"a v cast apps update is required to browse and download apps."
it then gives me a link to download. whats this about?
I would probably say that since Verizon has their own little "app" store preinstalled on our phones, this is just to update it

The response to software update has now changed. I no longer get the message about failed authentication it now just says connection failed. Perhaps that means something is coming soon??? (One can hope!).
Hey for me the message changes back and forth. From what I have heard gingerbread may be coming "soon". But no word on when soon is. LOL

There is a post on the TMO forum that says someone was told at a TMO store that they couldn't exchange their phone yesterday (the system wouldn't let the employee process the exchange) because a new software version was coming out and only after the new software came out if they had the same problem could they exchange the phone. Take that with a grain of salt...
I'd like to direct you to Tmonews, but I cant post links at all apparently. There is a story on the front page that has a post from T-Mobile stating it won't be a long wait.
I can tell you I have seen it and used it, but no info on date yet. They are still in testing as of today.
Oh and by the way that exchange line is BS, they just didn't to do it. They can't tell you to wait until there is an update, it could be a month away.
I just got home from my local ATT Corp store and the darndest thing happened while I was there.
The rep that was helping me happened to have an Inspire and was checkin mine out sayin how much he liked the screens(LP) and how fast it was. He then opened the app drawer to run speed test.net never noticing Super User while in there. He commented again about how smooth it ran and then noticed the lack of ads on the speed test app.
Once that was done he went to settings to check something else and immediately noticed the difference in appearance. Once he got to About Phone he checked the version and saw 2.3.4 and grabbed his to see what it said.
At this point I stated that it is rooted and asked if he'd like me to root his. He said he'd JB'ed an old iPhail but was scared to do the Inspire because of the steps involved. I gave him my bidness card, let him know that I'd be happy to help and left.
Maybe I'm easily entertained, but I thought it was too funny that an ATT rep wants a customer to root their device.

Yes I had that at bestbuy. I bought my case and he pulled his out bragging about it. So I ignored it and when I bought the case,I was attempting to put it on. He saw my locksceen at the time and noticed it was different. He asked what I did and told him. I was running cm7 with Rover theme. I told him to check out xda. Idk what ever happened to him.

Hell, I've been doing this since I parted ways with AT&T. Happened right before unemployment kicked in, so I've been rooting and jailbreaking for $50 per phone in my spare time while I looked for work. My last customer was an AT&T employee.
Hahaha, this is EPIC!! When I had my HD2 from T-MO on AT&T, it happened to me at least 3 times when going into the stores (both AT&T and RadioShack) to reset my voicemail by using google voice. The look on their faces was just right to snap a picture and upload it to FB or the such.

Looks like a spam message that comes from some apps that people download from unsecure places. Not sure how to get rid of it to be honest. May have to remove some of the apps that you installed around that time but that may not work as they now have your number.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I will look at changing my number if a wipe doesn't work, because I do recall some ads being pushed onto my phone some months ago.

I've been waiting for this device. But with it supposedly coming soon, they seem to be non-existent.
First At&t told me it was coming on the 12th. I went to an At&t store on the 11th, just hoping to check out a display device. They didn't have one., and had no idea when it was coming. It also wasnt being marketed anywhere in the store.. No mention of it on displays.
Went to another At&t store the next day. Same thing. If a phone is supposedly releasing in a day or two. Wouldnt at the very least be a coming soon display or device.
Today I went to Best Buy since they have a little samsung store in mine. I couldnt find any mentions of it. When I asked about seeing a display device, he said they had one up for a day and took it down. No reason as to why they removed it or when it was going to be on sale now..
Even the website date has changed. Now says in stores tomorrow. Yet I've been to 4 At&t stores and none of them seem to know this, have a display device, or shown anywhere.
Is anyone else having similar experiences?

Jusy got Done Ordering Mine had to call , would not let me do it online using jump , THe Phone Actually Exists and I should receive mine Monday Overnight shipping 24$ + TAx 52$......and now after 2 mnths of Anticipation and receipt printed out ........I'm outta here finally gonna Grab Some sleep......................

