Any games that offer real-time iOs/Android multiplayer? - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

Having one Android tablet and one ipad in the house makes gaming really boring. Are there any multiplayer games that allows for cross-platform action between the two os'? I'm not talking OpenFeint, I mean simultanious, real-time, multiplayer.

I've been wanting to check out Order & Chaos from Gameloft to see if it's cross-platform. The only app I've actually done cross-platform "gaming" with is Words With Friends. I can play simultaneously with my friend's iPod Touch/iPhone, but this is with my Nexus S. I haven't seen any cross-platform tablet gaming.. except MAYBE Order and Chaos.

Dungeon Defenders, Asphalt 6 (may not let you log in to Gameloft Live after 3.1 update???), Guerilla Bob but I think it's local network only. If Gun Bros would ever get the online update you could add it to the list. Also Pocket Legends works great and the devs have a new games coming out in the next couple weeks with a space theme. Skies of Glory worked on phones but it crashes on tablet.

Reckless racing and raging thunder to the list

Homerun battle

Pool break pro

Damn, this is looking dismal
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk

I think Dungeon Defenders supports cross platform for iOS and Android. When it is released on Xbox360, PS3, and PC, it will supposedly allow cross platform between all systems.

Pocket legends and words with friends

I know it has been on the list a few times already, but pocket legends. I play that on my phone (also worked on my acer iconia a500) and my friend plays it on his iphone when we are both working. Excellent way to waist time.

While I haven't got my TF101 yet, I do play X-Plane and Starfront: Collision crossplatform with my brother, he has an iPhone 4 and I use my Galaxy Tab 7". Most Gameloft games that support multiplayer will work, as long as both versions match (eg. my bro and I had to make sure we both had v1.0.6 of SF:C but as long as both are on latest should be fine).

It is? Cross platform gaming doesn't really exist too much anywhere. I think this list is a great start to that happening more and more.

guerrilla bob THD! you can play it on your android device and fight against ios, windows and osx

I know this is old, but I'm very interested in it
Other than the MMO's (like the Legend series by Spacetime Studios) and Whatever With Friends, I found some great free games with cross-platform multiplayer support:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.angrymobgames.muffinknightfree&hl=en
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/muffin-knight-free/id465463024?mt=8
http://www.androidgamesroom.com/stand-alone-games/81655.htm (it was free, but somehow removed from Google Play) [clean according to VirusTotal and NetQin Online Virus Scan]
https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/toss-the-ball/id441640955?mt=8
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.namcobandaigames.riseofglory&hl=en
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sky-gamblers-rise-glory-lite/id459591549?mt=8
http://clay.io/ (includes some multiplayer games accessible to anyone with a HTML5 browser)
Thanks to everyone that already posted, going to look through them all.

[Q] Animal Crossing on the Xperia Play

Is anyone here a fan of the Animal Crossing series from Nintendo? I definitely am and I started trying to figure out if there was a way to play one of these games on my Xperia Play. After doing a little research, I discovered that the original Animal Crossing started off as Animal Forest, a Nintendo 64 game released only in Japan in 2001. In 2002 it got ported to the Gamecube and released for all regions. I have a rom of the Nintendo 64 version that had been patched for English and actually got it to load in N64oid! Unfortunately, it crashed when K.K. told me to set the game clock. Bummer! I wonder if there are any patched versions floating around that can get past this first road block, or if there is some way to set the clock in N64oid that I can't seem to find.
Is anyone else interested in playing Animal Forest/Crossing on their phone?
Don't speak of roms. You will be killed.
Yeah I defiantly would! Loved that game!
N64oid is on the SlideMe market now for android, and is being updated soon with very high compatibility.
Lets hope that includes Animal Forest. I tried running Animal Crossing on the DS emulator earlier but it was so slow that it was unplayable. It would be nice if Nintendo and other developers would recognize the potential of the Play and create their own android stores where they could release some of their older titles that could easily be optimized for the Play. I would gladly pay $10 for a perfect port of Animal Crossing.

No, not really. What I'm saying is that developers are missing a major opportunity by not releasing android-friendly ports of successful games they've created in the past. The nostalgia factor alone would drive the majority of sales.
The idea that Nintendo would voluntarily share revenue from any of their ip's with anyone is, well... Let's just say it will be a cold day in Hell.

