Hello. I just upgrade my software to version 8.1.0 automatically and I have a problem about screen colors and resolution. The colors are strongly expressed and also pictures are not clear. Also, in games everything is blurry. Can you help me?
Try with a factory reset.

I won't be able to help you but... Can you post a screenshot or two and state your phone model?
I believe this is the stupid sharpening filter that LG puts on their phones. Previously you could fix it by using a very low blue light filter (comfort view) but now doing that does no effect and the screen looks ugly. Not sure if LG will push another update for this (probably not) but if it bothers you too much, I recommend downgrading back to Nougat.

See this thread.
I already upgraded to 8.1 but because of oversharpening of screen display I decided to go back to 7.1 and turn on blue light filter to correct over sharpening. I don't think LG will release an update to fix this issue. I just can't stand this oversharpening eye strain
I did the same thing.
I will just hang on with Nougat until it doesn't support all my applications anymore, which will probably take a while (more than 1 year), given Android's version distribution... Or just buy a G6 which doesn't have the problem (as far as I could see) and has Oreo (and maybe it will get Pie). Or buy another similarly compact phone.

Hello, i'm from Colombia and my english is not that good.
But i'll try.
27th Dec 2012 i bough and HTC One X at&t from Amazon, got delivered by Jan12 Saturday 2013 about 15:00 hours, retrieved, unboxing bla bla bla, i was testing the device, i came with ICS 4.0.4, Sense 4 and RUU 2.20, everything was working fine, data, wifi, screen, sound, but, when i was about to try the LED Flash of the Camera (to find out if it has AF Assist Lamp, witch it hasn't) i found a very weird artifact
This is it, i took 2 photos to a paper on a tablet.
The left one <-- was taken with LED Flash On (NOT AUTO, ON) and the right one --> was taken with it off (OFF, NOT AUTO)
This is so frustrating, practically there is no way to take photos with flash, is not a hardware issue (i think cuz when i record a video and take a photo while recording with LED LIGHT ON, the photo is fine, there is no such artifact), another way was changing the auto whitebalance to fluorescent and the photo becomes a little decent, and i thoght that i can handlet it, but no, when on Instagram, Facebook Cam, Cymera, etc. There is no sense Cam interface to take Photos while recording a video, neither the auto white balance option to get rigde of the "sephie like effect" so, i decided to change the ROM just to try:
Tried Vyper XL 3.0 and 2.4 and was the same ****, so i decided to reflash the device back to stock with and RUU 2.20, right now it has OEM ROM with Bootloader relocked and no root. and is in the same that was when i got it.
So, the Q are:
Is there another person who has experience the same issue?
Is there a way to fix it? Since i think it is a software problem, maybe yes maybe not.
Thanks.
I was thinking about sending back to LA for Warranty but... It will cost me $74 and a month of waiting.
i searched on Google and here but found nothing.
UP (?)
I don't think there is anything to "fix" here, and the camera is basically working as intended. It looks like just a matter of taking a picture of a completely white frame combined with the flash, which is throwing off the white balance. I'm sure there a plenty of other color/light combinations that will similarly result in odd white balance results. Its just a computer algorithm that is trying to interpret the lighting conditions and guess the "best" white balance, and its not going to be correct all the time.
You've already found the workaround, which is to either turn off the flash, or change the white balance manually. Or you might be able to fix the color after the fact with the built-in editing feature or 3rd party apps. I certainly wouldn't suggest warranty service, and don't think it will fix the problem anyway.
Flash isn't recommended for macro/close range shots, anyway. You get unsightly reflections like the one in your example. Even aside from the "sepia" tone, your second (no flash) example just plain looks better in every way. So why even use the flash, unless you for some reason have a need to regularly take photos of documents in low light, requiring a flash?

