Hi , I am having a very weird problem with HTC sensation. when a phone call comes in standby mode and i receive the call , many times the call doesn't connect. and i can see the phone like hanging for a few seconds. then i have to lock the display and unlock it. then i can see i have a missed call. is anyone other than me facing this problem ??? and if anyone knows any solution please help. I have pattern display lock enabled. is that the problem ???
You have to drag the answer button into the circle. I only kind understand your problem. You never said anything about you attempting to answer the call so maybe that's it?
I am having the same problem. It happen when the phone in standby mode and if a call comes into it. I try to receive the call by dragging the answer button, after that though it open the lock screen, but can't connect the call. It shows "incoming call". After a while it automatically disconnected by itself and shows missed call. It happen most of the time.
Hi guys
I found a little problem in my phone, a minor dot of light blink(left side of the screen) every time when i touch the screen, when i use live wallpaper it clearly blink but when i use static wallpaper this light shows in black surface like apps pages and setting page clearly or when i use black wallpaper it shows also. when i use camera then this light also blink continuously. sometimes it is so annoying for me. i couldn't figure out exactly what is that, either it is a dead pixel or software problem. any idea please share with me?

hi, I bought it from bosundhora city. No i couldn't find any solution about call drop. U know it's a amazing mobile with some amazing problem. Beside the problem of call droping. What can I possibly do with dual core, if it has no battery life in the middle of the day. Do u have the problem with battery life. Another thing u can try to take the call quickly, I mean when u answer the phone try to drag the circle quickly. Sometime it works.
Deshi Bhai,
I also get the phone from Bashundhara City Mall. Mine one is unlocked/sim free. Yeah I noticed if I receive the phone very short lime then it works. It;s mostly happening whenever I receive phone lately.

Hi every one,
I think I found the problem. First tell me which operator r u using, I guess it's grameen phone. I think u will not be facing the problem in other operator. At least "airtel" and "Teletalk". Because i have tasted these two. Let me know whether it works for u.

Yeah I am using GrameenPhone. This problem is very annoying. Even today I missed one call. But if I want to test, then every calls get connected !!! Today after missing one call then I called 5 times to my phone from other number, all calls were connected. It seems that you cannot make someone to understand about this problem. But I fortunately I got someone like you who are facing the same.
I have noticed this only after the upgrade..
A call comes in on standby.. i drag the answer button to the ring.. and the phone unlocks but for a second i can see the answer-decline buttons, though it connects OK.. did not miss the call yet

Hey what's the update ? How's Robi and Banglaling running onto that ? Are you sending your phone to Singapore ?
I havent used other sims but now my problem is solved to some extent. when a call comes now i at first drag the circle on the contact pic then keep it there for few seconds then release it. and i guess it is working. let me know if it works with u or not ? just keep the metal on the contact pic for like 2 second then release ur hand to accept the call.
Nope the problem is still not fixed, tried different roms and radios. still missing calls any solution anyone ?
Same problem since 2 months on two different Sensations. One was sent to warranty service, they changed the motherboard and the first call.. missed.
Tried everything already: stock and custom roms, ICS too, different radios, sims, 2g/3g options. No solution for now