Sounds to me like the emulator doesn't support the real time clock, necessary to emulate animal crossing...
Here is more info the real time clock, sounds like Animal Forest is the only game on the N64 to use the clock...

I wonder if this RTC patch only pertains to specific emulators. Worst case scenario, I think I could live with setting the clock whenever I played.

the device is a few months old mate, just wait and the big names will come, you will never get nintendo games on the play but rumor is that sega plans to bring alot of retro games to android, word is, it was sega that got all the emulators taken off the market
Sega is not unfriendly towards emulation. They hired Steve Snake, one of the guys behind one of the most popular Genesis emulators for PC, to emulate some of their classics for PC release in the past. Doesn't mean they weren't the reason the emulators got taken down, but just something I wanted to point out.

I used the japanese version of rom and got past the initial train ride but then crashed at entering village. N64oid should be getting that engine update anytime now. This is also my# 1 game for n64oid. Just a note, you can swap gamesaves between english version and japanes by changing gamesave file the same as the rom of language choice.

I just tried the Japanese version and got the exact same result. Man, this sucks. How cool would it be to play this game? Pulling weeds, finding classic Nintendo games...

anyone tried this on v2.0 of N64oid?
I've done the same. N64 looked playable but when I got to that dog it asked me to set the time. So I pushed x or o something a bunch of times.. and it worked. But when I got on the train the game looked terrible and it wasn't showing text input/responses and the textures were spazing out and changing colors. I'm sticking to harvest moon on my snes emulator.

[Q] RPG Games for Honeycomb

Anyone know any good final fantasy type RPGs that work on honeycomb? There is one called Spectral Souls I found in the market but it looks to be in japanese. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have spectral souls, and it's not in japanese:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.hyperdevbox.spectralsouls
Also- Check out BattleHeart. It's much less involved than Final Fantasy, and not turn-based, but it's ton's of fun:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.KelliNoda.Battleheart
I suggest you use various emulators for android to play RPG's such as final fantasy. Also as said before battleheart is a decent one, although imo its not really Final Fantasy like.
Like you I've been keeping my eye out for some good RPG's for Honeycomb and haven't found much yet.
Emulators and some of the older ones are awesome but the emulators don't make use of a touch screen (apart from a emulated d-pad) and its the same problem with Spectal souls... I mean they go so far to get a huge tablet RPG but then don't make it fully touch?! You use emulated buttons to navigate around (apart from turning the camera! WOO!)
Battlehearts is pretty cool but a bit simple - awww can't win with me it seems
Would like souls to make use of a full touch screen (i will buy it then) or waiting for something new to come around.

I've been scouring looking for a nice android rpg but find myself in the same situation.
I'll be experimenting with the ps3 controller hooked up to the dock soon and will likely play psone rpgs that I never got around to playing years ago.
I got about 10 hours of enjoyment from battleheart, it was fun.
There's actually not many games at all optimized for honeycomb, but hopefully soon.
Been itching to try Souls but haven't succumbed to the temptation to drop the money for it.

