Sorry to start another thread about this but i've looked and searched.. I flashed Android Revolution HD last week, and I've only have been able to get 3g on my status bar since. I've tried flashing different roms to no avail. I did a quick speedtest and got 1.4 down 1.2 up. If I remember correctly you have to flash back to completely unrooted stock. ?? is this the only way ?
Maybe if you flashed a new radio it would fix it.
I tried it before and it didn't work but I just tried it again through bootloader and it's back.. weird.. 3.0 down and 1 up Thanks
Any help with this, stayed on hspa for a bit then switched to 3g.. do i have to go back to stock then re-root? Thanks in advance.

I've noticed that sometimes my connection will be 3G, then switch to H once a data session starts (many other users have reported this also, regardless of the ROM being used). Is this the case with you? I assume you normally have HSDPA (or HSPA+)? If your speeds aren't affected, I wouldn't mess with anything. If so, try and reflash the radio, as the OP tried. Give it 20 minutes or so before testing again.
No I completely lost hspa, I think my speeds dropped. Tried flashing a new radio a couple of times, tried everything. I was on 3g for a month or so. RUU'd back to stock, now its fine. Thanks though.

that isn't changing your radio band, so i'm guessing that you didn't try it. it's a pretty stupid idea, but who cares as long as it works, right? dial *#*#4636#*#* and click on phone information. then push menu, select radio band, and choose USA. otherwise, take it into sprint lol
This happened to me today. Flash to a stock rom (if you aren't already) and update your profile and PRL. Did the trick for me.
Good luck

I'm running the latest Cyanogen and cannot get 4g to save my life. I tried the *#*#info#*#* settings but nothing. I don't have the cdma+lte option like she does tho. I changed my ROM and wiped but nothing. My wifes stock TV gets 4g fine but i'm stuck in 3g
Any help?
sometimes on cm and aosp roms, instead of lte, it would be listed as other. usually a soft reset would get 4g back though. Might want to try the stock rom, rooted and see if you are still having troubles. Your sim might be on the fritz.

Thanks guys. I'm downloading a stock ROM now, but how do I tell the radio? I believe its MR 2.5 but I forget. 4g worked before, but doesn't now. Not sure what I did. Under info I don't have other, but I've unknown. Still doesn't work with that.
Eh, bad stock ROM I came across, but I installed liquid now I've 4g. So could it be just a cm problem?
Double post.
Rooting, ROMS, Kernels, Basebands, MODs, So many flashing options. I lost my reception at my cottage which is on an extended network roaming. As soon as I go into that area everything drops, voice and data. I Odined back to Stock unrooted did a factory reset and the service returned flawlessly.
I was on latest baseband J1 at the time, SynergyROM, MIEA backed up, bootloader unlocked.
Now I'm getting itchy fingers again. Want to go back to Synergy, etc. But I DON'T want to loose my reception while I'm at the cottage for a few days. It's my only connection to the world.
Starting from scratch again, what could've been the culprit?

There is a new baseband kernel. Its the (K1) kernel. Its in scrolsers ROMS and pretty much on every touchwiz d2vzw ROM.

Baseband updates certainly do affect signal. It seems that the stock one works best for you.
The good news is you don't need to update baseband to go to a different ROM. You can keep your stock radio and flash a new jellybean leak without altering your signal.

I've also noticed that many ROMs have roaming disabled by default. Not sure if it makes a difference, but might help.

So I did a full clean wipe, twice just to be sure.
Flashed RC1 and everything seemed to be going great at first. Then I noticed that the signal is dropping in and out. (I live in San Diego) It won't hold a signal for any reasonable amount of time. So it drops from 4G LTE going off. I've rebooted. At a bit of a loss. I'm operating on ATT.
Should I try to reflash? I was previously running CM 10.0 with no serious issues.
I've made sure the priority is LTE/GSM
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
May be your APN? What radio are you using?

I had it on ATT Phone and then switched it to ATT LTE. Issue wasn't resolved. I tried the other APNs as well. Same result.
For poops and giggles I flashed the most recent nightly 05/06 and still had the same issue.
May seem silly to ask, but how do you flash the modem? That sounds like it could be a solution.
Edit: Ermm what radios did you flash to fix the problem?
Looking more like you need the latest UCMC1 radio. Happened with a big kernel update in the nightlies, since this is getting closer to stable, I'm sure we'll see this problem more as more people start updating.

Yea, I flashed that one after I found it on a post about the radios. It fixed the problem to an extent. However I'm getting much weaker signal than usual (although this could be the bars not displaying properly maybe, I don't want to jump immediately to a conclusion) and also am getting the data bars greyed out which means it's not.
Do you recommend reflashing the radio again?

b2tracken,
Just wanted to say thanks for your post here and that I'm experiencing the same exact thing. Yesterday I upgraded my skyrocket from an old ICS install to the latest 4.2.2 with CM 10.1, coincidentally right when this RC1 came out, so I quickly upgraded from M3 to RC1 last night. This morning I noticed that something was up with the radio and read your post. I flashed the radio to UCMC1 like you probably did and now I'm getting a connection, but about half as strong (in bars) as before the whole upgrade. Really no complaints yet - it hasn't hindered phone calls or mobile data connection - but I would be interested to find out if there is anything I can do to improve it, or configure it properly. I'm a big noob when it comes to phones.
Thanks,
Chad

The only other thing that I have changed is going and changing the APN under mobile networks to ATT LTE from ATT Phone. I'm getting about half signal also and intermittent issues with it greying out. (They seem to have not been very prevalent.) Seems that I'm not the only one with the issue which is fortunate. Give that a shot. Hopefully it gets worked out in the next release.
Att ucmc1 apn
SO I've uploaded the original UCMC1 stock ATT APN, you can just create a new APN and set it like these images.
Also wondering, after you cleanup (format data, system, cache, dalvik cache), No reboots, you do the next in the following order:
1-flash UCMC1 Radio
2-flash CM10.1 ROM (I'm still on 04/23 and everything works: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272261)
3-flash gapps from 20130301 (http://goo.im/gapps)
Good luck,
Don't forget to hit THANKS if I helped you
Having the same exact issue, I've done everything stated here, only thing i did differently was updated the radio after CM.
Well the problem came back randomly with RC2 to an extent.
Now everything is showed as greyed out and no connection available including wifi.
Anybody have a clue on this?

+1. UCMC1 should be used on all current CM10.1 builds. Any older radios will cause major problems with the newer JB-based blobs we use in CM10.1 past around 4/24.
One caveat: I don't know about Rogers users, sorry guys. If you have an official JB release from Samsung, you should use that radio. (Otherwise you will have to use UCMC1)

What nightly are you on? Anything after 4/23 (including the RC's) will have a lot of those instability issues. The developers are working hard to fix it if you want to read the development thread.

I think there's some extra APKs you need to add to custom ROMs.

The reason I am searching through posts is this: my 3G works fine. But when it kicks over to LTE... Nothing happens... In a minute or two I may get 4 mbs or something pretty good and then nothing again. I need it to actually work. My wife has the same issue on her S4 and she is stock. It switches over to LTE.... Nothing. I have LTE off mostly. Steady slow 3g is better than no progress on LTE.
