[DEV] Porting Desire C ROM To Aria ! - HTC Aria Android Development

Developers,
I have just found the HTC Desire C ROM,it feature Sense 4.0 !
Could some of you recode/recompile the lib file to Armv6, the processor of Desire C most likely same as HTC Explorer.
Come on guys, we have made it possible for HTC Explorer ROM in Aria!
Original HTC Desire C RUU:
http://hotfile.com/dl/156147909/f28994e/RUU_GOLF_U_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_1.35.401.1_Radio_10.08.98.09H_1.05.98.08M2_release_260338_signed.exe.html

YES! This is great, we should be able to get it done. Do you know if it has that image sense chip?
Sent from my Liberty using XDA
Edit: Ok, the processor is a Snapdragon MSM7225A S1 processor, the same one as the HTC Explorer. So ARMv7. Also comes with 25GB of free dropbox storage and beats audio (the same feature the one x debuted with). And from the promo vids on Youtube, the device does appear to have the new camera... im unsure if we could port that though.

Yes,it does has image sense chip.
but we need some developers to rewrite the lib file, because the file was compiled for ARMv7.

OK, so here's some threads we can look out for
Wildfire S: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658056
Github: https://github.com/wfsdev/marvel-golf-port
HTC Hero: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655256

We have some problem here, the ROM is way to big,the system partition size is about 265mb but our aria just have 251mb.
We have too choice to choose, 1st removed some app ,2nd repartition the system partition and use A2SDX for data partition.
EDIT:It should be ok,I am having 251mb because I am using CM9 munjeni.

If you need help, feel free to ask us.

The Htc explorer has barely any development, if anyone can help us port this to the explorer, as both have exactly the same hardware this would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone tried just flashing it as-is? Might work.. kernel could be a problem
Note to any Aria users: that won't work for us

Yes the rom on the explorer is smaller, so the file is a little too big. Was wondering if someone could strip the desiire c rom down

On the Wildfire S we have the port stripped and booting to logcat/shell.
Now we just have to fix graphics.

We've made much more progress now with sense4 on the Wildfire S. We've managed to get it booting to the bootanimation. But we're having problems with some things. Would anyone be able to give us a hand with getting this thing booting? In return we could help you get it booting on your Aria

Firstly .. HTC Explorer has a 600mhz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7225A... which is ARMv7
Your HTC salsa has a 800mhz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor ... which is ARMv6
Temple Run and Minecraft only supports ARMv7 (for now that is)
Hope that helps

I don't think xda could convert it because there is no source code.

pure AOSP with all the improvements CM9
I downloaded the .zip file and browsed through the files in it. It seems to be a legit ROM with a CM9 bootanimation I have not seen yet. It has pretty basic apps prepackaged with it, it does have ROM Manager with it. I have not got the build.prop to open yet but i only have tried opening it with Notepad so I will have to try another program later.
I have not flashed it to a Sensation as I do not have my Sensation right now. I just wanted to add some more info to this thread as it has very little info right now. So please do not ask any questions about how does it preform or can you give screen shots.
Will flash but is it compatible whit superwipe??

You know that is a real good question. It seems like it was built from scratch using CM source. Alteast that is the impression I get from "picked from review.cyanogenmod.com" line at the bottom. I mean it does appear to take you to the CM site.

Dual Boot , is it possible?

This may be a dumb question, but I thought it would be really cool if it was possible. Would it be possible to dual-boot between a sense ROM and a CM10 ROM with perhaps a script using script manager or TWRP recovery and to fit both ROMs on the system partition would it be possible to combine\collapse certain files that are identical on both of the ROMs? Or is that they completely absurd and ridiculous question?
P.S. I am a horrible speller.

I'm sure its possible... but I think it would be a pain in the butt for the deva

Just not supported for the One X because no S-off. :crying:
Not currently available on our phone, the closest you're going to come is storing any cross-ROM data on your SD card partition and flashing between the backups of two ROMs. Personally I believe that devs should focus on their ROMs becoming so polished that you won't need to dual boot
What benefits were you looking to get out of running two separate ROMs?
Cm10+ sense camera would be awesome.

It's a very practical way of testing new roms and rom updates on a second partition, while maintaining a stable rom on the first partition as your "daily driver".
Hi, I have been using bootmanager on my last 2 HTC phones (dhd and sensation) and its great. I used it to test out loads of different Roms and also had a work based Rom (with mandatory extra software etc) and my own for the rest of the time.
I recently upgraded to the one x and was gutted to find that it was not supported. I am lucky enough to have an s-off version so tried a manual setup but it fails at the first hurdle when setting up phone Rom.
The devs seem to be having some time off and their support mail quota is blown so have not managed to ask them. Shame as they used to be great with support.
If the bootmanager devs or anyone cleverer than I has any ideas let me know otherwise I will report back if I ever get it to work.
Cheers

Can we port Roms by this method.

Take a sense 4.1 Rom from HTC one s.port it to desire hd then to one v then to desire c and finally to pico. This method may work as in the end we are porting from desire c.

Honestly , no. You can port it directly to our device, and sense is not as easy to port as it sounds. This method is too complex. And Sense 4.1 has already booted for our phone. We should consider fixing that rather than trying to attempt a new port.