Stick cricket and tennis are spot on!
Granny Smith is rather good. Im also playing Virtua Tennis which is decent
Although this is a great note, I am really pissed that some of the games are really pixelated and unclear I wish there was a way we could make display or resolution smaller
for games
To name about 1/2 of the games I have installed...
Angry Birds - love it on 10" of screen
aTilt 3D Labyrinth - Reminds of the real ones I had as a kid. lol, I never could make it to the end though back then!
3D Bowling - better bowling on a tablet than I am IRL If I only had an S-Pen to guide my aim in real bowling.
Crystal Defenders - life long Final Fantasy fan...
Dark Meadow - THIS perhaps is the most fun I've had on a game for a tablet.
Dead Trigger - Really is amazing what a tablet can do and I play with a PS3 controller
Eve of The Genesis - Had gotten this originally for my Epic4G but never played it. Started playing it on my tablet!
Fruit Ninja - Slicing fruit with an stylus sword! :victory:
NFS Hot Pursuit - not as good as the real game on my computer, but still looks good on the tablet.
Mass Effect Infiltrator - it was 25 cents, how could I say no? Looks good, plays well.
Monopoly - forget setting up the real board, this is the future right here!
Pac Man Championship - Sort of reminds me of the pac man arcade tables from my childhood. S-Pac-Man!
Peggle - S-Peggle!
Pinball Pro - not much to say here. it's pinball.
Pool Master - with realistic s-cue!
Quell Reflect - was free on Amazon. Puzzle game that's easy to play with the s-pen
Scrabble - had it since my Epic4G. Still works.
Shadowgun - It was free, compliments of my Galaxy SIII so I loaded it on to my tablet. Much better than playing it on the phone!
Sonic 4 Ep2 - It was free on the Samsung store. Retro gaming... Not my favorite, but it looks good graphically!
Symphony of Eternity - old school RPG that like EotG, looks good and plays decently.
Temple Run - I've heard of other devices getting lag playing this. It's lagless on the note. Decent repetitve time burner.
TurboFly - Had a pay for version for 2 years still works. There's a full free version on the Samsung store. Wipeout/FZero clone. Worth getting.
Virtua Tennis - It was free on the Samsung store. Not really a tennis fan, but still worth grabbing imo.
WIsh my gameloft games worked on the tablet, but they don't, and they refuse to assist me, so I don't buy from them anymore. Would be another 13 games I'd have to list.
some of mine:
bad piggie
angry birds space
agent dash
age of zombies
air attack hd
cytus (best music game ever!)
dead space
mass effect
eternity warriors 2
cut the rope experiments
fantasy defend
fifa12
Frontline commando
GTA3
hot persuit
judge dredd (best free 3rd person shooting game for me)
max payne
minecraft
niva
riptide
seven stars 3d
to-fu hd
Nova 3, n64oid, asphalt because it was .25c, then the basic chess, checkers, glow hockey, ping pong...
The first two are awesome and asphalt was kinda disappointing

World of Goo
ME Infiltrator
Tile Storm HD
JetPack Joyride: This requires special mention so I'll create a separate thread for this

lol, I've probably used my Note 10.1 (that I got in late August) for gaming more than I used my PSP that I got in 2007. Since I paired up PS3 controller, it's so much more fun to play games like Dead Trigger. Come to think of it, with the controller, and the adapter for HDMI out... Hmm. Sixaxis kicks ass! Although I have issues with Dead Trigger and GTA. If someone have a flawless touch profile for DT I'd appreciate it, the only thing wrong with GTA is that if I press L2 or R2 the controller no longer works, could be bug but other than that Everything works flawlessly.

lol, yep it all works, Not something one expects since we're all so used to games having only touch controls. Seeing they can make native controls... Doesn't that make you wish they did that more often? xD
I just recently got Shadowgun, but really haven't played it, and I never did check if there are native controls... It's also by Madfinger though, so I'm guessing there probably are. Need more games with native controller settings!
Not sure how much if a difference it makes (I've run it on both and haven't seen any) , but if you're rooted, you can also run a little tweak to up the graphic settings from HIGH to ULTRA. I don't think I've seen any difference, but figured I'd mention it.

[APP][2.3+] SmartGear for Android nearly ready...

I created SmartGear for WinCE a long time ago and have recently been working on an Android version. I'm nearly ready to release it to the market. A few more bug fixes and I'll post a free version. It supports the following systems:
GameBoy / GameBoy Color
GameGear / Sega Master System
NES
Genesis
TurboGrafx-16
Coin-op (a few titles such as some CPS1 games)
It currently supports direct connection (no other driver/software needed) to the following bluetooth wireless game controllers: Zeemote, iControlPad, SteelSeries Free, MOGA, and BGP-100. If you know of another "non-HID / proprietary" bluetooth gamepad that needs support, let me know and I'll add it.
Please send me requests for coin-op titles you would like me to add. This is my own code (not MAME), so I may not be able to add all of the games you want. I've written code to support about 320 titles and need to modify it to work in my Android project. So far I have 41 working. If anyone would like to beta test it, please let me know.

Things are coming together nicely. If all goes well I will have it in the market by the end of November.
I have the following idea for monetizing the app. Please voice your opinions if you think this is reasonable. I will use admob and have a small banner ad on the main menu page (not visible while you're playing a game). I will also have an in-app purchase option ($1.99?) to disable the ads. This seems like the least annoying way to do it.