Wtf? xd
I have also a Infuse 4G, 8 Mpx too, LED Flash, and the results with the Flash on, no matter if it's needed or not, are as it should be.
But this? here are two more examples, and i just took about 50 pictures, all with the LED On, and the sephie tone is everywhere, from a bathroom with zero light to outside, with sunlight, and even blocking the LED light with the finger.
This is so frustrating. I hope that is there a fix .
Another factor may be that the white balance by default is significantly "over-saturated", presumably by HTC to make colors more vivid and "pop" more. This could be why you are seeing this effect on this phone, when you don't on other phones or digital cameras.
But the latest photos you posted look pretty funky. Also, I've also tried to duplicate the effect by taking a picture of a printed page, and can't get the sepia tint. In fact, my photos actually look more white with the flash (more of a yellowish tint with flash off). These factors make me re-think my previous statement that it is working the way its supposed to.
Does the yellowish tint happen with subjects farther away too? Such as taking a picture of a person or landscape?
Defect with the camera? Maybe.
A "fix" aside from repair or exchange? Doubtful. The fact this issue persists across multiple ROMs suggests it may be a hardware problem.

Yes, no matter what, if the flash is On, the "sephia like effect" persist

I have tried Viper XL 2.4 and 3.0 but not with CM 10 or AOSP ROMs.

Couldn't hurt to try a AOSP-based ROM. ViperXL uses a different camera from stock 2.20 firmware, although its a newer version of the Sense camera.
Hello,
I just received my Oneplus One, directly updated it to 44S with OTA updates...
Unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP and SuperSU.
My issue is the capacitive buttons are very difficult to see in normal day, in house...
You can only see it at night...
Is there a way to fix this ?
Thank you
I have the same problem... It is not very bright
I think by design, it's just not very bright when used outdoors or in light area. At least on my oneplus that's the way I saw it as. I just kind of remembered the location and disabled the brightness of the buttons.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
No, mine is very low compared to pictures seen on the web...
It is not just by design.

Yes, I'm sure, I tried to set value myself with adb, max is 255, and it is very low...
Edit : Just took a picture with a LG G3 :
and, the LG see the button better than real, with the light of the room, it is quite hard to see buttons...
It's a known issue and hardware at fault. Use the onscreen buttons instead.
Hello folks,
i got this mobile 5 months and for now i got this big problem with my cam.
Everytime i shoot any image with light at backround and with HDR on i got many "pink" pixels. When i turn HDR off its better, but if i zoom the image at maximum level ( in photoshop ), i see "blurish" dots right there where are "pink" dots with HDR on.
I got the question: May i turn it back to RMA or its just a SW problem?
Bootloader : xxxxxBPLM
PDA: same
CSC: TMZ1BPI1
Baseband: BPHK
android: 6.0.1
kernel: [email protected]#1 64-bit
CAMERA: 12.2MP/SLSI_S5K2L1_FIMC_IS
I see that other people have some problems too, but they got it repaired by newer software update, but i dont see any updates for me just for now. Only the android nougat is coming maybe for a couple weeks in my country ( T-mobile CZ got every update with looooong delay )
Sorry about my bad english
In attachment is a zip with photo i shoot last month.
Common issue with HDR enabled, Samsung will RMA your phone for it but usually comes back with the same problem as it's a hardware fault

Oh no...
Today i contact helpline and they told me to send them pictures with pink dots. I did it and tomorrow they will contact me with next steps.
Is there any fix for it? Maybe another cam firmware? Anything else than sending it to RMA and get another with same symptoms?
Truly dissapointing, i spend lot of money to get better photos from cell phone and i got fast camera with supreme range with a bonus....pink dots...
Anybody whos got S7 at nougat? Maybe nougat help with this?

Some are better than others, mine only has 1-2 pink dots with HDR, none in normal mode
No fixes, just replacements, Nougat doesn't affect hardware problems

I got this only when i use HDR...in normal mode got no pink dots, but blemish dots at maximum zoom.
Samsung help line wrote me back to do factory reset...if that wont work i must go to nearest reseller to RMA.
I think that all CMOS senzors got this problems, but in DSLR is function to do some cleaning ( remapping bad pixels ) but in mobile camera i never see this function, so you all got this problems with camera? I dont know what to do...RMA it? Or not?
But many thanks for help!!!
Factory reset will not work, it is a hardware problem
RMA if you want, you might get one with less hot pixels, but might get one with worse

