From Windows Mobile, I'm used to scrolling through a contact lsit by initial letter, i.e. when I move through the list at a high speed, the system starts to jump across initial letters instead, displaying the current letter on top of the list. I've been able to achieve the same thing accidentally on my new Sensation, but I cannot reproduce it. Can anybody give advice on this?
Try to touch the position indicator in the scroll bar on the right hand side of the screen, then drag it down. The bar is a bit narrow in sense and may be a little difficult to "grab".

Thanks for the info, works for me, but the position indicator is only showing up while the list is scrolling... Any alternative way? Is is possible to increase the size?
That's my best answer. Try htc help and the market for a third party app. Might have to wait for root and custom roms.

that bar indeed is small, it should of been a bit thicker.
The latest update made the bar easier to grab! Works a lot better now!

I'm having the problem that only the right side of the vertical scrollbar is working. This is very annoying. For example when using the file explorer, if I touch the middle or left side of the vertical scrollbar I select the nearest item instead of grabbing the scrollbar.
What can I do?
I have this problem also. My workaround (until finding a better solution, hopefully) was to increase the size of the vertical scrollbar. Using the advanced configuration tool, I increased from the default 13 pixels to 16 pixels. You're right though... it's hella annoying.
I've actually noticed that in some roms myself (I don't have it right now, fortunately). It's kind of annoying, isn't it? Just suck it up and use the right half of the scroll bar with your thumbnail. Sorry, but that's all I got. You can increase the scroll bar size, like jrowlings mentioned, but then things start getting fugly. Just don't clip your right thumbnail too close.
I have an problem with the touch x transparent slider cab. When I install it, the bottom sense bar is transparent but I cannot see the icon where the selection box is. I can see all the icons on the bottom fine but I cannot see the icon where the slider/selection box is. For an example, If you slide all the way to the left on to the home screen and release your finger, I cannot see the home icon in the little square slector box. It seems to cover up the icon that it is over. I hope you guys can understand what I'm talking about. Can anyone post a fix cab for this? Thank you for your help and patience!
can anyone help me with this please

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your problem, but I think what you are explaining is actually what the cab does. It makes the 'slider' (i.e. the little frame around the 'slider icons') transparent, so you cannot see it.
If you do not like this and are just asking how to get it back to the way it was before, you just need to remove the cab i.e. go into Settings, select 'Application', then 'Remove Programs', then highlight 'touch x transparent slider cab' in the list and finally, click on 'Remove'. You will probably also need to perform a 'soft reset' after that, to get rid of the change completely...
If this is not what you meant, then please consider posting a screenshot of the problem and adding it to the description on this thread.
im still not understanding your problem completely, can u clarify it for me?
His problem is that He don't see the icon on his slider selection because of the fact he don't used a transparent slider selector on a slider who have in his M9 mode the Icon you see on the slider turns off!!
But he used different combination's! so it is quit difficult to solved it!
I thin'k it will be more simpler that he make a choice on what he will and modified the m9 values of the manila file in function of his depends!
If not, it will not be easy fore anyone to make a fix cab! The last week I give him a solution, but it seem's he changed already to a other slider. the problem of the m9 file is that there are also other data of other stuff he used!
thank you for clarifying that Kurt. I guess I will just have to do with out the touch x transparent slider cab.
As per the title, is it possible to hide the activity/notification bar from the bottom of the screen, particularly when viewing movies or playing games?
I would assume so, but it might have to be done by the app that you're using. It does so in the Youtube app, it makes the buttons disappear and replaces them with tiny dark dots so I would assume that as a dev, someone could do the same. But I dont recall there being an option to do it.
No?
I don't think so, however devs can move it, like in the game Spirit, they place it on the left so it's as though you're getting more screen space. However, I don't think you can fully remove it, as it's the main way of navigating the device. Hope this helps!
The dots are called lights out mode
you can use gesture control to hide the bottom bar

Does anybody know if there is a way to keep the status bar icons visible in wp7.5? Is there some option to disable the autohide function via some registry changes?
I know that this is against the minimalistic approach of wp7 and that it's easy to see the signal strenght and wi-fi signal icon, etc. just with one tap on top of the screen, but I sometimes like to have such information just at a glance, without one extra touch... especially that I often have to deal with very weak signal...
Anybody help please? I would appreciate it very much...
Not Possible atm
unless they push the setting in an update, you have to be content with the tapping top middle screen
I would also like this to happen; and there is always a way either by the way of a reg hack or a dll hack. Please someone do this
Currently not possible. But just a FYI.. If there is no signal, top bar will be automatically shown. Same applies for WiFi indicator as well.

That's bad news. Maybe it's my personal opinion but I don't like having to swipe to see this information plus it leaves an akward looking space. Like I said maybe it's just me.
But for me, it presents much cleaner screen and I don't have to look at those symbols anytime. If there's an issue that needs user attention, it will be shown automatically. That's really cool imo. But We have to live with it for now.

I'm looking for a way to edit my HTC Incredible Notification/Status Bar. I was wondering if there is a way I can make the bar at the top of the screen bigger. I have a case on my phone that I really like and the top of the case stops right as my screen starts. So it is difficult to pull down my notification bar with the case on. I don't necessarily have to resize it if I could move it or maybe get an icon for it, or something.. Any solutions would be appreciated.
