I have installed PrintBot and it works perfectly to print a pdf or e-mail from Katien Mail. From browser, I have to convert to PDF first but that's no problem as there are plenty of apps that can do that.
I would like to know if it is possible to print off a GMail app. I don't see a share menu which what I need to be able to print off an e-mail off of GMail. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Theoretically you could try to browse Gmail via web browser and convert the page to a PDF as you said you've done with other stuff before. I've noticed that sometimes when browsing Google sites on my TF or my SGS that it detects I'm signed in already, which would make sense since the Google account is linked to the device and signs in from time to time to sync any new data to your account.

The problem is you can't convert from an https. It uses an online service to do the conversion of PDF.

Ah, now I see where you're coming from...not really sure at this stage what else to suggest unfortunately. Hope you find an answer to this as I can understand to an extent why this might be useful.

I want all the folders supported in Dolphin, not just 500 bookmarks that aren't in folders.
I am also trying to sync my chrome contacts.
I stumbled upon this and am also having trouble finding a way to do that easily. Or at all as a matter of fact.
you may want to look at "google bookmarks assister2" its a free app that will sync you google bookmarks. Now it doesn't sync them with a browser app it will show the bookmarks in that application and you can launch them from there and it does give folders so it isn't to bad. I had some trouble getting it to sync correctly but after I did it worked pretty nice. Hope this helped good luck.
anyone found anything to do this? if i had all my bookmarks i could seriously use my tablet as a laptop/desktop replacement.
google bookmarks != chrome bookmarks (which are still synced to the cloud... there must be a way of syncing)
It would be really nice to sync the bookmarks from Chrome with the Android browser. Will look in the market..

Have you tried Xmarks? It's not free (you have to pay a $1/m subscription fee to get the Android app to let you login. see: http://buy.xmarks.com/premium.php), but it will automatically sync your bookmarks to Android, as well as between computers and browsers, and it stores them all online.

thats isnt the same thing as what we are talking about. We are talking about syncing 50+ bookmarks at times. with chrome to phone you would have to send each one then bookmark each one. That could take a while

I can vouch for this. It synced every app that was in the specified folder rather fast. I definitely needed this.
ChromeMarks (Lite/free - if you're satisfied with 1 way sync => PC to phone)
thank you for the help
I just tried PhoneMarks. I setup it up to sync with the default android browser, then went into dolphin HD\bookmarks to SD to sync from android browser to google bookmarks, then synced google bookmarks to dolphin. long story short, my chrome bookmarks are finally on my phone. thanks for the tip.
I'd love to try chromemarks, but I fear giving that many permissions to an app, that should be a stock feature. :/
I'm sure in time I'll just do it.
questions:
does it sync folders as well?
and does it just show up in the browser bookmarks, or do you have to click the app icon or whatever?
Phonemarks moves the bookmarks to recently visited on Samsung phones. Melt.
If you do however, go into most visited and untap the yellow favs star then click it again it'll add it to favourites.
Can't believe google didn't had that damn feature on last 2.x updates..! PhoneMarks, what would be the danger to use it exactly..?
Hello all,
I set up Cloud printing on my computer and it works fine. According to the article listed below, it states that the Gmail app as been updated to include the google cloud print option. I am able to navigate to gmail.com on the mobile browser and I have those printing options, but not in the gmail app ( made sure there wasn't any update in the market)... Am I missing something here?
http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20029456-1.html
Google unveiled Cloud Print in last year's Chrome Dev Channel build, and the search engine giant forges ahead again with today's release of Google Cloud Print for the Gmail mobile app for the iPhone and Android operating systems.

Seems that the CNET article is indeed misleading in that it IS NOT part of the app.
Maybe it's better this way.
The article also says:
from your smartphone simply by opening a file in the mobile browser and choosing "Print" from the drop-down menu in the updated app.