Kinda confusing.
I am having similar experiences...
I've called about five different ATT company stores in my area and all of them (as of yesterday) were stating that the Note Edge wouldn't be available in stores until Monday or Tuesday of next week. And to add on that, they state that it is "selected stores" and that they're not sure.
I'm gonna call some stores later today. I'm hoping that it does get delivered sometime today so I can pick one up. If I do get lucky, I'll be sure to add to this thread.
Alright guys I just want to rant a little as I am upset. BestBuy totally screwed my preorder up.
I preorder a black s7 edge from BestBuy on Feb 23rd. Expected release date of March 11th and so forth. Then March 1st I see that some are already getting there packages (I did the in store pickup - my first mistake) Getting a little inpatient I decided to check my order and it says expected release and pick up date as March 7th. Stoked I waited until today and got a pick up email saying it was time (YES!!!!)
Go into the store today and they give me the Gear VR and the SD Card that comes when you preorder from bestbuy... but no phone... I asked the girl is that everything? And shes like let me check and notices that its missing. She asked the guy standing next to hear and they went over the preorder pick up sheet that they had, as I started to get worried that they messed up. All I could see was every other persons preorder s7 in the back - taunting me.
They eventually said that they didn't have my order yet (I mean I only preordered on the first day...) and that it should come in later today. I waited around and then was fed up and ended up just leaving. I called BB at they're phone to check about an hour later... They dont expect my order until the 11th. So everyone else who preordered can pick it up today... while I wait until Friday. Pretty upset about it.
Ended up calling the store and asked if they were in stock and they said Yes they had 2 more and I'm like you got to be kidding me, I cancel my preorder and go back to the store to just purchase it there... To bad they ended up running out of stock before I got there.
Thank you bestbuy for ruining my release day... I now have to wait for them to come back into stock before I can get anything

I'm picking mine up today at bestbuys and now concerned.
That sucks, sorry for you and I'll hope you'll get it soon still! Next time, maybe keep your order just in case till you have the device in hand before canceling it :/

I just picked mine up but they screwed up on what I ordered.. They were trying to give me an Galaxy S7 instead of the edge. It even had my name on it! Luckily they had extras on the edge.

Yeah just wasnt thinking, I shouldnt have cancelled but I thought no one would go and buy the 2 left by the time I got there :crying:
I feel for you, but the original date quoted to you was 11 march, you canceled HOPING to get it earlier, and it didn't work. Honestly I am not impressed with Best Buy for this, but you can't blame them for your lack of phone right now.

Don't know how best buy works but yeah that blows, personally before cancelling my pre order I would have called the store reserved a phone an paid a deposit maybe and said I was gonna come pick it up within the next hour. Once I'd got the phone from the store then I would of cancelled my pre order.
Maybe redo pre order and keep checking with the store if they have stock, if so do the above.
On a side note since you cancelled the original pre order did you have to give the gear vr back?
I thought the same thing happened to me. My mom had to pick it up because it is on her verizon account. I got the email this morning saying it was ready so my mom got off work to go get it. When she got there they said I wasnt on the list so it was not ready and sent her away. So I called them and told them I got an email saying it was ready, so they went and looked again and ended up finding it. So now she has to make another trip to go pick it up.

In general best buy screws up a lot. I dealt with tmobile because I'm on jod. But they screwed up in the store by my house with my mom's note 5. I was telling her what not to do with the s pen and their employee actually showed her and broke her son pen and refused to do anything but replace the phone after their employees screwed up.

What exactly did you expect them to do, fire the employee? If they replaced the device they did what they should have, anything they do to the employee should not be done in front of customers.

Sorry to hear you had to go through all that.
I pre-ordered from Best Buy and my only complains was that their pickup line is SO SLOW.
I got an email that my S7 Edge was ready (my wife's wasn't). We went to the store to pick it up and I noticed the box only said S7 on it. I asked and they confirmed it was a vanilla S7. I told them I ordered an Edge and apparently someone had miskeyed the inventory and didn't see that I ordered an Edge. They said that while they had gotten in plenty of S7s in, they hadn't gotten any Edges yet. Yeah, it sucked as we would have at last liked to have one since my wife's S5 battery can barely hold a charge. But considering it wasn't even expected to be in until Friday? No big deal. They apologized but really, what more can they do but that? It's not like they had something they could give me right then. Mistakes happen.
Yeah it sucks it wasn't there, but it is it really worth getting all upset and spun up over? It's not like you're using a flip phone or you're going hungry. And you should have it by the end of the week - when it was supposed to ship anyway. It's not like you're not going to get it. You just aren't getting it as early as you hoped.
First world problems, man. Relax and be happy.
