[Q] Mango - Region and Carrier apps? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
Used the leaked method for non-developer devices to update to Mango.
No huge bugs so far.... missing out on Twitter integration though!
One thing I've encountered is that I can't access Carrier (Telstra) or Manufacturer (HTC) apps on my HTC Mozart.
Upon trying to update either the 'Foxtel' (running stock RTM app; insists on Marketplace update before it'll work) or 'TelstraOne' (crashes) apps, Marketplace gives me error 80320011. Closing and restarting, or rebooting doesn't help. Same error with or without a SIM card installed.
Strangely, I also get this message (attached)... and I was wondering if the 'not available in your region' error was new to Mango? Or if anyone else has had this problem and knows of a fix.

Yeah, I can access the carrier or manufacturer stores. It has the wrong carrier store for some reason even though it still get the correct branding on boot. I have no idea why the manufacturer store isn't working though.
The error I get is "We're sorry, but we can't complete your request and we aren't sure why." The error code is: 805a0194

[Q] Help with voice search error message.

I have been having an issue with my Mytouch 3g voice search. I have tried many roms on the phone, and ever since I tried an eclair rom, I have this error message. It comes up after a voice search that has local results for example if I say "T-mobile" it comes up with the results but I the scrolling is patchy. Then comes the message,

Google has disabled use of the
Maps API for this application.
The client id provided is not
valid for this site.

I have tried doing multiple wipes, and different roms. I recently went back to the stock OTA 1.6 so that I could take it into the store and it still does it.
I have insurance on the phone and they could send me a new one, but I would rather fix it. The smartphone help guy at tmobile said a 2.2 update would be coming soon that might fix it.
Anybody know what I should do?

[Q] "Delivery Report" option not listed in message settings

I have a Samsung Captivate running original Froyo but I think this issue is related to Android in general.
My phone in unlocked and I'm using it in Brazil, naturally not with AT&T.
No unofficial software is installed.
My issue is I don't have the "delivery report" option in message settings list, so I cannot set the phone to receive delivery reports when I send messages. This happens for SMS and MMS messages.
When I got this phone I kept the same simcard (line, plan, services and carrier). In my previous cell phone, it had this option which was set to enabled and used to work fine.
To re-check, I recently put my simcard in another phone and the option is there and works fine. So, the issue seems to be on the phone.
I've already tried Samsung support but it is completley useless!
I have already tried handcent, but delivery reports don't work very well.
I saw in XDA that there is a solution for Windows Mobile phones that consists in changing a value in the registry. Is there something similar for Android?
If not, is this related to the carrier or the phone/system ?

Try custom roms, im using a custom rom from http://romkitchen.org/sgs on my i9000 and i have an option for delivery reports in the menu.
custom roms don't support quickoffice, adobe air, adobe reader and bunch of other stuff.. so what the hell is going on with these idiots? can't they make a good original ROM? the original update doesn't even give the new type of screen unlocking feature and bottom bar.. though it gives some uglyass icons in settings-menu..
just hate them!

[Q] Marketplace c101a247 error?

Hi all,
So ever since I've had my phone I've had problems with the marketplace.
Yesterday I managed to get my Mozart to Mango 7720 unlocked and now it's starting to bother me.
Previously I use to get a message saying marketplace is not available in my country/region (I live in South Africa) now since the Mango update I can browse fine but when I try update or install an application I don't have I get the c101a247 error. Been happening since last night.
IE cookies are enabled, makes no difference whether the GPS is active or not and no difference whether I use WiFi or my cellular data connection I get the same error.
Anyone know why I'm getting this error and how to get it fixed so I can use the marketplace?

Go to mobile phone settings and under region + language put united states and try to install the app.
Also try to login and logout from zune.net from your computer.

Hi, I had same problem on my HTC Trophy with NoDo. Creating a new Windows Live account and replacing the primary one with it solved the problem. (Of course I've chosen United States as my location when creating the account). Unfortunately to change your primary WL account you need to restore to factory defaults.
I've started my experience with WP7 just yesterday and I am a noob, nut I hope this will help you as well.

So quite a thread revival...
I would like to avoid having to factory reset my phone, but think I may need to - so will probably get a new rom and just flash it as I am on an oold Mango ROM.
I am still having the above issue, was getting the .xaps and then just deploying them but now that they are all encrypted I can no longer do that and my marketplace still does not work.
It is going to be really annoying having to scrap my original Windows Live account I have had since around 2006/2007 just because of this - although if its the only way I guess I will have to. Just cannot use MSN on my phone then (I ain't re-adding all my contacts).
Any ideas before I reflash my phone and create a new Windows Live account?

[Q] zune isn't notifying me about app updates

Zune isn't notifying me about new updates for games or apps, unless i have at least 20-30 updates at once, which is very rare. And i know that there are updates for different apps if i enter the app in the marketplace, go back, and enter again.
How can i force it to show me available updates when i connect it to the computer?

Interesting, i don't think i have ever left mine on zune long enough for a notification. What about in the martketplace on your phone? I usually update it from my phone. I have noticed though wpcentral.com gets updated before i do by about 1 day. I will see them talk about and review an app update then the next day i get it. (or if i go to the app in the marketplace and refresh sometimes)
Both the phone and zune notify me only when i have 20-30 app updates...is it because i live in romania and i chose UK marketplace? (didn't know what country to choose because romania isn't listed). Also my phone doesn't have attentive phone (it isn't in the marketplace anymore) and HTC support said there will be an update for HTC in a couple a days but i highly doubt that because he said at some point "HTC isn't an app maker"
So...any solutions to my problems?
i faced a similar problem when my phone was developer unlocked. The marketplace on the phone NEVER showed me any updates. I had to go to the app page in the marketplace to see if an update was there. Strange yet true
Most likely then it is because of the location. Romania i don't think is still listed in the marketplace. I'm betting somehow it ignores your setting and trys to use your location 1st.
What o/s version you on? mango yet? or above?
7.1.8107 of course. developer unlocked via student, but not interop-unlocked.
There must be a way to force checking for updates...it's been 2 weeks since i had my last official app update notification

[Q] Brainstorming - Getting Wallet2.apk working in Canada/Other international

Does anyone know if this is possible yet?
Tap&Pay are ready in Android 4.4, but if I got to play.google.com and try to get the APK it says it isn't compatible for any of my phones (big surprise) and if I try to sideload it, it first asks if I would like to install of the existing application (even though I don't see one) then if I click install it says "App not installed". (I am rooted just as an FYI)
lastly, www.google.ca/wallet directs me to a website that implies that Wallet IS available in Canada, and tells me to download the app from the play store, but then again, I try and it says My device is not compatible (Rogers Wireless LGE Nexus 5)
Is there something in my build.prop file that is preventing the install? When I look it is just listed as hammerhead and Nexus 5, I don't see anything that would prevent it from working, other then carrier being "unknown"

Did you ever figure this out? A friend of mine said he had no problem installing wallet and adding a card, however I have been unable to get around the location restriction when opening the wallet app...
Wallet comes pre-installed but it's disabled (frozen) if you're outside the US when Android starts up. You can see it in Titanium Backup and defrost it but when you start it the app will say it's not available in your region and close. The message makes reference to updating your Google home address so it might not be checking location with the phone anymore. I tried revoking Wallet's location access with APP Ops and it worked but still gives me an error.
