[APP] TexTab by forum member howettl - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

Not sure if this link has been posted before. It seems to work fairly well and it's free.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133277
Extract from howettl's original post:
TexTab is an SMS app for Android tablets. It allows you to connect your Android 2.1+ tablet to your Android 2.1+ phone over Bluetooth and send/receive SMS messages on your tablet as if you were sending them from your phone. I've been working on this app for some time now and I feel that it is ready for public beta testing. I encourage everybody to download and install the app on both your phone and tablet, and please provide feedback here.
App Features: - Honeycomb optimized, though not required - Push menu button to connect devices via bluetooth, with option to select a device to automatically connect to in settings - Conversation threads use your Google contact information to display contact info - Widget with button to enable/disable service, and displays connection information.

edit.... after working well initially I'm now having problems connecting (an issue that the dev is aware of). Hopefully this problem will be fixed soon because the app looks promising.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App

ooh will try tonight i was looking for something like this last night..

Working on my transformer.. with desire HD... wifi option would be better though as wifi always on with both devices
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk

Workjng so far with CM7 Nexus 1 and TF.
I can send message from TF but doesn't seems to get them on the TF .
Edit: App force closed with incoming message, that's why i don't get incoming on the tf.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk

installed fine, would pair with my inspire 4g but won't connect fully awesome idea, hard to inplement with every phone I imagine. I'm currently running a cynogenmod rom but may try this later with another rom.

Working silky smooth on my TF and my XT720 2.2

Couldn't find a way to close the program stayed active. Is there a way to logout without going to applications and stopping it. Oh and the desire HD is running cm 7 latest build

If you use the widget, there's a button to turn it on and off

Running this with my Galaxy S 4g. A bit of connection issues, but I already like it more than syncsms since there is no dropbox to deal with.

PDAnet tablet!!!

pdanet guy has released an app to the marlet that lets you access the web from your gtablet via bluetooth through your phone. I tried on my gtablet and works as advertised. Note this is a web proxy solution so not all apps work, but browser/http based stuff should be fine.
Does you phone have to be an android phone?
Seems to be almost working with Droid X and Gtab, but always fails just after connection. Still messing around with pairing options. This would be an awesome way to tether tablets.
I have this app running as I'm typing now on my gtab.
My mobile isn't rooted yet and its virgin mobile, so locked down on wifi tethering.
So I tried this app out, it took a little work and a few roms.
I had tnt lite 4.4 and the latest G harmony rom 2.4?
They would both freeze up on me when I was in the browser.
I'm now on Cyanogenmod 7.0.3. The latest stable version and its working fine.
Good rom, and I got netflix and hulu working on it too.
The PdaNet tablet Beta app only let's you share internet to the Browser APPs though not all apps.

I'm running Calkulin+Clemsyn 1.5ghz Froyo V6 on the gtab and stock GB on the DX. PDAnet tablet has been updated a couple of times and I still fail when connecting. Haven't spent a lot of time troubleshooting.
I am running Vegan tab 5.1.1 suppl and am having problems connecting. I enable the blue tooth on the phone (Droid 2) server and the gtab client. The tab recognizes the phone but when I go into settings on the phone it says the gtab is paired but not connected. Any suggestions? I get "fail to connect bluetooth server (java.io.IOException: Connection timed out.")
Thanks
Even with all the updates I'm still not able to connect. Oh well wireless tether it is.