Basically, you can print from any modern phone simply by logging in at gmail.com instead of using the gmail app.
They may update the app but for now I can tell you... IT WORKS!
Sweet beans!
The only "catch" seems to be that Google Chrome would have had to been open at least once after a reboot and the computer has to be running, of course.
Right now, with chrome running, cloud printing will work.
If I close chrome, it will still work - chrome will leave a small process/service running in the background so that it will print immediately without having the browser open.
So I decided to test it by rebooting and printing something from my superphone.
The phone sent the print job successfully, cool.
The computer is still booting up...
Windows loads and after everything is running, it still don't print - seems that chrome's print service/process doesn't get loaded on boot.
So I open up chrome and close it... and the email immediately printed out
I can add the chrome service thingie to windows startup anyway so it's an easy workaround to get it to print without having had to open chrome manually after a boot.
All in all, it's pretty neat.
Oh and thanks for posting about it... I knew nothing about this... heh
Thanks for the information! I don't think I will be using this feature, but I was curious how it actually worked.
Does anyone know if it's possible to 'share' this to someone else's account? I have a file server which has the printer connected to. There are 3 of us in the house on Android phones, but I'm the only one that can print from Gmail?
Looks like chrome will only setup a connection to 1 gmail account.
A workaround would be to change the email setting in chrome (disable cloud printing and then re-enable with a different email)
If you had 2 other computers running chrome and connected to the printer, that would work too.
If you go into chrome, cloud print, manage printers, hover to the right of the printer, there is a pull-down to share the printer. Enter their gmail address and you are all set.
i would like to realize an application to synchronize google chrome bookmarks with my phone.
no problem realizing the application. the only problem is: how can i download data from google server? how can i get the list of bookmarks from google chrome server?
From what I heard, they used to have them available in the google docs website. However, they're making some changes and the synced bookmarks are not currently accessible.
I occasionally use an app called (I think) Chrome to Windows Phone which is useful for sending one link at a time - but like you say it would be great to have a complete sync like e.g. XMarks does for desktop browsers.
It might be worth contact XMarks to see if they would open their API for you to write a phone app.

xmark is a browser extension. i think it's possible to realize an extension, but my idea was an http request like you can do with google bookmarks.
an extension won't allow me to access data from the device anytime i want (or i can do it using a webserver)
You might want to take a look at chromepush.com as well.
Similar app
There is a similar application for Android:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.h.chromemarks&hl=ru
It will be great, if any alternative will be released for WP7!!

I recently released an app that does that - it talks directly to Google's servers using the native Chrome sync protocol. It syncs down open Tabs, Bookmarks and recently accessed web pages. It is available in the marketplace under "Chrync" - there is an unlimited trial, and I've no problem with people using it without paying for as long as they like.
I've also released a beta of a new version, which works when you have sync encryption enabled in Chrome. It also (optionally) syncs passwords, lets you pin bookmarks and folders, and lets you search bookmarks, passwords and recent URLs. Info on the beta at chrync.com/beta1-1/

nice
This is now solved based on the post Bellow go to www.google.com/sync on a browser with agent as iPhone or from actual iOS browser and choose your device (check the last sync time) and check the appropriate box.
So I`m trying the Skyrocket and of course one of the main apps used is email. I tried GMAIL app and it sucks, not being able to pinch to zoom or just resize html message is unacceptable.
So I`m using native email app setup gmail as exchange server so it`ll push messages out and its not great, but good enough... One thing I ran in to today, when I delete emails from the phone they do not go in to TRASH folder, seems that it archives the messages, even if I manually move the message to trash folder it still doesnt put them there. Seems only way to see those messages is if I check all mail.
I need to change this behavior any idea ? I need mails to go to trash when I delete them on the phone...
Found a google support discussion on this topic, but I can't post it here because I haven't reached 8 posts. Do a google search for the help topic "Google Sync, Gmail, and iPhone -- mail getting archived instead of moved to trash"
To change the delete button from archiving to delete, you can visit m.google.com/sync from the iOS browser (this will not work from the desktop) and chose the setting for “Delete email as trash”. Once enabled, the delete button on iOS Mail app will now move the message to Trash instead of archiving it.

The interesting thing is they just updated this feature two days ago (or at least that's when they posted about it).

