[Q] skype with Das BaMf sense 3.0 rc3? - General Questions and Answers

Okay just wondering i know that there is a new skype leak out that is said to work with thunderbolts running gingerbread...now this rom (Das BaMf sense 3.0 rc3) that i am speaking of, is that not a gingerbread based rom?
because of the radios we have to use? mc2 or mc2.5? so if i am right should the latest skype leak work with us using this rom on a thunderbolt?
if anyone could help me out i would love to hear back and some input on if it works or if it doesn't then why.?

[Q] CM7, EB2.3.4, eVil D, or Faux Nexus AOSP?

Which GB based rom would you install today, and why?
I prefer EaglesBlood 2.3.4 gingerbread rom..Super silky and smooth...works flawless

I have used EB 2.3.4 and CM7 Im currently CM7 and feel both kind of the same but im thinking bout going back to EB i think its a bit faster and smoother.
CM7 since it seems to be the only one that wants to let Windows read my external SD card.

[Q] Any stable GB ROMs?

I have read a lot of threads and i get the impression that the GB ROMs are not and will not be fully stable until an OTA comes out, which as we know from VZs track record could be never. In any case, I am currently unrooted and running the leaked MR2 RUU. I absolutely LOVE it as it has rebooted on me once in a week or two. Being that some update will come out next week from VZ, I feel forced to root my phone. If I do, and want to keep this same level of stability it seems my only option is the froyo Eaton ROM based on MR2. Ideally I'd like to run GB, but with the instability and being that all of them have some known issue that isn't fixed, Froyo seems to be my only option atm. What would you all suggest? Thanks!
I have tried a lot of them. I have been stuck on the Thunderstick rom.
I have had no problems what so ever, but your mileage may vary. I am also on the mr2 radio, mr2.5 didn't play nice for me.
I have also been following what is going on at the3ry rom that would be the one I would jump to if I wasn't so happy were I am.
Just make the jump try them out and find what works best for you.
Try Das Bamf 2.1. It may have a bug or two but the thing is damn stable. I use it as my daily ROM. What issues were you hearing of?
Na man, try Gibgeritis muthafucka.

Thank you all, appreciate your responses. The problems I have been seeing range from wifi problems, to poor battery life, to reception problems with 4G, and interface/layout issues.
That sounds like the bugs CM has been having. AFAIK all the sense based GB ROMs are basically stable right now
You will have to decide (try) yourself. I am using Das BAMF sense 3 RC3. I have had no problems with it for the three days I've had it. WiFi works great, GPS great, I'll keep testing, but so far no problems.
I'm still on Bamf 2.0.v 5.. I haven't had any reboots or werid things ever. I'm new to rooting, I've only ever tried their time... From all the froyo up. Never had anything bothersome. Get about 29 hours with under clocking and juice defender

sense based GB ROMs dont have any of these problems (tried most, stuck on Gingervitis 3D v1.0 beta) and even CM7 when matched up with the right kernel (trial and error) is easily liveable as a daily driver. If you can live with the factory bugs rooted roms should be no problem. I dont get where the idea factory roms are issue free. Half the reason I installed froyo roms were to fix apps, GPS and other issues the factory software had built in. I havent had a random reboot yet since the developers got the kernels more stable or any other major issue and the rom is still a beta.
Das bamf 3.0 rc3 has been very stable for me everything works great and with rc4 around the corner its only going to get better

Hopped around to Various ROMs and have pretty much tried them all. My best ROM would be Gingeritis. Knowing that each phone will have it's own personality/just as the owner's do, I recommend to try them all and find what works best for you.
I have tried several of the GB roms, my issues have been more problems with the looks than the performance. I tried a few that had the clear button on the left, and one that had the transparent pull down and that just drove me nuts. I want just a plain on Sense 2.1 rom with GB. I don't need all the bells and whistles and graphics. Plain Sense and GB so I can use Netflix. Does anyone know of a plain ole Sense rom that is Gingerbread?

+1 I have enjoyed the ROM. Only issue I ever had was after modding my sense ring, I got a lot of reboots. Idk. Probably something I did.

bamf sense 3.0 rc4!!! so stable for me :]
Bamf 3.0 RC4 has been stable for me so far.
i'm on bamf 2.1 now, and my biggest complaint is that it does not provide voicemail notifications. I must restart the phone to see any voicemail notification. Do the other GB roms have this issue as well?

[Q] BakedSnack 1.7

I have the HTC Evo 4G. I have been using the BakedSnack 1.7 rom now with a baked snack kernel now for quite some time now. I love it. I don't really want to change rom's as I have not found another that I like as much. :-/
I was just wondering, will there be another BakedSnack rom at all for the Evo? Just android 2.2 is getting a tad old and the voicemail issue is becoming annoying. Lol. Other than that, this rom is awesome!
Thanks!

[Q] 2.3.4/2.3.5 and Exchange Activesync

Was shocked to find my research before swapping my work iphone to an android handset didnt uncover the Activesync problems (in my case calendar). Seems its a known issue and my 2.3.4 certainly had the problem. So much for my skill in the droid forums!
My Nook on a 2.3.5 ROM works fine, so changed from Chris' Pyramid3D to the 2.3.5 based S3N5EaY on my Sensation and can confirm the activesync is working fine.
My question has anyone else got a 2.3.4 ROM that works fine with exchange AS? Knowing most of the 2.3.5 based ROM's for the sensation are at early stages I'd like to get something stable (will be testing the current one and hoping it's all good).
Thanks!
I've being using ARHD on both 2.3.4 and 2.3.5, not had any issues with Exchange ActiveSync
What issues have you been having?
Just updated to Android v. 2.3.5 comming from 2.3.4 and now I can not get the Exchange ActiveSync to function again.
Exchange working without a problem on LeeDroid 3.1.0

+1 EAS working on CM7, ARHD 3.x.x
Thanks for the confirmations of working ROMs. My issue is the calendar synch fails with socket timeout. I've tried the many suggestions but it be broke for me on 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 based ROM's!
Using CdTDroiD's S3N5EaY ROM and it fixed the issue (based off 2.3.5) so hoping to keep on track with that ROM as it develops.
I've had no issues with stock 2.3.3, 2.3.4 and now with Beast 2.3.5 based ROM I still have no issues with Activesync. Both mail and calendar work perfectly.
It may be the way our servers are set up, but i know many folks have the issues (not just on the sensation its multiple android phones).

Looking for a general consensus...

First off, shout out to all the amazing Devs. I envy you for what you can do.
So I was looking for some feedback on what you guys run on your G2x's for custom roms and kernels.
I've played with alot and keep finding myself going back to a GB 2.3.7 ROM.
For GB I have personally used:
EaglesBlood
Hellfire Phenoix v2.2 and just went to v2.3 on launch.
A Rooted stock 2.3.4
Atm I am running cm7-kang-G2x-135
I've never messed with a nightly before, but I love it so far.
Most of the time I use faux's kernels.
For ICS:
Paranoid Android JB Flavored
EaglesBlood
Hellfire Sandwich (loved it for about 5min, than non stop FC on com.phone.android, uninstalled)
Genesis
Domination
MIUI_G2x_V4
So I was just curious what setups your running and if your happy with them.
I wish I could get a modded rom that supported bluetooth. Making I'm not looking in the right place? I know all CM7 based BT doesn't work. Anyone have an ICS ROM that will playback video ok? I had MX Player running on one but I can't for the life of me remember which ROM it was, I've DL'd so many now.