"Breaking News" HuluPlus.apk Has Been Successfully Modded By Vgeezy

Hello All, I am Vgeezy....
As the title states, I have modded the huluplus.apk to work on any android device. It does not, I repeat does not require root!! YAY!!! No it does not give you free access to hulu plus, you still have to get a paid subscription to view the paid content. But if you don't have paid subscription, you can still view the free gallery. Enough talking I hope you enjoy this. Here's my video proof that it does work:
IF YOU HAVE AN AD BLOCKER ON YOUR DEVICE, THE HULU APP WILL JUST BUFFER OR FC. DISABLE YOUR AD BLOCKER WHILE USING THIS APP. IT'S BLOCKING THE ADS HULU BROADCAST, SO IT WILL NOT PLAY.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DEVICE.
Click on video link to see proof....
Mod HuluPlus.apk Video
ModHuluplus.apk
Landscape Mod Huluplus.apk
Confirming working on Motorola Xoom and Photon.
Confirmed working on Galaxy Nexus (LTE), Asus Transformer TF101.
NOT Working on Logitech Revue - I think this has to do with GTV being stuck in Landscape mode 100% of the time. The splash page of Hulu+ forces whichever device into Portait orientation but since GTV doesn't have it, it gives me an error about it, and press any key to exit.
I wonder if there are any tricks around this. Any possibility that the app can be forced to attempt to display the splash and video selection pages in landscape when a device lacks portrait orientation?
Either way, great work.
Ask and Ye shall receive. I posted the landscape mod in my first post.
So... landscape devices should use the landscape one?
EDIT: Using landscape version, works great on Xoom LTE.
Confirmed working on the MY Touch 4G (Official MIUI TDJ Release), Installed in seconds with no errors.
I don't use Sense or CM7 so I'm not sure about those ROMs but if it worked on MIUI it should work on the rest. Good work man, looks great.
Working on og Droid. Can't thank you enough for this.
No go on the Sony NSZ-GT1 for either apk. Haven't tried it on my MT4G or my girlfriend's Desire HD yet.
Works flawlessly on Archos 101 G9.
Thank you very much.

Thanks! It again installed just fine and this time the HULU Plus screen begins to load but it Force Stops with no warning. May try re-installing again after a reboot.
Seems to be working in landscape on my Transformer Prime with dock. I am having some connectivity issues, but who knows what that's about...
Edit: The connection issue seemed to be caused by AdAway. I disabled ad blocking, rebooted, and all is well. Can anyone confirm that ad blocking makes this not work, and are there any work arounds? I'm happy with it working at all, truth be know!
works great on HTC HD2 official miui...thank you!
I'd love to get this to work, but sometimes it won't stop buffering on the Acer A100 tablet and eventually gives you an error to check your internet connection. Some shows seem to start up fine though.

Dang, that's what I was downloading them for! At least now I can view Hulu on the Galaxy Nexus and connect to my TV through MTP to HDMI.
Works flawlessly on Galaxy Nexus LTE verizon. Thanks
Hulu's app has always had issues with adblockers, even when I was using an officially supported device. Just remember to disable it before you watch.
This apk works great on my galaxy nexus. Thanks dev!
Hats off @blunttedsmurf, very nice job about to test in nook tablet, thanks

[Q] SKY GO App - anyone with root have it working?

Hello, This post is intended for users where the following list of conditions below are true, although I'm obviously more than happy for any others to put in any input....
You own a Desire S
You live in the UK
You have a SKY TV subscription (or the house you live in does)
You have a SKY ID user login and have registered your device to access SKY Go
You have installed the SKY GO applicaton
Your device is rooted
You are running a GB based ROM (ie not ICS)
SKY have written then application so that it won't work on rooted devices, even though some people on other devices have managed to bypass this. Some users have had success in using the application OTA RootKeeper which backs up and then hides a devices root (su) - which out of interest will permit rooted users from successfully using Google Play (aka The market) for downloading and watching movies.
No matter what I do now, use the hide root (su) app which works fine, clear the data from SKY Go, de-install it and then re-install the app, when I put in my SKY ID credential I always get the following erorr "PIN Error You have entered an incorrect PIN" (see attachment for screen shot) even though there is no PIN to enter as part of the setup (its not related to my SKY box PIN as that is working fine and I've configured SKY Go to not require any age restrictions)
I would really love to resolve this as want to be able to watch Football from my wonderful device when I'm away from home, and I can't even consider returning my phone to stock in case anyone suggests that.
This application annoyingly hasn't yet been updated by SKY to function on any ICS ROMs.
This is the official link to the SKY Go App thread but is is multi device and therefore in excess of 50 pages with greater than 1500 posts mostly of people saying doesn't work on my device...so I thought I would trap up my local resources (eg you).
[APP] Sky Go for Android (UK ONLY)
As always many thanks to anyone that's even read this far , let alone who bothers to add anything....Cheers
Much as I'd love to help you mate, I'm kinda stuck. It turns out that you can only use Sky Go if you re a direct Sky customer - no use to me as I subscribe through my Virgin Media package. Bit peed-off at that discovery to be fair.
The app fires up OK on my Desire, but I obviously can't sign in. I'm going to chat to a mate of mine about 'borrowing' his Sky details so I can test it on my phone and I'll let you know if I get anywhere with it.

