but this is frustrating. Running Infused/infusion combo clocked at 1.7ghz.

I have this too, perhaps RAM isn't being used efficiently in the stock browser?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
The stock browser's suckiness is well documented. Use Opera
Its because of the page loading. let it load all of the way and then try to scroll.
Hope this helps!!!

Yea but the captivate could scroll before the page loaded

The Samsung browser in 2.2.1+ does this.
The Captivate is still officially on 2.2.

Not in my case, fully loaded pages. This is the first time I've had an issue with the stock browser.
This is the worse browser ever, I miss the stock browser of my htc desire hd. Now I'm using dolphin hd, try any other browser in the market and u'll be happier!

Skyfire and opera (tho opera does this at times as well)
Mine rarely does it after the page has fully loaded.
I am using a hacked 2.2.1 browser I found in a thread and found it to almost eliminate this problem...
I just don't remember where I got the APK but I do have it. It also allows 8 windows opened. Want to give the hacked browser a shot?

Thank you jayson94538 for posting the link to the hacked browser. I hadn't had a chance to post it yet.
I love Opera, but there's one big issue that I have with it. I'm a big sports junkie and I go to ESPN.com dozens of times daily, and they recently re-designed their mobile site like 6 months ago or so. Anyways, I love the re-design and is much more useful and quicker to get the info I want/need. The problem with Opera is that it still goes to ESPN's OLD mobile site which I didn't really like. Its been over 6 months now since the re-design and other 3rd party browsers access the new one. But why can't Opera go to it? And why does it use the old one? Anyways, anything would be of great help!
Just a suggestion but the ESPN app is real good, it's what I use.

Thanks for the response. Are you talking about the ScoreCenter app?
Yeah I like it better than the website. Anyway have you tried any page specific settings? I know in dolphin HD browser there is a useful addon that lets you quickly switch between desktop and mobile modes. I've never used opera but maybe something similar can be found in settings somewhere.

Yeah I've thought of something similar, but what I don't understand is why Opera can't access ESPN's new mobile site. It only accesses the old mobile site before the re-design.

But that would take away the mobile site for ESPN, which I like. It's just that with Opera I get the old mobile site, whereas any other Browser app I get the new one with is much better.

Think you have to press download, then "try again" and download and it should work.

I noticed this yesterday as well.
I think the problem is that mediafire doesn't like the android user agent anymore.
If your browser supports it, change your user agent to desktop and refresh the page. You'll be able to download after that.
The browser I used was Boat Browser btw. You guys should check it out

There's a downloader app in the market place that's supposed to help alleviate this issue as well as downloading of large files or files that tend to fail. Sadly I don't remember what it's called.

You could use Apex Launcher (or any other custom launcher) other than that those apps will act that way because the android memory management will shut them down after being in the background for a while.
