hey guys, i am Kenny Spark, if you aint heard of me already, im a GSC Coder and script MW2 Files to hack the game. I can code in several languages including c++
i am new to all this stuf and need a helping hand.
2 days ago i downgraded my HTC Desire's Rom to stock Android 2.1
i then rooted the device using unrevoked on linux (backtrack 4)
then i began to flash custom roms to my phone but im now stuck when i try to flash RCMixHD v2.0 ROM to my mobile.
According to the developer, this rom uses a script know as data2ext which i think requires something to be done with the sd card. i think this has to be done
Fat + 1GB Ext4 + 0.3GB Ext4 + 0.1GB Swap
i know this means partitioning my sd card but i really have no idea on how to do it. i have a 4gb sandisk sd card so if anyone could explain i would appreciate it very much
i flashed the A2SD+ Version and it worked but the data2ext version just hung on the htc screen (i diddnt do anything to my sd card)
also do i need a certain radio or kernal? Thanks alot guys
I've tried the current and several previous versions of Darktremor's Apps2SD and don't have any luck getting it to work with my Optimus One phone. I've got a 8gb card partitioned with 7gb of fat32 and about 1gb of ext3. Before each install, I wipe everything in the phone-data & cache. After flashing the zip file, the phone boots fine and after I run the app, it reboots the phone and the phone just goes into a loop displaying the android animation.
Does anyone have similar experience? Any help would be appreciated.
I'm having the same problem, or sort of...
Iv'e installed darktremor's apps2sd, foloowing every step including partitioning the SD, but after i installed several apps and internal space decreased drasticaly.
I would like to know it it works with LG P500/Optimus One stock rom v10a with root?
thanks
I gave up trying and did it the hard way. Cooked up my own rom and included the apps2sd feature, flashed it to the phone and now it's working great. It was a real leap of faith though. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, unless of course you don't care about losing the use of the phone. Anyway if you cook up your own rom, you should be able to get this working properly.
Hi,
I own a HTC Desire (Rooted) phone & are currently using CyanogenMod (Nightly Build 39), very happy with rom but would like to choose maybe another type of rom, questions are:-
1. Which roms are compatible to Alpharev s-off?
2. Whats the best rom available?
3. Which roms have 720 HD running on camera?
Thanks
You can try leedroid 3.02 good solid rom and it works fine with s-off and has the 720p camera
Hi Larkspeed,
Thanks for quick reply, tried loading leedroid before but phone stuck on Alpharev startup screen, what process do i use to install rom?
Previously used:-
Wipe Data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
install zip from sdcard
reboot.
Cheers
make sure you have a ext3 partition as the second partition on your SD Card.
I hads the same problem until I figured out that some rom or other had changed my ext3 to ext4 as soon as I changed it back then leedroid loaded fine
Cheers,
How do I change ext 3 to ext 4?
Thanks
Hi all,
Have tried many, many ROMs lately: RCMix, Leedroid, AlexV, Cool X, Cool Sensation v6 (latest) but with all these socalled mixed ROMs that contain GB with Sense 2.1 + 3.0 I experience freezes. Most oftenly when I either end a call or when my phone has been on the charger for quite some time.
Is it the phone? No
Why am I sure? When I unroot the whole ROM, it ll runs vary stable. Trouble start
What I did sofar:
- Use alpharev to get me on Stock Boot, also tried CM7r2 combined these with various ROMs
- Repartion, align to Ext4 (also without that staying on Ext3), wipe, wipe again, flash any of the mentioned ROMs
- I have reinstalled apps with Titanium but to make sure this was not the cause, also tried this manually
- Checked SD card by repartitioning it to Fat32 only and then using write/read tools to check every memort block of my SD card.
- Tried putting the CPU governor to "on demand" as some people tend to think that this causes instability
- Tried disabling app caching to Ext partition (efftively downgrading from A2SD+ to A2SD)
It seems I have but one option, and that is to go back to unrooted version.
hope some of you may have a hunch what I can try out more.... Anyone?

hi there
have you tried insertcoin stable 1.0.8?
i used that and had no lags at all
even rcmix s 2.0 with the 2.0.1 update for the led fix
Change your sd card. Wrong section.

After you have tried almost everything in your place I would return the stock rom that works well and sold cell phone.
Hunch is indeed that SD card is somehow corrupted, although I did write 8GB of test data on it and all was read with NO errors. Could this still be an issue somehow?
I find that if a ROM is partitioned on my SD Card, it tends to lag and run slow because mine is just Class 2 SanDisk. It seems you'll need a higher class SD card or you could do what I did and opt for coolexe's Gingerbread Sense 2.1 Roms SagaS/AceS/VisionS that fit 100% in the Desire's system.
Hi to everyone!
I've a question for you. This morning I've flashed the rom showed in the post title on my Desire, with a CM7r2 partition table. I've followed this sequence:
1. Copy the rom zip in SD
2. Full wipe using Clockwork recovery
3. Then flashing the rom
So, after the setup, internal memory was 148 mb used by apps preinstalled and 140 mb for new apps: but during the setup of these apps my phone was out of memory after some apps, almost an half then total installed in my previous Insert Coin rom.
Have you any suggests for me? Is it possible that A2SD script doesn't work in my Desire?
Thanks
Hi!
I've the same problem than you. I've tested some other roms like ReflexTSense or Insertcoin with CM7r2 and I didn't have this problem.
Any suggests?
Thanks
I also have the same issue....