That would be much appreciated. When I first downloaded the Sky Go app I was able to log into it ok, but I was unable to access the channels through it (as the device was rooted).
At that point I had an entry in the Settings-> Accounts & Sync for Sky Go
If I now attempt to add the sky go account through settings add account, when logging in with the correct credentials (that work on the sky website) I also get the same PIN error as shown in the attached screen shot on post #1
it seems that since I've un-installing and re-installing the app (or it may have been auto updated by the market) I can't seem to get that account back as I get the PIN error on entering my sky credentials now, even though previously they went into the app without any issues.
Let me know if you get hold of your mates SKY details and that would assist greatly, this may be a non-starter but would appreciate at least one other person trying!
Thanks

Errhhgg!! bloody iBollox, unfortunately I know it works on that pile of ####...thanks all the same though.
For some stupid reason SKY have had an iPhone application for years and have only just realised that the majority of the world actually uses Android so have finally released a poor quality Android based application (which doesn't even work on ICS showing their real level of commitment and the degree in which they're taking Android seriously!)
My selfish prime concern - is all about rooted GB though, much appreciated that you're willing to try to give it a go though....Much Thanks

Ok, sorry for the late reply!
Believe me, it wasn't my choice on the iPad
I'm already frustrated with the lack of homescreen customization on it! And lack of utility apps (widgets, shortcuts etc)
Ok, didn't get a chance to try it on the Sky Go app, I can't find the bloody ID stuff, so instead I downloaded Google Movies.
This app requires you to NOT be rooted.
I ran the app first, and it came up saying I couldn't use it, as I was rooted...
Then I ran the app you said, and 'disabled' root. Then I ran Google movies, and it is working now! It's detected my device as unrooted! I didn't even reboot after 'disabling' or close the Movie app!
So, the app definetly works... But I couldn't test it on Sky GO, only Google Movies. But the sane theory should apply right? Maybe you could try it on Google movies? Then we can See whether it May just be sky Go not detecting.
Hope that is of some help!
(Running Endymion)
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
Some screenshots if it helps!
1) I first ran play movies app
2) I used the app to 'unroot/disable root' the device
3) I ran Google play movies, and it worked!
Appreciate the effort Oly,
Unfortunately I'd already tried the un rooting and google market
Was just the sky id and sky go bit that I needed verifying
From home using your sky box which will show your viewing card number and other details that along with some personal stuff like name and address should enable you to get a sky id setup
In order to test sky go or no go as it's been for me
No hurry, thanks all the same
Fortunately my wife has an un rooted DS so I can use her phone if I need, but you know how it is, I want it to work on mine
Swyped form ym Dersie S unsig XAD Permuim
Ben, have you tried this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22740104
Sent from a Desire S waiting for Kernel 3. WAKE UP HTC!!!!
I don't get the pin error so can't help with that.
I can open the app and view channels but they just buffer at 0% forever. With the exception of sky new which restarts the app.
I tried flashing a pre rooted stock rom and hiding root using voodoo and I was able to watch sky news but premium channels still didn't work. From reading the thread in the android application and games folder it looks like you need to edit the default.prop within the kernel as well as hide root.
I don't have a clue how to do this but I'm going to give it a go when I get time later! Hopefully we can get it working I'm surprised more people aren't working on this as it has the potential to be one of the best android apps out there
See this thread for details on the changes needed to the kernel. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535688
See my post on the main thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25801020&postcount=1803
Looks I have to use a stock based rom so have edited a stock rom just about to flash here's hoping it works!
A stock ROM that is a Bugger, I love Endy too much to move from it
Swyped from my DesireS
I know what you mean mate but for Sky Sports on my my phone I think I can live with it!
I have attached the modified boot.img if you want to try it I can confirm it is working for me using Hyperion V2.1 with the boot.img modified and root hidden using voodoo
Well that's well worth it, brilliant work.....THANKS
If only I hadn't recently deleted my old backup of that ROM, I suspect one may still be on my PC
I wonder how it checks to see if we're on stock? Did you see if it works on stock sense v3.0?
Is it worth editing the build.prop file and replacing values, in an attempt to fool it further? without having to switch bases?
When I get an opportunity (probably the weekend) I'll try that.
Swyped from my DesireS
I used Hyperion v2.1 and changed so.secure to 1 within the default.prop in the kernel.
Great Rom on its own anyway think i'll just stick with this until another solution is found.
Here is a link to download it from my dropbox. http://db.tt/VISCrZ2y
Let me know if you managed to get it to work on Endy!
Just hide root BEFORE you install the sky go app and it should work fine.
I am using CM9 but still cant get this to work I have tried hiding root and using the modded skygo but still no luck. really do not want to go back to stock rom.
I am guessing nobody has had any more joy with this?

