I know I saw this somewhere before, either here or another forum, but for the life of me I can't find the post.
Anyway, all the custom ROMs I've used list the phone as a Desire HD in About Phone and on the Android Market. Is there anyway to get this to show up as the Inspire 4g?
The DHD to inspire 4G patch in my thread does exactly that

Awesome thanks! Will this work with any ROM or just LeeDroid?
Doesn't it do more than just the label though? It would be cool to have something that works on each version (Froyo, Gingerbread) and only does the version. I'm running CM7, but it would be nice to ID correctly.
It will apply device id's, check-in strings, gps info and the correct build.prop and locale settings, as well as the stock audio files and settings from the latest stock inspire build
Should work in any Rom but your build will show as LeeDrOiD 2.2.2

Lee your the best and I see you always there for help. That's so kind of you. We all really appreciate that.

Cm7 is gingerbread and leedroids patch is for Froyo.
Sent from Desire HD or Inspire 4G or whatever this thing is called via premium XDA app.
Has anyone flashed Lee's HD to Inspire patch on the AR3.1 Rom? I'm on the stock radio so it matches the radio that the patch calls for. Just want some verification from someone who has done it before I jump in.
Hello Frendz,
I am not very used to these forums and I hope it is not a problem to seek help in this general discussion forum.
So, yesterday HTC sent an upgrade to the factory default OS (i.e. 2.2 froyo) on my DHD and I happily upgraded to 2.3 Gingerbread. Now, before updating I had permanent root access on my desire through Visionary but just after the update I realised I do not have root anymore.
I would appreciate any comments and other experiences in this matter. Also, during my own research I came across Gingerbreak which is probably the best around for this purpose but am not keen to use it as it formats the SD card in process. Any suggestions on Gingerbreak's performance are also welcome.

Thanks for a quick reply mate and Pardon my lack of knowledge , for please tell me where can I get it. And also, please make me aware if there are any application based rooting methods available for gingerbread.

You ought to check "Desire HD Android Development" under the device-specific forum "HTC Desire HD", like this thread:

Thanks.....I will take a look

Right now, I'm considering upgrading to a sensation xe. I've seen some roms mentioning that they support the xe, but I'm not sure about the other roms. Will they support the xe? Also, do you recommend this phone?

Oh, and I heard that installing cm7 will wipe beats audio. Is there a way to back beats up and reinstall it after installing cm7?

Well, i've got an XE and have been using v 08 of this ROM... No problems (v 09 has some issues that will be resolved soon)
You have to S-Off and root etc. by following instructions here If you're not sure what you're doing then do not do it (there's my disclaimer!) Lol.
PS
I haven't lost the Beats by Dre either.
I see...thanks a lot. But since that is a sense ROM, it doesn't resolve my worries about losing beats as I mainly use AOSP roms on my devices.

Oh, and I also heard that there is some sort of bootloader unlock solution from HTC for the sensation and evo 3d. Will the one for the sensation work for the xe? Thx so much!

Developers,
I have just found the HTC Desire C ROM,it feature Sense 4.0 !
Could some of you recode/recompile the lib file to Armv6, the processor of Desire C most likely same as HTC Explorer.
Come on guys, we have made it possible for HTC Explorer ROM in Aria!
Original HTC Desire C RUU:
http://hotfile.com/dl/156147909/f28994e/RUU_GOLF_U_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_1.35.401.1_Radio_10.08.98.09H_1.05.98.08M2_release_260338_signed.exe.html
YES! This is great, we should be able to get it done. Do you know if it has that image sense chip?
Sent from my Liberty using XDA
Edit: Ok, the processor is a Snapdragon MSM7225A S1 processor, the same one as the HTC Explorer. So ARMv7. Also comes with 25GB of free dropbox storage and beats audio (the same feature the one x debuted with). And from the promo vids on Youtube, the device does appear to have the new camera... im unsure if we could port that though.

Yes,it does has image sense chip.
but we need some developers to rewrite the lib file, because the file was compiled for ARMv7.
OK, so here's some threads we can look out for

HTC Hero: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655256
We have some problem here, the ROM is way to big,the system partition size is about 265mb but our aria just have 251mb.
We have too choice to choose, 1st removed some app ,2nd repartition the system partition and use A2SDX for data partition.
EDIT:It should be ok,I am having 251mb because I am using CM9 munjeni.
If you need help, feel free to ask us.

The Htc explorer has barely any development, if anyone can help us port this to the explorer, as both have exactly the same hardware this would be greatly appreciated.

Yes the rom on the explorer is smaller, so the file is a little too big. Was wondering if someone could strip the desiire c rom down
On the Wildfire S we have the port stripped and booting to logcat/shell.
Now we just have to fix graphics.

We've made much more progress now with sense4 on the Wildfire S. We've managed to get it booting to the bootanimation. But we're having problems with some things. Would anyone be able to give us a hand with getting this thing booting? In return we could help you get it booting on your Aria
