{REQ/QUESTION} HTC Sense 3.0 - T-Mobile LG G2x

Is anyone working on a Sense 3.0 ROM for the G2X? I've already seen it running beautifully on the MT4G

Nope no development. And likely wont see one. Asking for a sense rom on a non htc phone is blasphemy.
Sense is slow and useless imo

I agree...I like stock a lot better than any skin, even HTC Sense. Either way, I haven't heard anything about a Sense ROM for the G2X yet. Maybe when official Gingerbread comes out and development (hopefully) picks up again someone will port or start making a Sense ROM.

This. The Sensation, which has stronger hardware, is slower than the g2x. That's all you really need to know about Sense.

If you want sense buy a sense phone.
G2x with CM7 and faux kernel. NONSENSE!!!!

I really like the weather animations on sense 3.0. I've heard that beautiful widgets is close to that, true?

I really like Beautiful Widgets. Lots of goodies in that app. The weather animations are pretty sleek. Not sure how to compare it to Sense though.

GO Weather has a widget that can be skinned to look exactly like HTC and yet is free. Has other skins too, and even a live wallpaper that changes based on the weather.

All I want is the lock-screen, unless someone has advice for something similar for a rooted stock G2x.

Until we get drivers for gingerbread, a lot of ports are just not going to happen. Once lg/nvidia releases what we need, you'll be able to port anything over within reason. (On my old hd2 I had sense 3.0 running perfectly. And it's hardware specs were a lot lower than this. AND it ran well. Just needs quite a bit of tweaking.)

Seems like no one has come accross MIUI lol. THAT is the best ever. Hands down.

HTC Sense Port for SNS? (Nexus S)

Do you think that Sense will ever be able to be ported to the Nexus S when it releases its Gingerbread update?
I know that the Galaxy S never managed to see Sense on it, but it would be sure nice to have that option I also know this would be a difficult port as it would involve an inter manufacturer jump. I think it was easier to put sense on the n1 due to it being an HTC phone I dont think i will feel the same need for TouchWiz on the Nexus S somehow

Sense is closed-source, meaning it would be illegal to port it. And because we're on the Internet, it will be done anyway.

Because something is closed source doesn't make it illegal to port. The problem is that Sense is a copyright work of HTC and therefore it's up to HTC whether or not third-parties are allowed to redistribute it, at present no.
However that still doesn't mean porting Sense is illegal. If you own a HTC Desire HD, dump the firmware, modify it to run on another device you own then that's perfectly legal. However, I'm not sure about the actual legalities of duplicating the firmware. You may be forced to remove the firmware from your HTC device so that you haven't created two copies. It really depends on what HTC's license says, assuming they even thought to include one.
Can anybody make a sense rom?
To work on nexus S....Pls just for kicks
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I'm sure one will be released at some point. Sense has an aesthetically pleasing UI that a lot of android users find attractive. Seeing as the Nexus S was just released, however, just have to wait and be patient. I think that the openness of this device, coupled with it's "pure google" experience, will attract a lot of devs and a lot of customization options.

I think the N1 got the Sense ROMs only because it was easy to port it from the nearly identical HTC Desire device.
I'm not sure it will be that easy to do on the Samsung HW.
Does the SGS have such ROM? If so, then surly we'll be seeing one for NS soon.

And I only looked at this thread thinking it was a joke. You mean someone would seriously want to take a great phone and crap it up with Sense???? I don't understand that at all!
I though people stopped making sense ROMs because HTC didnt quite like that copyright infringment.
thats why the CM rom on the Evo doesnt have it

MT4G to be launched in Canada as HTC Emerald /w Android 2.3 + HTC Sense

Yeah, hopefully this allows for a bug-free Gingerbread/Sense ROM on our mt4g's.
I take away two things from this. First, it shows just how much T-Mobile SUCKS. Why they insist on having a fugly, customized (read bastardized) version of Sense on their HTC phones. Second, why they can't come out with a Gingerbread update in a timely manner is beyond me. The EVO will have Gingerbread in two months, and that phone isn't near as powerful and came out long before the MT4G! Rant over.
This is actually awesome news. This could give us the kernel source we've been waiting for forever, in addition to a ROM that can be directly ported (much like the Desire HD ROMs).

If it takes till June the Mobilicity HTC Emerald will hopefully be out before then.
And it's running the nicer (IMO) version of Sense!
2.3 is already scheduled for Q2

I love tmobile's twist on sense, I never stay on another ROM (Cyanogen, Desire ports, or anything) cuz they're not like our stock sense. Even if it compromises speed/memory or something, I doubt it's not much what with all the power our phone has. Just my opinion, so an official tmobile release is gonna be rad!

They'll be calling it the HTC "Panache".
I noticed the Genius button is gone, back to a plain old search button.
I hope they don't lock down this variant as stringently as the Incredible S. I wonder if there's any hardware differences that'd make it incompatible with a RUU from the MT4G?

I think it has been stated that we would only get sense 2.1 when our GB comes. Plus if you remember the leak did have 2.1.
If I'm not mistaken, the evo has gb now but sense is still the same as it was when the phone came out a year ago. It seems to be HTCs MO to only upgrade sense on newer devices and leave the rest out in the cold.

This is why we root our phones, so when HTC decides that our phone cant handle sense 3.0 when really it can we can still get it
They've already stated they feel its too CPU taxing for their 1Ghz single core processors. Simple as that. Judging by the reviews of the Sensation's speed/lag they may be on to something for a STOCK CPU tune where they are interested in longevity and reliably as opposed to us rooters who don't mind pushing all the hardware for everything It's worth. From personal experience the 3.0 port/preview NEEDS overclocking to perform well, something that ain't happening in an OTA update.

just adding my two cents. had made a thread earlier and I along with a few others I know and have read about feel that it isn't sense that is causing lag, but the fact that the dual core does not run simultaneously like the tegra 2 and exynos. but like I said, that's just my opinion.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't like sense 3.0. It's starting to become distracting to android and not just a skin...
I honestly don't know a thing about sense 3. I was just wondering why the tb wasnt getting it

Maybe this was his first android? It sure was mine, and when I was buying, I was deciding between tbolt, charge, and revo. Revo was binged so that was out. I looked at reviews of tbolt and charge and some said they preferred TW and some said sense. Without any experience on Android I had no idea what the difference was. I bought the charge based on the tbolt's 4 hour battery and the screen of the Charge in the corporate store.
After getting involved in android communities I know the differences between the UIs and TW is the worst (for me)
