[Q] Which rom best fits me - Captivate General

Hey you guys I am running on 2.3.3 gingerbread, and I am looking for a rom that best fits me.
I want a fast rom, with decent battery life. I usually use my phone to browse the web and as a music player, a stable and for the most part lag free rom would be nice, and I also want all of the bloatware gone.
So can you guys please help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

Well yeah.... I believe everyone here wants that ROM. This should be in Q&A, not General.
That being said, the stock 2.3.3 KF1 ROM is pretty nice, just remove the bloatware yourself. I'm guessing Serendipity 7 is nice too, I loved 6.4 on Froyo but when I flashed Gingerbread I wanted to stay with the Captivate bootloaders so I haven't tried Serendipity 7 yet.

wrong... this thread should not exist whatsoever. the reason why is even in the thread title Its whats best fits YOU noone on here is you, therefor noone will know what you will like best.
run a quick search for 'best rom' you will see that threads like this get closed pretty much instantly.

I am looking for a new or used car. It needs to be cheap, run great, look great, and be comfortable to drive. Do any car manufacturers make something like that?

The only Person that can tell what rom is best for you is you. Please search before opening a new thread as you would have found all these threads are closed on sight.

Buying a G-tab and inexperienced with the ROMs

I am interested in which rom would make the best daily driver? I am not sure I understand how stable and useable the froyo vs gingerbread roms are, etc. Does anybody have experience with these roms and know what would make a good everyday rom where mostly everything works?
Stability & Usability: Froyo
Bleeding Edge (until Honeycomb): Gingerbread
As far as specific ROMs go, as others will tell you, get Clockwork installed and try different ones from the Development forum until you find one that you gel with. This tablet is my "daily driver" and I personally use TNT Lite 4.2.4, but others swear by Vegan and others.
The best part about having a tablet with this much community support is the ability to really get comfortable and see what fits you best. Choice rules, doesn't it?
A bit overwhelming at first =)

I just ordered one as well, hasnt even been delivered yet.
I've read some reviews that said stock Tap and Tap really sucks and is very laggy. Does adding the enhancement pack help fix the lag. If so, that's what I'd prefer to do first.
Thanks.

[Q] What is your favorite Custom ROM...For the Samsung Captivate?

I'm sorry MODs if this is in the wrong place, but what I've found throughout the forums is alot of polls that show neither of the Custom ROMS I've used..... and at the rate these polls are made, 3 to 4 new custom ROMS come out either daily or weekly... Like I said before MODs, if this thread is in the wrong place I apologize.
Now to my phone... I currently have Lime-Light (GB 2.3.3 with boot-loaders for Samsung-19000) and I have to say, the visuals and speed have been speed up.... Quick boot-loading after a few restarts, which I do every night. Battery life is awesome as well, music player on while playing Angry Birds RIO for about an hour and lost maybe 15% battery life. I have used Froyo (Stock Update), Serendipity6.3,Phoenix Unleashed, Apex 6.0 (Second Favorite), Firefly 2.9, Gingerbread Stock (2.3.3 from Samsung-19000), and I would have to say out of all, Lime-Light (2.3.3) AKA Purple_Licious is the best to me which you can find here if you like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060153.
Tell me, whats your favorite Custom ROM?
Some advice, if your going to try the Gingerbread Stock 2.3.3 for Captivate from 19000 I recommend following every instruction to the TEE.

there have been MANY theads about this
EVERY ONE gets closed!
and usually [Q]uestions go in Questions and Answers...
each rom has its own features and objectives,
each user has their own preferences as well so its all oppinion and not necessary.
next each GB rom right now has their own install directions.
yours that you posted will only confuse the already mixed situation.
and we also know where to find the roms we dont need links to them.
if we dont, we shouldnt be flashing.

Which ROM

Im new to the whole android scene. I am loving my phone more and more since I've been off the stock Froyo charge rom and onto the plain bloated EP3HA ROM. But I want something more. Something faster. Maybe more control and better battery life. Ive been reading about all the ROM's available right now and I'm interested in them. But I'm not sure which to choose. I dont know if I should do the kernel update and all that. Any advice from you guys would be much appreciated!
If you're still on the latest EP3HA ROM, I would flash:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/3426-kernel-gb-imoseyon-kernel-stock-repacked-v310-101111/
and let it convert your file system.
Honestly, the EP3HA ROM is the fastest I've used.