[Solved] GMD GestureControl developer (me) need help to update TF700T support

I'm developer of GMD GestureControl:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535740
I got feedback that TF700T received firmware update recently and application stopped working. I need some help in order to update application.
If you have installed that recent update and have rooted device please send me touch events protocol sample. This can be done easily from my application:
1) Install application from XDA thread or from market (free Lite version is sufficient)
2) Open Help tab in application
3) Click Email developer
4) Click 'Send protocol sample'
5) Follow instructions on screen, basically you need to hit 'Start', do a few single touch and multitouch gestures, click 'Stop'.
6) This will generate email and attach protocol sample. Select you email program and email it to me (it fill address, subject, etc).
You can review email, its in text form and attachment is zipped text too, no private information is sent.
Thanks.
works fine it seems.....
I hate to admit this but I recently got the transformer pad infinity, and installed a illegal copy of of gesture control root to test to see if it works.:crying: Im running latest update on the pad and everything seems to work decently. I can use back gesture, home gesture, application switch, basically all of them. I am using superuser and it runs smooth. I just dont know how to make gestures yet.
android 4.0.3
nova launcher prime beta 8
superuser
wallpaper comes back randomly when I turn the status bar off
latest asus patch 9.4.5.30
us version tab
HC_Default
blacklist works great
power saving mode on infinity runs it well no lag
Im going to purchase ur app soon, I like it very much and would hate to be without the latest updates. Thank you for yout great app
Tried & no go
I'm running stock .30 & Shell 3d
Here's screen shot when I tried to email.
It seems to work, but Shell tries to do it's thing
The app may be useful for others, but not my cup of tea.
Hi,
a very happy GMD user here, just awesome app! Thank you for your hard work and contribution to a better world :good:
I don't think there is anything wrong with gestures as such.
It doesn't work, that is true. But as soon as the app is opened, it works without a problem.
So, I think maybe it just isn't started automatically or something.
Hope it helps.

