Yeah that happens with me too, mostly after unlocking the device it goes back to scrollable wallpaper again.. let's see if someone comes with a better solution..

You could use Apex Launcher (or any other custom launcher) other than that those apps will act that way because the android memory management will shut them down after being in the background for a while.

You reminded me the cartoon that i saw few years back somewhere, about the closed nature of iOS and and the almost unlimited possibilities in android. The story goes like
Android user: i need this task to be carried out, is there any app for that, if not let me check the forums, if i cant find it there let me put a request, if nobody responds, heck i can develop it myself let me dig into the sdk..
iOS user: i need to carry out this task, is there any app for that?, no? Ok whats there on tv today?

Android wifi tether for SGH T959v

I've been searching and reading and I can't seem to find which Android wifi tether works best for our phone.
I went to google and it doesn't say galaxy S 4g so I'm not sure which apk download is safe to use on our phone. I know our phone is different from the vibrant.
Does anyone know which version works best on our phone?
What are you using and how do you rate it?
Thank you for your time and input.

I use easy teather But its not in the market anymore. It doesnt allow u to change Nat type setting. it is a real drag cause I got the phone for to use on my xbox360 so I could play online. But also there are various other apps in the market. just search and u will find and dont forget to check what others have to say about the app you intend on downloading. Some suck some dont.

it actually works fantastic. its kinda hidden though so dont be embarrased. Do you know how to find it?
Sorry to shove this question in here but since this seems like the right topic. Is there an app that will allow access to NAT(network address translation) settings? As usual samaung nor t-mobile could be of any help. I was told rooting would get me the access I need to deal with such a matter. Was this b.s. or is there a way?

How r u getting a moderate Nat when this device is set to a strict Nat type? I can sign in and play some people but as for party,s or game addons I can't access much. Please let me know how your experience is (on xbox live)and what u have done to beat the Nat setting.

Tw love.

Ok. So I may be the only person here that likes twlauncher. The one thing I don't like about it is that the apps do not get sorted alphabetical ... I figured out that if u clear the app data on it, when it resets all apps will be arranged alphabetically.
Just throwing this out there.
Edit. It will reset ur home screens so it is pretty much a 1 time deal. But it isn't that hard to place any new apps where they belong

(Q) Apk Icon locations

I am running stock 2.3.6 and it is rooted. I am wanting to change the icons for some of the stock apps. I have done this plenty of times before with a couple of my other phones and i know how to do this. I am not used to Motorola software and i am having a hell of a time locating where these icons are stored at. I'm wanting to change the Text Messaging app icon and the Email app icon. Usually they are in the system/app with the app itself. I have dug around in this location and can't seem to come up with anything. If someone could give me a location of these two icons i would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you very much. When i first started digging for the icons i didn't realize how much Motorola made their software different than the other manufacturers. I really appreciate it, thanks again.

I tried to change the browser icon and ended up with the apk in the system but missing from the home launcher and couldn't get it to show up at all so i had to flash back to 2.3.5 and start over. That's what i get for not installing bootstrap and making a backup. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of the oversized Google search bar so i can just have a normal one.

Using that app is for guys like me who have no intention of learning the guts of Android, but you seem like a guy who wants to learn that stuff so it makes sense you'd go about it the way you did. Glad it worked for you though, it's a pretty nifty app that can be used for more than just changing icons too, def a must have for any Android user IMO.
I like to actually do personal theming with roms by actually tearing a rom apart on my computer and changing things. I really don't like just getting things off of the market to do theming. It's a little too easy . Since we are limited with the a2 as far as roms go i haven't really got into it as much as i did with my infuse or my captivate. Once i start learning more about motorolas software ill get back into it. Thanks again for your help, that app is pretty good.

I have another question regarding the apk itself this time. I am a big swype person and I have a big collection of swype apks that are themed. I am wanting to get rid of any traces of Swype from being a system apk, that way i can install any of the swype apks that i store on my sd card without any hassle. Now, i have uninstalled the stock swype, i got rid of the com.swype file that is in the data/data folder. The phone still sees it as a system apk. Does anyone know where there might be a file or a text telling the phone that it is a system apk?