After "nougat" update are all hot pixels gone... No problem in HDR ON mode with zoom, no problem with HDR at brighter places. Everything work !
The camera takes great still shots, but even the smallest amount of movement results in terrible blur. Is this normal?
I just cleared the camera data do I'm shooting on default settings.
Here's a picture of my child simply smiling and jabbering to me. Is this normal?
Id say if I take 10 pictures of her, only 1 is clear (caught betwen normal bodily twitches and stuff)
With this camera like this it'd be near impossible taking pictures of my dog unless it was sleeping. Is this your experience as well?
Are their pro settings that make it better?
Yes because no OIS ?
normal after emui 5 terrible optimization & shutter lag...emui 4.1 didn't have this shutter lag problem
our terrible sluggish processor don't even support google cam which has zero shutter lag

yeah the EMUI 5.0 sucks in this regard, at-least and strange part is, Huawei was not even aware of this unless this was reported to them in recent fan meet in India. Hope we get fix soon for this.

I hope at least they fix it now after reporting in fan meet... No word upto now is disappointing... Not even a single update in past 2 months after b340?? added to this, wapp notification lag... It made me put wapp in deep sleep using greenify & open it once in a day & sync messages when i don't/can't use phone for 10 minutes...
I knew some people from our group that uses Huawei GR5 2017 (Honor 6x) and they have observed that the quality of the front camera (in photos and videos) are a bit grainy (or maybe too bright to be true). Build number is on B370. Anyone experienced this? Or any workaround? Thanks.

Disable the beauty mode and it should be bit better. This over exposed thing has been notified to honor officials and they said they will inform their R&D to resolve this
The issue was not limited to the images taken using the front camera. It includes the video quality of the front camera - which doesn't have a Beauty mode.
They received an update just now, but it is just limited to security patches and voLTE and they've advised me that there was no fix on the camera that came with it.
Hello ever since I updated to B370, the star track mode is not working for me anymore. Everytime i try to capture, it will all became white (overexposed). It used to be good when I was in B360. What could have happen? Or what could i do to fix it?

Hello thanks for the reply. I'll try it later
Anyone else notice this? I did find a small thread on Samsung.com so not sure if its a hardware issue or if all of them have it. - https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...t-flickering-on-video-recordings/td-p/2209967
Seems to only do it at 60fps options 1080p60 and 4K60.
Except its just not flash light related or LED light related. It'll do it outside as well Highly annoying!
I tested it and don't have this issue.

Its not a 100% all the time issue. Its under certain lighting specific lighting conditons. Usually lower light for me
for low light always use auto fps. it was tested to show its actually better and brighter and clearer

Last year on the 12 Pro Max Auto FPS ruined a video that couldnt be remade. It for some reason switched despite being in the bright outside, on top of that it recorded 24fps and made the clip choppy. Not saying samsung would do this but its not worth the risk keeping that enabled.
But the weird flickering has happened with it being bright outside as well

something doesn't seem to be syncing. i would say the flickering is due to hardware more than software. but yea i only switch on auto fps in low light and its been impressive. i forget where but there's a video of the s22u side by side and auto fps was much more preferable since it could slow down frames meaning it would be brighter with less artificial noise reduction
Looks like a PWM frequency issue depending on the brightness of the (flash LED).
Literally just made a thread about this. The exact same problem. Glad to see i'm not the only one, because I wasn't able to find any other person experiencing this. You can see my example videos here:
Is it normal that my camera flickers on videos when the lighting level changes ? Does it happen on you too ?
It's not happening because of the lamps above, it happens on natural lighting too. It happens when camera focuses to a new area where the lighting level is different. Is this a defect, or is it the same for everyone ? Here are 2 example videos...

Hope it's not a hardware problem and they fix it with an update
I'm so happy to say that May update I just received (S908EXXU2AVDA) fixed this problem. Can you check if it's fixed for you too ? @hyelton I tried every specific condition that it flickered before and it doesn't flicker anymore, made me happy that it wasn't a hardware problem and they were aware of the issue.

I'll post here if it ever gets fixed. Yeah I'm sure it's just people don't notice it.
Example
I can hand my phone to my mom and set it to 60hz. And low power mode. She will think it's crazy fast and no lag. When it most certainly is not LOL
She does now find her old S10 slow after using a S21 FE the past few weeks.