I swear I followed that link from another page that talked about issues on android, but now I can't even seem to find that. Sorry for that oversight.
It seems that the only way around it is to use IMAP or use the native GMAIL app. Google people seem to follow the /r/google subreddit, perhaps that's a place to mention it?
THis is the stupides thing ever ! I just went to the m.google.com/sync page on iphone on indroid it doesnt work and i see my device there and I can change settings, but I dont think it works in the client. I dont get it so this is fixed on the iOS client, but not android ? Google own ?
Ok actually changing on the iOS device worked.... which is of course strange, but ok.. Now here is another thing, if I move that same email from trash in web interface it doesnt show up in phone... but I guess I can use all mail to get those...
I recently purchased the Moto G 4G LTE and have been having a blast with it. It was simple to unlock the bootloader, add TWRP, and root the device. It was also simple to unbloat the device since it did not have much bloatware on to begin with. Over all I am really pleased with my purchase.
I did change out the SMS app because the original was very bland. However, the email app was driving me crazy. So I spent a better part of the day looking at the available free email apps to see which one I would prefer over the stock app. I was totally disappointed when I found that all the apps I tried did not work well with GMail. Each app would fetch the test mail from GMail and then delete the mail preventing me for using Outlook to download the mail to my PC. No matter what I tried, the app would either delete or "mark as read" and my Outlook could not retrieve it.
It seems the only email app that worked in keeping the GMail intact was the stock email app on the phone. But I don't like it because it does not tell me if it is sync'ing with the server and downloading or not. So I have no way of knowing except if an email is download it will give me a notification. It won't even give me the last sync timestamp.
Anyone using an email app that works with GMail (retrieve but leave unaltered), AND, you can also download the email with Outlook?
What's wrong with using the actual Gmail app and syncing on your Outlook?
There's going to be a combination of Gmail POP3 settings and mail client settings that will determine if a message is deleted from the server or not upon retrieval.
I use the free version of Maildroid, it works great with what I use, being Outlook, MSN, and Gmail. Puts everything into one place.
I don't understand why, but the OEM email does not affect the mail on GMail. When I access the mail and download it to my phone, I can then access the same email from Outlook on my PC and download the same mail. But using other applications like K-10 and Aquamail, when I download the mail to my phone I cannot access with Outlook on my PC. So the other mail programs must be doing something that the OEM email app is not doing. Strange. I have also tried some different settings in GMail to no avail.
I cannot comment about the apps that you have mentioned, but providing the app that you choose uses IMAP then the various email clients should maintain synchronization with each other. @Darkshado mentioned POP3. I used to have problems with Hotmail using POP3, but since they implemented IMAP the problems have disappeared. I can confirm that Maildroid works correctly, you can choose in settings whether or not to delete messages off the server.
Thanks for the tip on Maildroid. That works for me. Much appreciated.
Glad to help. I just wish that is was cheaper, but I hardly notice the ad's at the bottom anymore
I am surprised the other apps that you tried have problems, I was thinking that you had made a mistake in the configuration or something. We learn..... Cheers.

I have added AdBlock and the ads are gone. The other mail programs had all the same options but did not do what I wanted. Very frustrating because I liked their aesthetics. But like you said, live and learn...
I use K9. It's open source and has pretty advanced settings to manage synchronization and server actions. It takes some to to configure, but that can be an advantage...
K-9 was another one I tested that did not work for me. Appreciate the response though. Some of these mail programs look really nice. K-9 was one of them, I just wish it would not molest the mail so I can download it later into my Outlook mail for archiving.
Hi, Can you tell me which Adblock is the best one to use. I find quite a few on play store.

I have used Adblock Plus for the longest on my Firefox browser PC and Tablet. So I went with what I know best, AdbLock Plus ver 1.2.1. On my free apps I see absolutely no ads. Wonderful.
Thanks for the pointer. Apparently it's banned from the Play Store, no wonder that I didn't find it. I did try another one called Adblock which is on Play Store and it seemed to do nothing at all. Anyway, I have been using the one that you suggested for about a week now, and you are correct, no ads anywhere. No wonder Google doesn't allow it! Thank's..
