Fonts - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

has anyone figured out how to change font sizes yet?
Its really annoying when I go to People > Profile > call mobile and the size of the font is so small you can barely read it , the phone numbers are dinky unless you have a really bright color you wont be able to see the number and in daylight you can forget about reading that number, especially annoying when try to read a number for a friend ,you just cant see it! Now if the numbers / fonts could be changed to say the size of "call mobile" you could clearly see that even in daylight! Anyone think they can find this?

theres actually an app that does change the size , its not perfect but it changes it so you can actually see the number !

Font size at incoming call notification bubble

Dear All,
do anyone of you know of a way to change the font-size in the incoming call notification bubble (where it shows name and number of caller)?
I've got the problem that with my new HTC Hermes (O2 xda trion), the font size is much bigger then on i.e. the Wizard and thus, some names don't fit in the info-bubble anymore.
Can this be fixed?
If the font can be different on different devices, there MUST be a way to change that, won't there?
Thanks for any findings!
Best regards,
Klaas.

HTC Touch Pro SMS & EMail Font Size Issue - Help Required

Team,
I am looking for some real help here.
I have a (Vodafone) HTC Touch Pro and have been using this for the last 6 months. I have a condition where my sight is at a fixed focal length. Reading SMS and EMails on this phone is very difficult for me and, at times, impossible. I use glasses but do not carry them with me at all times.
Does anyone know of a way that I can increase the size of the text on SMSs, emails and other areas of the phone? Here is what I have done over the last few months with no luck:
System Text - Basic
I have set the system font size to the biggest available through:
Settings -> System -> Screen -> Text Size -> Largest
I have also ensured that the Sensor Wheel is working when viewing texts by moving this clockwise - the text is at its largest.
This is still too small for me. :-(
Software
I tried using the AdvancedConfigurationTool from http://www.touchxperience.com/
Still no luck there.
I also changed the theme in the hope that I would be able to increase or change the text size - nope.
Finally I used a bit of software that allows the system fonts to be changed, even adding new fonts to the interface (sorry, can't find link). While this updated all text sizes the SMS text remained the same size.
Does anyone think this is the Vodafone branding preventing me from changing the font size? I would not like to invalidate the warranty at this point.
I like the phone but I am really finding it difficult to use as normal. Does anyone have any ideas?
Cheers,
Ricemonk
Thought an upload of what the SMS text is like would help:
I know this may look perfectly normal to almost all users however when on the HTC Touch Pro screen this is much smaller and difficult for me to read.
Open up Messaging and select a Mail Account. Then click on an email to view. From there, go to Menu -> View -> Text Size and select whatever size you want.
This action also effects all other txt in Both Mails & SMS.
Thanks for your reply treo927 however this was already set to highest as I changed the system text to the maximum.
It looks like I am destined to move away from the Touch Pro after only 6 months and on to a Blackberry.
ricemonk,
I recently had the opposite problem to you ... the fonts were too large, they were massive in SMS and email. I tried everything to reduce them in the mail settings.
I recall that I managed to fix it with a font setting from IE ... weird I know, but they must be connected. I cant now find exactly what setting I altered, but it was something in internet explorer.
A
adamcullen,
Thanks for your reply - I will take a look and fiddle with the settings and let you know how it goes.
Cheers,

Ricemonk, try SMS Tweaker http://handheld.softpedia.com/progDownload/SMS-Tweaker-Download-62457.html
It's a free program that lets you set the text message font size in normal mode (not threaded mode) up to 16 points. It looks pretty big to me. I hope it works for you.

Contacts/people hub

Has anyone developed a contacts app that you can actually read the phone numbers , I dont know about you guys , but the numbers are so small you cant barely read them unless you have so rediculously bright neon color , the font size is so small you cant see them , in the iphone or the blackberry or any android phone they are really big or your can adjust them, I havent seen anywhere that you adjust the size of the fonts for phone numbers in contacts?

[Q] Font Sizes

Does anyone know how to change fonts and/or font sizes? This is an easy task in the Galaxy S but I cannot find the option anywhere. My old eyes are really struggling with the Sensation's font size. Might be a deal killer. Thanks for any help....
p.s. i 've found ways to make font size changes when viewing an email or using the internet but I am more concerned with the default Android font.....too damn small!
You could try the spare parts app. I can't guarantee it would work, but from what I remember, you could set the font to one of like 7 or 9 sizes from the app that was available in CM versions. Not sure if you could just install that .apk though?
I got to the office today and compared the Sensation's font with an Evo 4G. HTC's thinking makes no sense. For example, the EVO 4G's contact list is infinitely more readable despite the Sensation's larger screen!!! The font is so small that it is useless to even use pictures because they are not viewable for practical purposes.....just a blob of color.
The font is probably the same size but since the Sensation has a higher resolution it will look smaller. Sensation has a higher DPI than any WVGA phone
curious also how you can change the system/default font on the Sensation

I'd like to know this too, especially for the Sensation's e-mail client (Sense). I've tried using both HTML and Plain text formats but as soon as you send an e-mail - which you're copied on and then check the results you get crappy size 12 "Times New Roman" font.
It looks crap HTC, does anyone have a solution... ?
Please.
MMB.
answered MANY times before, not until rooted can you use LCD density
Ok.
For me, I'm not too bothered about the font size or screen 'real-estate', I'm actually interested in having a solution that alows me to choose my font type in the e-mail client because frankly it looks crappy and unprofessional.
MMB.
i actually prefer the font size for this fone, when i held it next to my HD2, the difference was MASSIVE, for the HD2 the density was set to 160, and on the sensation, it seems to be around 180 or 190, but with the higher res, the text looks crisp, especially in gmail and websites

[Q] Increase font size in messages WP 7.8 in Lumia 510

Hi, I bought for my mom this phone, because it`s simple and easy to use. Screen is big enough, but I never thought that will be a problem with font size, especially in messages where font is tiny.
I just found old threads without solution and new about WP 8 where is menu Easy of access to change font size.
Please give me any advice what should I do, otherwise i will be force to change this phone.
P.S.
Almost in all old phone models is something to change font size where screen is small and one word is on whole screen.
Microsoft is the biggest IT company with windows mobile system history and just forget something like this? Ridiculous
This is even discrimination for people with disabilities like for people with poor but usable vision
Please, someone tell me that i`ve been wrong about this and i just can`t find where font size is changing and just I`m blind...