Killer Instinct is not likely to happen due to it using 2 CPU's that I haven't yet emulated.
Marvel vs Capcom is more probable. I've got CPS1 emulation working and CPS2 isn't that different (except for a security feature I think).

If the revenue is sufficient from this, then I'll be able to add more games and systems. Right now I have a full time job and can't dedicate hundreds of hours a month to working on new emulators. I've got about 320 coin-op titles working on my PC version and am slowly refactoring the code to work on Android. So far I've got about 50 titles working. I'm going to use your feedback and my own preferences for deciding which games to emulate. I haven't tackled the issue of sound sample files. I support them, but I need to create a system for allowing users to download and use them with my emulator.

I'm trying to get my SNES emulator working properly which is difficult enough. PSX and N64 are very unlikely. This code is all written by me, not stolen from public domain projects. I was thinking of adding a TRS-80 Coco emulator, MSX, AtariST and maybe Amiga. Everyone can vote on which of those systems is more important (and more coin-op titles).
I've finally gotten the artwork ready and only a few more bugs to fix. I might even get it on the market by tomorrow if I get time today.

Usually when I wanna look for good/cool new apps or games I go on the Google Play store website on my home PC and use the various search functions on the Play site and can sit there for like a hour just looking at apps and reading reviews/descriptions hahaa.

Anyone recommend some good games for serious gaming? I mostly play console games, but I'm wanting to take advantage of the awesome new hardware in my pocket with some good games. I don't mean things like Angry Birds and Temple Run and Fruit Ninja. Any advice?

Try Bladeslinger. Just FYI...some in game content requires purchase if you want to advance faster.

Seems to be the way with everything anymore, doesn't it?
Just tell me this: Can I still advance, albeit slowly, without purchasing things? I hate those games where you get so far and you realize that you have no hope without dropping cash.

Battleheart like above poster mentioned is a pretty fun game - you can squeeze a bit of fun out of that one for sure. But it would look at Heroes of Order and Chaos, definitely a very competitive and challenging game. Basically its the phone version of DoTA, LoL, and HoN.

Is a really fun game. Kinda reminds me of Morrowind to an extent.

hands down one of the many games I can play for hours on by. Got it on all my devices to transfer gold and items.
Day 45. I'm still playing this.
Here's a youtube vid of the game:
If all the Modern Combat or NOVA games were compatible with the S4 I would suggest those, I have really enjoyed their campaigns. Unfortunately only NOVA 3 and Modern Combat 3/4 are compatible -_-

+1 on Bards Tale, definitely one of the best games ever on Android. It's one of the few games that's actually a full fletched game and not just something you play for five minutes on the toilet lol.

That would be pretty awesome if I played PC games, but I don't have any PC capable of keeping up with today's games.
Order and Chaos Online - WoW style MMORPG (Online Only)
Modern Combat 4 - Call of Duty Style FPS (Single Player Campaign/Online)
N.O.V.A 3 - Halo Style FPS (Single Player Campaign/Online)
Blitz Brigade - TF2/Battlefield Hybrid (Single Player/Online)
Battle Bears Royale Gold - TF2 Style FPS (Online Only)
Dungeon Hunter 4 - Diablo Style Hack and Slash RPG (Single Player and Multiplayer)
Heroes of Order & Chaos - LoL, DOTA style MOBA (Single Player or Online)
Critical Missions: SWAT - Counter Strike Clone for Mobile (Single Player or Online)
GTA Vice City or Gangstar Series for GTA style gameplay (Single Player)
Shadowgun/Shadowgun: Deadzone - Gears of War style third person shooter (Shadowgun = Single Player, Deadzone = Online)
Survivalcraft or Minecraft Pocket Edition - Minecraft style Sandbox (Single Player or Online)
Real Racing 3 - (Single Player or Online)
Dead Space - Scary Third person shooter similar to the PC versions. (Single Player)
Theres a few others like Need for Speed, Call of Duty Zombies, etc. You just gotta look for what you are interested in. On decent phones or tablets most of these games have pretty impressive graphics as well.

I loaded every single version lol. Its not so hard. Spoof your S4 to a different device model so that the android store thinks its such, and then it will let you install applications for those devices. Lets you also get tablet versions of apps and also those really old ones that they are aging out of the market.