hey,
I bought the nexus s (9023) about two months ago, stock rom, not rooted, and for the last week or two, it started making problems.
about 1-5 times a day, i can't here the other side at all. as if it's on mute. not even the ringing tone, before I'm answered. the only thing that solves it, is to restart the phone.
in other forums i've read that it's a mess, and that i should use my warranty. the problem is i bought the phone abroad, and shipping it should take about 3 weeks.
is it a common issue?
can i solve it alone, mabye by switching to a non-stock rom?
i'll be very happy to read some good news here, but bad news is better than non.
thanks a lot,
tal
p.s, iv'e downloaded system info to monitor the temp, and it doesn't happen necessarily when the phone is hot.
I don't know... I am rooted, I have used 5 different roms since purchasing my phone.
Stock
CM 7
Savaged Zen
Oxygen
Soju
I have also used several kernels
CM Stock
Netarchy
Matrix
James Bond
Trinity
So far, on all roms and kernels I have experienced the same problem. You make a call and it connects, looking at the screen the time counter is going but there is no sound; it will sit there and hold the call for 30-55 seconds then ends call. A quick redial and bam it works. Some people have reported that they answered and there was nothing. I don't know, it's really obnoxious.
The other, more annoying problem is that randomly on calls throughout the day the phone will just reboot itself. Right in the middle of a call. AHHHH like 3-5 times daily!
help, anyone?
i'm stuck with this, and a bit clueless.
Well, somehow I discovered that the problem is related to the bluetooth. as long as it's turned of, nothing will happen, on the other hand, when I use my earphone (most of my conversations happen while driving) i need to restart my phone every 1-2 calls
any ideas?
just u can't hear other one while calling u?
thanks.
so it was in the beginning, but now neither of us can hear the other. no matter who made the call.
and again, only when BT is working.

Hi, did anybody have any solution to this problem?
I live this problem on almost half calls of specific numbers.
I am desparate...
Try setting discoverable timeout to never? Have you tried a different Bluetooth device?

I have this problem too. This seem to happen on some Kangs and nightly, but not all of them. I can't hear when someone calls me. But when I call someone, I can hear them. I always have Bluetooth off (do not use them).
I live the same problem. No problem for outgoing calls. For incoming calls, I cannot hear caller's voice but they can hear me. It is not for all numbers.
I am on t-mobile and nexus s (cynagenmod nightlies). For all incoming calls from tmobile numbers no problem. But for almost all other carriers, it is just random.
I feel like I started having this problem after updating from CM 7.0.2 to 7.1 RC and thereafter(but not very sure on this).
If anybody still following this topic, I would suggest you to contact samsung if you still have warranty. On the second attempt they sent me a brand new phone with box and accessories.

Or, you might give it a try with a different radio for your model:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116884
If you go this road, make sure you backup your EFS folder.
What i would do is if it is still in warranty just give it back to them and they'll probably give you a new phone. Since you said it takes 3 weeks to ship, just wait for it and use another phone if possible. Its not like your life is going to end. I think the problem is, not every phone is the same so there will be problems especielly when flashing a rom. For example unstable roms might not allow you to use this app or have serious effects on your phone.
Best to give it back to samsung and get a replacement.
Hello XDA-Developers Forum
Since a week or two i got this annoying problem. When i call someone (or answer an incoming call), I can hear the other side clearly but they can't hear me. When i call my mum's phone to test it, and when i put the 'speaker' of hers on, and i shout at my own telephone, i can just hear a little whisper on my mum's phone speaker. Flashing an other ROM didn't seem to work. Also in Voodo Control, setting all settings to default didnt work..
Maybe someone else has experienced this too, and can help me with this?
I know flashing a stock ROM would maybe fix the problem but i dont know how that works.. There are like 10 stock ROMs to choose from; What one to pick?
EDIT: I've flashed to a stock ROM. Nothing changed. Problem not solved :l
83 views but no replies.. Come on guys, help please..
Sounds like a possible hardware issue. I would contact your carrier for warranty
Bad luck!
Flashing stock ROM next week and will contact the customer service..

If your fone is more than a year old.
If you don't have any warranty left, you can try this.
Open your fone, find the contacts that connect the microphone module to the motherboard. Clean it with alcohol, make sure they are in contact. Turn the contacts the other way slightly (eg, if they are at 30deg, make them 32deg.) assemble everything again. Or just give it to a professional.
I had same issue with my antenna. i used to get ZERO reception. i opened the fone, cleaned the contacs with alcohol, i got about 50% reception. i saw the surface was eroded so i colored that area with graphite pencil (don't ask why) and finally i got 100%. I know some may say its a ridiculous method. but it worked for me.
Try increasing the volume on your mums phone and test on someone elses phone as well to see if it's a problem with yours or your mums phone.
title
yes, try every possible combination, use different sim on your fone, call other fone for testing, put somebody elses sim in your fone, try talking thru headset etc. try everything. although i have a feeling he has already tried all that. but just to make sure before you take your next step.

