advance data restore - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Everytime i try to rrstore data after flashing a new rom or after a new nightly i always get hung up on the boot logo. I just went from baked to the new synergy 125 wiped data factory reset wiped cache and dalvik flashed rom rpm and modem and rebooted. All was fine as far as installing the rom. Went back to recovery wiped cache and dalvik again advance rrstore data and get hung. What am i doing wrong? Really annoying to have to redo everything everytime....and im a crack flasher

You can't just restore the data that's the same thing as not factory resetting because all you're really doing is wrong the data and then putting it right back on.
You need to use something like titanium backup

[Q] Boot loop?

Well i have been using the cm7 nightlies with no problem. Today i decided to flash the RC1 since im sick of having to flash everyday. So i flashed the rom with rom manager and my phone was stuck in a boot loop.
So i had to do a battery pull and then restore the rom i had just backed up. After restoring i reboot the phone and am stuck in a boot loop again. I did another battery pull did a full data wipe, wiped cache and dalvik cache. And reinstalled the nightly 41 and am no longer in a boot loop.
So i tried to install RC1 again and everything was fine after flashing rom and gapps. i thought everything was fine so i rebooted into recovery to flash the 1.2.2 BFS Netarchy kernel. Before flashing i wiped cache, and dalvik cache. And of course now im stuck into a boot loop again. Has anyone else experienced this problem? i believe i am doing everything right. This is the first time i have ever experienced this problem.

try flashing the kernel without wiping the dalvik or cache.
personal, i dont use or recommend using rom manager, as it creates issues of its own. i download everything myself and flash in recovery without rom managers aid.
I'm trying that now. Thanks for the quick reply. I have even tried installing the rom without using rom manager and it still did the same thing to me. Hopefully this works.

CM10 Infinite Boot Animation

Hey guys I am running into a problem after I flash CM10 to my GSIII, It flashes fine (rooted, unlocked bootloader, using CWM) up until I try to boot at which it gets stuck on the boot animation where it just runs for what i assume to be forever, I gave up after 10 min the 3 times I tried. Is anyone else having this problem or have any idea how to fix it.
Thanks in advance
I would try two things, first be sure you cleared everything (dalvik cache, factory reset, clear cache) in CWM, and if you're still having problems try the "fix permissions" option in CWM.
happened to me earlier, I wiped cache, dalvik, factory reset, and flashed again, and it worked
LKJ
Derp, it was the factory reset, i had always been clearing the catches so i dont know why it didnt occur to me to do the reset, but thanks a bunch guys

[Q] [P6210]Boot Looping and Corrupt Data Partition

Been running CM10 and CWM 6.0.1.9 for ages with no issues and loving it. Yesterday morning (while on vacation) picked up the tab from charging and it was boot looping. Tried formatting cache and Dalvik cache as 1st attempt to fix and it reboots when trying to format Dalvik cache, regular Cache deletes just fine. Next reflashed CM10, but still boot loops. Started manually formatting partitions and when I get to Data it reboots.
So this sounds like Brick Bug, but shouldn't be since I'm on CM10/CWM6.0.1.9 and wasn't wiping when it occurred.
So questions for the braintrust...
1) Is there anything I can do to fix this while on vacation when the only PC I can access is Windows RT? Basically it needs to be something I can flash with CMW.
2) Assuming #1 isn't possible, my next step was to try flashing a stock rom when I get back home. Make sense or other thoughts?
Thanks,
Todd
try removing your ext sd card and boot it up. See if that helps. If not, I'd Odin the stock ROM
I have experienced this too. My fix was to delete data after reflashing CM10. I tried just clearing cache and dalvik like you did but it continued to boot loop. So I flashed CM10 because I was at school and it was all I have but it was still stuck and so I cleared data at CWM(Didn't flash CM10 again anymore). And yeah, it pretty much deleted everything, but I had a backup at home. It was fixed.

Thanks. Formatting data causes a reboot, so I think I'm stuck until I get back home and can use Odin.

[SOLVED] [Q] [P6210]Boot Looping and Corrupt Data Partition
For the sake of the archives...reflashing stock Honeycome fixed the partition problem and allowed me to re-install CM10.

Just getting the logo and a black screen after an update

Samsung Galaxy S2 i727 Skyrocket.
I recently updated to a 4.3 rom.
It booted up and I just got a message "Unfortuanately, Nfc Service has stopped. Blame Tyler."
I couldn't get the message to go away and the only thing I could do was a hard reboot.
Still same issue.
Rebooted into Recovery mode.
Factory Reset, wipe cache partition, format /system, wipe dalvich cache
Restored an older rom.
It booted up with no issues. But when I rebooted, I just get the Samsung logo and then the screen goes black.
I even tried Factory Reset, wipe cache partition, format /system, wipe dalvich cache and installed a new rom from scratch.
Same problem.
I have no idea what to try next or why this is happening.
Any help or comments are welcome.
Thanks

What version of cwm? Most likely you need to update it. And what 4.3 rom?
Thanks.
I had a an older version of CWM and just upgraded to 6043..
Its now working with reboots...
I didn't realize CWM had that type of effect..

Keep doing bootloop

My Nexus 5 wasn't getting signal so I kept restarting it then shut it down then back on and is now stuck in bootloader. I've tried wipe cache/dalvik cache and still bootlegging. I put my sim in another phone and wasn't getting signal so my service might be down. So how do I get out of bootloop without having to factory reset?

i dont really understand how your device is suddenly in a bootloop but one of the only ways to correct this is with a factory reset.
have you tried dirty flashing your rom, gapps, kernel, etc, wiping both caches again and rebooting?
Yup did the whole cache wipe and flash rom and kernel. Looks like I might have to do a full complete wipe
