stuck on white htc screen.help please! - EVO Shift 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I asked this in the CM thread but thought it would be more appropriate to ask here. I tried to update CM to 7.1 today, and realized that it was getting to the lockscreen, but continously rebooting the phone. I thought I should go back to othe previous 7.0.3 that I backed up on CWM. I shut off the phone, pressed vol down and powered on to get to hboot, went to recovery, restore, restore backup. Now it was stuck on the white HTC screen, so I tried to wipe all data/factory reset, dalvik, cache everything. Tried to restore again and still having to be stuck on the white screen. what do i do? i'm freaking out here. thanks for your helps in advance.

It is best to wipe cache wipe dalvik cache then try to flash again

[Q] Soft Brick on Flashing CM9 Nightly

Okay, so when I attempt to flash the CM9 nightly (7.2.12 edition) and the Google Apps ICS from CyanogenMod's wiki page I get a soft brick in reboot loop. What happens is three things (it's happened differently each time): First, I get the white SAMSUNG logo. After that, I get an extra-long black screen before a bootscreen. The first time it was an ANDROID logo with moving reflections. The second time it was the CM9 bootscreen. The third time it was simply a white screen. All three times, shortly after the bootscreen began, the phone froze at one frame early into the animation and rebooted. The same thing continually happened. To flash the ROM, I have the newest CWM Recovery for the T-Mobile Galaxy S II installed. From there, I did this (in this order): wipe data/factory reset, Wipe Dalvik Cache, and then Wipe Battery Stats. From there, I flashed the ROM from the internal SD card and then Google Apps for ICS from the internal SD card. After going to reboot from CWM Recovery, I always got that soft brick (three times now). After each soft brick, I have used CWM Recovery to recover a previous instance on the stock ROM.
Any help will be rewarded with imaginary thanks.

[Q] Stuck on boot animation..Please Help!!

I have this in development but though it shoudl be here.
Please help
I had issues loading AOKP| Build 4
These issues were caused I think by me. Before reloading I wiped Cache and Dalvic Cache, I then did a Format/Factory reset. While on this it stayed on formatting cache for about 20 mins. Since it locked up on formatting cache I held the power and vol down to get back in to CWM. I tried to install zip from ext sd Build-4. When it started it gave me a 4-5 lines saying E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log and others relating to that. I proceeded anyway with loading build-4, sometime through the installation it rebooted itself. After that the unicorn would come up for a few secs then reboot, then keep doing it in a boot loop. I again went in to CWM and tried again with the cache, dalvic and factory reset, same thing happened where it got stuck at cache but it restarted by itself this time. I then downloaded the stock rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1722745. After loading stock from Odin I was able to get ride of the cache errors and cache lock up problems.
The issue now is reguardless of Build-4 or stock it is stuck at either the unicorn or the samsung logo. I have also tried CM10, so stuck at boot now on stock, CM10 and AOKP-Build-4 Any help would be GREAT. Thanks
Do a factory reset in the stock recovery.
You are my hero!!! Several days of doing all kinds of things and that was the one I would have never thought about. Yup and going. No problems now.

[Q] stuck in fastboot Help

i have rooted my phone with gingerbreak and wanted to install gingersnap rom. i followed this methood http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197991 and my phone is stuck in fastboot now.... i am able to press home+voldown+power button to go into clockwork recovery i think thats what its called and pretty much nothing else please help im new to this stuff
Go into the recovery, then use the volume keys to navigate around and either the search button or the menu button will select things depending on the version you're using. Once you're there, wipe cache and dalvik cache, then reboot it. The boot will take a long time, if after five minutes it's still trying to boot, then go back into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache, then install a rom like gingersnap. If after another five minutes that isn't working, boot into recovery again do a factory reset (this will wipe all of your apps, contacts, calendar entries etc), wipe system, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache (do not wipe sd card or external storage) then install a rom like gingersnap and see if it boots up.
thanks for trying to help but none of that helped i dont really know how to install/flash a rom but i looked around a bit and found that i made a backup before i tryed to flash it so thanks
Watch the videos about installation of custom rom for Android (LG P500) !!
Me too learned from that videos!
Now using OXYGEN ROM!

You can't just restore the data that's the same thing as not factory resetting because all you're really doing is wrong the data and then putting it right back on.
You need to use something like titanium backup

Just getting the logo and a black screen after an update

Samsung Galaxy S2 i727 Skyrocket.
I recently updated to a 4.3 rom.
It booted up and I just got a message "Unfortuanately, Nfc Service has stopped. Blame Tyler."
I couldn't get the message to go away and the only thing I could do was a hard reboot.
Still same issue.
Rebooted into Recovery mode.
Factory Reset, wipe cache partition, format /system, wipe dalvich cache
Restored an older rom.
It booted up with no issues. But when I rebooted, I just get the Samsung logo and then the screen goes black.
I even tried Factory Reset, wipe cache partition, format /system, wipe dalvich cache and installed a new rom from scratch.
Same problem.
I have no idea what to try next or why this is happening.
Any help or comments are welcome.
Thanks