Hi there!
I just figured out that in "WCDMA Preffered" mode, in call time signal strength reach 16-17 asu makeing screen go crazy, than I simply set "WCDMA Only" and signal strength has stabilized with 12-13 asu or less in call time. The issue dissapear..
You can set it up eighter entering "Test menu" (*#*#3424#*#*) or in "Settings - Mobile Data - Network Mode - (WCDMA Only)
NOTE: The setting persist after reset so you don't need to reapply it every time.
Later edit: My test was made in a high signal area from my carrier. Now I'm testing in a lower signal strenght area (neutral zone) and my asu is 6-7 and this is great.
Enjoy your HTC One S
Soo far the issue gone. Keep this up (vote and say thx)
Hi again, after 3 days testing my theory the issue seems to completely gone. I reactivate long press home button eveything is normal.
Ohh.. just a little thing forgot to mention that doing this you lost 2 lines of signal. No more helicopter but -2 lines cover and probably this ain't so helpfull those with allready low cover in some areas. BUT this seems to be the only way to get rid of this issue.
My final decision!
Edit: Please pin my topic!

This issue manifest most often durring calls when gsm signal interact with capacitive sensor. So you can test it very simple by makeing a call even to your free carrier number, put on speaker and tri to browse the web durring call or just play with the menu.. open / close apps..
Up topic
Its 9 days for me since the issue gives no signs comming back.
UP topic , Please pin my topic!

Indeed... I sayd before..on 31 jan but at last is an improvement when no one comes with any solutions, I did..

Before knowing about this issue i though my phone have some problems and i need to go to a service or something.. after i heard about the issue.. i was thinking.. mabe HTC will develop some update, but now that i realize that HTC will never do such a thing i was looking for something to stop the issue without doing any sofware changes.
Please keep me up to date about your ROM and if the issue is not comming back, i'll think about a software change..

Helicopter still happens with the update but not as much.
Hi every one!
I did managed to Unlock / Root / S-OFF my HTC One S, i had some issues with the CWM untill i got a good recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-villec2.img but i still not receive any update from HTC..
Finally the issue is continue to manifest so.. the only thing we can do at this moment is switching to "WCDMA Only" as i sayd before.
This is a hardware issue that i read about .. there are 2 HTC One S models (probably motherboard series) and one of them has this issue.. so do what i did and stop searching for answers, this is the only way without risking of bricking your device or void your warranty searching for a better solution.
Enjoy it as it is or.. buy a new one if you can't live with it the setting !
Could a software update not solve the problem? I thought htc knew about the issue.
If you look at this link it seems htc know about the issue

When in a call, sometimes the other end cannot listen to me, but I am able to listen to them.
Terminating the call and re-calling "fixes" this.
Is there something I can do?
Is that a known bug or sth?

Similar problem over here
I have similar problem.
When I call someone or if someone calls me after random period of time that other side can't hear me, and I can hear then normally and sometimes voice sounds like digitalized signal and then I know they can't hear me. Only solution so far is that I blow in cell phone (where the mic would be) and after that they can hear me normally again until problem reapears after another random period of time.
Since it is under warranty I took it to the service and what they did is factory reset and that's it. I have to mention that I sent it 5 times so far to service and every single time they couldn't find the problem. 5th time I gave my cell phone to Telenor salesman to use it (because I bought it in Telenor shop) and even she experienced problem after 3-4 min of talking.
After few days they replaced entire motherboard of my cell phone hopping that this will solve the problem because they still couldn't find the exact problem and all worked well. Until two days ago when it all came back.
I don't have any other apps than Viber, all other apps are stock.
I have never messed with ROMs or any other part of cell phone hardware nor software. All is stock since phone is 6 months old.
It's hard to believe that SIM would be a problem since I got brand new SIM when I bought the phone.
My only suspect so far is my SD card. It's very old.
So for the guy in previous post... Try and take it to the service shop and see what they tell you.
As for me I'm asking all vise developers and members of this forum to help me fix my problem. Any advice would be helpful.
Hi guys
I just got new u11 from sprint. I was very excited about this phone until I started to notice that the phone goes on mute while I'm on a call. The mute icon is not pressed. I usually click it to activate then deactivate it and it brings it back. Sometimes I hit that and speakerphone until the caller can hear me again. It's pretty frustrating. I searched online and it appears to affect many phones with 7.1.1, so I'm not sure if replacing the phone will cure this issue. I'm still within my exchange period but wanted to check with the community if there's a solution to this annoyance. It looks like it's affecting many phones and the users are pretty pissed off about it. Is there a fix from either sprint / HTC or Google ? Any advice is appreciated!