I was on GB for some time, but eventually switched back to Froyo about a week ago. I still think it is way faster, less hang ups, and better battery. GB always seems fine at first, but after a week it tends to slow down on me.
Im loving the new Humble 4.5.
I tried the new 4.5 but it was soooo slow for me.
New humble is great. Increased battery life more than all theother roms

Humble 4.5 is awesome. However, 5.0 is coming very soon so I would hold out.

Infinity and Humble should both have new versions out soon based on EP4P, Gummy as well but Kejar said it may take as much as a few weeks as he's busy with numerous other projects... Humble seems kinda hit and miss for me (and others apparently), some versions work just fine and others are laggy, slow and suck battery like no tomorrow but I'd say if you can get ahold of a copy of one of Infinity's EP3H builds its pretty nice as well

[Q] Best Gingerbread Rom

I m currently running slim rom on my infuse but i'm now so bored about the many issues everybody have with ics first and jelly bean now. I am seriously thinking to go back to gingerbread so finally my hdmi will work and no problems with recording with the camera etc... So here i'm asking if anyone can suggest me the best and most stable 2.3.6/2.3.7 rom. I used to run AEON rom but i had a look on 2.3.7 cyanogen mod and it seems much better. Hope to not be a noob with this thread thanks to all of you guys. XDA the best!
From a Moderator:
What is stable for others may not be for you, best thing is to test/flash for yourself. Good to see you say you have been reading, outstanding!
Now Sir, take it to the next level run the ROMs for a few days to get the best test you can, Thanks
I've had both CM7 and Zeus V6....had the same camera problems and no bluetooth with CM7...Zeus...everything worked...and worked well....Kept a lot of the TouchWiz features I liked like swipe left or right for text or call...Just my opinion.
does wording of the question make a difference?
Bigjoe would've probably put a few pictures/graphics in there to help make the point for dummies like me (as he usually does).
The same type question (what's the best ROM) comes up again and again and there's always an understandable reluctance from developers and really senior members to permit that discussion.
I wonder if it might be a bit more tolerable if the question were reworded slightly to ask:
"what's your personal favorite....and why"
instead of
"what's the best".
(Would that be a better question or still frowned upon?)
Well if camera and HDMI are your main concerns then it's best to stick with our Samsung-based 2.3.6 roms.
Stock is best go stock gingerbread.

I actually miss the LiquidSmooth RC8 camera app for it's image stabilization but I'm glad to be back to the GB version I first rooted to. I chose Option C from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523
I've used AEON, Mind of Mac, stock, CM7, and my JoyOS. I like Mind of Mac, just because it has the look and feel of ICS/JB, yet has the features and battery life of GB

Best rom ever!!

I was just messing around with my cappy today and got thinking, What was the best Rom I have ever used? My cappy is not my daily phone ( since moved on to SGS II and now Nexus 4) but still is by far my favorite phone.
So anyway the best rom for the cappy that i ever used was Firefly 3.0.1 it was only Froyo 2.2 but to this day I think it was the smoothest best looking rom ever.
What are your thoughts?
I think the mods must lock the thread. There is no such thing "best ROM". The best ROM is the one YOU like most. Period.

I think you are missing the point. I was asking what you thought was best.
I'm not missing anything. It's just another expression of the same old "best ROM" question. Just find the best one for you and use it. No matter what my opinion is, you'll still think your Froyo based Firefly is the best. In case you want to know what ROM I'm currently running - look at my signature, the info is there.

First off I'm not asking you to convince me that your rom is better, or which I should run, or which has better battery. I'm just asking out of all that have been flashed which is your favorite? Maybe I should have said favorite.
I guess thats to much to ask. I think i will just leave the captivate forums like I did before when it got overrun by a bunch of know it all dicks! It looks like they are still here!
Mods please delete this thread.
Thanks for sharing opinion. Good luck!