[NFC UPDATE] [App] Fast File Transfer - The WiFi Direct For The Rest Of Us

Fast File Transfer is a free Android app that uses WiFi tethering for file transfers between two devices.
This technology allows for speeds of more than 32 Mbit/s, which means e.g. 1 Gigabyte in under 5 minutes.
NEW VERSION 2.0 12/12/2014
I'm proud to announce the release of Version 2.0, a complete rewrite with tons of new features.
I've opened a new thread specifically dealing with the new version here.
NEW VERSION 1.2 03/02/2013
Finally, the app allows pairing via NFC and more:
NFC (Beta)
NFC can now be used for connecting to the WiFi and opening FFT'S web address
You will have to install an app like WiFiTap on the receipient's device for connecting to the WiFi via NFC.
Please note that WiFiTap only connects to a WiFi that not already known.
NFC pairing is in BETA state currently. Send me an email if you experience problems.
New notifications that display progress, file size, current transfer speed and estimated transfer time
Hints for QR code and NFC
Added support for Android 2.2 (Tested on ZTE Blade)
Now continues sending when device's screen is turned off or the app is closed to background
Loads of bug fixes:
Error message on devices where the app could not get an IP
Multiple files should now work
Should now correctly restore WiFi Tethering
Menu works for devices without HW menu button
Progress correctly shown for files bigger than 4GB
Features:
Up to 20x speed of bluetooth
The receiver is device-independent
No need for a common Wi-Fi connection
No data usage for file transfers
The receiver does not have to have the app installed
Send single or multiple files
Easy to setup:
Use QR codes to allow the receiver to easily connect to the wifi and open the receiving URL
Facts:
Fast File Transfer
Developer: Florian Draschbacher
Price: Free
Platform: Android 2.2 and higher
Play Store Link:
http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.floriandraschbacher.fastfiletransfer
PLEASE NOTE:
The app does not work on:
Motorola Razr devices (Restarts phone; Problem in Motorola's Android implementation)
Most HTC One devices
HTC EVO devices
Some Galaxy Y devices
Devices that don't have a WiFi Tethering setting, such as the Nexus 7
These problems on specific devices are caused by restrictions and changes of manufacturers or carriers that make it impossible for the app to access WiFi tethering. Please don't write bad reviews mentioning the app does not work on a device listed above.
Please feel free to ask questions or make suggestions for future updates!
Great App, is there any way to use it without it messing up my wifi hotspot settings (the restore option doesn't work).
Thankes , plan to give her a whirl moving some files around

Sorry for this late response and for the bug, but there's good news:
This will be fixed in the next update I'm currently working on.

Lovely App! Particularly useful for Nexus 4 owners!
Hi Florian,
Really like your app - it has a particular attraction to owners of the Nexus 4 (with it's somewhat limited storage capacity)
I've just posted about it over at modaco though unfortunately I can't post the link here due to XDA's posting restrictions.
Hopefully this will spark a bit more (much deserved) interest
Great work!

As mentioned in the app description on Google Play, the app does not work on Motorola's Razr devices. Sorry for that. It seems Motorola have a major bug somewhere in their WiFiManager implementation.
Excellent app
Works fine on Samsung Galaxy SL (GT-I9003) running stock 2.3.6 GB. Getting speeds in excess of 1600 kbyte/s.
Requests to dev:
1. Show file size, speed, estimated time remaining during transfer.
2. Include a "cancel" button.
3. Enable batch transfers (queuing multiple file transfers).
4. Include a notification in the pull down menu with details of the transfer.
5. Consider implementing it like Bluetooth file transfer. The app must be installed on both devices. Pair/authenticate the devices, then select the file and the receiver device. Transfer will start immediately. The app running in background in the receiver device will detect the incoming file(s) and transfer them, without user intervention. Of course, include an option to "ask always". For non-Android devices, there's web based transfer/QR code.
Thanks a lot!

You can already send multiple files:
Just select multiple files in your file explorer before sending them.

I'm planning to include a receiving part right within the app, where you would only have to enter Name and PW of the sender once and can receive with one click later.
Re: [App] Fast File Transfer - The WiFi Direct For The Rest Of Us
I think you should not enable it like Bluetooth because I can send files to my laptop
Having app installed on both devices is not possible on laptop
Sent from my One V using xda premium

Developing an app that allows transfers to any WiFi device was one of my original goals, so of course I will always keep a way to receive without any special app. The receiving part I mentioned would just connect to the WiFi for you and open the web browser automatically.
BTW, some One V users report that the app does not work for them. Does it work on your One V? If so, which ROM are you running?
AW: [App] Fast File Transfer - The WiFi Direct For The Rest Of Us
Just discovered your app and have to say it's brilliant. I've always been searching for an app allowing me to send files via wifi between to devices using the Hotspot functionality. You just made my day the only thing that could improve your app is a holo design and the already mentioned nfc feature