I suggest a factory reset first...since you just got the phone, you shouldn't have much to lose (and as a XDA user, you really have no reason not to be backed up somewhere....).
My second suggestion is to bring it to Sprint and let them fix/repair it, especially since you are within the return period.

Hi I did the factory reset without restoring any apps settings and the problem remains where during the call it goes on mute in and out. I called sprint and requested a new phone since this is either a hardware problem or bad sprint rom flash from factory. I went with a new phone route since I didn't want to waste the 14 day return/replacement period. Hopefully the new unit will work as expected out of the box. It's funny that a lot of people seem to have this issue on different brands.

I went with a new phone route since I didn't want to waste the 14 day return/replacement period. Hopefully the new unit will work as expected out of the box. It's funny that a lot of people seem to have this issue on different brands.

Nothing to do with HTC and/or Sprint specifically. It seams to be a new feature if Android and is bound to the OS version 7.1.1 and upwards. OEMs can't do anything about it. Got it as well on my unit, bit when I activate knock on feature when in call it still does work as on previous versions, thus I don't care about the automatic DND during call in any way.

You can activate a knock feature for a second incoming call when talking on the line already. Sorry the knock on should try to describe this one.

im still not sure what you mean by knoc on feature. I will search the forum but this has nothing to do with another incoming phone call. i'm having in and out sound issues with the first call that's coming in.

You guys are talking about 2 different things.
One is micrpohone mute in call (seems like a bug) and the other one is DND mode while in call (seems like a feature).
I don't experience the behaviour you experience with calls on European model.

yes it's DND while on call, but it's not pressed/activated. i'm getting new phone anyways and will see if the issue persists. it's very annoying and not a good first experience with U11. i'm not sure if this is a software or hardware bug but this shouldn't be happening with a new device out of the box.

So what is it then?
1. DND while on call? It's nornal, you got your answer and new phone will act the same. It's not a bug.
2. Microphone goes on mute automatically and caller can not hear you? That's what you said in first post. It might be a bug.

I receive a call and after some time ( varies from few seconds to a min) the caller can't hear me. I put them on speakerphone they can hear me. Switch speakerphone off they can hear me again via normal call. It's ****ing frustrating. It's happening with a new replacement phone from sprint. I'm thinking about giving up on this u11 and getting galaxy. Its unlikely that it's a hardware issue on two new phones twice in a row
I have this same issue I also have several people tell me that they've called me several times yeah I have no missed calls I also have a strange text messages from the number 9479 and their blank

Hi Yaboc,
John here in Ireland and I'm having the same issue with my European HTC U11 and I feel your pain. I've been doing some Googling on the issue and have seen that (on previous HTC models anyway) it may be if you have Bluetooth on, the phone tries to connect to devices to pass the audio through and this is what causes the muting of the call. Do you have bluetooth switched on when the problem occurs? I have Bluetooth permenantly on for connecting to my Moto 360 watch so will try when I get home from work today to see if the problem still occurs if I switch Bluetooth off.
I'll be sure to let you know how I get it and just thought I'd share with you what I've read elsewhere online.
Here's the article I was on about earlier:
