I was wondering if this was possible, being that they are the same size screen and resolution. Not sure if they use different display drivers or something.

Hey All,
Please excuse the noobity.
I'm trying to connect a Microvision Show WX+ PICO Projector to the MHL port of my Galaxy Nexus or Asus A500. I've found the appropriate cable but the Android output is locked at 720p whereas the Projector accepts a max of 480p.
Question: Is it possible, through a ROM or any other means, to force switch a) the entire device' resolution to 480 or just the MHL output, as you might with a multiple screen setup on a Desk/Laptop?
Thanks so much in advance!!!
T
No solution from me I'm afraid, just a bump! I'm interested in this because on my galaxy note everything gets really slow when using mhl. It would be great to lower the resolution to make everything a bit smoother.
Something which might also help me but not OP would be if the display was rendered only once. Since my TV says it receives a 1080p signal from the phone (and the phone screen is obviously not displaying 1080p) I must presume that although the content of each screen is identical, they are actually rendered separately.

Hi,
I have a problem with my TF700T. For s few seconds after waking my tablet up, image displayed has wired colors. It looks like screen displays less colors and in few seconds it fluently becomes as it should be (pls see attachements).
This only takes place when tablet is in eco mode. In balanced and normal mode everything is OK.
Does anybody have similar effect in eco mode?
I have this too. Not that severe, but i have noticed it.
I think this is due to governor change or something related to cpu clocking. I had this with many custom roms on my phone and i don't think is a hw problem at all. So, no worries.

Thanks for reply. It also came to my mind that probably in eco mode CPU is too weak to handle full HD display.
All in all, such thing should not take place on tablet that is supposed to be one of the best and is one of the most expensive on the market.

Because I am telling you that it is not possible to do - at least not on your phone. It is possible on some high-end Android phones to run an HDMI output to a TV, the same as I guess you can do on an iPhone.
Hello. I just upgrade my software to version 8.1.0 automatically and I have a problem about screen colors and resolution. The colors are strongly expressed and also pictures are not clear. Also, in games everything is blurry. Can you help me?
Try with a factory reset.

I won't be able to help you but... Can you post a screenshot or two and state your phone model?
I believe this is the stupid sharpening filter that LG puts on their phones. Previously you could fix it by using a very low blue light filter (comfort view) but now doing that does no effect and the screen looks ugly. Not sure if LG will push another update for this (probably not) but if it bothers you too much, I recommend downgrading back to Nougat.

See this thread.
I already upgraded to 8.1 but because of oversharpening of screen display I decided to go back to 7.1 and turn on blue light filter to correct over sharpening. I don't think LG will release an update to fix this issue. I just can't stand this oversharpening eye strain
I did the same thing.
I will just hang on with Nougat until it doesn't support all my applications anymore, which will probably take a while (more than 1 year), given Android's version distribution... Or just buy a G6 which doesn't have the problem (as far as I could see) and has Oreo (and maybe it will get Pie). Or buy another similarly compact phone.
I'm facing this issue on my one plus 7 pro nebula.
Please help.

I'm not seeing this at all. What are your display settings and have you changed them at all? Refresh rate? Quad? Is it only trailing darks?
Thanks
Can you compare it to another amoled smartphone?
This is normal. It happens to any AMOLED device with low brightness

No changes. I checked with other one plus pro device even that device is facing this issue. "ITS VISIBLE IN LOW BRIGHTNESS"

Yes, I could see the same in other amoled.
Was the same with my pixel 2 xl with brightness turned down low. I'm assuming this is normal? (i know it shouldn't be)
Ahh ok got ya. Well glad you found some consistency.
It IS normal on OLED...
