I just got a replacement Sprint TP2 via insurance and while perusing the registry I discovered several entries indicating CIQ is on the device. If I can figure a quick way to post the reg entries, I will. I understand that flashing a custom ROM would likely do the trick, but I'm curious to know if/how I can remove it from the stock ROM.
There have been discussions about CIQ removal in the EVO 4G and Hero Android forums, but none related to WinMo. Any suggestions and questions are welcomed.

First off, I apologize if this turns out to be a redundant thread that's answered elsewhere on XDA (I've noticed several like that) but I've cooked a Kaiser (formerly a branded TILT) ROM but I'm not quite satisfied w/ my choices of packages so I was wondered what it took to use Atom packages or Hermes packages (or any other device packages for that matter) on my TILT.
I would go ahead and simply throw them into a TILT-based ROM but I was worried about potential conflicts that may arise. If there is a sticky or another thread hiding in XDA that answers this, someone just point me in the right direction. I've looked around on here and I may have just missed it. I see things like "Diamond-based" ROMs like Dutty's but I dont know if he had to do extra steps to use them on the Kaiser.
Anyways, any help would be appreciated since I've seen some nice CABs on other devices that I'd like to use on my ROMs.
Thanks again in advance.
I have learned and gained so much from all the members of the Xda community. So thank you. One thing I haven't learned much about is flashing roms. I have searched the forms many times but just cannot find what I am looking for, for my cricket phone. So if you know anything about cricket roms, you are the person I am looking for.
My question is, where do I start? I have a HTC vogue cell and I am on the cricket network. I am looking for a rom that is fast, clean(no extra crap), and is built to work with(or has included) M2D(My current phone version does not work with it(Adding programs/contacts, in their respective tabs...?)), and finally works with the cricket network(aka working mms, gps, calling, internet, ect.)
Also I do not know much about installing roms. So instructions geared for a monkey would help much. Aka, I don't know anything about the process: flashing, radio versions, or what I should do first, second, last.
Thank you for putting up with my incompetence. No, seriously, thank you.
To be honest, the best thing you can do is go to the vogue section and check the new ROM threads. most rom cooks write all details about the roms there.. and all sections have threads explaining how to flash roms.
if you still have questions after you've learned a bit from reading, we'll try and answer everything you throw in our way

Thank you Nir36. But alas the rom that you suggested(with the link), no where mentions on it's page, the Cricket network..?
Lets take these other popular roms, both of which I am very interested in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413376 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432487
Neither of them mention the cricket network or have very clear instructions on how to install. Any suggestions, ideas? Thank you.
the cook doesn't need to clearly state every network his rom would work with.
if a rom fits a device, it would (most probably) read any network. unless i'm missing something here and this cricket network is different than all others.
So if the Cook mentions every network, but cricket, your saying it will still be completely compatible?
The Vogue Flashing FAQ for WM6.5 is very, VERY helpful, and can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508544
I'm looking in to getting a vogue when my tax return comes in, and getting it on Cricket myself.
Hope this helps, and I'll let you know how mine goes when I get it.
I recently purchased an AT&T Fuze (off the internet, not from AT&T) and noticed the phone came with the following ROM:
Rom 1.90.707.1 WWE
Rom Date 08/01/08
Radio 1.02.25.19
Protocol Ver. 52.33.25.170
The ROM seems dated to me, is there an upgrade that people can recommend I install (I'm fairly new so not familiar to what ROMs are available)? Any recommended for "tweaks" are appriciated.
Also interesting is that when I turn on the phone, under the Touch logo, it says "For testing, not for resale". And while the phone is branded ATT, I see no ATT references when the phone is in use. Should I be concerned with this?
Thanks

Can we change background picture in touch pro (not only for home)?
Can we have different backgrounds for each ?
How to do that Please
bit off topic, huh?
I assume you mean the background image in touch FLO, as touch pro is a piece of hardware with many different software programs that can run on it, many of which have background images.
I don't use touch flo, but would offer the advice of not asking a new question in someone elses thread unless it is related.
Post a new topic, or better yet, search for the answer first, I'm sure a question like that has been answered many times before.
--EDIT--
Sorry, didn't see your post count, now I'm thinking that was some sorta joke that went over my head...

No, I suspect this joker is one of those post whores.
Digging up old dead threads, offering or asking unrelated crap and offering absolutely nothing to the community...

I just purchased an unlocked used HTC 8925 (AT&T tilt... i dunno if they are the same thing) (*also it comes with windows mobile 6.1) on ebay and i was wondering if there are any programs or software that I is recommended to download. I've seen HTC home somewhere but i was wondering what version i should use with WM6.1. I'm a "noob" when it comes to Windows mobile but i wanted to try it for a new experience before i was constantly an Iphone user.
Also how do you back up the current Firmware or ROM of the phone just in case i make in mistake of modding it.
(links or guides will be extremely helpful please and thank you).
Here's some helpful links from an at&t tilt owner.
I hope these links help you get started!
I'm sure you saw the kaiser section of the forums, but here's a link anyway:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=376
(FYI, The kaiser and tilt are basically the same phone with the exception of the front camera)
The first few posts in this thread are full of helpful links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369282
Finally here's the kaiser wiki page, there's a section specific to the tilt which you may want to look at:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
Read as much as you can & enjoy your new phone!
Unlocked AT&T use
Thank you!
Also Will upgrading the Unlocked ROM lock it again? and IF so how do you unlock it once more?
No, once you install hardspl you can flash as much as you want. I never had to sim unlock since I use at&t, however as far as I know the phone can't be relocked just by flashing a new rom.
Obviously, I have an ATT-Captivate. I have removed all of the ATT crapware - except for:
ATT FamilyMap
ATT HotSpot Locator
ATT Music
I have looked through system/apps and didn't see any likely candidates to remove.
Has anyone else removed them - and, if so, what are the apk's named and where are they located. I have looked in all the likely places.
Thanks!
PS - I HOPE no one posts below that this is for a Galaxy S device!
Please take this to the captivate forums!
Sorry Mods! - didn't notice there were different forums for the different versions of the Galaxy S.
Please move the the Captivate forum. Thanks.
Dang! Darkstriker! Your fast! I just posted one of these and hadn't even realized they HAD a CAPTIVATE/VIBRANT forum yet!!!
Thread moved.
After you have your phone rooted, install Titanium Backup from the Market. You can use it to uninstall locked apps, such as AT&T's bloatware. Be sure to back the programs up first, though.
