GPS dongle for malata zpad t8? - G Tablet General

Would be possible plug in gps Dongle or SD CARD based GPS module into ZPAD T8?
Thanks!

I am using a stand alone Bluetooth GPS receiver and BlueGps on my GTab, I have also use my Phone's Gps tethering to my GTab. The problem with using your phone is when you receive a call and are using a Bluetooth headset, they do not play nice with each other. both worked fine on stock and CM7.

Could you post the bluegps settings that you use. The type/model of the gps you are using
I have a Holux m1200 bluetooth gps and have been pulling my hair out trying to get it to work.

Using Topaz as a Bluetooth GPS Unit

Is it possible to use the integrated GPS in the Topaz as an external bluetooth GPS device for a laptop or an iPod Touch 2G?
Thanks in advance!
GPS2Blue
Yeah and it works great. Just install this

Thanks for that.
Unfortunately the iPod Touch cannot utilise a BT GPS unit! Hopefully some kind developer over that way will put something together

[Q] External GPS head on an Desire

Hi all
Of course, I know that Htc Desire has got it's own Gps head but i've read several times that it will suck the battery damn quickly...
I was wondering, instead of this inernal GPS head, would it be more interesting, in term of battery life, to use a Bluetooth (BT ) connection to an external head...
I've tried it...No problem to have the external head ( Holux GPSslim236 ) beeing recognaized and paired...but it fails to connect...and I have no idea what it missing
In a previous life, when I was using my Windows Mobile PDA, in order to connect such a head, I had to provide a specific Com8 port, along with a SPP service to the BT...
so, two quickies..
1) Has that been already tested ?
2) Successfull i.e connected ?
Thks for having read all that
Haven't tried it yet, but I believe the WhereYouGo application has support for external Bluetooth devices. Might want to give it a try
There are a few app for this:
- Bluetooth GPS
- Bluetooth GPS Provider
- Bluetooth GPS Mouse
- Bluetooth GPS For Android
....
Some have been tested on this blog: AndroGeoid.

[Q] Bluetooth Tether - data

I searched around a bit on the forums and saw a few threads semi-related to this, but no answers. Thought this might need a dedicated thread.
I've been using my G-tab connected to a Bluetooth GPS (Both an external GPS mouse, and through my DroidX using ShareGPS) and it works great for navigation.
I can use WiFi tether to the Droid for Data, but as you probably know WiFi and Bluetooth don't play well together. If I get a call while tethering, my bluetooth headset is very scratchy due to the WiFi Interference.
I would like to tether the G-Tab and DroidX via bluetooth for DUN/Data, but can't quite figure out how.
Anyone done this?
Thanks,
-Z

[Q][GLITCH]BT stops working after using wireless tether

every time i use wireless tether after i have switched it off none of my bluetooth devices will connect to the phone until I reboot.....anyone else experience this?
Have not tried that yet - But I di have a Bluetooth - WiFi issue. If i try to uese Bluetooth on a WiFi call, it usually does not work right.
I had similar problems CM7 on a different device, but not with stock. Am on stock now and not happy
Bluetooth working excellent!
WiFi calling working excellent!
I will try to use wireless tethering....
5 min, please
Yes I have experienced BT connection issues. Even after a reboot. It sometimes will take 2-3 mins for my headset to connect.
No issues here

No issues here either. I was actually just saying to myself this phone has one of the best Bluetooth implementations I've ever seen so far. I've used with BlueAnt S4 car speakerphone and my car's A2DP audio bridge simultaneously as well with other devices by themselves such as a Bose BT1 headset, a Motorola DC800 A2DP audio bridge, and various Broadcom based adapters in computers... no issues at all (which really surprises me). I've used WiFi tethering extensively and leave Bluetooth enabled and never have any issues when I go to connect.

Wifi kind of sucks, but BT is great!

Wifi connectivity seems to not recover well when waking the device. In fact, i have to keep it from going to sleep when it's mounted on my dash in the car so i don't lose the wifi link from either my RAZR or MiFi while driving. i have WiFi sleep policy set to never and it still does it.
In regards to Bluetooth it's much better than my original Galaxy Tab, where when i tried to do music via BT to the car's stereo (BT FIPO adapter to 30-pin ipod dock adapter on car's cd changer input), plus connection to an OBDII Bluetooth adapter (Torque app) - it would have frequent stutters.
With this 7 Plus, i can be SIMULTANEOUSLY connected to both BT devices and switch between Spotify, Mortplayer, Navigation, Torque w/ no stuttering or lag. Also nice that now my car's steering wheel controls actually work better going through the BT on the FIPO to the ipod adapter (only track next/last toggle).
I wish Navigon and CoPilot didn't crash/lag so much, though.
Also the Stowaway folding bluetooth keyboard i used to use with my old UMPCs works well with this tablet.
My wifi would disconnect constantly when I was in a different room than the router. I used a wifi analyzer to view the channels and had the router use a channel that wasn't as busy. Works a lot better now. But I had no issues before hand with any other device.
I've turned off the power save due to the Linux kernel bug and dealing with the sleep of death bug. Helps wifi too you might want to try it out.
